A vegetarian's review. The meals for omnivores looked well presented. Actually the "panache of vegetables" accompanying them looked better than the options intended for veggies. I never understand why this is so often the case.

3 Star rating is a bit generous. Bathroom sink not attached to wall properly. Tried to wipe condensation from bathroom mirror and the entire mirror slid across the wall. Shower failed to drain properly and a couple of minutes longer bathroom flooor would have been awash. Breakfast buffet was a miserable affair minimal amount of food available under heat lamps. And what was available had bee there for some time.

Lovely old pub with fresh interior. Large extension out the back makes it ideal for larger families.

Very good for a special occasion bit pricey.

What a terrible place, I wouldnt board my dog here. i had a birthday celebration and with two guests decided to trat ourselves to dinner… BIG MISTAKE. I was refused a yorkshire pudding on the grounds that " it doesnt go with a roast pork dinner ". More seriously, an elderly vegetarian lady with serious food allergies, having been told that we were to ask for the chef, who would supply a special dish, normally used as a starter. However, even though we did request to see the chef, this was denied and we were told that we would have to have " whats on the menu ". I rang to complain, next day and was put on to the manager who said his name was SAM, who, after listening to my complaint, suggested that if I didnt like their service, then I "could consider eating elsewhere" My bill was over £150. i have another celebration coming up at the end of july and I will be going out to dinner… not at the ragged cot though. i think the service there is similar to that of fawlty towers and the manager " Sam " should be replaced immediately. avoid the ragged cot is my advice.

Quite exspencive. In the restaurant. But the "shed" coffee/Food outside was great.

Disappointed, nice place good breakfast, but the shower could not be used, far too hot. Also charged room for drinks we didn't have. Sad really.

Lovely staff! Great food! Lovely setting in the conservatory with beautiful gardens to enjoy!

Lovely place to stay. Great staff and good food. The deco is so interesting and well thought out. The shed is a nice touch at breakfast. The only down side is that in the cold weather the room I was in was cold even with the heating on the highest setting.

A friendly gastro pub with good food and service. If anything portion sizes too big for ladies!

Nice rustic setting. A bit pricey but food was extremely good and log fire was nice.

A real fire. Friendly staff. Great food and fine ale. I couldn't fault this place. If you get the chance, do pop in for a pint and a plate.

Great Gastro Pub and separate Coffee Lounge. Could not fault it… they have bedrooms too and a large well kept garden to the front and rear of the dining room. Decent sized car park with CCTV, not that it's needed around here, it's the Cotswolds don't you know!

Great evening. Great food. Great staff and service. Great choice of ales.

Initial impression: strong smell of toilets. Then: disorganised — waitresses fretting about despite few customers. Next: highly stylised, pretentious interior Then: poor vegetarian options Finally: we left.

Cake at the Shed was mediocre at best. Lots of places do nice coffee but good cake takes skill. On both visits, the cakes have been dry and bland. They’re stored on slates usually with no cover, so I guess it’s inevitable. However, good coffee shops abound in and around Minchinhampton, so for me, 2 attempts is all the Ragged Cott Shed is going to get from me. It simply isn’t worth it. Such a shame as the food and drink in the main house are always very good indeed.

Half an hour wait for a coffee. Then couldn't make it! Won't be going back. Terrible service. No one knew what they were doing. Running round but not getting things done. Headless chickens spring to mind.

The serve could have been better. Took a very long time to be given our bill. The food was adequate but the service let the evening down.

The Ragged Cot looks lovely but is tired. The upstairs rooms are so comfortably hot and have damp on the walls. The corridor to the rooms is shabby with damp patches. The staff were nice but always rushed. The bar service was poor. Their is no vegetarian option for breakfast… no mushrooms! A real let down on what I thought would be a really good place to stay.

Brilliant place. So cool. Amazing coffee and cake just a perfect mid cycle ride stop. Bar and restaurant look amazing looking forward to trying.

Lovely place. So glad we stayed here. First class service, great food and rooms very clean and comfortable. A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful area. Will definitely come back.

Went to the Ragged Cot for drinks and food, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Beautiful outside seating area, and the garden is well maintained. The staff were very helpful and I couldn't find a fault with anything about my visit there.

I strongly recommend people with children avoid this restaurant. Went out for a family meal, and when we arrived at the rather empty restuarant we were 'greeted' by a fairly aggressive and dismissive waitress who asked if we'd booked, and acted as though we'd caused her a huge inconvenience when we said no. When at the table we were told they did not have a children's menu or do smaller portions. My partner's 5 year old daughter did not want any of the roasts so we asked if she could just have a portion of bread and cheese. The waitress said she'd ask the chef and came back to tell us they had no cheese. We were surprised by this as there was a cheese board option on the dessert section of the menu, so we questioned it, but she insisted they had absolutely no cheese and were low on other ingredients too. My partner's father asked for the cheese board after the meal, and again we were told there was no cheese. However about an hour later while waiting for the bill (the service was also extremely slow), the waitress walked past us, with a cheese board for another table. My partner's father asked her why we told there was no cheese, to which she replied 'this is only brie and cheddar. It's the last one' and stomped away. I am still absolutely disgusted they refused a child food and lied so blatantly to us. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Very nice room. OK breakfast with no sweet options, only savory.

Cosy hotel. Stopped by for a drink. Friendly owner, nice fire to sit by after a cold wall! Plenty of parking. Great location when visiting tge Cotswolds countryside. Relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely stay here next time we are over that way.
