We got married here yesterday and cannot thank all the staff enough. Nothing was too much trouble and always went over and beyond for everyone on our special day so thank you again. Mr and Mrs Smith.

The Sunday roast was delicious! Portions are very generous, the food was piping hot, and the meats were tender. The staff were all lovely, too.

I did a Breakfast talk there this morning. I love the place. Bright open room with oak beams and countryside views. Warm and friendly staff and great value. Excellent base location to explore parts of Derbyshire. Superb for team retreats, wellness events etc. I'll be back as a customer and with some events. Thanks to the Lumb Farm team xx.

I’ve waited a while to write a review on our wedding day 5th July 2019 but felt I needed to give a review. All staff were very hard working
And the venue/ rooms/ disco/sit down meal were lovely. I do feel the buffet was a big let down even given we had the basic option (still pricey)
It wasn’t nice on our wedding day to have guests complaining about it (I no you can’t please everybody but even we had to agree). And I was disappointed that given lots of notification to put up a cot bed in one room for my son to my surprise he had to sleep in bed with my relative. (I do understand it’s busy and a wedding but with 1 years notice …) I did feel hurried out in the morning as we had a Friday wedding they had a booking for the next day. I do have to add I was very heart broken our wedding guest book had been misplaced when clearing up I understand accidents can happen but would recommend careful handling of these sentimental items. Not wanting to put anybody off this venue it is lovely but I do feel a few minor improvements it would be excellent.

Perfect venue, amazing and passionate staff and very affordable. Perfect venue for any bespoke wedding or even. They literally don't try and push anything onto you like other venues would (drinks packages, etc. ) there are no hidden costs for anything like I know other places charge per seat cover and little thinga like that… They let you use as much or as little of the decorations/props they have for no extra charge whereas again, other venues would. Just a perfect venue for a perfect day. Kendal, Leah and all of the staff did a fantastic job hosting our wedding and the whole process was stress free —

Stayed at lumb farm for a beautiful family wedding beautiful setting amazing wedding room, food amazing staff very friendly and helpful, amazing breakfast, rooms are of a very good standard ask for shower room will return to lumb farm in the future, had a problem with room but sorted and swapped the owner Kendall is very professional and sorted us very compassionately thank you Kendall and all staff at lumb farm.

Had my little boys birthday party there yesterday afternoon, staff are really polite and helpful.
Food was lovely, even down to the home made sausage rolls!

Me and my partner went to lumb farm today to view their venue for a possible place to have our wedding. All staff welcomed us with open arms. All questions were answered perfectly! Nothing was too much. I was in love with their venue that much that I have booked our wedding their in 2021! I was looking on their Facebook page a few days before we went, honestly the pictures do not do it justice.
The staff was reccomending places to go dress shopping etc they were very helpful and friendly. So exited to have mine and my partner's big day there! would definitely recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful time at lumb farm for my daughters christening earlier this month. The beautiful, pristine room, tasty and generous buffet, and attentive and competent staff are just a few of the reasons we always return here for special occasions.

Had a lovely 30th birthday afternoon tea today for 24 people! Couldn’t of asked for a better service I would highly recommend and the sandwiches and cake were to die for! Many thanks to Kendall and Lyndsey xx.

Modern, friendly & pleasant staff, comfortable & fully working amenities. Quite easy to miss turning as hotel is set back from road accessible by an initial rough tarmacked road.

I have had two baby showers here, one was a sit down meal and the other was afternoon tea. They was both lovely and the food was great. The staff are really polite and helpful. I will definitely be back for future events x.

We stayed at Lumb Farm country club on 13th August, when we arrived we had a lovely welcome, very friendly and was made to feel welcome. The room had everything in there, very clean and comfortable. We had a meal in the restaurant in the evening, it was very good, we apologised for not being able to eat all the food, too much for us. The breakfast was just as good, good selection. I must mention how good the staff were would recommend Lumb Farm to anyone. Dennis and Anne Morgan.

Been for afternoon tea today with my two sisters and my mum as a belated mothers day treat, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of sandwiches you get compared to several afternoon teas we have been to before. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent, our scones were fresh from the oven and all sandwiches and cakes were fresh aswell as a large salad bowl and also dish of crisps which is a rarity for an afternoon tea. We will definitely be returning and cannot compliment the whole experience enough. Many thanks.

Went for an afternoon tea today with my family as I’m getting married here in September. The afternoon tea was absolutely gorgeous, they did a little afternoon tea for my niece who’s 2 as well and she absolutely loved it. The staff are really lovely and make the place lovely and welcoming. I can’t wait to get married here and I couldn’t recommend it any more!

Visited lumb farm many many times over the years, even had our wedding there five years ago. Disappointing today. No napkins, no salt, no serving spoons. Ran put of one of the starters which we wanted, and one of the puddings that we wanted, no apology made. This time last year we got far to much of everything, this time we didn't get enough. Where have the lovely massive home made Yorkshire puddings gone and the cauliflower cheese. None of the serving staff asked if our meals where ok or if we needed anything else. Can I add, that the food we did get was very nice, just the small things that need improving. Hope things improve a little for Christmas day lunch.

Comfortable quite a quick service Menu could be slightly bigger but adequate.

Great location, quiet area within distance of Derby, Nottingham and Matlock Bath. The room was very clean and modern and quite spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful when you need them. Breakfast was nice and we also had a evening meal which was homemade, delicious! After our evening meal we relaxed in the bar area on the sofas and had a few drinks watching the TV. Very relaxing atmosphere. Also, love the Donkeys in the front field.

Well where do I start? WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE. Me and my family attend lumb farm every birthday, mothers day, fathers day, Christmas, new year and for Sunday lunch. All staff dressed very smart, very polite, always smiling, make you feel welcome every time you go in. Food is AMAZING as always, always lovely hot food, always a variety of what to eat on the menus especially for gluten free people (my sister is gluten free) always a variety of foods she can always have and with other foods as well… and food is always presented professionally on your plate. FAST service. Lumb farm is always clean and tidy and everything is well organised. Very welcoming place, always helping their customers. All staff have so much respect for every one. I love lumb farm. They are ALL absolute STARS a+++++++++++++++++++ lumb farm keep going you are doing a BRILLIANT JOB.

Had my daughters 18th birthday dinner party here. Full 3 course meal at a very reasonable price. Food was delicious as it is every time we come here for meals.
We had a Large party of around 30 people all being served together and although a little confusion with what people ordered, which was more our fault than theirs, the whole night went to plan without any complaints. Spoke to a number of guests from our party who have all said how lovely the food was and what an enjoyable night they had.
I especially liked the fact that we were seated in a separate room to the other diners which was great as there was plenty of room for the kids (and there were quite a few) to run around and not get into mischief or annoy any other diners.
I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and compliments to the chef for a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

Avoid, avoid avoid, the most unprofessional place iv ever eaten, we booked lumb farm for our family's Christmas dinner (13 of us) what a disappointment, the starter was a plate of tomato ketchup, 3 chicken strips and a side salad, there was so much ketchup on the plate it was all over the salad disgusting the chicken strips definitely the frozen type, the main meal was dry and the vegetables hard, deserts were not much better, my biggest complaint is with the management, a few people in our party had to cancel due to illness, they called lumb farm 24hr before Christmas day and was told it would not be a problem to cancel they would just lose their deposit paid, this was agreed with 2 x different members of staff but on the day they charged us the full amount for the people who did not attend, we was then left arguing with staff for over 1 hour on Christmas day to get the money returned, they eventually returned some of the money but insisted on keeping the deposits and additional money on top of that, please please think again about eating here and never never pay them in advance for anything because should there be an issue of any kind you will have a massive problem getting any if your money back, the management and owners did not care that we had spent £1000.

I am really surprised to read the below review regarding bad service. Over the past few years our family has had many events booked through lumb farm, including birthday partys and a wedding. The staff at Lumb Farm have never been able to do enough for us on every occasion and have always delivered on their promises. They also have an excellent restaurant which we try and visit as often as possible, and have honestly never had a bad meal there. The portions are very generous and offer excellent value for money when compared with the other options in the area (chain pubs etc). There is always plenty of food, and home cooked chips, none of the frozen rubbish. The staff are very attentive and always ensure that you are enjoying your meal and having a good time and I have never had a bad meal there. I think in terms of being local you could not wish for better value for money, food and service are always consistent. There's always plenty of choice on the menu and plenty of specials to add some variety into the mix — I think the place definitely deserves to be busier than it is, so why not give it a try?

Well, where do I start? first of all, there was no steak, and no fish and chips available, which happened to be what most of us wanted. In failing that, we then ordered, only to find out that the vegitarian option was also unavailable. After a brief conversation about this with the waitress, she then told me that actually, she could make the meal, which is strange as five mins earlier it was completely unavailable… seems to me like the staff were just being too lazy to cook it from scratch as there was non ready prepared! when the food arrived, the cheese and broccoli was cold, and watery! the lasagne barely looked anything like what one would imagine a lasagne to look like, and there was only one plate that did not get any complaints, out of nine. When the bill arrived and we tried to have a word to the staff about our disapointment with the food and service, they argued with us! I was under the impression that the customer was always right, but clearly not at Lumb Farm! Overpriced, badly cooked food, and lack of empathy from the staff! I would NOT go there again, and NOT recommend it to anyone!
