We are on holiday and was recommended the Queens Head. We were not disappointed. Walked into a very friendly pub. Staff were helpful and food was delicious. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back in.

We had 2 evening meals at the queens head and it was superb, I cant recommend it enough.

Popped in for lunch, service was excellent, food delicious ~ would throughly recommend the Queens Head Hotel… thank you.

This is a beautiful old pub in a stunning location with ceiling beams and gorgeous carving on the bar. Very friendly. We only went in for tea/coffee but we're still made to feel welcome. Food menu looks, as does the overnight accommodation. Would like to go back another time when we're in the area.

What a great break away in this fab pub rooms spacious and dog friendly the food is excellent, the staff very welcoming and polite superb Bed and Breakfast we will definitely be returning didnt want to come home we was so relaxed here look after you from start to finish.

I visited with my wife and two kids for lunch. Booking the table online was a breeze. There was a good choice on the menu and also a good choice from the kids menu too. I ordered the steak and ale pie and it was probably one of the best steak and ale pies I have ever had! The décor inside is really nice and a relaxing atmosphere with very friendly and efficient staff in a well run establishment. We will certainly be back.

Lovely 2 nights stay at the Queens Head Hotel, stayed in Great End room, fantastic room with stunning view. Friendly and attentive staff and nothing was too much trouble. Nice touch to have a table in the restaurant booked for you and the food is always lovely.

Pretty average pub fair. I last went to The Queen's Head about 5+ years ago. At that time it was very well respected, and you had to book well in advance to stand a chance of getting a table. And with good reason since the food was excellent. Sadly not too long after that they had a significant fire that closed the pub for nearly three years, only reopening in March 2017. My recent visit was therefore the first opportunity I had to go back. Sadly, things are much changed. Where the food had been exceptional, now it is just quite ordinary. Not bad, in fact what we had on our visit wasn't bad at all. However it definitely wasn't worth over an hour round trip, simply because there are so many better options. The decor is similar note worthy for also being very 'generic country pub'. It's very cosy, and amazingly many original features remain from before the fire, but the finishing touches just feel a little too considered and therefore in genuine. Beyond the food and decor, the service is worthy of mention as this was extremely good. We were made very welcome and the level of attention was spot on. Oh, and the beers not bad either. Overall, if you're in Troutbeck, I'd have no hesitation recommending The Queen's Head, but if you're not in the immediate area then there are better places to eat.

If there was 3.5 I'd give them that. Nice place nice location finished off to a high standard. Good choice of drinks. A little expensive for nothing special food. Other than that quite nice. 1 disappointing thing is the staff don't bring the cutlery and sauce's. They actually walk past it with your hot food then tell you you have to get it.

Lovely hotel which makes the most of its 17th century history. The hotel retains many historic architectural features but has been sympathetically restored with quality decor and furnishings. The staff are friendly and helpful whilst not being intrusive. The food is very good and inexpensive for the local area. Beautiful patio area compliments the pubs historical features. A very warm and inviting environment… highly recommended.

BEAUTIFUL rooms, friendly staff, gorgeous food, breathtaking views. Totally recommended. Book your table in advance if you're eating here as it's very popular. We ate three courses each and weren't disappointed with anything. Fresh home made soup, spring rolls, lamb shank, charred beef and bacon burger, sticky toffee pudding and bread and butter pudding. Delicious. Would love to return.

Fantastic country pub and hotel. The food and the setting is great. It has recently had a refurbishment and as a result the whole place is well kitted out. The rooms themselves are very clean and good value for the quality of the accommodation.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Rooms are great and have been recently renovated to a very high specification. Drink choice is really good with a great selection of beers and gins. Breakfast and evening meal were really good as well. Don't expect fine dining just really good pub food. Staff were also really friendly and made our stay really enjoyable.

Lovely pub. Great outdoor space. Visited on Sunday evening. Sat outside. Ordered food. Not great experience. Food portion was tiny for price. Scampi had 6 pieces on plate. 7 chips. Also had steak. Asked for well done. Guy behind bar when ordered said really. Well thats what I said. Veg was like it was left in water to long, again 7 chips. Presentation wasnt great. Had no cutlery when food arrived. Were not offered any sauces. Not great when spending £43.00 with 2 drinks. Went away hungry.

So happy to see this fabulous place rebuilt and looking so fabulous too. As we experienced many times before, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit yesterday. Hospitality exceptional, service impeccable, food outstanding. We will be returning very soon. Thank you for being so accommodating of my bossy chocolate Labrador. We used to come here a lot before the fire and loved it. Since it’s restoration I feel it has lost some of its character. The tables are smaller in the back rooms and a squash for four people. The food is very good but lacks the variety it used to have. The more unusual dishes have gone off the menu. It’s still good but has lost something since the fire.

Called in on Sunday for lunch. Very enjoyable. Staff very friendly and efficient. Had two Sunday roasts, which were both excellent. Dog and muddy boots friendly. They even have a jar of dog biscuits on the bar! Highly recommended.
