Friday lunch at the The Fleece our first visit here. We both had the fish my husband the large and I had the small. Beautiful fish and very yummy mushy peas and chips. No room for a dessert. Excellent service and great atmosphere.

Nice chilled Friday night (early) drinks. Attentive staff and good atmosphere.

A pleasant location in the heart of Cirencester. Really good food, reasonably priced and a comprehensive drinks menu. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere in a unique Tudor era hotel/restaurant. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Beautiful period building in the town centre of Cirencester. Delicious Sunday roast dinner, real ale available and good prices. Booked an overnight stay in one of the rooms which was comfortable and tastefully decorated.

Absolutely fantastic stuff from The Fleece! I went with my family for my mum's birthday today and everything was brilliant. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were attentive and friendly; despite having a full service to deal with. I would recommend it to anyone.

Had a lovely meal yesterday afternoon. Staff were excellent also.

Extremely noisy, rushed by waitress, pretentious menu with no plain sandwiches or anything simple to eat. Crowd of men shouting so impossible to have a conversation.

Lovely staff and a lovely hotel in a lovely location in the town, one downfall no parking only pay and display annoying having to keep topping up the meter, would still revisit though.

Lovely pint of Corinium Gold. Not very smoker friendly. Better at The Bear. Gorgeous pint of Butcombe Gold and plenty of outside smoking tables.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Cirencester. The setting is very pretty. The hotel restaurant is really good.
The rooms are comfortable. I was however a little hot for the night but this does not interfere with the quality of the hotel.
I recommend it.

A very nice place! I had a great smoked streaked bacon sandwich, my wife had the fish fingers sandwich. Both were excellent, as were the cappucino and the local light ale! Be sure to visit!

Ordered steak, was the best steak I've ever eaten, enjoyed with chips and onion rings and a sticky toffee pudding to follow, delicious. Staff also friendly and efficient. Thank you.

Staff are lovely, polite and very helpful, breakfast is really nice with a great choice. Room was really disappointing for the price, bed was comfortable but room was cramped & small, shower leaked, was blocked on first night but staff did sort it. Thick dust on top of head board which was not pleasant considering room was suppose to be clean, very noisy due to traffic. We won't be staying here again, I expected a better room for our money, so disappointed.

Really lovely place for a pint and burger. Was quite busy on a Saturday, but much more relaxed environment and easier to find a seat on a Sunday. Great homemade burger and good pint of Wainwright too. Recommended!

I've been to the pub twice for food and both occasions excellent. Great service and choices, very well cooked food with a cosy, relaxed atmosphere.

Excellent pub resteraunt in the heart of Cirencester. Great food and attentive service from friendly staff. Good selection of childrens food. Nice decor and lots of spaces to sit. Looks small from the street but opens up into a mix of small rooms, courtyard and pub space. Very dog friendly also.

Great place for lunch. Accept dogs on leads which is always a bonus. Food good and decor relaxing. Always a good buzz.

I went with my husband and we were lucky enough to get a seat outside. We only had a light lunch and a beer but we were able to sit and watch the world go by. We both had sandwiches which were very fresh. I had smoked chicken and pesto mayo… It was lovely ;-)

We went for lunch and drinks on Saturday midday and had a lovely time. Sat outside and was very relaxed. Enjoyed our time.

Really really lovely food. Great menu and staff and lots of space. I highly recommend this place. Was great for my family and my little neice loved her platter of food which included vegetables, ham, cheese etc so healthy rather than the fried stuff you get.

Stayed at the Fleece Inn over easter Bank holiday weekend. I would give this hotel a 10 star rating but there are only 5 stars. From start to finish this stay has been amazing. On booking the staff were amazing, helping us choose the right hotel room and reserving a room even though we were shopping around still. On arrival they took our bags to the room whilst we were out and even showed us to our room on arrival. Its the small things that make an amazing stay. The hotel room was smart and cosy. Felt more like a bedroom than a hotel. Bed was very comfy and plenty of storage for clothes etc. Bathroom was ok, but to be honest your going to be spending much time in there whilst exploring around the cotswolds. Staff very friendly and helpful and food was exceptionally good. Dog friendly and girlfriend friendly. Would Definately recommend a stay here.

Nice food. Not spectacular. Shame they don't promote local produce more. Why Lincolnshire sausages on menu and not Gloucestershire? Guess that is what comes of being a chain. Would go again though. Service was a little slow.

Really nice pub. Unfortunately, our function was scheduled at lunchtime on a Sunday. The staff and kitchen were a little overwhelmed with the level of trade and, while the food was great, there were a number of errors made in our orders, which arrived erratically. I am sure that, in a quieter period, the experience would have been much better. Also nice to see such a dog friendly pub.

Called in without reservation for lunch on a cold cold day. We were made welcome by the very friendly and helpful staff. Being a Ceoliac I was somewhat disturbed to see no mention on the main menu of gluten free options but extremely pleased to be told there was a gluten free menu available. Plenty of choice and I settled for roast chicken fricassee. While the chicken was full of flavour and well cooked I found the accompaniments a little bland. Nevertheless overall I felt satisfied with the fare. My partner, a vegetarian, telsme that while the menu initially for her was not inspiring the food she had was delicious, details not to hand I'm afraid. We had soft drinks only and did not partake of desserts, though the choice for me seemed excellent. Overall I would be happy to use The Fleece again if in the area.

Very nice cosy pub, very good food and friendly service. Food costs around £12-15 for a main so fairly reasonable. The fish platter is excellent. Dogs are allowed if on a lead. There is no designated smoking area so you have to go out on the street to smoke. Nice atmosphere.

Amazingly friendly staff. And very helpful. Brother in law was getting married and wife to be stayed there so called in to say high. Very clean very friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend that people pop in. Even the fellow patrons were chatty to me and my baby.

Personally I thought The Fleece was a lovely pub, in the center of Cirencester. The staff was lovely and served us straight away. We found a couple of tables to sit on before moving to one of the booths. I thought it was really nice in there and I'd happily return.

Lovely building recently refurbished, not that there was anything particularly wrong with it previously. Nice sandwiches and bar foods, great selection of beers on tap. Personally like to sit up at the bar if it's not too busy.

We had the seafood platter and sweet potatoe chips. Dog friendly and baby friendly highly recomend for lunch classy place with reasonable prices.

Nice hotel in the centre of Cirencester. Room was a good size and clean. Floorboards were a bit creaky but I guess that's character! Great breakfast and friendly staff.

Although a very friendly young chap took our order for 4 mains, one of the dishes served was the wrong dish. He apologised; we didn't make a big deal of it and decided to keep the mains as the waiter said it would be over a 20 minute wait for the original dish. We ordered 2 desserts which took forever but we didn't say anything and settled up the bill. The following day we thought we'd try afternoon dining and came here for Sunday lunch. Never again. The waitresses were rude and couldn't be bothered; there were no Roast Chicken meals left … obviously very popular and all gone by 2 o'clock, as were a couple of other meal options
— Get there early to avoid disappointment! Very pleased that they allow dogs, so we took ours with us who sat obediently under our table. On our way out, she got attacked by a Boxer dog at the bar without any apology by their owner. Altogether not a very pleasant experience.

Have just returned from Sunday lunch at The Fleece. First time of visit. The staff were friendly and until the last course on the ball. I opted for roast beef etc and have to say that the beef was absolutely delicious it came with a giant Yorkshire with roast potatoes and separate bowl of broccoli sugar snaps and carrots all nicely cooked and nicely presented. Instead of starters we had the equivalent of English tapas which were fine and generous. The desserts where very average with fairly small selection and besides being pricey I would hazard a guess that many of the sweets were far from home-made. Generally a nice meal in nice surroundings but at £17.50 for a two course Sunday lunch quite expensive. This is a popular place and I would advise booking.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay here. We stayed in a character room, it was lovely. A good size, very clean and comfortable. I loved the touch of being given a thermos of fresh milk for tea and coffee in the room. The service at the bar and restaurant was a little inefficient, however, when you were served the staff were very friendly. If you own a dog, this is the place for you. A dog bar, with water, biscuits and mats. Fantastic.

Went here for sunday lunch £17 for 2 courses or £20 for 3 courses (chicken or beef). Lovely pub atmosphere and great friendly service. Nice food well worth a visit.

The food was delicious and the staff helpful but never hovering. An excellent meal!

We have been there for the first time, the location, staff, atmosphere were all quite nice and on top of that the food was excellent too. We went for an easy lunch, fish and chips to be exact. And it was how it should be, not too oily, not too salty, nice golden brown crunchy batter. The mashed peas was just as minty to add a nice flavour to it, you couldn't particularly taste the mint, which is nice. I had browny with ice cream, which was just as perfectly made and the ice cream didn't melt quick so it remained frozen until the last bite and not making it soggy which I appreciate.

Attractively furnished half timbered pub and restaurant. Extended into adjacent building. Good selection of real ales.

Ordered the duck pancake rolls… there was a long blonde hair in the duck meat, and sauce was questionable… there was an extended wait for the sirloin steak and cheeseburger to arrive… the cheeseburger was very dry with no sauces… the steak was so rubbery I could not swallow it. The peppercorn sauce was like water with no taste. They offered 25% discount. I argued that this was unacceptable and the steak and duck was removed from the bill finally… now I'm off to McDonalds because it's too late to get in anywhere…

Stopped in for drink and snacks. They had live music on which was OK, can't hold it against the venue but the band could have done with some practice! Drinks were cold and fresh and the snacks we got were delicious.

The service was fast and efficient, the quality of the platter was okay but suited a shared starter. The polenta chips where not as good as those found at Pizza express. The mains where good and the price was great.

Beautiful historical hotel and impressive bar area. We particulary enjoyed the lovely newly fitted outdoor area with a relaxing vibe. Great choice of food all day and evening. The staff were very courteous and helpful.

Lovely old place, full of character and nice furnishings. We had a lovely evening in the bar and decided to eat there too as the atmosphere was really good. Had a very nice meal of fish and chips and our breakfast the next morning was weel presented and all fresh and tasty. I was a little disappointed with the bathroom in our room. The windows and blinds were quite shabby and a bit mouldy with lots of paint peeling off. The room was cozy and quaint but just needed a bit updating.

I love the atmosphere at the Fleece, it's always busy and service has improved.

I don't know if the management has changed, but I would make the following comments: When we have had friends over from America and we have brought them to The Fleece we have not been disappointed with the standard of the food. However on a recent visit, we both ordered Caesars Salad and not only was the chicken not chargrilled but the whole salad was swamped in sauce. The men's washroom lacked any alternative facility to the pull-down towel which was soaking wet and needed changing. There was no wine menu presented and we had to wait some considerable time for our drinks to arrive. Having made some reasonable comments to the young woman representing management, we were left feeling that this really didn't matter. As mentioned before, on several occasions last year, we had excellent service and lovely food and now we have been left feeling it won't be worth our coming again.

Really comfortable and enjoyable stay. Great quality of room but it has to be said that odd 'management' issues, like organisation / preperation of breakfast (and evening meals), are seriously bizarre and really take a shine off an otherwise great concept and pleasant staff approach.
