Stayed here 3rd to 5t September. Loved it. Lovely comfortable bed. Richard and his wife were lovely hosts.

Great food We had sizzlers from their specials followed by home made cobbler puddings. Scrumptious.

"A diamond find" friendly helpful owners and staff good food good selection of beers and spirits. Very friendly atmosphere from all. Great band "Into the Blue" we will be back… Phone Direct for booking.

The landlord and his wife are very friendly and welcoming. Had a lovely stay 2 nights, room tastefully done spacious ensuite double size walk in shower. Would recommend it as a great place to stay.

What a find! This beautiful English country pub is really worth a detour. The welcome was warm and the atmosphere very relaxed, with Richard and Clare, the new Landlords, doing everything possible to ensure that we had an enjoyable stay in this charming village. We thoroughly enjoyed the food at the George — breakfast and evening, a well-chosen and beautifully presented dinner menu complemented by a superb choice of real ales and wines. We particularly appreciated the fact the pub and accommodation is dog friendly and this only added to our experience, with a good mixed crowd of regulars, visitors and their dogs enjoying the ambience (and the live music on Sunday afternoon). Finally, the rooms were comfortable, clean and met our needs perfectly, and we will most certainly be returning before long.

Don't bother, drive past there is a really good restaurant a mile further on… We came here hoping to get a nice meal but were ignored from the moment we entered, even though they knew we were there. We left. Probably never trying it again.

Lovely pub Great hosts and good beer. Great place to stay whilst exploring the Jurassic coast.

Not tried the food yet but the proprietors and locals are nice and friendly and the beer is excellent. 4 good local real ales on tap for our visit.

Lovely place. Had Sunday Dinner. 2 choices of meat. Chicken or Gammon. Husband was looking to have a better choice and wasn't offered a choice of beef or lamb on menu. £11 per head.

Great music with Adam Sweet — a rare local talent set in a great pub — a real pub, becoming a rare commodity.

A lovely old pub with a wonderful atmosphere. Delicious homemade food, well cooked. Landlord/landlady very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend. Worth a visit.

Lovely country pub with friendly staff and a warm welcome. The meal was lovely, home cooked and very reasonably priced. I am looking forward to going there again and would definitely recommend it.

Went to the George last night to celebrate my husbands birthday, knowing that the George has very recently changed hands, we thought we would try it out as it is our local and it was their first night that they were serving food as the kitchen needed some work done on it, we thought they would have to try and make a good impression. We were very disappointed we had to wait ages, when our food did arrive the food was terrible, it was over cooked, my daughter had a burger she said that it was very dry and burnt on the edges, the chips were dark brown and not many of them, my husband had fish and asked for some tartar sauce they replied that they did not have any, there was no salt and pepper on the tables. There was wood in the open fire place but it was not lit, so it was quite cold in there. The price was disgusting for the quality of food we received. The pudding board arrived on our table that was also expensive and very limited choice there was Apple crumble, Chocolate sponge or Mango sorbet all at £6 or Ice cream at £5.50 that was it. Really disappointed as this is a really nice village pub, but it does need decent food.

Only went there for drinks, bt a nice country pub with a lovely atmosphere.

Just had a lovely meal/evening at The George. I had steak and ale pie which was beautifully cooked, my husband had a burger served very nicely with chips and coleslaw. Both were delicious, very warm welcome, excellent service and very kind to our dog, who came with us.

Fantastic short stay for my wife and myself. The pub is a real treasure, the most tranquil location in an idyllic village, and the regulars are real characters! The owners were very welcoming and chatty, and the food second to none. Perfect base for visiting the costal resorts and the market towns. Highly recommended!

Traditional pub with good food and friendly atmosphere.

In a nice quiet village off the main drag. Delicious steak and wine on a Thursday, for a great price. Would highly recommend. Real ales available as well as a skittles alley.

Fairly cheap place to stay with a bar on the premises. Breakfast is very good. Standard full English and they serve food in the evening too (though I didn't have any). The rooms are not anything special. It's quite small and the decor is very old. Big problem for me is the lack of Wi-Fi in the bedroom!

Great food and atmosphere. Reasonably priced.
