Home from a lovely couple of days staying at Hillthwaite celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. Lovely clean room, fantastic breakfasts, stunning views, great location and friendly staff. Loved the little welcome bag for our dog too such a nice touch. We will be back 😃

We have just had a fantastic two night stay at the Hillthwaite. The hotel was lovely and the staff were so helpful, polite and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, and we would definitely stay here again.

Visited Hillthwaite last weekend for the first time. I was really impressed.
The rooms were lovely, bathroom in particular was lovely.
Food AMAZING!
All the staff I came into contact with were really friendly, especially a young Scottish last who had recently joined the hotel!

Fantastic couple of days at the Hillthwaite Hotel. Can highly recommend. Took our dog and puppy, everyone was so friendly.

Absolutely beautiful place. However we went for afternoon tea and it was not worth the money. We did not get a choice of sandwiches. Staff did not check if food was ok until end when finished. Will not be returning for afternoon tea. Very small portions.

Just got home from a gorgeous relaxing stay. We booked the Signature room which which did not disappoint. Just stunning, with the most amazing view. Great variety to choose from for breakfast. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Leaisure facilities where fantastic.
We really hope our visit turns into an annual trip!

My partner and I have stayed a couple of times in the last couple of months at this beautiful hotel. The views from the terrace, lounges, restaurants and rooms are stunning. The food in the restaurant is top class as is the service, the staff are so friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed in many hotels and eaten at high end restaurants and this up up there with the best of them. The home made scones are to die for! We were lucky enough to be put in their signature room 16 last time, it was absolutely fabulous, the photographs don’t do it justice, just what we needed. The pool, steam room and sauna just top it all off nicely. Can’t wait for our next visit!

We had the Sparkling Afternoon Tea with Relaxation for Two at Hillthwaite Hotel experience yesterday and the whole experience was lovely, friendly staff, gorgeous views and venue — would definitely recommend.

Beautiful setting, staff very attentive, our room was excellent, the bathroom was out of this world. Excellent menu.
Definitely a place to consider.

The Mrs was given a Sparkling Afternoon tea and spa voucher as a present, so we booked an overnight stay here. It was a classic double room, but looks more like a small suite. The afternoon tea was fabulous. All fresh and delicious.
The bed was really comfortable and facilities more than adequate. Breakfast in the morning was really tasty and ample.
Staff here was all very helpful. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at Hillthwaite and would recommend it to anyone.

Got given a 1 night dinner, bed & breakfast stay as a Christmas present. We stayed on 30/08/18 and had the most fantastic time. We stayed in garden Room 2 which was beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The furnishings both in our room and throughout the hotel were stunning. The quality of the food was outstanding with plenty to choose from. Every member of staff we met were polite and attentive, special mention to the young lady on the bar who was lovely and friendly. We forgot that the hotel had the pool and steam room so didn't have swimwear with us which we were upset about. We enjoyed our stay so much that we considered extending our stay but unfortunately it would have meant a room move so we decided against it. We have however, promised ourselves another stay (this time we will remember our swimwear). The views from the hotel are breathtaking and I could have happily sat out on the terrace all day. Only 10 minute walk into Bowness our 15 minutes the other way to Windermere. Perfect location. The Hillthwaite Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. It is just on the hillside of Lake Windermere. From the balcony you can see for miles. It’s total heaven, even on a rainy day you can wind away the hours reading a paper and watching the weather pass on by. I have been going since I was a child and now we’ve bought my son a voucher for the Fireside and Fells stay, for his 30th Birthday. This is luxury at its best. The hotel had a refurbish at the end of last year, this can only add to the lush feeling you are given. Treat yourself, you are totally worth it. Then tell all your friends, envy will be all over their faces.

Nice enough place set in between the towns of Windermere and Bowness. Hotel is tidy with a nice view of Lake Windermere from the outside balcony area. Room was very small as was the bed but we got by fine. Food and drink were quite pricey but in fairness so is probably most places around the area. Enjoyed the breakfast both Days but wasn't too impressed with the evening meal. That said the service was very good and all things considered I would go back here.

We've booked a SPA day with virgin experience, our day started at 10.30 with a welcoming of pastries, coffee and tea that we've enjoyed looking at the stunning surrounding by the window. There was a relaxed nice atmosphere from the entrance. After the pastries, the friendly receptionist brought us to the swimming pool, at first we've got disappointed to see only a regular swimming pool and a sauna but at the end of the day that has been enough to get our mind and body very relaxed and we've enjoyed very much. The lunch menù was very simple based mostly on sandwiches, pizzas, fish and chips and not much else but the waitress and all the stuff has been so nice, kind, friendly and patience I would say (as my boyfriend had been quite demanding) that they've made our day very pleasuring and special.

Another great stay at Hillthwaite. Upgraded room was great — hope to have that room again when it is warm and we can sit out on the balcony. Actually had a bath and watched the TV in the barhroom while relaxing! Our 3 course meal was fabulous! As a vegetarian I find that my options are always limited, but all 3 courses were stunning. Sadly, breakfast wasn't as good as dinner, but there were plenty of options and my husband loves the locally produced meat sausages. Lovely hotel with a pool and spa area too.

Lovely modern Hotel in between Bowness and Windmere. Customer service is spot on. Food delicious. Only problem is it is up a hill.

From check in to check out, it was amazing. Super friendly staff, great location and really good food.

A fantastic place. Great views. Great service… experiments from the chef. Some work. But for me the mussles in beer rather than wine garlic and cream, not so… breakfast fab. Clean great views… easy access to local attractions… let down by the pool area and the shed next to the pool (the sauna). Never warmed up… the jets in the pool didnt work either, shabby!. A good break for my birthday, (dont expect owt from the hotel for your celebration! ).

Had a very relaxing Pamper Day at the Hillthwaite Hotel swim sauna followed by an excellent lunch Rick said the sticky toffee pudding was the best he has ever tasted the cheese platter was amazing the staff could not do enough for us would definitely go back again The views from the Hotel are amazing so Beautiful x.

I honestly have no idea why it is a 3 star hotel when in my experience and opinion, it should be 4. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic stay. The facilities are great, the room was recently refurbished and we really liked the decor. I love the welcome letter, which we found on the bed when we entered the room. It included a lot of local information and for someone who is new to this area, we found it to be a class touch. The staff we encountered were professional and friendly. They seemed a lilttle rushed at peak times but thats understandble as the dinner and breakfast times are only 2.5 and 2 hour windows respectively. Anyway, I do not want to recommend as it will most probably make it harder and more expensive to book in the future but I can not fault the place. Praise is due to owners and management. Ps. I am a hotel manager and I am impressed.

Although this place has a beautiful view in lake district, after paying £240 per night (with breakfast) I was really shocked to see that coffee was not included and during breakfast I still needed to pay for the coffee or hot milk (the quality of the coffee was awful too). The diner was VERY expensive and the lamb was completely dry and old, food was in general cold and the employees in the diner room had absolutely no training (this reflects how much the hotel manager cares about it). In the ceiling of my room (room 12) there was a pale black spot of mould and a big spider in the cupboard (cleaning of the room was not great either…). In resume, too much money for what you get.

Great views, just wished for a few less toenails and spiders in the room.

A lovely four day stay at this beautiful hotel with wonderful surroundings and gardens We had the Langdale room which is so lovely with an excellent en suite A splendid dining room and menu with courteous friendly staff We look forward to our next visit highly recommended.

11 of us attended the restaurant on Easter Sunday. We each had the 3 course set meal. Everyone was very impressed with both the food and the service. The hock ham scotch egg starter was amazing. It was our second visit and we hope to return again.

Brilliant hotel! Insanely good for value, room included free bottle of wine, 3 course meal and breakfast which were all fantastic! Location is brilliant, only 3 minute drive from the lakes and local shops. It's also located on a hill which gives a great view of the surrounding area! Would highly recommend, and will happily be going back in the future.

To start… what an amazing view, couldn't be in a better plot. Hotel is clean, well staffed and very friendly. Food is devine. Really pleased to be here for our honeymoon.

Just had a four day break here and had a wonderful time, great location with great views, very clean, great facilities, food I can't praise enough first class all the way, staff in the restaurant excellent, very friendly and professional in every way, would certainly recommend it.

Lovely service and setting, although I would hsve prefered a window table to look at the stunning views more as nobody was sat at those! Afternoon tea was nice cakes were beautiful but sandwiches were not to my taste and very few compared to other places would go back again but would book a window table and request my taste in sandwiches.

Stayed here twice which is unusual for me as I like to try somewhere different but it is superb. The evening meal is excellent and the rooms are good, clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the indoor pool and it is nice to sit in the conservatory and admire the views.

Spent today having a swim and high tea, very friendly staff, good food and wonderful views, only complaint, as we are elderly it would have helped had there been grab bars at the pool, we found it quite difficult getting in and out of pool, but that will not deter us from visiting again,

Just on our way back to this fabulous hotel for one night only! This is the third time we've been and it won't be the last. It has the most beautiful views, fantastic beds and the food is exceptional. Never been to the Lakes until last year and have regretted that I waited so long to see it. Hillthwaite is outstanding and deserves to thrive. Just go see it and experience the service you receive. I feel special and relaxed when we visit here. Well done the hotel team.

We were only staying for one night, but the hotel couldn't have been better, lovely rooms, excellent reception rooms and very efficient and friendly staff. Would recommend highly — shame we weren't staying longer so we could have used the leisure facilities — maybe next time.

My partner treated me to an overnight stay at this fabulous hotel. It was wonderful from start to finish. Freshly baked scones on arrival and a bottle of chilled Prosecco waiting for us in the room. I've stayed in many a hotel over the years and even some of the 5 star hotels struggle to make you feel as welcome as Hillthwaite do.

We have just arrived back home and we want to thank all the staff for making our stay a peaceful and relaxing break. We will be back in the near future but this time longer. Lovely Hotel, however well over priced drinks £32.00 a bottle of house red! Beware. Breakfast well below average and service slow. Needs to serve a good hearty meal not a shrivelled up slice of bacon followed by one sausage and under grilled tomato, very disappointed. The kippers needed a mignifying glass to find too. Did not justify the overall cost.
