Lovely night away from home for our wedding anniversary, lovely food service and very nice variety of traditional ales. Wonderful accommodation we stayed in "millies" pictures say it all will definitely visit again.

My wife and I stayed there last night. Beer and food was lovely but the room was small and bathroom very old and tired. We stayed in a room called “Rosie”, which was sold as a “superior double with garden view”, which is slightly misleading as the view was onto the beer garden but with other customers walking past the ground floor window there wasn’t not much of a view as we had the curtains closed. The word superior is a stretch as the room is quite small and bathroom was below average. It cost £250, which seems a lot for not very much.

Good service and food although limited choice and puddings now cost £9.50 each. Tasty but too expensive.

Had a few days in the Peak District and stayed here on our way home with my sister for her birthday. We had a lovely room, if a little small, although it does state this on the website as we also had her dog with us. The staff are all very dog friendly with lots of hello's and little treats for the pooches if allowed. The evening meal was delicious as was the cooked breakfast, staff very friendly, all in all a very nice stay in a very traditional old English Pub.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay. Wonderful rooms great atmosphere friendly staff and amazing food. Would definitely recommend staying here.

I didn’t even have to stay at this hotel. I tried to book a room for a wedding we are attending next February. They said they had a room available so I asked to book. They said I needed to leave a deposit of £110 which I said was no problem. I gave Jacky my card details. It took her five attempts to take my correct card details. I had to repeat myself constantly. They ended up taking the payment twice so I had to have my bank intervene, and they managed to put it right. The hotel then called me yesterday to say that they wanted me to pay my deposit. I tried to explain that because Jacky had made such a mess of my booking, there was no need to leave a deposit, as this is what I was told when I phoned to let them know they had taken the payment twice. I tried to explain this to the Manager and he wouldn’t give me any opportunity to speak and continued to speak over me. Because of this, I cancelled my booking. He was so rude and the CEO of the Group is the next person to get to know! I would therefore not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!

Absolutely gorgeous, I can't praise The Lamb Inn enough. Everything was just perfect, food, surroundings, service. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Charming hotel, small but nicely decorated room with great shower. Staff were friendly, breakfast was very good and sitting by the fireplace in the bar was lovely.

Lovely old English pub, had a meal off the bar menu and couldn't fault it, it was truly lovely, the waiting staff were very helpful and professional at their job. Dimmed lighting and a proper old log fire on a cold night made the surroundings very at home. I would certainly re-visit if ever return to the Cotswolds.

Beautiful setting, beautiful inn… only let down by some — not all — of its staff. Whilst the majority of the team were welcoming, the lady heading up the accommodation was extremely unaccommodating (the irony! ), as was the young man heading up the restaurant. When checking in, we were simply shown to our rooms — practically chucked in and left. No welcome, no explanation, no interest. Dinner was the same. Anything we asked for seemed too much trouble. During our stay, we heard at least two other groups say the same thing. It's a shame really, as it really makes the difference between booking again — and never booking again.

We attended the lamb at Burford for a family occasion. The service was quite fast and we got drinks quite quickly. We had afternoon tea and there was sandwiches and a lot of cake. We would have preferred some more savory item, rather than sweet. It was a very atmospheric venue for a get together or event.

Very nice hotel, we just had a mulled wine, it had a lovely atmosphere in the bar and lounge bar areas.

I had dinner here this evening and it was quite poor. A shame as we’ve eaten here previously, about 2 years ago, and it was very good then. Their version of ‘sticky toffee pudding’ was plain sponge with some toffee sauce poured over and a teaspoon of ice cream. The sponge was warm (not hot) in the centre and completely cold on the outside, I suspect microwaved, on a stone cold plate which didn’t help. On a plus, the rooms are nice here and the log fire is lovely. That’s the only reason for 2 stars not 1.

Lovely old building with character, cosy corners and a fancy dining room. You can eat either in the bar or dining room. Great food and surprisingly reasonable for Sunday lunch.

Quaint little pub down a side street, very quirky, lovely atmosphere, beautiful beer garden at the rear, impeccable & friendly staff, and to top that… the food & beer was excellent.
Give yourself a treat and spend the morning shopping & the afternoon in here, you won’t regret it.

We only went for the food, It was lovely. The staff were really nice, the food looked amazing and tasted the same. The price was really good, my girlfriend and I both had mains and drinks for under £40. I have told my friends they should go here.

The food and service was excellent. We were here for lunch and everything was wonderful. The garden seating must be the prettiest in the whole of England. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Was very very busy when we visited, some local festival or something. This meant a wait for food but was good when it arrived. Lovely old English pub in great location. Prices reasonable. Nice beer gardens. Parking can be an issue though…

My wife and I dined in the fine dining restaurant on a Thursday afternoon. The food was fantastic, the cheese board with specially paired quinces and chutneys was a particular highlight. We were the only people in there but we were there for 3 hours. Whilst we didn't mind as it was our first time out in quite some time, there was a noticeable slow down in service towards the end of the meal. Other than that it was a lovely meal and the pub/restaurant itself is beautiful.

Stunning architectural details (not recommended for the disabled or the very tall, due to multitudinous stairs and very low ceilings, respectively), lovely antique furniture, small but comfortable rooms with modern bathroom fittings, a beautiful garden in which to sit and enjoy a glass of something in the sunshine, and an excellent kitchen and bar service all make this luxurious getaway highly recommended. The service deserves special mention, though: not only were the staff helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating during our stay, but when we discovered that we'd left my husband's jacket (containing his passport! ) behind in their lounge, Lenka the concierge rose beautifully to the occasion, arranging for them to be delivered to us right away using a trusted taxi driver for a very reasonable charge. Many, many thanks!

I was here for a meeting. Coffee good, service great, decor could do with some attention in places, but I will be back when the sun comes out, as the garden looked stunning.

Probably a 4.5 star really. Found this in the Good Pub Guide in advance of a trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park. The pub is beautiful, nice cosy bar and a lovely restaurant out the back. We sat in the bar area, 4 adults and 2 kids in highchairs. The staff were great, really friendly and helpful. The beer was good, and the Sunday roasts were really exceptional. Very very tasty. The portions weren't as big as you'd expect from a pub Sunday roast, especially at over £13, I still needed an evening meal later on! I would have had a dessert afterwards to make up for it, but all of them were £7 which I think is excessive for a sweet. That is my only criticism, so I'd highly recommend this pub to anyone who doesn't have an especially sweet tooth!

Bit of an odd place. Staff are well meaning but they really do lurk over you a lot. Sometimes they just stand there and stare at you while you're all sitting around. Not just one of them either.

Really good place. Nice little back room, hardly busy. Kids meals quite big. But Fantastic! Really recommend than any other pub/restaurant in Burford.
