Great food and service and has a lovely pub atmosphere also it’s dog friendly perfect.

We book for a party of 8, our table was ready for us by the time all our party had arrived. Staff are friendly and very attentive, food and drink were serve in good time and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. Food was delicious and well worth the price. Even the youngest of our group ate well and finished all the food.

Cold food. Poor quality food. Wrong orders. Staff rude. Shuved around the place as staff kept taking our tables and chairs telling us it was booked. No reserve on the table. We kept moving yet no one sat in the places we was asked to move from. Disgusting place.

Lovely pub, for my mums birthday. Nothing to much trouble.

Had the most amazing breakfast. Lovely setting, fab staff and good value for money. I would totally recommend the Halfway Inn.

Food served quickly and was piping hot. As it was very quiet my expectations were not high however I was pleasantly surprised. Overall service was very good, as was the beer. Too much batter on the fish and chips and pricing is just a tad on the high side but I can recommend this place and I shall be going again.

The food here is reasonably priced, which makes you completely unprepared for how good the quality of the food is, or how generous the portions are. A really nice, characterful building with a very nice garden — there are even a couple of summer houses to sit in, in case of inclement weather. There's a kids play area and even camping pitches for not as much as you'd think!

A good stopover on our way down to Dartmoor. Well-maintained facilities with great shower block. Everything was spotless. The pub had Jail Ale … highly recommended. Just delicious. However, our mackerel pate had very little toast — it was mainly air-holes. We had to keep asking for obvious things like cutlery and dressings. At breakfast our toast didn't arrive and my avocado and salmon didn't turn up to accompany my poached eggs. Staff were pleasant… but training in taking orders is definitely needed!

Good campsite. Clean, good facilities including laundry. Serves breakfast from 7:30am which is also brilliant. Good food in the restaurant, friendly staff too.

Great location, great facilities for camping and nicely decorated pub! Food was disappointing though and maybe needs some attention, think improving the quality of the ingredients would help a lot! Staff were friendly and attentive, a nice relaxing experience all round.

Never again. Dry macaroni cheese. Fish special was small and didn't taste good. Service not good… asked for water several times ended up getting it myself. Deserts pleasant but 8 pounds for cheese and biscuits a little heavy. Decor fine renovation fine outside fine but food and service poor. Will probably survive by passing trade not by reputation or many repeat customers. 270 pounds wasted as far as I was concerned.

This pub has been nicely refurbished and has a great outdoor eating area. Excellent menu and mains were beautifully presented. However the lemon meringue pie was awful Topping bore little resemblance to meringue and lemon filling was chewy and tasteless. I tried to give some gentle feedback on this when paying the bill as it seemed at odds with the other food we had seen or eaten, but it was not well received. Hence only 4 stars.

The food is amongst some of the tastiest in the world and I've been to many places. The staff are friendly, very considerate and overall the atmosphere is relaxed and very warm. Would highly recommend you visit.
