Beautiful place, great staff.

Tregenna castle resort have just done us the honour of hosting our wedding day. From start to finish the whole team has been fantastic. Katie had looked after us and all the planning and stresses were taken from us. On the day Stefan was brilliant, he goes way above and beyond to look after his guests and all of our guests have been commenting on how great he has been. All the staff through out the hotel are happy and smiling and say hello whenever passing. It couldn't be a better place to be. The grounds and location are stunning. The decor is superb and every one recommended by the hotel for the wedding was also brilliant. The food was stunning, it came out for our 55 guests in record time, hot and really tasty. It couldn't have been better!

A wonderful stay, beautiful old castle on the top of the hill on the approach to St Ives, amazing views out to the bay. Very comfortable bed and pillows, a must for me! We ate out all the time so didn’t have any food here to comment on. Bar very comfortable, good selection of drinks and not overpriced. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Loved it and will be back again.

We had our wedding at Tregenna on October the 29 th 2022. The hotel was just amazing. The team of staff could not do enough for both of us. A massive thank you to Harriet, Abi, Stephan and Becky, a magnificent team that truly go out of their way to make everything run smoothly and special. Beautiful setting with lush gardens and amazing view of St Ives. Building and interior design is very good, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing. we stayed for 2 nights and was sad to leave.

We recommend this place after staying three nights as wedding guests. The staff were happy to help which to be honest makes all the difference when you are away with little ones. Beautiful grounds and views, we recommend staying in an apartment if you are a family.

Restaurant like feeding time at the zoo thanks to wedding party. Food undercooked. Restaurant staff poor customer service. Main room lights failed so had to shower, dress and pack by bedside lights.

We've just spent a week here for our honeymoon and it was perfect! The most amazing views, clean, beautiful castle and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We had the buffet breakfast every morning which was completely brilliant, the full english was so tasty and there was so much choice and to top that off they have a cute black cat who comes in which I loved because I'm a crazy cat lady 🐱🐱 St Ives really does have a special place in my heart ❤️ I will definitely come back here in the future. Thank you ❤

Beautiful location great building and amazing green areas around the site as well. Super friendly and helpful staff that are willing to go the extra mile at every point, some of the best service I've received from anywhere. Is a totally amazing space location and experience. 4/5 only thing that let it down was limited amenities. But would still go back in a flash so wernt so limiting to not return.

Fantastic couple of days away. The apartment was spotless and very warm. Food was excellent, and the grounds were beautiful! I’ll definitely be back for a winter break here.

We celebrated our wedding here and the staff and food service was amazing. We booked a table in the Brasserie and the food and drink was incredible. Thank you to all the staff for making my wedding day so special.

I had an amazing 3 days one of which was my sons wedding. The staff were extremely helpful and efficient. The room was large clean and comfortable with fabulous views. The gardens were a delight especially the walled garden. The food was 5 star. Would definitely stay again .

We just came back from a short stay here at Tregenna Castle, oh my goodness from the time we arrived to the time we left it was just fantastic. Such beautiful grounds and views (literally breathtaking).
The food was delicious and all staff could not do enough for us.

Absolutely — the size of the room, the cleanliness and the comfortable bed are enough for a recommendation, but add to the mix the melt-in-the-mouth desserts and the second-to-none views, and you’ve got the best mini-break away that not too much money can buy. We’ve come for 1 night from 6 miles down the road and it’s the best money we’ve spent all year.

Very overrated, outdated, overpriced basic accommodation, had a two bedroom apartment it was awful, small double bed is not acceptable in any way, it is rock solid and so uncomfortable, myself and my husband had to sleep in separate beds for the whole time! The wooden floor through out is so old it’s awful, the decoration is so outdated, hardly no kitchen equipment in a self catering apartment, swimming pool was fully booked already for the whole week on arrival (this should of been pre warned) as advertised a family resort, absolutely NOT! The park is falling apart it’s tiny and not worth a visit, the hotel is not child friendly at all! For the outrageous price for 4 nights I am extremely disappointed and would NEVER return!

On reception has a very unhelpful aggressive attitude so far that we ended up in the wrong room without the facilities that we had booked. Lovely hotel ruined by the worst reception staff I have ever encountered. Next will be my trip advisor review.!
Ps they don’t make youre room up change you’re towels, empty your bin or refresh your tea making facilities and the room was disgustingly dirty!

Me and my wife come here for our wedding anniversary every year if we can (and now with our daughter) it’s such a lovely hotel with great friendly staff. Just a short walk down to the beautiful beach and Town centre. We can’t wait to visit once we are able to again. One of the best views on the whole coast from the west wing!

Just spent 2 nights here and the experience was excellent. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and tidy, ate on Sunday in the brasserie restaurant. Had the 3 course Sunday lunch and it was excellent, food was warm and delicious and the puddings were to die for. Would highly recommend for couples and will hopefully be going back there again. Would rate 9/10

Beautiful walk into town from the castle. The grounds are beautiful with breathtaking views.
The rooms are basic. We were in room 86 which doesn’t have a view but it’s reflected in the price. The log cabins look amazing.
The breakfast was hearty and the staff were warm and welcoming.

Perfect we had our wedding at Tregenna on the 28th July and it was ‘our perfect day! ’ We loved every minute, thank you so much to all the wedding/ events team your fab! The staff here are fantastic, they really go above and beyond. I was lucky enough to hold my wedding here and every second was perfect. Huge thanks to Debs. All of my guests have commented that their rooms were great, stunning views and everyone was well fed with lovely meals and lots of variety.

Staff are rude and disrespectful. Incompetent at there jobs using member of the public to control traffic on events without knowledge of what they are doing. avoid this venue.

Was very lucky to have won a lovely meal for my Dad and family for Fathers Day. The hotel was gorgeous and the food was great, desserts were awesome. Thanks for giving us such wonderful lunch.

Beautiful building and surroundings, welcoming staff the meal we had was really good, my husband is still raving about his steak fettuccine, the bedroom we had was huge, loved it, definitely coming back to stay again.

In a fantastic position over looking St Ives with easy access through the beautiful tropical garden so you don’t need to find parking in St Ives. The breakfast is lovely and the Brasserie serve a great and tasty menu. The staff are warm and friendly. Although a little faded in some areas a lot of money is being spent improving it. A must especially during the 60 day sale!

Great hotel with lovely staff. The features like carpet, wall paint etc seem a little dated. The walk up the hotel feels like you are in a rainforest although can be a little steep for very young/elderly people.

What a beautiful place we went to a wedding there. Food festival and staff so very helpful. The gardens out of this world. Play park for children and lovely view.

Beautiful place, lovely views, Lovely walks some suitable for wheelchairs, others not. Nice place for a drink and something to eat sitting on the terrace or inside. You can play golf on its golf course or crochet on its lawns, or have a swim in it's pool inside or out.

Hotel in beautiful location. The room is cozy but it is better to spread a pite veil on the bathroom. Not only is there no courtesy kit but not even an ikea table to support the necessaire. And this English craze of hiding the hair dryer in drawers.

The place is amazing and fantastic views like many visitors have expressed. However, the English breakfast is getting a bit old because it is the same at every hotel. Now on some of the negative points at Tregenna. They do not provide bottle of water in rums nor is there any air conditioning in the rums. If you are at the Tregenna castle and it happens to be very worm during your visit, you better bring a lot of water to drink unless you feel comfortable to drink from the tap.

What can I say… absolutely amazing venue for our wedding on 29th May 2018
The staff were incredible, and made sure everything was taken care of. We had such an amazing relaxed day, it couldn't of gone any better! The food was also delicious and all of our guests commented on how good it was and said it was the best bbq they had ever had! We feel very lucky that our day went so smoothly and that was all down to the staff!
So, thankyou so much, I am sure we will be back to celebrate our anniversary for many years to come. Mr & Mrs Brine.

Really enjoyed our stay. We stayed two nights with our kids and thought this hotel was just lovely. The grounds are breathtaking, location is great and the breakfast was very nice. Highly recommend.

We've just enjoyed a 2 night spa break I would highly recommend Tregenna, stunning hotel, lovely staff and excellent service! Nothing was too much trouble… The bar staff were superb, suggesting new tipples I cannot fault anything Thankyou so much.

A great value for money stay with views to die for! Very friendly staff and management with a great atmosphere felt very welcome and comfortable here pity that we have to leave. Thank you to all that run the establishment. Would recommend a stay here but I would advise anyone to book direct.

I stayed here for a long weekend a while ago and it was the most beautiful place I've ever been. It's quite easy to find once you get off the train, although be warned: there's quite a hill up to the hotel! And another hill down to the beach, which is steeper. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. There's a golf course, but also lots of free space to wander and kids to run around if you have them. There's also a swimming pool which overlooks the town and sea, which there were always little kids in. Seems more of a family area. There's a bar inside with seating outdoors, so you can stay in and watch footie or go out and sit in the sun. At the bar you can also order food; we ordered a pizza and a burger which we took up to our room. There's also a dining hall, which I can tell you had amaaazing breakfasts! You can get a full English, but I actually loved the fruit and pastries. I can't attest for the spa because it didn't use it, but they have one and I'm sure its services are a high standard. Little pricey, but I guess it's what you'd expect? Lots to do in the surrounding area, from restaurants to cute shops or a day at the beach. There's a cute comic book shop called Dragon's Hoard in the back streets. Only downside: there was a wedding every day we were there, so we constantly had to take different routes to avoid interfering. Not that big an issue though.

We had a lovely weekend, the hotel is in a lovely setting with a golf course. The food was excellent. Indoor pool etc, spa packages too. Would I come here again-yes.

The room was newly redecorated and very well done. The breakfast buffet was good with lots of options. The location of Tregenna remains superb if visiting St Ives.

Quite easily the worst nights sleep I have had in a hotel ever. It started when we checked in only to find the room hadn’t been made up so we had to hand the keys back in and wait around whilst they cleaned the room. Then there is a back door to the room that leads out to a shared garden area but this door will not stay open when it is windy so it kept slamming shut almost catching my partner and I on numerous occasions. There are blinds on this back door and the wind caught one of the slats of the blind, ripped it off from the plastic and now it is just sitting on the floor. All during the night there are a couple of green lights built into the ceiling that can’t be turned off, I have no idea what they are for but when you open your eyes and see them once that’s it I couldn’t get back to sleep again. At 04:30am this morning the motor on the fridge decided to start up which was rattling very loud which again woke us up.

Beautiful building located in stunning grounds & overall a nice hotel. Some rooms have sea views. However, little touches need improving. The pillows are too flimsy and do not support your neck. The only powerpoints in our room were nowhere near the bed. The worst thing however was the behaviour of the restaurant manager. He was very impatient & twitchy about turnaround times. He was issuing glares to our fellow wedding guests who remained at their tables too long after their coffees were served & was exactly the same at breakfast. He came up to tables and basically told everyone they had to leave. He needs to learn patience & some people skills. The hotel reception staff as a contrast, were lovely.

Fantastic historic building a very short walk from St Ives. It overlooks Porthminster Beach. Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Breakfast was buffet style and delicious. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely return.

Lovely place. The gym is small now. One treadmill one cycle and one rowing machine. Friendly service. Nice little bar with food served.

Tregenna, grounds are lovely, Ceremony and function room beautiful, food was outstanding I would thoroughly recommend them for any function oh and forgot the staff, amazing could not do enough for us from first booking till we left the next day. Just one suggestion for the future, the bridal/honeymoon was lovely but perhaps a complimentary bottle of bubbly and some petals on the bed would have been a nice touch maybe.

Beautiful place and the staff and facilities are amazing… had a slight issue with our room so they upgraded us to one of the apartments. The grounds are incredible and definitely helped to work of the weight I've probably gained eating in all the hotels restaurants. I think I could get used to living in a castle!

Staff went out their way to assist with all aspects — brought the all important forgotten hair conditioner (for the wife). Weather was awful so decided on take away in the room and reception provided plates and cutlery. Breakfast was good — talk of the breakfast room was having to put bread through toaster twice for it be called 'toast' — if that is the top talking point then hotel have done very well. Pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room excellent too. Very comfy beds. If I had to bring up one less than excellent point 'the hallways were exceptionally warm (hot). Overall superb value and experience.

We stayed on a 2-night off-peak deal which made it very affordable. We were very impressed by the lovely room, food, staff, location and spa/pool facilities! There was a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space. It's a short walk into St Ives from the hotel — took us about ten minutes. Uphill on the way back, so would maybe suggest a bus/taxi for those who find hills challenging. Overall a fantastic holiday base, we will be returning!

We have stayed here twice, 2nd time was our wedding, the grounds and setting are beautiful. Our guest and us has a brilliant wedding! Majority of the staff are helpful and friendly and would go the extra mile for us! Receptionist staff your a credit to the company! The food and beverage manager the gentleman could work on his people skills, that is the only reason why I haven’t put 5 stars. The food was amazing! Thanks Tregenna we will see you again soon.

A wonderful stay the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. On approach the hotel looked regal. It was our first stay in St Ives a lovely place. However the only negative was a lack of hot water, Perhaps an update of the bathroom would be good!

Lovely setting, but not worth it unless you do it on a discount deal. Only eat in the Brasserie if you are happy to wait and wait and wait for your food without an explanation. Having said that, food quality was very good and staff friendly. Steep 15min decent to St Ives if you walk through woodland, and £2.20 each to get back to entrance driveway by bus (better to get taxi to door).

Stayed for a few nights here, the outside and the grounds are beautiful. Unfortunately the inside and decor of the hotel is massively outdated. We had quite a large room with views of the gold course which was lovely, but the room had peeling and damp wallpaper on the walls and also stained linens. Reception did supply us with new linen and apologized for the state of the room, a shame as it could be a very special place if the inside was as well looked after as the outside.

Rented one of the self-catering cottages at the last minute after our flights abroad were cancelled. We have previously stayed in the hotel and self-catering cottages before, so we knew it would be good, and we are not disappointed. The grounds are beautiful, St Ives is a lovely 5 minute walk away and the facilities are great, especially the pool. The gym has been downsized since I was last here, but with a little imagination I was still able to have a good couple of workouts. All in all, I would always recommend Tregenna in the highest terms.

Unfortunately I wasn't staying at Tregenna Castle, I visited so I could ask about there Christms dinners for non residents and pick up a leaflet. The place looked beautiful inside.

Had a lovely lunch in the cafe. The grounds are lovely and offer a number of photo opportunities.

Very friendly and helpful staff, amazing building, location and setup. Mix of rooms, so premium hotel can be affordable :). Room spotlessly clean. Breakfast very good. Pool reasonable, with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Nice walk down the hill into St Ives, and taxi a reasonable £5 back for those without the legs (or heavy shopping bags).

Very good staff, easy to make arrangements, especially if you have a bit of coordinating to do. Good is good quality and well priced, all set in a beautiful location.

The waiting times were awful. Waited 30 minutes for drinks to have them come out after the starter. The wait for the main was also about 30 minutes and portion size was small. But the food was nice when it did finally arrive. Finally dessert, which we waited 45 minutes for before the staff realised the order had not been placed. On the upper hand communication was good and waitresses where well mannered and the manager was very friendly. And once the issue was resolved the dessert was given to us on the house.

Service on arrival was fantastic and allowed to leave the car there from early on the day of check in. The hotel itself is a really quick walk into town and beach, with lovely grounds for part of the journey. The pool facilities are fantastic. The room itself could do with a bit of an update, and the shower was sub par, although the bathroom had ok decoration. There's also a gym and spa facilities available.

We've been many many times … thoroughly enjoy the Freedom of Tregenna something for everyone here … stayed in hotel rooms and self catering accommodation we prefer self catering and use the restaurants as and when … just a fantastic location, always enjoy the surrounding walks … most impressive golf course for a holiday resort just a steady stroll with some excellent views … it's simply a great experience for a great restfull or active break… thanks Tregenna. If there has ever been any issue its resolved without any fuss and you simply get on and enjoy your … due to their professional approach and attitudes of all staff.

Unfortunately we had an issue with our food taking forever to arrive and then coming out cold. However, I spoke to the manager and he happily rectified the situation to my satisfaction. Once I had been served a hot meal I was very happy, good quality meal and beautiful surroundings. Parking was rather lacking in this particular day. Looked like a fantastic place for a wedding though not overly impressed with my lunch experience.

When we got here we were told we couldn't get into our room till 3 pm we had requested an early checkin as we had driven for 11hrs when we got a room one wall was covered in water stains it was disgusting when we complained we got another one, the Wi-Fi didn't work for 2days we couldn't you, s the swimming pool or the sauna room as work was being done to them the staff at reception got crossed when you complain it has spoiled our wedding anniversary week.

One of the nicest Hotels I've stayed in. The grounds and views are amazing and the food is very exceptional. However… I have one complaint. We stayed in the Self-Catering apartments and they are just not cleaned well enough. On the surface things looked fine, but the dust gathering in the rooms suggested to me that no one had used a hoover before we arrived. They need updating, but I can live with a few broken sofas, and sqeeky beds, its the cleaness that really bugs me, because it does not acually cost anything to run the hoover around the rooms other than someones time.

We got married at Tregenna Castle in April 2016. It was absolutely amazing, the staff where very helpful with the planning and coordinating for the day and very accommodating to all our ideas and took a lot of the stresses out of the day. The location is stunning with views out across st. Ives bay, for us it was perfect and we had a beautiful room at the front of the hotel. A wonderful day with so much to thank tregenna for.

The hotel itself is in a great location with fantastic views of St Ives. The room we stayed in was a double room. It was nice enough but felt very bare and not at all welcoming. The shower in the room was also very average. Staff were all friendly and helpful. It's a nice place to stay but just don't expect it to be luxurious.

Lovely location, nice room although could do with a little renovation here and there but fit well with the castle theme with many aged features such as old (but quality) wardrobes etc. Pretty good spa and gym facilities although the guys have to walk through the gym to get to and from the pool and it can be a bit nippy. Great food in the evening and a nice breakfast with a good selection of cooked and cold. Helpful, experienced and friendly staff throughout. A very grand place but still felt relaxing and homely. Recommended and would stay again.
