Very nice guesthouse in an excellent location. Staff were incredibly helpful and very nice. The rooms are basic but lovely, gorgeous bathroom with toiletries and not only the usual tea and coffee in room, but also hot chocolate and biscuits! There were Three single beds in our room which was perfect! Usually struggled to get more than a double and single, not ideal travelling with a teen and child! There is a lift up to the second floor, however we were on the "third floor. " It is still technically floor 2, there is a small flight of stairs with two more rooms and the outside floor where the bullet caravans are. (available to stay in. ) So if you are a wheelchair user or have mobility problems, it would be worth calling to check you aren't on the higher floor. Gorgeous dining area and sofas to relax in the evening are situated downstairs. Breakfast is slightly higher than average, £9.95PP however, gourmet food is available. White truffle omlettes, French toast with fresh berries and creme frais (sp? ) and a variety of other delicious and delightful dishes to start your day. A lovely courtyard with tables is available to all guests, smokers and none smokers alike. Only a 5-10 minutes walk from the city ferry Dock, you can travel by ferry from the station or a 15-20 minute walk from the main centre. All in all, I would definitely stay here again, even the kids were impressed!

Brooks Guest House is very central and a good base for your visit to Bristol. The staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are on the small side but perfectly OK. The place is very clean and well maintained. Be sure to have one of their freshly cooked breakfasts, they are delicious.

Spent my 30th here in one of the "Rooftop Rockets" (50s style American chrome caravans on the roof) and the experience and service we received made for a very memorable weekend. For something a bit novel and different, I really recommend it.

Excellent location for exploring Bristol. The most beautiful elevator I've ever seen! Room was comfy and as our room was out to the street we were offered earplugs. Breakfast was great and the staff very friendly and in good mood.

Would definitely recommend staying here! Staff were very friendly and helpful, recommending places to eat and providing directions. Room was lovely, beds were so comfy! Lovely breakfast area and patio. Great location, really central.

Food was fantastic and the staff Cleo and Mariola were super friendly. Excellent/clean/tidy rooms at a good rate. Perfect location but the friendly 2 girls made the visit.

The decor was nice but the rooms are very cramped, but expected in this type of hotel. There are clubs and bars nearby that are very noisy and I did read one reviewer online complained about the noise in the same room we stayed, try get an internal facing room. The breakfast was a nice but organised poorly, there are barely enough tables despite plenty of room for more so you have to share with other people, something we don’t like to do. One of the servers was quite blunt and passive aggressive, blamed it on us for getting up late, we suggested we eat sat on the sofa which was frowned upon but they allowed, however, we did manage to get a table after another couple left and had some very tasty food, and served by a much nicer lady. The location is great, in the heart of the old town. Parking is a pain, as the garage is a couple of streets over, it only takes 5 minutes to walk, and this isn’t a complaint just suggesting you to be prepared to carry your bag up a steep flight of stairs and over uneven cobbled street. Thankfully there is a lift in the hotel. The worst part of the stay was the morning where we woke up in a pool of our own sweat, we found the heating had been set to turn on in the middle of the night, it was dreadful, we opened the windows, hence we heard loads of noise and also an unbearable stench of fatty grease. Will avoid next time.

Very good location, centered in the old town and market. Happy, friendly and helpful staff. Clean modern rooms and large breakfast area. Honesty bar is a great idea with very reasonably priced drinks. Entrance to the property is well presented and secure overnight. Discounted parking available through Brooks at a carpark only a few minutes walk away.

Fantastic smashed avocado on sourdough for breakfast. Lots of great options for vegetarians.

Most excellent veggie breakfast I have had in years, cooked by Paul. Also a lovely welcome on arrival. Comfortable bed and reasonable prices. Set in the heart of Bristol.

Wonderful location in the old city and pretty much inside the covered market. On your doorstep almost everything that matters about Bristol. Wonderful idea of the caravan uses ANNI50 shiny aluminum seats on the roof. Breakfast It's not cheap, but how could it be?

Nice welcome, good service & well appointed room. Bed extremely soft with creaky head board. Very poor Wi-Fi service here, even when recycled & attempted to reconnect. Difficult when you need to work from the room. Also, no heating in the room — receptionist had to find an electric heater to take the chill off.

Right from the get go we knew we would enjoy our stay. The place is wonderful and in a fantastic location. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and made every effort to ensure that we had a pleasant stay.

Breakfasts are excellent, room was quite small but adequate, the room did get a bit warm on occasion. Good location in centre of Bristol, kind and helpful staff. Would recommend.

Without the charm of the Brooks guest house in Bath. Slightly pokey rooms; loud with window open because of pub close by, but no air-conditioning or climate control with window closed leaving room stuffy and hot. Other facilities and food are good though. Unfortunately it isn't any better than a premier-inn despite more appealing decor.

A little gem tucked away in the city. Excellent accommodation, good breakfast and friendly service from the team at a reasonable price. Enjoyed my stay on the two occasions I have stayed at Brooks.

We stayed in one of the rocket caravans here for two nights in august 2017, which sounded quite a fun experience, but I would thoroughly discourage others from going for the caravan option. The rocket room smelt very damp and musty so We opened all the windows and mentioned it to the receptionist on our way out for a walk. When we Returned to the room later, we could not open the door to the room, no matter how hard we tried. Even the girl on reception, who tried her best to help, was also unable to open the door so moved us into another room (without our things which were still locked in the original room). I went out for some dinner, and when I came back the receptionist had managed to speak to the manager and worked out the unique technique apparently required to open the door — so I moved all our things into our new room and went to bed. To our disbelief, the next afternoon while we were out shopping we had a phone call saying that we couldn't stay in the new room any longer and the hotel staff were going to pack up our things and move them back to our original room while we were out. It seemed patently obvious by moving all of our unpacked things from one room to the other that we had an expectation we would be staying in the new room and up until that point nothing had been said to the contrary.

Very nice place. Really good food, friendly staff. Amazing location. This is a real gem in the city of Bristol. You won't be disappointed for the price.

Friendly staff, great rooms and such a well maintained building. Unfortunately some rooms do back onto a busy bar area which can be loud. Other than that a great experience.

We got a very cute three-bed room, which is perfect for what we were looking for. The honesty bar and the breakfast were both wonderful. I think the only downside was that we were there on a very hot day and there was no air conditioning.

Stayed in one of the retro rockets for 2 nights, absolutely fantastic place. The service was brilliant, everyone was very friendly and happy to help. The prices were fair and the room was lovely. Such a great position for the rest of the city, not too noisy at night and you are in the city centre with plenty of parking nearby. However, I would have booked a bigger rocket if I'd known how small this one was (I booked the smallest one! ) but it was still an incredible stay!

This is such a gem. It's in a beautiful part of Bristol, great staff, rockets on the roof were fun to stay in, and properly comfy beds. Whole place felt really chilled, welcoming and elegantly cool.

Had a lovely stay… just one night, but it's in a great location so I managed to do everything I wanted to. I should have done my research before going during a noisy and chaotic biker convention in the area, but that was my own fault! Nice hotel, quiet courtyard (I imagine it is usually! ) and everything I needed. Great choice for breakfast, too. Quite a walk from the train station so if you have a lot of luggage, take a taxi.

This hotel is in a great location and been cleverly designed. Lovely breakfasts and friendly staff. The only thing we werent crazy about is the stains on the coir matting on landings and throughout the hallways and stairways. Guests can be so messy! but it seems none of the stains are removable. This lets the whole place down. Also there is a very active and noisy seagull near our window that comes alive at night time then when its time to wake up goes quiet.

Lovely, city centre hotel. Modern, comfortable and reasonable value. A great place to spend a night or two. Hostel atmosphere, hotel luxury.

Perfect location right in the middle of Bristol's old city! I was surprised to find myself literally inside the St Nicholas market here! we were looking for something non corporate or generic — this place is just it! very cosy and friendly. The staff is lovely. Take the breakfast option because this isnt just basic toast and cereal! chef cooks eggs Benedict or other specials in front of you in an open plan kitchen. I would recommend this place any time.

We were looking for a romantic quiet and stylish hotel at a reasonable price and we found exactly that. Brooks Guesthouse was beautifully designed with a boutique and personal touch. The beds were luxurious to sleep in and the shower in the bathroom was very spacious and special with a heated towl rack! We loved the wall paper and the french windows overlooking a beautiful courtyard with a fountain. We will be returning there very soon when we visit Bristol as it was centrally located and easy to find the docks and town centre.

Room: well-furnished, but on the small side (no table or desk) Breakfast: excellent Staff: friendly and helpful Location: close to a noisy bar, extremely loud music till 2am on a weekday, intolerable if you have a room on the south side. Conclusion: nice idea and some original touches, but overpriced, and the noise ruined two nights of my stay.

A lovely place to stay. I am happy to recommend it. Staff is friendly and eager to assist. A little tricky to find but since everybody at the market knew where it was, there was no real problem. Beautiful.
