Just returned from an afternoon tea with friends. The food was lovely and fresh. There was a good choice of sandwiches and cakes. Perfect! The staff member who looked after us today was extremely polite and helpful. Excellent value for money. Well worth a visit.

Visited here for an enjoyable afternoon tea served in lovely lounge near reception and overlooking the gardens. The afternoon tea was typical fare with various finger sandwiches and warm fruit scone with cream and jam and a variety of small cakes. The waiter who served us was friendly and attentive and nice to be offered 2nd pots of tea and coffee without asking.

Lovely experience! We stayed in one of the suites and were really happy with the room standard. Large bath and shower room which we soaked away and enjoyed an extremely quiet atmosphere. We also loved the view of the golf course!

Great hotel and excellent value for money, booked on the day and arrived within the hour. Everything ready, efficient reception, good room with quality furniture and fittings. A small bathroom but well laid out and plenty of hot water. Good choice of restaurants and a spa to top it all off. I'll be back there again if I am in the area.

Attended a course here last week. The place is amazing. The grounds are fantastic and very well kept. The golf course looks amazing. Inside the hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is awesome. Would lo e to stay here overnight.

£13.95 for a fixed meal which was good if you liked the food, drinks quite expensive, service and setting very good. Main downside was we were squashed in for the meal, I had a step behind my chair which was at a long table so had to climb over chair to get in and out. Not a good look! Disco good.

Beautiful rooms and lovely relaxing hydro spa. Tried all 3 restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed the food in each of them. Friendly staff, even at its busiest.

Spa and room amazing. Are in Rib Room and never tasted food like it. Was just simply the best. Service was brilliant. Only thing u wasn't happy about was reception we arrived early and were told out room wasn't ready, so decided to go to the bar for a drink while we waited. Went back to reception to be told room dtokl wasn't ready so again waiting around reception area, bit of nightmare as no where to really sit. Then at 3pm we were asked by one of the concierge guys if we needed a hand with anything only to be told by him that our room was actually ready Nd had been for a while yet reception had not bothered to tell us. This was really the only thing I wasn't happy about.

Nice hotel. I didn't eat there I just met a friend but the place looked very clean with a more traditional style… not modern. Spa and Golf seems very popular here too. Staff were great also.

Ramside hall Is excellent for meals, we had our Christmas party night there and the top class service we received was 2nd to none. Food was out of this world. I would highly recommend this for any function xx.

Me and husband stayed for one night, the staff were very friendly and helpful, when we got to our room my husband had arranged for a bottle of wine to be on ice and a massive bouquet of flowers so thank you to the staff for helping with such a lovely surprise. The room was amazing, the bed was huge and very comfortable, everything was very clean and it was quiet. We got spa passes which I'm really glad we did it was beautiful and very relaxing. We went to the carvery which was nice and would love to try one of the restaurants next time. The breakfast was also very good with lots to chose from. Already planning our next stay.

Excellent as usual! Top class staff… Always smiling! Clean facilities. Delicious fresh food. Watch out for the mind blowing wasabi!

Our stay was a spa break with overnight stay in a premier room — the room was close to the spa which was great, and the room was beautiful. Service was friendly — particularly in the hotel bar. We ate in the fusion restaurant which was lovely and the spa is fab — particularly impressive later on at night.

Simply Spa on a Wednesday. Brunch on arrival — very good, especially the large pot of tea! Relaxing atmosphere and able to use all the facilities without them being too crowded. Just a few of the water jets not functioning, but otherwise excellent day.

Went to spa reception to purchase gift voucher, long wait yet again to be seen, only one receptionist on duty dealing with phone, bookings and vouchers, ridiculous. Other customers behind me in queue told to go to special gift voucher desk which was not manned when I arrived but was later after eventually receptionist called for assistance, too late for me. However these customers were then redirected back to reception as staff member was busy! Come on Ramside, please get your spa reception better organised. This is not the first time I've experienced this, it happens every time I've been either to buy vouchers/products or as a spa guest myself. I don't think spa guests want to be hanging around in robes waiting to check-in for treatments alongside contractors reporting in to do maintenance or members of public trying to buy products, gym members booking in etc. Why not move spa guest check in and bookings upstairs (where the treatment rooms are) and where there is a dedicated reception. The open plan ground floor reception gives no privacy when making transactions, giving email addresses etc. It's a shame that a fabulous spa as the Ramside is has these niggles but I'm sure they can be improved.

Went fir Christmas lunch with work colleagues, very nice carvery and sweet selection. Helpful staff. Poor at clearing dishes away when finished. Christmas tree is a sight to behold.

It's beautiful. It looks like an actual castle and the land around it is gorgeous. Really easy to get to and the staff were lovely. Only went for a job interview but would definitely go to spend the night.

Attended as a spa guest with friends and had an amazing time. The spa is lovely, very spacious and huge pool. The massage was great and all the staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

A really beautiful and luxury experience, rooms are modern and very tastefully decorated. Onsite restaurants offer great food and choice. Spa experience is exceptional. Highly recommend. Had a complimentary upgrade. The team at Ramside are always happy to help.

Excellent venue. Very well presented and well facilitated by attentive and friendly staff. Neville suite isn't well labelled. I parked outside it and walked round the entire hotel looking for it. D'oh. Good variety of buffet food at the event laid on by the hotel.

Visited the steak house with a group of friends and family. Great food, atmosphere and service. Nice large table to accommodate all 14 of us in a lovely big room, pre drinks in another room. Would go back again.

We visited the Rib Room as part of my daughters 18th birthday. The food was superb the ambience, staff and service was second to none. Thank you for making it perfect.

Visited with my work for a team meeting. It's a lovely place and the service was great. We had coffee laid on and a full carvery lunch and dessert. Top class.

Decent 4-star hotel with an excellent spa. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the steak restaurant good too, but the highlight was the new pool and spa facility which is free for guests. We spent several hours enjoying the pool, jacuzzi and steam room/sauna. No need to spend £30 to enter the other part of the spa.

I stayed at the hotel with some friends. We had a premier double which was lovely and very spacious and luxurious. We had dinner in The Rib Room… the food was delicious and the service was great. We also used the spa during our stay which I would highly recommend. Excellent massage and the pool and thermal suite were fabulous… extremely comfortable and perfect for a lazy day.

Booked a half day spa for me and my wife. The facilities were great and would definitely be going back. We also booked the infinity pool which is great to chill out on your own.

I stay at the Ramside on a fairly regular basis, visiting family and friends. I absolutely love it! Rooms, restaurants & spa facilities are top notch & the staff are extremely polite, pleasant & helpful. What more could you ask for?

Fabulous hotel. Close to Durham Newcastle and Sunderland but still has a "country" feel. It has many different rooms with individual character. Staff are friendly, courteous and professional — really going above and beyond to help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Great rooms and spa but the hotel haven't learnt to link the 2 areas togethwr6 and treat you as a guest.

Good steaks and good service in the Ribroom however, it is rather expensive.

Extremely pleasant hotel to stay in. I stayed in one of the newer rooms and it was first class. Couldn't have expected more. Very clean, modern and the reception and cleaning staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Lovely food and great facilities.

A gorgeous hotel in very pleasant surroundings. The staff were extremely helpful & polite. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I have just returned from the Ramside Hall Hotel following a two day stay and cannot recommend it enough. The room was excellent overlooking the golf course and I had the best night’s sleep that I've ever had in a hotel for a long time. The staff were faultless. You also have a good choice of meals in the carvery. A full English Breakfast is included. The Ramside Hotel also provided free Wi-Fi. A Spa will be opening shortly and I can't wait for my next visit to try this out. There is ample parking and disabled parking bays too. There is a lift to all floors which can easily accommodate a wheelchair. Can't wait for my next visit.

Have just returned from Ramside where I arrived ar 3.30pm on a Sunday afternoon for a visit to the practice range. I found it closed for 'ball collecting' and was told it would remain closed for another hour. That wasted visit will certainly discourage me from further visits. If it closed on a sunny weekend afternoon how can one be sure of it being open at any time. Royston Thomas.

Nice food, but not the most attentive service.

Must pay a security deposit of £100 cash or leave your debit card details with reception, to stay in the room you have paid for. Wont be staying again.

My Mother and I decided to dine for lunch at the Pemberton Carvery. We both found the whole experience rather 'strange' for a 4 star hotel. There were lots of staff walking about but no one to meet and greet on arrival and no one actually acknowledging the fact that we were there. After asking staff what to do, there were a few tables to chose from, but none of them had been cleaned, nor were they set out for customers, i. E napkin, cutlery, place mats. We sat down in the hope that a member of staff would come to clean the table (they Didn't) We then went for our lunch, I'm a vegetarian and there was only pasta as the vegetarian option, nothing that could be combined with a Yorkshire pud and the vegetables. My Mother had the beef, which she said was beautiful, plenty of it and very tasty, so no complaints there. We didn't find the area where you get the vegetables from very easy to access, at least not for people who are small or not very strong. Also, there wasn't a great deal of choice, and why were there leeks mixed in with the peas?. The Next step was strange too. When we had filled our plates we had to wait in a queue to pay? really, I strongly feel that this needs to change, who wants to wait in a queue, with their food to pay, all the time its getting cold and then have to pick their cutlery up on the way back to the table. I caught a member of staff who was cleaning another table for some other diners and I asked her to clean our table too.

The lad from the kitchens, Paul, is scrummy and delicious and a great lover. His culinary skills are incredible and he can do amazing things with meat and two veg.

Outstanding value for money. Could not recommend highly enough. Rooms are large and superb quality with plenty of cloths storage for the longer stay. The Rib Room has great food do suit all tastes.
