Lovely clean place with delicious food, and staff are very welcoming. The sticky toffee pudding is amazing.

Used the Stoneybeck for a conference today and it was excellent. Room was light and airy, food was really good. All timings were perfect. We were well looked after without the staff being intrusive. Really engaging before the event to make sure everything went to plan, which it did. Super convenient for M6. I’d highly recommend.

A nice place to go for a meal, with very friendly staff. Clean and pleasant surroundings. Been 3 times for Sunday roast (Carvery). First time very good, 2nd time medium, 3rd time (yesterday) disappointing because we only got one meat offered (Gammon), beef, pork + lamb had run out. We didn't like the gammon very much, very tough. I find it unfair that we were charged full price, the same as the guests who were lucky enough to be offered 3 or 4 different meats. Any thoughts?

Carvery was nicely cooked and service was friendly. We had a nice meal out.

A lovely day when we were here and sat outside in beer garden. Food is OK but the menu is not as varied as it used to be.

First time visit hear although passed by it many a time … Staff very friendly and made me feel welcome … order taken and food arrived within half a hour. Nicely presented. Puddings are hard to resist. Nice clean pub/restaurant I couldnt fault it. Very relaxed. Happy customer.

Went for a meal and cocktails on the steak house launch and was brilliant, reasonably priced, lovely food and friendly staff. Didn’t take long for food to come even though we were in a big group and it was the best steak I’ve ever had.

Had a private pudding night and it was amazing. The main was great and the puddings! They were epic and there were a lot of them!

Stayed over while attending a function, lunch, drinks and natter with staff afternoon before was lovely, food excellent & staff very accommodating, fantastic room (Eden suite) perfect place for a function & again the staff were wonderful, nothing to much trouble, breakfast cooked fresh & plenty of it, will definitely be going back.

We called in by chance on way home from a day in the Lakes. Food very nice and staff friendly and attentive. No cask ales but a good selection of local bottled beers. We will call in again.

This was our wedding venue and we go for our anniversary every year, and we highly recommend it.

Lovely roaring fire with fine views onto Blencathra. I had a very nice cappuccino whilst waiting for a friend.

Sweet and cosy bedroom, clean and quiet atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and cheerful. DO NOT miss out the food from this inn, I had a lamb shank, a little dry on the outside but the inside was tender. The side mushy was delicious, although mushed but with slight chunk of definetly fresh pressed potatoes. Yummy.

Great setting, lovely staff. Room was available, ready and well laid out for staff.

Came here for tea. Everything was delicious and service was very attentive. Cajun chicken burger was nice and spicy and tasty. Portions are huge.

A wonderful surprise for 2 Aussies passing through. The staff could not be more helpful or friendly and were happy to assist with any query. To the point where we needed a bit more milk for a 3rd cup of coffee in our room — the staff member insisted she bring it upstairs to our room even though we were heading up there ourselves. You may wait for your meals as they are cooked and prepared fresh in house and to order — so that may take a bit longer to be served. Sit back, rela…x and enjoy the small wait (cooking/time) over a drink. The meals are generous in size and wondeful rustic fare. The puddings are very popular and it was interesting to note they have a monthly 'Pudding Night'. This sells out well in advance so a testament in itself. The room we stayed in was spotless and well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast certainly set us in good stead for the rest of our day. Again — cooked to order so a little time for delivery to your table. Enjoy a coffee/tea, juice and/or cereal while you wait. The croissants baked in house were perfection — served straight out of the oven and steaming (yes you're advised they'll take about 13 minutes). A convenient location to explore the area, close to some good walking trails or perfect for an overnight stay if passing through (as was our situation). Thank you to all. We hope to return one day.

AWESOME Country place to share a moment with friends — great venue to run an event as we did — very helpful.

Went for Sunday lunch with my family, the lunch was average but what outraged me was two days later monies had been deducted from my back account without my permission or knowledge. Apparently they had not charged enough for the meal and decided upon them selves to charge my card. They had my address and telephone number and also knew my face book contact details. What they should have done was called me first and ask my permission. Oh and my bank was useless. I thought the whole idea of chip and pin was to add a lair of security to stop people charging your card without permission. I will never be going back and I will not recommend them at all.

Lovely pub. Food is always good and it is normally not too busy. Good service and friendly staff.

Beautiful meal and surroundings.

I've eaten at Stoneybeck many times, but on this occasion I attended a professional event. We were in the Ullswater room which comfortably seated 90 people and could have accommodated more. Staff were very helpful and friendly and everything ran smoothly.

Really lovely, very welcoming, beautiful location.

Very good but maybe a bit impersonal and no hot chocolate.
