Delightful meal very friendly staff well done to the chef we were a table of 8 and everyone enjoyed their evening.

Beautiful food, lovely pub and restaurant and great staff especially our waiter Ascott.

We had a lovely dinner. Mark and his team made sure nothing was too much trouble. Food lovely. Mussels lovely 😋 Kids enjoyed it. So did the dog! Only suggestion would be a little kiddies menu and you are onto a winner! Thanks we will be back.

A very nice roast dinner and cheerful staff, enjoyed our visit. One suggestion though, cauliflower cheese would be amazing.

Waited about 30 mins to then had to chase someone to place our order. Then waited another 30-40 mins before our mains came out and our starters still hadn’t been cleared away. Really slow service which is such a shame as the food was lovely. The place wasn’t even busy so I feel for people having to wait at a weekend.

Not were we only fortunate enough to have a truly delicious lunch, but we also got to have incredibly friendly staff serving us, lovely atmosphere all whilst following our new ‘normal’ living. Can’t wait to go back!

Great bar, great food but only problem we had was the sash window in our room was broken so we couldn’t close it which meant traffic was loud and people’s conversations in the beer garden were clearly heard. Offered another room that was so much smaller. Not good on that count.

Omg what can I say!? rooms beautiful, staff immensely friendly and helpful and the food… the food is absolutely stunning! I asked to change rooms as the noise on the road was a bit more than this country pumpkin was used to and they helped immediately. definitely going to return!

Having visited The Minster Arms several times over the last few months I can truly say this is an amazing pub!
The staff are great, food is fantastic and the prices are reasonable (Saturday 2 courses for £10 is brilliant value).
Thoroughly recommend the pub to anyone.

Enjoyed a very competitively priced two course lunch for two people, with a drink each for less than £30.00. Bearing in mind the price, the quality and presentation of the food was excellent, the staff were helpful and extremely friendly and overall a nice lunchtime experience. Well worth a visit.

I stayed at the Minster Arms on 14th for one night. This is a superb pub/hotel/restaurant. The staff are lovely, the rooms are fantastically furnished (I still cant work out how they got that beautiful bath in my room) and I had squid ink linguine for my evening meal which was as good as any Rick Stein dish (I eat there regularly) and my eggs Benedict for breakfast was perfect. The chef treats good quality ingredients with care and respect, everyone should stay here.

Friday night meal for two… nice atmosphere, unfortunate error with order ment waiting over an hour for starters… staff were welcoming and friendly and did everything they could to smooth things over… Food was tasty… some presentation of food was good some a little disappointing. Other than the wait… a positive experience… we look forward to returning as the menu has plenty of nice looking dishes.

The old Pudding & Pie is well worth a visit, more bistro pub than watering hole but still well worth a look see.

Outstanding Pub fantastic food and amazing accommodation, the only drawback is has no car park, but there is one across the road and cheap.

Seems like quite the "local pub" where everyone knows everyone. Drinks are presented with napkins, which adds that extra little touch. The fruit is on display in large containers, which also looked incredibly clean. The staff seemed friendly, even telling me they will be with me shortly, which is always a lovely way to show acknowledgement. The outside area is also very nice. With a heater, and blankets and pillows within reach.

Thanks for a lovely lunch yesterday. Looking forward to seeing the new menu shortly :)

Nice ambience, friendly helpful professional staff, varied choices on menu. A nice restaurant where you are not rushed, good choices on menu, good wine list recommend a visit.

The first time I have ever walked out of a restaurant. I thought we had been sensible and booked a nice and early table for 7pm but on arrival no table ready, admittedly the bar was busy. Waited 10 minutes and the table was ready squashed in a corner pew! Ordered drinks, didn't arrive so after 30 minutes asked for some water, ordered food, still no drinks of any sort, finally left at 8pm to a startled look on the servers face. What happened to this place? Has Gemma gone to pastures new?

Great pub with good selection of beers. Had 3 course Christmas meal here. Can’t complain. Attentive staff, good food, clean and tidy decor.

Such slow service for our group of 9 on Saturday 9th Dec for our family Christmas get together, gave up so we all left when by 10.15pm we still hadn't been given our dinners. Arrived at 8pm table not ready, finally seated waitress very rude when we asked to put in extra seats, showed us to table and stomped off. Nobody came to table for an hour and even then only when asked. Then over hour later still no dinners.
Gave up and we all walked out headed to who were fab and had all 9 dinners out within 20 mins…
Bah humbug Minster Arms!

We had a table booked for 8:15pm. At 9pm after prompting, our order was finally taken and at 10:15pm when our meals had still not arrived we walked out. Staff were friendly enough and apologetic but enough was enough. Can't comment on the food but would you wait for 2 hours to find out?

Warm and friendly, great food. A place to go after a winter stroll to warm you toes next to the fire, dogs are very welcome with treats and water.

First class service, lovely food and a great drink selection. Beautifully decorated in a great location to explore historic Wimborne. Just changed to 4 stars from 5 as recent Sunday lunch was cool and only 1 half of a Parsnip.

Great decor and really good food at lunch. Usually quiet ever I've been in there but a lovely atmosphere regardless with all the candles and leather sofas.

Disappointed with very slow lunch. We arrived at 1pm on a Thursday wanting a relaxed lunch after driving though Dorset. Their credentials state that they are "vegetarian friendly" which might mean they let vegetarians in, but they had better not eat there unless you consider a fish to be a vegetable. The menu was very meat and fish based. The staff were polite and friendly but the service was achingly slow. As far as I could tell there were only four tables dining in this sizeable pub and yet our burgers, mussels and chips took nearly an hour to arrive at our table. And more disappointingly the burgers were overcooked and dry, and the buns were more burnt than toasted. But by the time the food came we were too hungry to send it back. We mentioned it to the staff, who acknowledged it but didn't offer anything off the bill. I'm giving it 2 ⭐️ because it was a pleasantly decorated pub which would be good for a drink but don't bother eating.

Very disappointed to receive a phone call this afternoon telling me you couldn't honour my TablePouncer booking for tonight as you have a group of 20 people booked at the same time. I was offered one hour earlier, but nothing later — felt very much it was take it or leave it! Not very apologetic. I cannot fault your food as I've eaten with you before, this is why I chose to book with you for my birthday this evening. So when I asked about the £15 I have already paid via TablePouncer for the booking to be told quite abruptly I would need to take it up with TablePouncer! Surprise surprise no refund forthcoming from TablePouncer — thanks Minster Arms! Can I recommend you don't offer tables to TablePouncer if you cannot accept the bookings!

Very lovely meal steaks perfectly done. Lovely atmosphere only disappointment was we never got offered the dessert menu so therefore, ended up asking for it.

Had a lovely meal yesterday for hubby's birthday. Great food, and they welcomed the children with a special menu. Only downside was having to wait almost sn hour for dessert, but they did get a bit busy!

This is a lovely place for a drink and food. We've been a few times and the service and quality has been excellent on each occasion. It's definitely becoming a regular destination for lunch out!

There was quite a long wait for food. However the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. They have a nice selection of different drinks, and look and feel of the place is very nice. We will definitely return.

Went with friends on sat eve for a meal. Was extremely busy and waiting staff who were doing their best were just rushed off their feet. Our food order once placed took over an hour to arrive (we were a party of 4) and when it did it was very poor. We spoke to the manageress who was very pleasant and very apologetic and we did have a very good reduction to our bill.
We won't return to this restaurant and am afraid would not recommend.

They kindly fitted us in our boxing day. Nice atmosphere, good food & very friendly staff. Will visit again. Parking not very good though.
