Hostel

Tired and a bit lacking for a youth hostel. A large group were in our building and they were up and slamming doors at 5:30 for at least an hour. The YH could have warned us of the group before we arrived and given us options. The staff were rather sour too. Not expected in a YH.

Nice and comfortable with good service. Rooms a bit damp sometimes and lights are dim but otherwise great!

Lovely, warm and comfortable. Just what we needed after a long days walking.

Stayed in a 6 bed private room with my husband and our 3 children (first time for me and the children) so wasn’t sure what to expect and I wasn’t disappointed. Lovely catering facilities everyone was really friendly. Our room was nice and clean too. Will definitely be staying again.

Nice clean room and very comfy beds! Was a bit dumbfounded at check in as did not realise that I needed photo ID to check in and I did not have any. Fortunately they accepted my 40 year old driving licence and bank cheque card.

Perfect place to stay to explore around Malham. Staff very friendly and helpful and rooms are clean and comfy.

It's ok, grumpiest reception I've ever experienced in a YHA… except last time I was here! The self catering kitchen is well equipped but too small for the hostel. Otherwise facilities are pretty much as you'd expect with one of the newly homogenised YHAs. Excellent location with some lovely walking and climbing but be aware there are no useful local shops so bring what you need.

Stayed in a camping pod with my son. It’s a great location and a lovely place to stay. We managed to get parked right outside but there doesn’t seem to be enough parking for the amount of guests as people did have to pull in and out to load their cars up. There is food available but we didn’t eat there, although the self catering and catered facilities seemed really clean and well looked after.
It was handy to have the SC kitchen just to make brews. The kitchen was busy with lots of people at tea time.
We ate at the Lister Arms next door which was nice but not cheap. Nice beer and a roaring fire made for a lovely relaxing evening.
We had a fantastic nights sleep, the heater seemed small but warmed up quickly and kept the pod nice and toasty.
I’d advise taking an extra light as there’s just one small lamp and a multi gang extension for charging purposes as there’s only 2 sockets. There are 3 hooks for hanging coats and handbags which is handy. In better weather the small outside area would be a nice place to sit and enjoy the evening.
We made use of the drying room which managed to dry a soggy boot overnight.
Staff were really friendly and welcoming. We would be pleased to go back.

The pods are amazing. YHA have definitely improved their accommodation facilities in recent years. I am deducting a star because the self catering facilities were, in my opinion, below par.

We travelled as a large group. The hosts were fantastic and accommodated our needs. The food was great and filling. The rooms were suitable for what we required and were comfortable. We used it as a base to explore Malham Cove, Janet's Foss and Gorsdale Scar.

Amazing Place. Great walks around the place and right next to the small town of Malham. There is an option to rent out the hostel as well as staying there on a trip. Comfortable rooms with very clean bathrooms nearby. All in All a nice place to stay. ❤❤❤

Great hostel with fab showers and fully equipped kitchen in a great location in Malham village. It's right next to the Lister Arms too for lovely food and drink. The bunk beds were comfortable too. Book ahead. This hostel gets busy!

Great for a large group holiday, with lots of meeting rooms and wonderful countryside. As long as you're OK with bunk beds!

Stayed in a pod, has a heater and two single beds that are comfy enough. Can charge ohones inside pod, but Wi-Fi doesnt reach. Access to kitchen and shower and toilets in a bkock very close to pods. Very friendly staff, close to the natural beauty malham has to offer. Good value for money. Pods warm with heater on, would definitely stay in one later in the year also.

Had one night here with my family of 2 adults and 3 children. This was my first ever stay at a YHA and was not sure what to expect. What a lovely place to stay. Receptionist was so fab and very helpful and interacted well with my children and their many questions. We stayed in the family room. When handing over the keys the receptions told my children they had the best room in the place and they ran with excitement to open the door to our room. They were not disappointed. Thank you for a lovely warm welcome and making our stay extra special. We will definitely be back and will be very happy to try another YHA again.

Wonderful place, friendly helpful staff. Gorgeous setting with wonderful views. Room was just big enough and clean too :) would have like 2 pillows personally on the bed. But otherwise can't fault the place. I mean what do you want for £30 for 2 people for night.

Great place! Staff are friendly and the amenities are awesome. Parking can be a little tricky due to lack of space but why take up more of the beautiful landscape for that!

Good clean accommodation. Great location. You can walk from the front door. Parking a bit tight and bunk beds a bit high for kids.

It was very fun here, had lot's of fun and the scenery is just amazing. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay, relax and enjoy visit Malham.

Lovely setting. Quiet. Good showers. Comfy beds. The only complaint I would offer is to go back to the old way of keeping a % of beds for walkers. When a school books the whole building for a week it severely impacts the plans of others.

A very clean place to stay in a great location for all that stay! Would defiantly recommend to friends and others visiting I'm the area.

Great and the cakes are wonderful.

Decent Wi-Fi, pretty warm, modern inside and lots of room. Duvets are warm af and TV is qual.
