Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. A lovely comfortable oasis right in the centre of Bowness, but it feels a million miles away. We have stayed three times now and will be back without doubt. Special thanks to Dorothy for being so attentive, and to all the other lovely staff for just being so professional.

Lovely time away at this hotel lovely clean room and friendly staff breakfast was good dinner was lovely.

Great hotel great breakfast comfy bed, and friendly helpful staff what more do you need from a hotel, really enjoyed are stay.

Absolutel perfect location, it took us less than 5 minutes to walk to Lake Windermere and 5 minutes to walk to Bowness Town center.
Allocated parking space was a real plus. Breakfast was superb every morning of our 5 day stay with a good selection offered and endless toast and coffee top ups, it was always piping hot along with a warning about the hot plates. Dined in the restaurant 2 nights of our stay, again plenty of choice, Venison was delicious.
The real icing on the cake for me were the staff who were all 5 star, service was second to none, well mannered, friendly and a real credit to the establishment.
Would definitely recommend and will no doubt visit again.

We’ve just had a wonderful weekend at Burn How. The welcome on arrival made us feel right at home and our room in the Lodge was spotless and spacious with a lovely view of the grounds. The bathroom was ultra modern with smart toiletries.
The food, oh my! The evening meals were just so delicious and the Cumbrian breakfast kept us going all day.
All the staff work so hard, especially as they are short staffed due to covid etc at the moment. The only fault is that we had to come home.

partly because of practices and diligence but also the layout/design of the rooms is brilliant
the team seem like a really close knit team that focus on doing all the fundamental stuff really well
we had a really enjoyable stay and will definitely return late summer.

It was our 1st time staying here last weekend for 3 nights. We absolutely loved it the room was lovely, bed very comfortable and a beautiful bathroom. All the staff are really friendly and the food was 5* absolutely delicious. I have a nut allergy and I was looked after 100% all the staff & chefs made sure all my food was safe. The hotel was very Covid safe too, all social distancing in all areas and masks were worn all the time. The hotel is situated 5 minutes from town and the Lake so very convenient… Thankyou we will definitely be coming to stay with you again in the future… regards Diane & Julian Mutimer.

Absolutely loved our stay here as a family of 4. Rooms are lovely and clean hotel staff are great and the breakfast was outstanding… would definitely recommend this hotel. We will be back again… 5 minute walk to the lake and local shops.

Have stayed here a few times now when visiting for one night at a time. We stay in the family rooms and always find them very comfortable. The staff are always very friendly and breakfast is always delicious. Parking spaces are near the rooms and the hotel is in an excellent location for accessing the shops and restaurants in Bowness. The hotel is surrounded by lovely gardens and some of rooms we have stayed in have an outside seating area which is a bonus in nice weather.

Great room. Large. Plenty of hot water and heating. A nice balcony. Friendly staff comfortable bed and pillows. Enormous breakfast.

Went back to our first holiday location to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary… was as magical as we remembered it 25 years ago! Lovely room, food and service. Staff so friendly… would highly recommended it.

Just got back from a stay in the bay for my partners birthday. It was fabulous humongous king size bed we both went out like a light and slept right through. Got up just in time for breakfast — a full cumbrian with toast and coffee. Loved it and we will be back later in the year.

Lovely welcome, great location and accommodation, fabulous breakfast and dinner. My fifth visit didn't disappoint!

Lovely large clean room, nice bar, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast and beautiful grounds. Not much more to say. Changed our room with no fuss when we realised we were on 2nd floor and wife has trouble with stairs.

Pleasant stay over Bank Holiday weekend. Great location with parking. Nice breakfast. Welcoming garden. Clean room. Slightly creaky floorboards was the only downside (stayed in the Lodge) probably more annoying for other guests rather than us.

Great location and nice breakfast. In my room there was a big problem, basically every time when we had shower, the water came out from the bathroom to the room. The carpet was soaking wet, it was discussing. Also smelled like mold. I had never seen like that before… I am sure that wasn't the first time in that room. It's better to fix the problem immediately… We wouldn't go back to the hotel again.

This is an outstanding location. I brought my family and from the moment we checked in, we knew that this would be paradise. The breakfast is outstanding, the service is top-class, and I loved talking with them all. I am a seasoned traveler and I was actually heartbroken to check-out. I sucked up every minute allowed right up to the check-out at 11am. This place is centrally located and the garden is so peaceful. The rooms are large and for a family of four, extremely comfortable.

Great place to stay in Bowness just a short walk from the centre. Good rates and some rooms have 1st floor balconys which are great in the summer. Will be going back. (Feb 2018)

Great cozy place come an go as you wish, park right outside your place each much like an American Motel.

The staff are excellent & the breakfast was first class overall the stay was spot on would definitely stay again.

Good accommodation and excellent food.

A little bit dated and tired but the room was a good size and lovely view. The breakfast had a very good selection of everything the staff were pleasant but could of been more efficient as they "forgot' items and the waiting time was a little too long.

Great breakfast although in peak season you may have to plan carefully to avoid showing up when the dining room is already full. Our room was nice and tidy, with plenty of space.

Stayed here a few times and always had good service. Rooms are clean and the gardn chalets especially. Staff friendly and helpful and breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice. Location is close to all amenities in Windermere and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We loved this hotel. The rooms were large very clean and comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner and the food was fabulous. The staff were lovely nothing was too much trouble for them. If I had to describe this hotel in one word it would be exceptional.

We enjoyed a celebratory meal for 6. The food and service was good but not outstanding.

Just returned from a lovely stay at the Burn How Garden House Hotel, stayed in a Deluxe room which was huge. Breakfast was really good and plentiful. All the staff were very friendly and the Manager even let us leave our car in their car park after we checked out whilst we had a walk into Bowness. Excellent will be back and would certainly recommend to family and friends.

Had a fabulous time here with a lovely friend. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was delicious, breakfast and evening meal. Had an amazing deal 2 nights bnb and dinner £115 pp.
Chalet room was very large and nicely decorated. Balcony / patio overlooking garden through French doors was lovely to sit on when the sun shone. Hope to return in the future.

Dull dreary rooms in serious need of updating. Parking was a pain in the ass. The extensive gluten free menu we were told about consisted of cereal. Score. If paying 85 quid a night to stay in a room that looks like your grandma's floats your boat, then this place is for you.

Every thing about Burn How is good. Situated a genuine five minutes walk from the town and the lake this lovely place offers comfortable, clean, spaceous and well equiped (Ironing Board and Iron) en suite rooms with a very comfortable bed. We were able to enjoy the best Breakfast menu ever offered on our several short breaks all over the country. An extensive fruit offering with Cerials, Rolls and a very tasty Marmalade supported by a wide range of hot choices cooked to order. Beautifully presented dishes served as part of the evening meals were sensibly sized and wonderfully toothsome. Nothing was too much trouble (even down to preparing a special desert for our final night) for the well trained, friendly and cooperative service team. Excellent value for money. We will stay there again when in the area.

Just back from another wonderful stay. Wonderful for all our family, including our disabled children. All staff are very courteous & friendly & we were even remembered by some from our previous visit last year. For a special occasion it is a lovely treat & the food is gorgeous. We had bedrooms with ensuite wet rooms which were ideal for the children. We would not hesitate to recommend this idyllic place to anyone.

The Burn How has the most adept, professional, and hospitable staff that we encountered during our two and a half week holiday in the United Kingdom. The facilities were impressively well-kept and beautiful and the room was very clean, spacious and accommodating of our needs. After having a poor experience at another local hotel, we came late-arrival, with no reservation to the Burn How. Melissa at the front was not only very accommodating and welcoming, but she also helped set us up in a fabulous family room where we were extremely comfortable. The room there is perfect for a family with children, or even a couple wishing for a spacious and comfortable accommodation. And the integrity and honor of the housekeeping staff! We managed to leave our very costly professional-grade camera in the room when we left (ooops! the trauma of travelling with a toddler). We rang Melissa, and she informed us that the housekeeping staff had turned the camera in. Melissa then arranged to over-night us our camera so we could have it before our international flight that week. My hat is off to the fabulous and honorable staff at Burn How. They preserved not only something of financial value, but a camera that held all of our memories from our UK trip. And of course, our room was impeccably clean when we arrived, so they not only do their job well and effectively, but they are honorable to boot.
