The Priory Guesthouse is a very comfortable well run guesthouse by Chris & Sarah they have something quite special here. The rooms are so tastefully done and lovely beds you don’t want to get out of. The Coach House we stayed in for one night with family and again a very comfortable cosy cottage with plenty room and well equipped kitchen. The court yard is so charming with part of the old walls intact perfect for sitting out. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we’ll get to visit again sometime.

Spent a couple of excellent nights at The Priory; we had 2 rooms which were both really spacious and comfortable. We were all made to feel really welcome, including our 2 lively dogs! The breakfasts were excellent and our hosts Sarah and Chris were very accommodating and friendly — highly recommend.

We had an amazing 2 nights in a wonderful location with a beautiful room. Sarah and Chris are exceptional hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The room has everything and more and the attention to detail is second to none. Will definitely be back and would recommend this fabulous place xxx.

Wonderful hospitality in beautiful Wensleydale. A comfortable and spacious room, delicious breakfasts and an excellent location. The owners make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble. Recommend completely.

Every detail has been thought of and tastefully done — bubble bath in a red wine decanter for example. Nothing was too much trouble for Sarah and Chris — they were perfect hosts. And breakfast … yum yum!

I’d say I have high standards but this establishment is faultless on our third visit. Two rooms on the top floor are tasteful and luxuriously appointed with stylish bathrooms serviced with everything you need. Breakfast is excellent with very high quality produce served with a smile. Nothing is too much trouble and Chris and Sarah are sublime hosts. Thoroughly recommended.

Stayed here a few years ago now in The Coach House at the back of the guest house. Fabulous place to stay, the smell of sumptuous cakes being made each morning was fabulous. The guest house had really beautiful rooms and the coffee house at the front was always busy. Every man woman and especially dog was made more than welcome.
Would recommend this place to anyone.

Fabulous stay at the Priory. Stayed in the green room it was a large room & comfy large bed with lovely views of the court yard. There was still ample space even with an extra bed for my daughter. Breakfast was lovely with the option of cereals, yogurt & hot food. Owners were friendly & helpful. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely welcome to a truly super guesthouse. Lovely decor and food. We had a really nice stay.

We stayed at the Priory as we were attending the 40s weekend in Leyburn, We were looked after very well by the hosts Chris and Sarah. As we couldn't get a taxi in to Leyburn Sarah kindly drove us in, that's over and above great service,. We stayed in room 6 which overlooked the castle, the room was excellent and the breakfast was lovely, great choice and very filling, we would definatly recommend staying there.

What a weekend We booked relatively last minute for a weekend away during May Bank Holiday 2018. Wanting to make the most of our time we travelled up on Friday evening and looked forward to a nice lay in bed on Saturday morning. We woke to the wonderful sound of horses passing the guesthouse on their way up to the moorland gallops, and what a wonderful sight as a string of horses trotted up the narrow road, on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend. Peeping out of the window to watch the horses pass by, we were also treated to the wonderful view of Middleham Castle, directly outside our window — its such a beautiful town — more like a villlage, but don't let the locals know :) Sarah and Chris have made us feel so utterly welcome and relaxed in their home that for the first time in a very long time, we were able to just sit in the sun, eating the Victoria Sponge which was our special treat from Sarah. The beds — divine. The food — luscious. The welcome — warm and friendly. We couldn't have wished for a more wonderful weekend and we're already planning our next stay at this wonderful gem of a place. Thank you for making our stay so very special. Bev & Chris, Sheffield.

Comfortable clean rooms maintain their character alongside modern ensuites with quality toiletries and homely touches. Breakfasts are excellent and cooked to order. Plenty of lovely pubs close by for evening meals.

Fabulous place, the hosts are very nice and make you feel at home. Yummy brekkie in the lovely decorated dining room. Peaceful room with everything we needed. Fab location. Would certainly stay again xx.

Had another fabulous stay at the Priory this time in the blue room. The copper bath was gorgeous with the best bubble bath ever. A fabulous place to relax and unmind and see my beloved racehorses. Highly recommend this place… thank Chris and Sarah see you again soon.

Set in an amazing part of Yorkshire the rooms and service offered match the stunning surroundings. And the small village of Middleham sports three very different pubs providing a variety of beers and food. A smashing place to use as your base for exploring the dales and surrounding countryside. Chris and Sarah are great hosts who are successfully updating the Priory that dates back to the 1600s.

I had a very pleasant stay. The rooms are very well appointed and good size. The Breakfast is very good with plenty on the plate. The Hosts are very pleasant and very knowledgeable about the district. Definitely stay there again.

We stayed here in the castle view room for our wedding anniversary and it is amazing. You would never believe it is dog friendly as it is so clean and the decor is lovely. Our room had a huge copper bath. The hosts are very welcoming and the dog even got his own sausage for breakfast! Would highly recommend and can't wait for another excuse to stay here again.

We had a beautiful room with exquisite bath and shower room. Delicious breakfast cooked just as we wanted it. Nothing was too much trouble and cleanliness was of an extremely high standard. The bed was comfy with lovely white bed linen. Fresh milk, bottled water, a good selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, plus biscuits every day were much appreciated and enjoyed. Sarah and Chris are a lovely friendly couple and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Middleham is a very special place for us and now we wouldn't stay anywhere else. The room was to die for (especially the massive copper bath and all the little touches, not to mention the uninterrupted lay in! ) and the service & food was second to none! We'll definately be back for our special anniversary next year! Thanks again Gemma & Dave xxx.

Fab food, run by great people! The sandwiches were huge and the cakes looked amazing shame that we were too full to enjoy one!

I cannot speak highly enough of The Priory and its charming, friendly hosts. The rooms are super comfortable, spotlessly clean with fantastic attention to detail — toiletries, welcome tray, bed linens etc. Add to that the superb breakfast with quality ingredients and your joy is complete! It also has a tea-room with delicious home made cakes. All in a beautiful and interesting location. I want to revisit — soon!

We stopped here for a sandwich and some cake. The staff made us feel like we were having lunch at a friend's house, chatting to us and helping to keep our son entertained while we ate.

Stayed for one night wish we could have stayed longer Chris and Sara perfect hosts, location was brilliant food superb well worth a visit would highly recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely stay and would like to return. Charming room and so well equipped with various teas and toiletries. Possibly the best place we have stayed! Value for money too. Oh and the food is good as well!
