Great night out here music was fantastic.

Best place in Woodham for live music and drinks x.

Had a terrible night staying there. A live band playing really loud music till 4.30 in the morning. Won’t be going there again.

Would like to say I special. Thanks to Amber that had provided great customer service and understanding of disabilities. She has served us all well with quick efficient service! thank you for you excellent friendly and excellent service! very much appreciated! xxx.

The interior decor needs to be addressed. But such a wonderful place to spend time in. The staff go way beyond your fullest imagination.

Staff were exceptional. Very friendly and attentive. Good security. Shame their weren’t more locals enjoying the excellent band we saw. Decor not great but plenty of seating including lots of bar stools which are too few at any bar nowadays. Drinks not unreasonably priced and a good selection.

I moved to town for a new job. I stayed here for 3 weeks. No, it's not upmarket. It's not pretentious. They proudly proclaim that they are a budget hotel. During my stay, they constantly checked to make sure everything was ok. I had to stay on a couple of extra days so they rearranged other bookings so I could stay in the same room. Breakfast was great. Juice, tea, a selection of cereals and they went off menu with the cooked breakfast so I wouldn't get bored. The main thing I can say about this place though… locals drink in the bar — always a good sign! I still drink there because their regulars and staff are lovely!

Very reasonable. Nice staff and very helpful. Nice clean room, everything functional. Would stay here again without doubt or question.

The hotel is lovely and the location is perfect and so relaxing. The room was bright, airy and clean and the bed was very comfortable which is the most important point. The breakfast was also very good and the staff were really accommodating, you couldn't really ask for more. For a 2 star hotel, you get exactly what they advertise and a little more. I would definitely recommend it and would return without hesitation.

We have just stayed at this hotel, the room we were in number 9 was so scruffy holes in the curtains only one light working holes in the carpet, funny items on the ceiling, scruffy beds I could go on and one, right above the live band and then music until 1am the stairs to the rooms were disgusting, breakfast was poor would never stay here again. But on a better note very clean sheets and nice friendly staff.

We stayed for one night at the Oakland Hotel and we were very impressed with the place. When we arrived we signed in with one of the friendly members of bar staff, she told us which way we needed to go to our room and which key to use to open the door. (You get have 2 different keys but you only need 1). We got up to our room and it was the cleanest hotel room I'd ever seen in my life. The room was Modern looking and very spacious. After we put our bags away we went to the pub around the corner for some tea. When we had finished eating we went into the hotel bar where we were greeted with reasonable beer prices and live entertainment. The cover band were actually quite good. The only thing I'd suggest is to request a room on the second floor of you're staying on a Friday or Saturday night as the music in the bar can get quite loud. Apart from that it was one of the best hotels I've stayed in. After you've stayed here you can say that you've stayed in a hotel that's also been on Tele. It was on the hotel inspector.

Nice and clean but badly in need of air conditioning as was unbearable of a night and unable to keep windows open due go noise from patrons (bar open and disco until 1am 1:30am Friday and Saturday) kept us awake until around 2:30am as sat outside talking. Nor suitable for people with children due to above It was clean and bed comfy Breakfast was great continental and full cooked English Ale good In a busy shopping area.

The hotel ok have stayed there before over night no change to decor. Very basic rooms bed comfortable clean white sheets and towels. Breakfast included quite nice.

Superb for live music and good beer and staff.

3 bed room OK, bad culture awful, breakfast ok.

Well located in the centre of South Woodham Ferrers. I asked for a quiet room and got one at the back which was great. An added extra was a really good band playing in the bar in the evening.

Stayed for two nights beds like camp beds very uncomfortable. Shower didn't work & hot water trickled out so ended with a 2 inch bath. Hair dryer also broken. Holes in the curtains, would cost much to replace them!. The staff were nice & room was clean that was the only plus. Breakfast ok they could do with a new toaster it took forever. February 2018

Great place, quickly served, good prices.

Have stayed previously and was better. No mat inside bath so almost had an accident. Unable to turn radiator off, we had both windows open but room was still far to hot. Breakfast disappointing sent it back twice as cold. Was better 3rd time. Although a bit greasy. Overall clean and bed comfortable. But for money could be better.

Good place to stay in the local area with a good but small range of shops near by, and will priced with breakfast.

Not a nice place but does have a grrat Chinese restaurant attached called Yatzen.

Stayed Saturday night. Great night in bar watching local band. Nice people. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and had great facilities. Nice to have choice of bath or shower. Would definitely recommend it.

Nice clean and friendly place. Breakfast was good. Only problem was the music was too loud and didn't finish till 1 am.

Fantastic to see a hotel that hasn't forgotten what people like, the rooms were clean/comfy, the bar was good value with a wide selection of drinks (take note Travelodge! ) The staff were very friendly and the location just has everything you could possibly need within metres!

Checked in at the bar — for people moaning about the reception not being manned, its a small hotel and why have someone sit there all day from say only 3 people are checking in, ridiculous. My ròom was dated but clean and tidy I needed a flannel so the bar man improvised and gave me a bar towel I had too much to drink and the friendly bouncer helped me to my room. The band was good. Breakfast was very nice and they let me check out at 12 instead of 11 knowing that I had a 3 hour drive home. The lady serving breakfast was lovely and nothing was to much trouble for her. Down side is it appers to let unemployed drug users to fill the hotel so be careful for needles ect. Also, everyone was friendly bar the girl who was on duty Sunday morning. I was about to book another stay next weekend but she totally put me off, rude, obnoxious and argh horrible woman — customer service is not her line of career.

Absolutely discraseful! Rooms were more like an old counsel house! Dangerous, dirty, broken and out dated! Have a huge list of complaints with photos that I will b sending to management as staff were rude and Un-caring! Would never stay here again and would never recommend. And I think it's discusting having cctv cameras IN the toilets! Also I have never encountered a hotel that insists of full payment and ure bank details a day before you even arrive?!?

The main bar area was fairly large and the atmosphere was pleasant, I can't say I had a negative experience. There was enough space for my drinking crew to stop by and have a pint or two. Service was fairly decent and I'd definitely go again. Do recommend.

Exactly what you expect. Decent bed, ok shower, cooked breakfast included.

The mixer tap on the bath didn't work. Breakfast was good except the time limit for eating it was pretty small. Being 9 — 10am on Sundays.

Overall a nice stay, although it did take 15 minutes to get the shower temperature right!

Easy to get to, in a quite area. Good price on drinks nice and clean inside.

Not a bad hotel has highs and lows. The showers are poor. Tv's are tiny plugs are all far away or little of them. Room's are tidy they supply large towels breakfast was enjoyable. Very close to a Asda supermarket, Costa and other local restaurant's.

Helpfull friendly staff, breakfast was OK not a massive choice but adequate the full english was yum, again the rooms were OK tea coffee and bicuits provided bottled water would have been a bonus I would definitley stay again what I would say though is that if you have mobility difficulties, its quite a walk to some of the rooms and stairs are involved but having said that im sure if this was mentioned on booking you would get a room that was closer to reception.

The place is run down and has very expensive drinks.

Bought up in South Woodham Ferrers and now visit friends as often as possible. I always stay in the hotel. Nice spacious, clean rooms and a full hearty breakfast. In my opinion much better than the room rates would suggest.
