Just checked out from a lovely stay at the Avalon. We booked a superior sea view room. It was so comfortable and really well thought out. Loved the table and chairs in the bay window so we could enjoy the wonderful view. Our first night we watched the most beautiful sunset from our room. The breakfasts were delicious and a fantastic choice, all cooked fresh and could chose your time slot too. Great location in the village and free parking. Would highly recommend and would love to stay here again. Great place with great hospitality. Thank you. Amanda and Darren from S Yorkshire :-)

Spent 2 nights of our honeymoon here in a beautiful room with an incredible view, Anthony (owner) was fantastic along with the staff and we felt very welcomed, exceptional cleanliness and the breakfast was amazing. Thank you so much! Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the fish pie and sunset from the hidden tables in the lower yard. Magical. The pear cider is delicious also.

Didn't stay here, but did have lunch. Wife had a cream tea and was very happy with it. I had roast beef roll and it tasted great. The young waitress who served us was very polite.

Only had a light bite, but the food was really nice, staff were really helpful and friendly, excellent terrace at the rear with sea views, extremely dog friendly.

We were there just for the breakfast… The food was good and the people who served us were friendly. They do have a bar on terrace. But we had to sit in the cafe downstairs since it was raining… Although we did get a table at a window with a great view!

Only visited for a drink on their new terrace so cannot comment on food, but it was lovely. Stunning views and very peaceful despite being busy. We will definitely be back.

Tintagel is one of my favourite places and to discover The Avalon was a great treat. The delightful owner, Anthony, is an excellent host and has created a unique, boutique hotel that is very special indeed. I arrived in wonderful sunshine and was served tea on the terrace, with an uninterrupted view that looks out to the ruins of King Authur's castle, as did my pretty and very comfortable bedroom. Impossible to resist, I was up early the following morning to revisit that incredible step back in history. The Avalon is the icing on the cake. And the homemade cake at The Avalon happens to be very good!

Antony is a wonderful, accommodating host with a terrific and delicious breakfast menu! The decor was so lovely, from the dazzling tile in the bathroom, the pretty and peaceful garden, to the view of Tintagel itself. Gloria was kind and generous with her time. Lots of stairs, but I would stay again for much longer, if I could. Thank you both!

The Avalon — August 2016
My Sister and I had the Superior Sea View room and it was perfect… WOW… what a view… changing with the weather and light… the scene from our room never looked the same twice… totally mesmerising… could sit there looking out and let time pass by without a thought.
The beds were very comfortable and we both slept well. Nice compact shower/toilet ensuite, good sized TV and DVD player, music player on the bedside, big wardrobe and plenty of plug sockets. All in all the room was very tastefully decorated, fresh and yet still retaining character with the fireplace and bay window. Can not fault the cleanliness at all.
It's easy to see, Julie and Peter run the Avalon from their hearts. They are such friendly and welcoming people, making time for all their guests yet also giving you space… a great balance. The breakfast is truly amazing … so much choice! The Porridge Creme Brulee is one of the most divine things I have ever tasted! sooo naughty but sooo damn good! (certainly a highlight of most reviews I'm sure! )
The location of the Avalon is such a great little spot with a lovely garden, large car park and the whole of Tintagel area and the coastal path just a short walk away! It's also so close to other, surrounding places of interest like Boscastle, The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic and beautiful St Nectars Glen waterfall!
