One of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed x.

We recently received our first online order from the Bank Ground Farm shop and we were over the moon with everything that arrived. The box containing our products arrived very well package and we were kept up to date with when the order would be arriving. The contents were beautifully packaged snd presented and we had no worries at all about anything inside being damaged. The service and customer care from Bank Ground Farm is just Wonderful. We will be ordering again.

I honestly don’t want to shout about this beautiful place for fear that too many people will discover it! It’s such a wonderfully idyllic place and one we stumbled upon quite randomly, I feel like I need to keep pinching myself to believe we really did just have the most memorable, extra-special weekend. My dad passed away suddenly in March and we came to celebrate my mum’s first birthday and anniversary since he died. We could not have chosen a more perfect place to stay. From the winding lane that leads to Bank Ground Farm, to the breathtaking views on arrival, to the cosy cottage feel of the accommodation, to the immensely helpful and friendly staff who immediately make you feel like you’re part of the family, to the outstandingly delicious food, I cannot fault one thing nor praise anything highly enough. Thank you all for making us feel so welcome. We can’t wait to come back.

What an idyllic location and lovely accommodation too. We have just had a wonderful weekend at Ground Bank Farm and even with 20 people everything worked well. Some of our party even managed wild swimming in the lake while the rest of us looked on in awe. This place would be fabulous whatever time of year and the view from the house changed hour by hour. Would love to return season by season just for that view. Can highly recommend this place.

The pretty location right on the shore of Lake Coniston, the rambling "not messed about with" 15th century farmhouse, the warmth of the welcome from the staff, the beautiful views from the sitting room and ofcourse the delicious, scone, cream and jam. We will be back. Perhaps next time to stay for a few nights. Thank you for your kind and thoughtful hospitality!

Stopped here en route to West Lakes, stunning location, superb food, very reasonably priced. And we had two little Swallows & Amazons fans with us, they were enchanted!

Had a fabulous evening meal here: really interesting, tasty, unpretentious food cooked superbly. And knowing the meat is from their own farm is an added bonus. Will definitely be back.

Great food, really well cooked and good quality steak from their own herd, excellent location with fantastic views, prices seemed fine on the menu but the final bill was quite expensive possibly due to to the drinks? Though none of which were alcoholic. An itemised bill would be better.

We only went to the Swallows and Amazon's tea room which is part of the same building. This was absolutely fantastic. Service excellent and tea and scones etc delicious.

I rarely leave reviews but thought I had to because it was so good. We had lunch and cakes here for a family birthday, then hired canoes afterwards. The food was absolutely fantastic, they serve some good local beers, the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful and the location is incredible. Shame we didn't have time to look round the shop but I definitely want to come back when I can.

Absolutely beautiful place, the scenery and gardens amazing, the young man who served us was very polite and helpful, such a peaceful beautiful and tranquil haven, will definitely be visiting again.

Absolutely fabulous! Lovely family run farm, hotel and tea rooms set in the most beautiful surroundings. Views like no other! The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was beautiful with views on 2 sides. We had lunch in the tea rooms and it was delicious. Cannot recommend this hotel enough, a hidden gem! We will be back!

This really is a lovely location, situated just above Lake Coniston, set in well kept gardens with access to jetty and moorings on the lake. The menu is varied with a selection of sandwiches, light lunches and drinks all pretty reasonably priced given the quality and quantity of the food served. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. This was our second visit to this venue and will certainly not be our last!

Four of us stayed in Beckfoot Cottage just before Christmas. We chose this accommodation because it offered two double bedrooms and facilities so that we could look after ourselves. We were surprised to find that the tea room and meal services were not operational at that time of year, so we were obliged to look after ourselves for four days. Perhaps that was a detail on the web site that we had missed? At this time of year the place was quiet, and the welcoming management seem to have been there for only a month, but they were very helpful. There was unlimited firewood to keep the fire burning (although the logs were cut rather large for the small fireplace). However, we had some problems with the facilities. The second bedroom was really only suitable for two children (it was small and had single beds) and the pans in the kitchen had no lids; we mentioned that to the management and were assured that it would be dealt with. In summary, we were out-of-season visitors and had to make some adjustments, but we enjoyed our stay nevertheless and this would be a splendid location for a summer or in-season holiday (bearing in mind that there would be a lot of people staying there if the overall accommodation was full).

Rented a cottage for a week, it was perfect. Stunning location, very comfortable house.

Stunning location, great food and hospitality as warm and relaxing as you could hope for. Great base for Lake District adventures with added magic of Swallows and Amazons.

Can't rate this place highly enough. Amazing accommodation. The food was outstanding and the staff were fantastic. Will be coming back soon!

Amazing place after a long walk from Windermere… local farmer advised us to walk road as field very muddy showed us this… has the best view, cakes, teas, staff, what a treat! Highly recommended!

Heaven on earth… especially if you enjoy a lake swim before breakfast.

My family and I stayed here last week and we had such a lovely time! The farm is comfortable, charming, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The views are fantastic and we couldn't have asked for anything more for our first visit to the Lake District. We also had three small boys in tow and they were very well accommodated (and delighted! ) by the farm. And last but not least, the food that we had in the restaurant as well as the meals that we had catered to our cottage were just perfect. Thanks all for a wonderful time!
