Review of Beech Hill Hotel & Spa 4*

My wife and I were given room witch was on the top floor facing the road out front. We were hit in the face by the strong smell of mold immediately as we entered the room. With a quick easy to see inspection I found several large area's of completely saturated wall board and the floor just outside the bathtub felt as though it would not hold the weight of a person. We had been traveling all day to get there and just wanted to relax. So we decided to have a quick shower before we went to the pool/hot tub. On our way back I approached the front desk with our concerns regarding the room. I can honestly say I have never asked for a different room in all my life but felt the need to this time. The young lady at the front desk whom was pleasant went into the back room and came back with keys to a better room which was and upgrade. We were happy with this room except it had two single beds pushed together, which was definitely a let down. The main problem was in the midst of moving our items from room 90 to 92 was that we had forgotten our bathing suits on the back of the bathroom door in Since it's there fault we had to move rooms we believe they should have tried to return the two items or at least compensated us in some form. The reason I say this is not 24 hrs after we left I contacted them about the issue only to be told they would call me back which they did not. I called back twice more and and asked for a manager and was told each time they were busy and would call me back and surprise surprise no call back. Very upset at the lack of care the hotel had for us the customer. Which is why I will never go back and not recommend it to anyone. Funny how the manager can cut and paste the same BS response to all the positive review's on Google but makes no effort to try to rectify negative comments or comment at all for that matter. That would be a good start and go a long way to earning those dissatisfied customers business back. Returning a phone call is not to much to ask for the hotel is not a very busy place.
