Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was lovely clean and spacious with great views. Food was slightly expensive but superb. (But it was valentines night so to be expected). Booked again for later this year.

Just spent a fabulous few days at Aysgarth. The staff were all welcoming and friendly and couldn’t do enough to make you feel at home. The room was clean and warm with plenty of tea and coffee provided. We had breakfast which had many choices including a wonderful vegetarian option. I did need to request half a portion as it was very plentiful. The meals in the evening were filling and just what was needed after being out walking. We are hoping to get back again for the spring/summer as well.

Just had a lovely overnight stay in the campsite, with an evening meal in the bar. The food was amazing, staff where friendly, welcoming and very efficient, location was perfect for visiting the falls and local walks, the campsite was quiet and very clean. It was a perfect quick break away from mundane life, thank you very much 🥰

We stayed here for two nights last week and Heather and the team made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and they were very attentive. We stayed in the annexe which was a fantastic space with beautiful views. We had booked to eat in the hotel both nights of our stay and the food was really good. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent food and service. Had the vegan pie, chips and peas. Pie was a curried cauliflower and potato, pastry was brilliant. Nicely presented too.
Good selection of beers, ales and ciders.
There was also a lovely beer garden with a park.
Car park available and 200 yards from Aysgarth Falls.

Lovey hotel and restaurant, fantastic food and service, excellent all round, stayed in the hotel and on the caravan site our favourite go to place.

It was a difficult choice between yes and no for a recommendation. I went with no but a maybe might have been more appropriate. The good bits, lovely location, very picturesque area. The bad bits, we hadn't realised that the camping was pretty much where the caravanning/motorhome pitches are. We had thought the ten spaces were separate. To find the 'quiet, peaceful' camping we expected, was actually much busier than two toilets and two showers cater for, along with pretty much everyone from the camping field traipsing past our door every verse end, most of whom seemed to need to bring their dogs to help them wash up/have a pee/have a shower/empty rubbish, was a surprise. If you are a fan of small site camping, give it a swerve. If you are happy amongst larger numbers, then give it a go. It does have a lovely outlook and is in a beautiful part of Yorkshire.

Visit the local area. Easy walk to the fabulous falls.

Lovely falls. You can park in the National Parks car park for a small charge, I think its roughly £4.5 for over 2 hours. There is a nice trail laid out and you could even walk to Bolton Castle and back if you're up for a long walk!

Clean and open to the public. Was in full flood spectacular, now clear fresh Water, you must visit all three falls most people only see the top/road side one Tea room and gift shops. Ice cream available. Small charge for the car park. Visitor information and the history and film locations are available. Beautiful well worth a visit. Breathtaking.

Absolutely beautiful and free! When the sun is out, it's amazing. Nice easy walk for anyone. Can easily see the upper, middle and lower falls within an hour. Two if you like to take thousands of photos and have a picnic along the way. No barriers in places so common sense is needed. Car park is £2.50 for 2 hours which isn't too bad. Toilets and cafe available and cafe seating area is open even after the cafe closes. Nice place to sit and enjoy wildlife.

What an amazing location. Can imagine that no two visits to this place will be the same. We visited in July and could actually walk through the centre of the river traversing the rocks. The river bed looks like what you would imagine the surface of the moon to be like. There are numerous water falls and pools of crystal clear water. Will definitely be visiting here again especially during the winter months to see the river in full flow.

Very relaxing area. Aysgarth falls hotel food and service excellent. Falls were very weak due to hot dry weeks. Little cafe by bridge worth a visit keeping local heritage alive. Will be back. River Yore walk to castle Bolton and back across stepping stones sealed a great day.

Stunning! Beautiful! A real gem! A must see attraction for all… every turn there is another photo opportunity! You cant fail to be inspired.

It is best to park up in the nominated parking area as soon as you take the road to the falls. Walk on down, passing the old mill on your right. Visit the tea rooms of course. Carry on down, over the road bridge, and on the left take the permissive path to get close to the falls. You will be right on the river and a great place for a picnic. Well worth a visit.

If you love the Dale's Aysgarth Falls is a must. Don't be tricked into parking in The Falls car park but go to the National Park carpark. Great for information and as a starting point for your own walks or to follow their trails. A great starting point whatever you choose.

A beautiful place to visit. The upper falls have a field with space for a picnic next to them. It's shallow enough in places to paddle with supervision. The parking area is set away from the falls and has toilets but it's a 10 min walk to get there over rough ground so could be difficult for those with limited mobility. (I managed the walk using my walking stick).

Great spot. Bring money for the car park. There is a nice cafe and visitors centre. Lovely walks around the falls themselves. Pub close by if you fancy a drink after a walkabout. Lots of dogs.

Arrived home today after 3 nights at the campsite. What a beautiful location, stunning hotel and grounds, lovely staff and delicious food. We had some beautiful walks around the area, so picturesque. The staff were helpful and courteous. The Sunday lunch was absolutely amazing and loved how welcome our doggy was too. We would love to come here again but there’s one thing that would make us think twice — the exit out of the campsite. The gravel track really did make it difficult to get up the steep slope. Our wheels were spinning, and dust and gravel was shooting out everywhere. It’s a very reasonably priced site however I would happily pay more if it means the whole track is changed to tarmac. We did get out but it was stressful. It certainly has not ruined our stay at all but it is something that would make me think twice.

Nice gentle walk on good paths. Some steep bits down to the Riverside in places. Cam be extended if you want a longer walk to include Bolton Castle. Good parking which you can pay by cash or card. Gift shop and toilets at car park too. A nice day out. We'll worth a visit.

Stayed here for an overnight chill break yesterday. The welcoming staff and relaxed atmosphere were spot on as well as being surrounded by wonderful countryside and wildlife. The food was just excellent with no complaints from me (fussy eater). Well stocked bar and I can recommend the Pinot Grigio as well as the breakfast. Stayed in Room 3 and would also recommend this as it is the largest and has fab views. Park up and walk to Aysgarth Falls within 5 mins or so. Give it a try. We will be back!

Just wow! So beautiful, it speaks for itself really, the natural beauty of the falls are magnificent. We visited the Mill Race Tearoom, which was on the bridge, the food was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. A lovely clean and beautifully decorated cafe, selling local produce. Very reasonably priced too. The walks around the falls were picturesque and there was no litter to be seen. The visitor centre was not yet open for the season but there are information boards which are informative and helpful. I came here as a child and remember being bowled over then, 30 years later it is still an awe inspiring place to visit. Needless to say I won't be leaving it another 30 years, we will be back in the summer with a picnic!

Nice place to visit. River walks and the falls viewing points are good, easy going. When you reach the Riverside, you can walk along thr rocks (it's fairly easy), and take the alternative route back to the centre. Worth a visit.

Lovely waterfalls and well worth a visit. Nice walk to the 3 levels Upper, middle & lower falls. We saw them after the snow so they were spectacular with lots of water and amazing icicles. Would recommend the Old Mill Cafe down on the bridge for lunch, lovely homemade soup, scones and cakes.

Always a pleasure to visit. These falls are stunning in any weather. Make sure you take a camera and the walk by the river's edge is child friendly, so take the kids, they'll love it too!

I love this place, it’s an easy walk for kids and great for dogs. Nothing too demanding on the path and it really is beautiful. I wouldn’t recommend it as the top attraction in the area, plus it’s busy even on off season, just drive a bit further and you can find some impressive walks away from the tourists. I’d still recommend this place though, it was my first visit to the area and I’ve been back many times since!

Dramatic waterfalls on the river Yore in the Yorkshire National Park. The Car Park is well placed for most people to walk from and access the falls, there is a lovely area for picnics and the Mill Tea Room is also a must for visitors. Visiting in February meant we had a good volume of water following down the falls and making them a more spectacular place to see, albeit a bit wet and muddy under foot so going with the right footwear for the prevailing weather is a must.

A very lovely place to visit good scenery and a good place to relax and have a picnic kids would love it too.

3 different levels of waterfalls however they are all beautiful. Plus if you have kids you may choose to do a trail along the way. Then treat yourselves to an ice cream in the shop.

Brilliant easy walk to 3 different levels of waterfalls, car park £1 per hour, toilet close by and coffee shop/cafe close. Picnic benches by the top waterfall which is a nice view.

Wonderful place, the best we have stayed in yet. Food is fab, room with a view, proper break away from it all. A good pint too.

Beautiful series of waterfalls linked by an easy path. National Park car park at the Visitor Centre can get busy, however, there is a cheaper alternative at the old station which is just beyond the railway over bridge.

Wonderful place to walk, enjoy the scenery, spend time with family and walk dogs. Waterfalls are beautiful and the footpaths are very well maintained and looked after which means they are accessible to most people (be aware that there are steps down to the second and third falls).

Beautiful place! We had lunch at the mill tearoom, such tasty food lovely place. My husband had the ham, pork pie, cheese and salad, ham was so soft and tasty, good portions and reasonable cost too. Recommend!

We nearly bought this place a few years ago and promised ourselves a visit. Hats off to the owners they have done a fantastic refurbishment. Very tasteful and very very comfortable. The food was good. The surroundings were delightful, the bed was really comfortable, and even the full English exceeded all expectations on both quality, taste and presentation. Staff were polite and helpful and it was good to note that they catered to dog owners. Cleanliness was not affected. Caravan site attached as well with beautiful views and easy access to Aysgarth falls. Would definitely recommend.

One of the nicest 'hidden' locations in the north, in my opinion. The upper falls are impressive but it's definitely worth the little extra walk to the mid and lower falls. It's quite easy to follow the signs and helpful maps to find the lower falls and on a busy day you'll probably be able to follow the steady stream of people doing the same. Be sure of your footing as you can get incredibly close to the edge, which makes it one of the most appealing spots I've ever been to.

Fabulous food, gorgeous rooms and friendly welcoming staff — they have a couple of seperate dog friendly rooms which are really useful as well. We have stayed 3 times and looking forward to returning.

We decided to go for a little stroll to Aysgarth Falls. We had driven over 3 hours and I was 2 months post c section. I also had my 4 year old with me too. I went in with my 2 children and asked if we could use the toilet facilities, only to be told we had to pay to use them. I didn't have any cash on me, only card and a picnic. I explained this to the staff only to be told we couldn't use them. They could see my 4 year old dancing around frantically trying to stop herself from wetting herself but still we were told no. I therefore took my 4 year old into the carpark where she could hold it no longer and wet herself. I changed both children in the car. Not ideal! I had to wait until I found somewhere else which was absolute agony considering I was 8 weeks post emergency surgery. Absolutely disgusting, you should use your discretion and have some compassion! You should also be ashamed of yourselves!

If you want to get close to the falls through the walkway there is an honesty box for you to provide your support. Lovely location.

Would have given no stars. Walked up in the snow looking for a pint and a bar snack. Told on arrival they were fully booked. Twenty minutes later a couple walked in and asked for food. After a few hushed discussions, some looks in my direction and laughter they placed an order. Deciding this meant there had been weather related cancelations I tried to order. He works here was the reply Piss poor.

Stayed at the b&b down the road but had two fantastic meals here. Very warm, welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff.

Friendly, helpful staff, nice room, wonderful location. The curtains didn't keep out enough of the summer morning sun and the dinner menu was small and I was frustrated at paying so much (£18 for some lamb; the fish and chips looked like a more decent-sized meal for £13). On the other hand, the bathroom looked new, everything was of course clean, the milk fridge outside the room and the full-length mirror were unusual bonuses, and the walk to Aysgarth falls was good. Breakfast was excellent.

Nice place we when on a week when there had been no rain so not much going over the falls upper falls not well marked bit hard to find And a bit disappointed to find low water but in all a good place to go more so if it's wet when you go.

Excellent hotel. Had a 4 day long weekend here last week. Dog friendly annexe is great, perfect for taking your dog and a rare thing to find, especially at such a good price for auch a high quality hotel. Staff were brilliant, friendly, polite and attentive, a real credit to the hotel. Food is amazing, nicest breakfast i've had in a hotel I can remember and the restaurant food is as good as you will find and best of all for us is the restaurant menu is served in the bar, and the dogs allowed in the bar. The beer is kept perfectly and there is nothing as welcome as a good pint after a day in the dales. The location is spot on for a base to explore the area and the falls are beautiful and very close. Will definitely be returning to this popular gem in the dales, and will definitely be taking the dog again!

Although primarily a hotel, it does have a small caravan/campsite adjacent to it. This is where my wife and I recently stayed. Just after the Tour de France had passed through the area. A nice, friendly and efficient chap called Mark sorted us out and we found the campsite to be a well kept, sheltered site with electric hook-ups and sufficient toilet/washing facilities of a good standard. I can't comment on the Hotel's accommodation, but the restaurant, fronted by very capable and friendly staff, boasted some fine dining of a high standard. Well worth a visit. As for the Yorkshire Dales. Well, who needs the hassle of going abroad when this country has so much to offer. Our visit coincided with le Tour and it seemed as if the whole area was decked out in yellow bicycles and bunting. Not forgetting the huge round, hay bales that were turned into giant Wensleydale Cheese advertisements just for the occasion! When you visit, make sure you drive along Buttertubs Pass, visit EACH of the waterfalls at Aysgarth and see Mallam Cove. A wonderful area with lots and lots more to see. A Grand Day Out Grommit.
