Arrived to a broken glass in the car park, room filthy and was assured it had been deep cleaned (it hadn’t) thick dust! Dinner service shocking, mains brought out before starter finished. Breakfast was horrible waited over 30 minutes for a poached egg and when I got up to get a drink my table was cleared as they thought I had left. Absolutely not worth the money at all! Very disappointed.

Wonderful experience. Definitely recommend it. Could have spent a week there. ❤️

Amazing spa, very disappointing hotel! Absolutely amazing spa but what a disappointing hotel. The spa I genuinely couldn’t fault, clean, stunning and the staff were fantastic. The hotel I genuinely don’t know where to start, we arrived early as we had a booking at smoke on the bay before check in time, I got a phone call from reception who told me that the restaurant was fully booked for the afternoon due to it being short staffed but she could book me for anytime in the evening so she re booked us for 7:30pm. The queue to check in was very long and slow, a lady apologised for this and offered everyone a complimentary drink. When we arrive in our room it looked lovely but then when looking closer the carpets were full of stains, cracked tiles in the lounge around the bath area, no plastic on one of the taps that was broken, there was an eyelash extension on the sink ledge and the room was very nosey with traffic being on the front and the windows being quite old. We went to get changed and couldn’t find any robes, I tried to ring the reception from the hotel phone numerous times but there was no answer, I rang the hotel direct on my phone but there was also no answer so I went to reception and asked one of the staff who said they would get sent up for us. After 30 minutes there were no sign of out robes and our spa time was a skit to start so my husband went down again and after about 5 minutes these got delivered. Thankfully the experience in the spa was amazing!

This has to be the best spa in the lakes! Fantastic service — staff are absolutely wonderful could not be more helpful, amenities amazing … food 5star! Will be booking again and again!

Due to Covid we could not travel abroad for our honeymoon so we booked to stay at Low Wood Bay for 2 nights in September It was beautiful, the spa was stunning and had such a romantic atmosphere with a very clean pool, hot tub, sauna and treatment room and a lovely relaxation area overlooking the lake The view was fantastic, the staff were very helpful and the overall experience was great Our room had a little balcony overlooking the lake which I absolutely loved. We could see people swimming early in the morning and then the paddle boards, kayaks & boats throughout the day We even hired a little motor boat from them too and had 2 hours out on the lake, which was fantastic as the weather was in our favour The food was fantastic both evenings however the old dining room (where breakfast is served) was a little odd and the service was terrible the first evening However the second night we were in the other restaurant on-site in the new building and that was great. You could see the chefs cooking and it was a much better experience Overall a fantastic hotel & spa and I would love to return that’s for sure A very special treat that I will treasure forever ♥️

Spa was amazing, food was overpriced, disappointing the chips were frozen and not real, we had a day deal and you have to pay extra on the menu for some items, spa was fantastic, restaurant was disappointing don’t get your hopes up, had better pub meals for half the price, staff was brilliant and really professional.

We stated for our Mini Moon on 28th December for one night in the Winander Club. The suite was beautiful and the food in The Blue Smoke was beautiful too. The spa is very nice and the outside area is lovely and very unique. Unfortunately there were a few issues during our stay, mainly with the service we received. There seemed to be a vast lack of staff members that found us waiting ALOT. The poor barman in the Winander Club was manning the bar alone and running up and down the stairs to set up for breakfast, alone. There was no welcome when we arrived as advertised for the Winander with it coming as a massive premium, and we waited a good 10 minutes to be checked in as there was no one there. There was no turn down service as advertised. The Blue Smoke Restaurant was a similar theme. We didn't receive our drinks until our main arrived after having a starter too. No one ever came back to check if our food was OK, thankfully it was superb. Our mains weren't even taken away when the host put our bill on our table. No ask if we wanted a dessert or coffees and we had to get up to ask for a dessert menu as we were at the back of the restaurant and no one cake by us to flag down for a good while. We did overhear 2 staff members in the restaurant complaining that they had been moaned at all night because of their lack of service to guests, and that it was because there was a wedding on and they had all been told that it was priority.

Fantastic wood fired afternoon tea. Staff friendly and attentive 10/10 to whoever thought of this “alternative” afternoon tea! Highly recommend.

It is busy but the hotel let us know well beforehand that booking meal times and the spa is important and we had amazing time in the thermal spa experience. We were in the Winander Hazel rooms (separate building) with our own breakfast and lounge areas with very attentive staff.

A fantastic spa with amazing views from both inside & outside areas. We opted for lunch rather than afternoon tea & we weren’t disappointed, would highly recommended.

Our first room allocated was tiny for a family however, this was resolved and we were moved into an amazing room. Hotel concierge was really friendly and great with the children. Bar had great choice and the blue smoke restaurant was delicious. Spa was great too, will definitely return.

Loved our stay as always! Stayed in the new Winander block and was very impressed. The staff were incredibly attentive.
Can't wait for our next visit.

Food very good on the afternoon tea, but our little lad had a pizza that wasn't the best. Will certainly return for a stay or food again in the future. Keep up the good work guys.

Leighah in the Blue Smoke too and the ladies in the Spa attending to the drinks, fabulous customer service! We stayed in the Winander Club and it is absoloutley amazing! What an experience! The breakfast and views were brilliant! This was our 3rd time and looking forward to visit number 4!

Spent an afternoon here in the spa last week as a surprise for my 30th birthday. Didn’t want the afternoon to end. Amazing facilities, fantastic location, truly relaxing. We will definitely be back.

Great break here again for the fourth year running. Me and my son love this place and have seen it grow from a large hotel to a huge resort… right on the shore of Windermere.
The spa facilities are second to none so do not hesitate to book if you’d like a relaxing break where you can recharge and take in the wonderful views.

I had the most relaxing day in the thermal experience, followed by a 2 course lunch with Prosecco! The facilities were exceptionally clean and it was nice that it wasn’t over crowded like some spas I’ve been to in the past. All the staff were really friendly and we were made to feel so welcome from the moment we stepped through the doors. Hopefully we will be back very soon!

Not impressed by the fireworks this evening, it would off been a good idea to have let local residents with young stock and mares in foals, and pets in local area know of this event happening this evening, procedures could of been taken to keep these animals saffy.

We are here for a wedding and the experience has been lovely. Nice rooms (with THE best pillows), great teas, coffees and bath products included. Staff have been amazing. We would definitely come again, thank you.

Place was nice but still doing some building work which was at the back where our rooms was and all you see on to where they was working. When we arrived could not find the car park which was quite bit muddy. Which is a bit of disappointment. Usually stay at the Waterhead but come to the Low wood to try might be nice when finished, which when we checked on the website after we booked said they was still doing building work. Which we did not know. Had nice meal in hotel last night. Might have boat trip today Wray castle. Looks like might be dry. Mike and David just gone for a swim in pool before breakfast.

Been this morning for a pre baby pregnancy massage that I received as a gift from friends. I was so impressed with the spa, absolutely gorgeous! The girl who was doing my massage was about to set about doing the massage when I had to ask about the foot soak that was mentioned in the brochure, she seemed a little confused but went straight out to ask and came back with a lovely copper tub with water to soak my feet in. I think the foot soak could have been longer but it was really nice. She then advised me to remove all my top clothing and to lean on the bed, it was very comfortable and she gave me a towel to cover up with. She then advised me on what oils she would use and why. The massage itself (neck and back) was really lovely and she chatted to me throughout. Really friendly girl! After my massage I was asked if I would like to relax a little more and was offered a pod or a lounger. The view looked right out into the lake and it was lovely, relaxing me a bit more! It will look great when the outdoor part is finished! Loved the massage and would recommend.

Stayed here for a wedding at the end of August. Lovely venue. Rooms were great, perfect location on the lake and the staff couldn't have been anymore helpful. Some developments going on at the back but you don't hear anything and it doesn't impact your stay. It looks like it will be stunning when finished.

In the process of being updated and the work that's been done is very good quality. Comfortable and modern/classic eating areas. Amazing views of lake Windermere. Friendly staff.

In truth moored here for drinks and snacks. What a lovely place. Stopped longer than we should have, very well appointed, beer was good and so were the snacks. Staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the toilets (don't normally reveiw the loos), but they were exceptional, with Swallows and Amazons piped through the loudspeakers. Note to self … visit again.

Only a short visit to use the pool & sauna facilities within the hotel. Very nice, clean and relaxing experience. The hotel and grounds look lovely. Building work continues but you can get a small sense of what the finished result will be. I look forward to returning.

Stayed for our 25 year anniversary lovely place lovely staff. Really enjoyed it. Our room was amazing facing the lake with a bath in the room prosecco and just those added little extras. Thank you.

Good things. Beds very comfy, gym / swimming pool very good, breakfasts were wholesome and lots of choice, watersports over the road great fun Bad points. Room very small, restaurant very expensive at £18 for what was essentially a piece of salmon on some lettuce leaves, gym was open to my teenage daughter and then not depending on who was on the desk (really they need to sort that even if it means changing the insurance)

Fabulous water sports centre. Double fabulous in good weather. Can get v busy with people sailing, canoeing and playing in boats.

Excellent hotel. Lovely environment and atmosphere. The blue smoke restaurant was great, fabulous food and good service. Would definitely recommend a visit and look forward to going back.

What a fabulous weekend we've had. We were there for my niece's wedding and it couldn't have been more perfect. The hotel and views are stunning but it's the lovely staff that make it perfect. Just enjoyed a two night stay here for. My husband's 50th birthday. The hotel setting, facilities, ambience, staff exuded quality and first class service in every way.
Highlights. Our room — gorgeous. Spotless. Nice touches with lovely toiletries, coffee, gingerbread and shortbread.
We ate lunch & dinner in Blue Smoke Restaurant and it was terrific in every way. Staff/service/delicious food. Not a negative or hitch with anything at all.
We ate breakfast and dinner on night 2 in The Windermere Restaurant. Again. Beautiful food, presentation and service.
My favourite was Blue Smoke — the tastiest food I've had in yonks.
Also had lovely coffee's and cake at Norman's and enjoyed the beautiful views from the Atrium.
We didn't even experience half of what the hotel has to offer as we didn't visit the Spa. But will definitely return for that delight.
Highly recommend to anyone. There's so. Much to choose from in the area and we have stayed at other beautiful hotels but I would choose to return here again.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! Have been here twice, both times for conferences and the recent extensions and refurbishment have really made the Low Wood Bay resort a superb place to stay. The setting on the lake is magical and the service impeccable. The food is amazing and the bedrooms and beds very comfortable!

I love this place! Got married here 12 years ago it's very special to us. Beautiful rooms lovely cocktails and relaxing pool area simply lovely! Beware in the new blue smoke restaurant though … I ordered salad with my lobster it was a third of a lettuce in a slice with a tiny bit of drizzle of sauce. I thought it must have been an oversight and found it funny. Because I do like lettuce. But a third of a whole lettuce is NOT A SALAD … its a lettuce! Lol! Always happy to come back here.

The low wood is a fantastic hotel built on good customer service and absolute quality! Have visited about 4 times and always love staying. The food is fantastic and facilities are brilliant, this will only get better as they are currently building additional leisure facilities! Love this place.

Yet again we had a wonderful stay at low wood bay. Christmas was magical. The staff and the atmosphere was fabulous. Will be staying again!

Great hotel and lovely location. Can't fault the staff and the service. Buffet breakfast passable but not spectacular. It wasn't kept refilled and naturally a buffet breakfast is never as good as freshly cooked and served to your table. Rooms are lovely and have everything you would want, great temperature and pressure in the shower too.

Attended a Christmas party night. Have visited before and the food and entertainment lived up to my expectations. Service was professional and attentive. Maybe it was just our group but the atmosphere was a little less festive than I have experienced in the past. All in all a nice evening, value for the money we spent.

I was in the Low Wood originally 2 nights midweek then decided to stay longer. My wife and 12 year old son we had a fantastic stay. Staff (all). The meals and service in the Blue Smoke on the bay was fantastic clean tidy atmosphere was great they accomodated with all and looked after our son. This place is fantastic including accommodation well done to all. Thanks Rob McLaughlin.

Came here for lunch only. Food was great with, restaurant has beautiful view of the lake. Great place to bring family and young kids. Great and friendly staff.

Superb stay at Low Wood yet again. We have stayed many many times before, although the refurbishment isn't yet finished the stay was still great. The new look restaurant opens today and the current spa is lovely and kid free when we visited awwww bliss. Highly recommended.

Brand new, very clean, very pretty. Sauna is infrared, which just feels weird. There is a steam room though, so you can still sweat it out. Small pool and a jacuzzi. Did not see any options for massages, but I also did not enquire on my visit. Gym is stocked with high end, high tech machines, but zero barbells, and only maybe 4 kettle bells. If you like running machines and fancy weights machines that are more pretty than functional, this is great. For anyone who knows anything about using a gym for strength and conditioning then this is not the place for you.

Had a 1 hour wakeboarding lesson. Was great fun and the instructor was really helpful. With his instruction we were out of the water in no time. Thanks for the lesson Markus!

Booked as a 'quiet' little mid week getaway for me and my partner, we were very disappointed and have agreed we wouldn't return. The first issue upon arrival was the building site outside our room, my partner hadn't received the confirmation (for a non refundable booking) so called up to confirm everything was okay. This turned out to be an issue in two ways, no one told us via phone it had building work taking place, and also if we had received the confirmation it was non refundable and already booked! Either way, you get on with it and don't let it spoil your trip, just don't expect a lie in. Dinner was included with our booking, and of course we were impressed with the dining room and the view outside. This was the only impressive thing though and it soon went south! So to clarify this next part, I'm an ex chef who used to work in Heathcotes so I'm not 'green' when it comes to knowing good food / service. So, the steak was cold to the point the herb butter wouldn't melt, it was sent back and (with the waitress dropping the chips on her way) whilst we were waiting two starters were delivered to our table. We advised they weren't ours because the same waitress had just taken our mains back "I've been told table 12 so they're yours now" I'm literally not joking that she was that much of a robot she wouldn't accept that they weren't ours despite having taken our mains away minutes before!

Great place, been here before and we have found the revamp impressive. The hotel has a more tentative feel, starting at the cark park welcome to being guided to your room. We looking forward to seeing the spar later. **Update** We are planning to get married here in 2019, we have seen the wedding room and upstairs when it is decorated looks great, I can't wait for the big day.

A magical setting for this superb hotel got to be one of the most beautiful views imaginable with great pool and gym. Always full of happy people The lushness of the greenery and scenery takes alot of bettering. From lake superior to Mazuma Brazil after the temporary expansion here we are looking as good as it gets. I love the marina as well where guests can boat yacht and all do all water sports.

Ok. Not terrible. But not the best either. Due to the building works we were constantly woken early by pounding, resonating footsteps on a temporary wooden staircase to the car park. My advice is wait till the building works are finished before booking.

Excellent place to live, next I wanted to come along with my family to stay for a week, this I couldn't get chance to stay more than a night, hopefully will make it next time, good job low wood guy's Keep it rocking, the staffs r amazing in their works.

Pros: Great experience, service was spotless and staff was very friendly. Food from the buffet was delicious. The views of the lake are incredible and the spa and gym has very respectable amenities, including sauna and steam room and a hot tub. Cons: the hot tub was not fully installed yet, but will be soon. At the moment there is some construction going on. Lots of cushions in the room, and I mean LOTS. And it is true that there is no shelf in the shower, it would be useful to get one. But only minor things that could be improved, my experience was great!

A lovely stay in a wonderful hotel who are all too happy to go the extra mile for you. Can't wait to stay again!

At the moment it's the Low Wood Bay hotel and building site. Resort and Spa doesn't exist yet but they have plenty of diggers and workmen to wake you up. It might be fine in six months. Lake view rooms at the front overlook the main road too and there is no double glazing so you hear all the traffic. Obsession with cushions and pillows, six furry cushions on the bed that have to be moved to sleep. No flat surface in bathroom for a washbag. No shelf in shower. Room safe not working. Staff seem new and untrained. They need to get the basics right. Could be excellent with some thought and work.

An absolutely amazing place to stay in The Lakes! We came out here to take a tour of the hotel before booking our wedding here. Low Wood Bay was recommended by friends of ours and we'll continue to recommend this amazing place with exceptional service. We booked a classic room but then were kindly upgraded to a lake view room. The views were absolutely stunning. The spa facilities were great. We thoroughly enjoyed using the swimming pool, sauna and outdoor hot tubs (which had views of the lake). Towels are provided and usage of the facilities was included in our stay. The rooms are comfortable with very comfy beds, modern décor and clean modern bathrooms. Hairdryer, ironing board, iron and an in-wardrobe safe are provided in the lake view rooms. A total of 111 rooms in the hotel. The restaurant was pricey but worth every penny. Great menu choices! Breakfast was served between 7am and 10am and was full of variety. Full english buffet and continental with fresh fruits available. Gorgeous food and great quality. Local produce is pushed and was very tasty. Our wedding planner Gemma Jeffrey was brilliant. She was on hand to take all our details and help us plan our perfect day. We're looking forward to going back very soon for our wedding. We can't wait to stay here again.

Only had Lunch, but was very disappointed. Steak Ciabatta was okay. Pannacotta for dessert, which was not pannacotta for sure! Good service though, and friendly staff.

Stayed over the weekend for a scientific conference. Perfect lake view, good location for those driving a car. Decent room, especially the comfortable bed. There's a well decorated bar and seating area. Big conference rooms upstairs. Good lunch and dinner food, well serviced.

Absolutely spot on would definitely stay there again the staff were very polite and courteous the room was above the spa and had excellent views of Windermere lake.

I stayed the weekend 26/27th June 2015 on a hen party celebration (my daughter is the bride to be) and I cannot praise the hotel enough. The facilities, rooms, food, the position on the Lake and staff were out of this world. Our staff manager for the weekend was Philip, he was amazing. Philip could not do enough, from sorting out banners and sprinkles for the hen's table and private function room to joining in one of the dares as a pole dancer, (Philip is Polish by the way! ) what a sense of humour, he never faltered, absolutely amazing in all areas. 18 jolly females of all ages and Philip and the hotel just made it all fantastic. The hotel arranged all of our watersport activities on the lake and it all went seamlessly! I would recommend to anyone who wants, a top quality hotel with top quality staff in a beautiful setting. One word of warning however… do not use the Lakeside taxi service offered by the hotel, their drivers are extremely rude and ill mannered. Absolutely no need for it and no excuse. Thank you so much :)

Second time we have stayed at the Low Wood Bay and will certainly be going again. It has a lovely relaxed yet high end atmosphere that makes you feel looked after without feeling uptight or pretentious at the same time. The breakfast and dinner were fantastic (particularly the breakfast if your a bit of a piggy! ). The hotel is gorgeous and placed in one of the most fantastic locations available. Most importantly the staff are absolutely excellent, incredibly polite and professional, and will do anything for you. Absolutely love this place and cannot recomment it enough, thanks for a wonderful stay.

Having been a few times, we knew what to expect. The hotel is lovely, and clean, the rooms are very nice, the restaurant looks lovely, the lounges are appropriate for the hotel theme, and the Spa has everything that we could need — the jacuzzi outside is brilliant. More importantly, the staff are very professional and friendly, and seem to really want to help with any problem that may arise. On this visit we had a couple of problems, which were very quickly sorted out by Martha (Reception) with a smile. We were really impressed with her attitude, which is not always the case elsewhere, and our enjoyment was heightened because of her help.

I was staying at the Low Wood for my daughters wedding, the function room, gallery bar area linked to the gardens with outside seating to take in the stunning views made it the most perfect wedding venue I have ever seen. It was made for dancing, chatting, chilling and back to dancing etc etc. The classy function room was laid out beutifully for the wedding breakfast and then transformed into an atmospheric sultry evening venue. What made the whole thing special was the atentive and very friendly staff, especially the wedding organiser and master of ceremonies who made this very nervous father of the bride a little more relaxed. Stayed there for the BASH conference. Home away from home. Very good staff and services. Liked the ambience, food, location and services. Staff are friendly and helpful.

We had a two night stay in March for my wifes and her best friends birthday. Booked lake view rooms which were very comfortable and lovely views across the lake. Staff were very pleasent and could not do enough to help. Overall a great time was had by all.

Once again I visited Low Wood Bay, this time for my wife's birthday, and took a couple of friends that have not been there before. We again had a lake view room as did our friends. The staff were once again fantastic and could not have been more helpful. My friends at last realised why we always go on about Low Wood Bay. The food is simply wonderful. We cannot thank everyone at Low Wood for their hospitality. We look forward to returning as soon as possible. If you want to know what it is like to experience a break at Low Wood, I would suggest you get on the phone and book in. You wil definitely want to come back again and again.
