Delicious room service. We ordered fish and chips, chicken burger and a glass of beer. Hot, tasty and fast delivery. Overall very nice. Also have good air conditioning in room. Large bed. Clean and comfortable.

Dated hotel. Poor location. Didnt feel 4 star. Rubbish "terrance" next to a motorway. The service was quite pushy and the receptionist seemed quite rude. I asked for discretion regarding mentioning the name of employer as I qualify for the Gov/military scheme, but she was insistant on confirming loudly in a busy reception. This seemed to amuse her and left me feeling at risk for the duration of the stay. I won't be returning.

Just a lovely hotel lovely rooms lovely atmosphere the only thing that I can fault is the check in it took far too long and only two members of staff at the front desk apart from that would definitely stay again.

My go to hotel to stay in Bristol, always good and great staff, 3rd time for me to stay kn last few weeks.

It’s clean and ideally situated for sightseeing, we never had to move the car. The biggest bonus is the staff. They are all really helpful and incredibly cheery.

Just got back from our stay. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and in the perfect location of what you may need. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfy. Food was delicious and service was fab. Thank you Marriott for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back again very soon.

Rooms tired, bar area food and staff are great. The biggest Criticism is the lifts are always broken. It can’t be down to luck. Fourth time in the hotel and only one working every time.

I don't usually bother to write hotel reviews, despite staying in a great number of then, but I felt moved to say a few words about the wonderful staff at The Marriott City. My friend and I stayed at the hotel this weekend, and were truly touched by the unaffected courtesy and kindness of the bar and restaurant staff, the reception staff and the waiting staff. While having lunch in the bar on Saturday, and having learned it was my friend's birthday, the chef prepared a beautiful complimentary dessert for her and had the waitress bring it to the table with his congratulations. Then, when the young lass on reception learned the same thing, she upgraded our room to a lovely double-twin with a great view, and gave us complimentary drinks tokens for the bar. And in the morning, we were both struck by how friendly, kind and attentive all the breakfast staff were, without being over-the-top or intrusive. I feel it's a great skill to train staff this well, as I've experienced so many hotels where the staff just don't strike the right balance. The whole impression was of people who are appreciated and enjoy their jobs, and are doing their best to make sure customers feel happy and welcome. Well done Marriott :)

I stay in Bristol frequently and this is my preferred hotel. Professional friendly staff, nice rooms, good bar and restaurant. Also has an excellent gym & a pool, sauna, steam room. Well placed if you want to explore Bristol, the centre of which is literally through the door.

Clean rooms, good service. I was only in town due to a late flight. Convenient to the city centre. Wifi isn't free and once paid for didn't work too well. Decent place.

This is the first time that we have stayed at one of the Marriott hotels which we choice when we wanted to visit Bristol. On arrival we were told that the superior room we had booked was not ready as it was occupied up to 4pm that day which we were not to worried at that stage as it was just coming up to 4 o'clock. The hotel receptionist was very appologetic and she ended up upgrading us to the executive suite room 1008. We were very surprised and very pleased wish the upgrade especially once we saw the room. The room was lovely the view was lovely the bed was very comfortable. So we booked ourselves in to the Iron Grill for dinner and could not fault anything. The staff very friendly. The food very good. Could anyone find any fault with this hotel. YES turn out the lights and turn off the t. V. And listen to the air con units humming away on the roof of the hotel all night long which made a very long long night where we had hardly any sleep all night. On complaining to the receptionist early in the morning we were reallocated our original superior room 302 what a sleep 9am in the morning. We wished we waited for this room to be despaired for us. On checking out nothing was said about the problems we had the previous night. We were not looking for any discount but an apology would have been nice and gone a long way. I thought I would have been giving the Marriott Hotels 5 out of 5 but I could not do that with such a bad night sleep on the first night.

Very close to Cabot Circus, perfect for shopping and dining. If you're lucky you'll get a room with a perfect view of the city og Bristol. At this price point in London you won't be able to get a hotel room close to this. Most hotels in London at this price don't have air conditioning or even a fan.

What an elegant venue! Deceptive from the outside facade, which is quite frankly ugly. A grand reception area leads to sweeping staircases with the most beautiful chandelier above. The bar/lounge area has been a great place to meet up and feel comfortable. The staff are attentive and professional too — can't believe I've never been here before. Keep up the good work!

Great location, practically downtown! However, breakfast is too expensive and car parking… Too high! Then I don't understand the bail of 50 pounds on the price of the room… that in this particular case they gave me a part because, in fact, I paid for the parking.

It's a nice hotel. Very conveniently located right in the centre of Bristol and less than 15 minutes walk from Temple Meads station. Friendly, helpful staff and good rooms. I give it four rather than five stars as it has one or two odd quirks: the lifts are quite slow, but the stairs are difficult to find and more like a fire escape than something you'd expect in a hotel; the TV was on when I entered the room, but the only way I could find of turning it off was to unplug it.

This is the second time I've stayed here through work and is been fantastic both times. Firstly a special thank you to Sophie on the front desk. Much appreciated! The hotel itself is perfectly located in the city centre centre which doors make it a little noisy sometimes, but it's not bad enough to stop you sleeping. Facilities are great and the steaks in the restaurant are cooked perfectly. The bar staff are all really friendly and service is quick. Breakfast is delicious and this is now my go-to choice for Bristol!

Nice hotel, friendly staff and great choice of food and drink. The bedroom had a lovely big comfortable bed. On the downside the rooms are way too hot and we had to put the fan on as the windows can't be opened. The fan was very noisy all night We slept on and off but the fan woke us many times I was desperate for fresh air I understand why the windows are locked for safety as we were on the 9th floor but it would have been nice to have some fresh air Bathroom very nice, shower is hot and easy to use Nice toiletries too.

It's a nice hotel, though it looks a bit concret-y from the outside. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and the price we paid for them was in good relation to the service we received. I would definitely come stay here again in future.

For the price we paid for one night it was not worth it. The hotel room was a bit dated, the bath and shower could do with upgrading. There were no bottles of water (which were in my friends room next door and supposed to be in the rooms upon arrival), no brown sugar and no jacuzzi (which was advertised and a big reason for our stay). On the plus side, our room a balcony and the restaurant\bar staff were very good as was the breakfast and cappuccino… thank you Toby.

For the purpose of what we used the hotel for it was perfect. Good location, convenient parking (if a little steeply priced), very good food and ample facilities for meetings/conferences. Definitely recommend this as a conference venue.

Had a conference here with around 250 people, and food was sufficient for about 100! The vegan and vegetarian options were unacceptable in the amount provided, even though it was ordered in advance for the right number — it was just a few pieces of salad and fruit for the whole day! Almost no carbohydrates whatsoever. The refreshments provided with afternoon coffee all had meat in, except a handful of fruit skewers shared between dozens of vegetarians and vegans. Completely ridiculous.

This was an outstanding stay and very good prices too. Some other hotels were a bit cheaper but they'd have been not half as nice. Well worth it, and good price relatively speaking! Also very accommodating to my poor eyesight: one of the lovely maids helped me with all my bags and set it up in my room with me!

Very nice hotel. The service here was professional and courteous. The rooms were ok and a good size. It was a bonus to have a fridge. The only down side was the TV, it was far too big for the room. The hotel is well located and next to Cabot circus shopping centre.

A very nice and comfortable Marriott Hotel. The room was nice, with a good layout. A very large TV ideal if you want to watch a blockbuster while you're staying there. A good desk for those that require a working space. The grid iron restaurant for breakfast was well stocked and staff available for any questions you may have. Would recommend staying here if you wanted somewhere a little more upmarket to stay. The only criticism of have is the fact that the ncp car park next door is expensive (£17 a day (and that's a deal you get with the Marriott hotel) ). Also some areas surrounding the car park towards the rear of the hotel attract loitering etc… But that's a small issue in comparison to the rest of the hotel.

It is in the heart of Bristol, the rooms are nice and the service is very good. If you pay with Visa you get breakfast and the Wi-Fi is free if you get partner (free). So it's all very well.

I stayed for one excellent night with my partner at this establishment and can only say that I wish there were a 6-star rating option. For the price we paid, there is simply no beating it. The reception staff were attentive and friendly, assisting when queried and check-in and check-out was a breeze. On the 9th floor, views of Bristol were excellent and the tea and coffee making facilities were just what was needed in order to have a delicious beverage whilst surveying the city, first thing in the morning. The bathroom was clean and the selection of toiletries was copious. We didn't opt for in-room dining, but the menu was comprehensive and all sounded great. Would recommend!

It's a nice hotel, although the leisure facilities need to be managed much better. We tried to use the pool but a woman and her children came in, removed our belongings (including my glasses which I wear at all times except swimming, showering and sleeping) from our loungers and proceeded to allow her kids to dive bomb into the pool, splash, scream and shout about in there. Ruined it completely for us especially when I am faced with the prospect of someone removing belongings that I need to actually see and putting them on the floor for her own selfish reasons. They could have easily been broken leaving me unable to walk around, drive or do anything. The room was okay, they are slightly dated and we faced out onto student accommodation which isn't the best view and there is various bits of graffiti scrawled on the windows. Breakfast was interesting as we were placed miles away from the breakfast buffet in the bar area and had to walk back with our meals on the hot plates. Honestly we expect better from a Marriott especially for the price we paid.

The staff were very helpful, we got to chose which floor we wanted to stay on. Room was amazing, service was amazing. The pool and sauna was free which was also amazing. At the time we stayed, sadly the steam room was out of order.

Went there for my Christmas meal the food was disgusting! rock hard potatoes, and it was far to busy as if they crammed as many parties in one night as humanly possible and the staff where rushed off their feet. The lady in reception didn't direct us to our part very well as we got lost in that maze they call a hotel. Not worth the price they charge per head.

Hassle-free overnight stay, staff friendly and welcoming on arrival. Room clean and everything in working order. Bed was comfy and slept soundly. Great location for shopping in Cabot Circus and the nearby Christmas market.

We attended here for the works Christmas party, and we now sincerely wish we didn't. We arrived when instructed and were promptly told the food had been delayed by an hour, but credit to them they tried to make up for this with giving us some of Sarsons finest 'wine'. 1 hour and 45 minutes later they served the starters, and even though most people were ravenous by this point nearly all starters went untouched as they were almost inedible. Warm alcohol was on offer to quench our thirst between meals and by the time the main came out mine didn't touch the sides, not because it was good but because at nearly 10pm (we were told to arrive at 7pm) I had no other choice. The only thing I can compare the main to is a microwave roast dinner… we didn't even stay for the pudding. Woeful.

We suppose to get Halal food which we have been confirmed but when the food arrived it wasn’t halal & the manager wasn’t bothered at all, absolutely disgusting Will never recommend them.

Lovely room. Breakfast is great and staff very helpful. A nice touch is that they ask at breakfast if you would like a takeaway cup for your coffee. Great if in a rush. Also they include some takeaway cups in the room. Tv was huge and even offered mirroring from my phone… Excellent for the movies I have. Would stay again.

The hotel was welcoming and the bar served a good selection of drinks, the view from the balcony of ab7th floor room was good, and it is close to lots of restaurants and other evening entertainment. The only issue I had was that the bed was a little too hot for my liking.

I am staying at the here at the moment. Staff very friendly, room not bad. However, very over priced at the bar. Particularly disappointed with having just paid £238 for two nights, that there are additional charges for Wi-Fi. Could have stayed at premier inn for considerably less and had all these things thrown into the price. Get into the 21st century guys!

Nice location, next to Castle Park. Reduction on parking cost next door on check out. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Nice air con in the room too.

The location is excellent. In the centre with everything you could want nearby, a local Sainsbury's etc. The service and staff there are very accommodating. They make sure you have all you need.

Very clean and lovely staff. The breakfast was great too! Only gripe was that there are no baby change facilities although staff haphazardly thought there might be a changing desk in the leisure centre. The reception team fed back our complaint and we received a little something to say sorry. Overall very satisfied with our stay and our daughter loved the popcorn machine in the evenings.

I only sampled the bar / terrace which were very good. Beer choice not extensive but fine. Good choice of foods, nice atmosphere and if the suns out the terrace is a nice addition.

Had an amazing time! Great pool Great steam room Great sauna Great outdoors ping pong Rooms fab! 2-4-1 cocktails! Staff wonderful! And to top it all off, I was delivered a bottle of wine and chocolates because it was my birthday! A wonderful stay!

Dated but still comfortable. Has a good enough gym. Small pool though. Executive lounge is comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast is very good. Full English with good selection of juices, fruits, yogurt, and bread.

Had a wonderful overnight weekend stay, for the Balloon Fiesta. Great price for a centrally located hotel. Close to all the major sites. Booked directly with Marriott. Check in and out was easy. Lovely friendly staff — Rita checked us in, early, and arranged for a wonderful surprise when we mentioned my birthday; sent up a card and some chocolates — thank you so much! … Room was large with two large beds, plenty of space. Comfy beds, nice chairs, huge television, air conditioning, and clean bathroom with a bath and hot shower. Lovely views from our 10th floor room. Breakfast was lovely. It was included in our room rate. As it was a busy weekend the time was extended to 12. This worked perfectly with us. Nice buffet style, live eggs station, decent tea coffee and hot chocolate. Highly recommended!

The staff in the hotel are always very helpful, I really enjoy the gym and pool, sometimes it's busy and other times quiet, I preferred it when the pool is quiet. The gym staff are lovely and I am so pleased to be a member of this club. Enjoy. The iced fruit water is always to hand which is superb when leaving the gym.

We only stayed here one night, but the staff were friendly and helpful and our room was lovely. We were asked if we wanted a high floor and whether we wanted to be near to or far from the lift. Breakfast was great, large selection of cereal, pastries, fruit and cooked breakfast. Parking is £17 for 24 hours in the NCP next door.

Hotel have a great location as just next to Cabot circus shopping centre and not far away from train station. Visited Marriott for business meeting. Hotel is nice but not out of date in a sence of facilities inside. Also meeting rooms based in basement so no mobile signal available.

Location is ideal. Central Bristol and a 30 second walk away from Cabot Circus. Parking next to the hotel at a reasonable price. Rooms are a decent size, all have SMART TV's and air conditioning, however the carpets and upholstery are beginning to look dated. Food is really nice although expensive.

Better then expected, the beautiful lady who checked us in was more than accommodating. She recommended this nice little Italian restaurant across the street that was absolutely amazing! A good hotel, but I'd expect more from a Marriot. Rooms were tired-looking, a/c was very loud, shower too low (I had to crouch. I'm not tall). On the plus side, room fairly large, breakfast was excellent and location is very good.

I went to a Conference there. The business area is fine, just like the food you give.

Great facilities, lovely staff, but seem quite unorganised. Had around 100 people stuck in reception for over an hour, and suggested to a colleague she slept on a sofa in reception after an admin error caused them to struggle finding her booking :/

A "standard" Marriott. The building is rather 1970's ish, but the public spaces are well presented. Great front of house staff — very friendly. The rooms could use a refresh at some point, but a good Marriott in a good location.

I stayed here for one night this week, using my Marriott reward points. When I checked in, I was given an upgrade to an Executive room. The reception staff were delightful, extremely friendly and very efficient. The room was wonderful; very large, well appointed and very clean. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here during a friends Christmas Party. Check-in was a doddle and front desk staff were very helpful. The room was great, spacious with comfortable beds although the bathroom was a little dated. TV channels were great with Sky Sports channels etc. Hotel is smack bang in the middle of Bristol — close to Cabot Circuit and attached to a decent NCP carpark. Function room was a good size and the service staff were great all night. Catering was surprisingly good for a big hotel chain. Breakfast was your standard buffet affair but OK quality and it was all served hot.

I stayed here for the night with my partner and can honestly say what an excellent hotel. Facilities are perfect with a good stocked gym and pool. Rooms are beautiful. Staff are amazing. I was very impressed with every aspect of this particular hotel. If you are staying I recommend that you book breakfast on booking as cheaper than if you book later and the breakfast was awesome. Would absolutely go here again and recommend this hotel.

Overnight stay was a very good experience. Stylish entrance and typically high standard all around you would expect from a Marriot city hotel, lots of facilities onsite for the business traveller. Enjoyed the professional, polite and friendly staff. Everything in the room as expected. Didn't use restaurant in the evening, but breakfast was a delight. Buffet style but highly recommended, good value and plentiful with local produce. My only gripe was the ac in room — like a car engine when running… so I turned it off! After reading other comment's on noise… err yes its in the middle of the city?

The reception area was ok and the soup was alright but aside from that, we had to change the room we were placed in as it had a terrible odour and the air conditioning unit smelt even more not to mention no mini bar was available plus so many other things that were beyond poorly. It took two days for staff to figure things out from point of checkin at reception even after me calling so many times and still on day of departure I spoke with the Manager prior to checkout only to find her answer was she was too busy to update our notes before us getting to reception for checkout! Very disappointing.

Very comfy and plentiful breakfast although 12 quid to park is a diabolical liberty.

We were only staying for one night but got upgraded on arrival to a family room as we had requested Queen Bed when making the reservation. The lobby is rather grand without being tacky and it seems to be a hotel that attracts families as well as hen do's! Our beds were comfortable and had views over Bristol. It's on the oldie worldie side of decor but hey it was only for one night! You get vouchers for discounts at the hotel's Starbucks and bar and the breakfast was varied with eggs as you like it! Always a plus! We didn't have time to check out all the facilities but it's one of the few hotels in Bristol with an indoor pool. It's also conveniently located to the shopping part of the city and is a short walk but out of ear shot to the hip and happening bits of Bristol — recommended if u value convenience as well as your sleep. Close to Bristol Temple Meads station too — that's important if you are in a hurry to get elsewhere in the morning like we were!

Could hear the traffic most of the night, bed mattress was very poor quality as I could feel a spring which kept me up all night and was very uncomfortable, as I we were visiting with children I couldn't wake everyone up, complained to staff in the morning and all I got to hear was "I'm sorry about that ". Would expect more from a four star, not worth the money.

I only parked there. It was good enough, nut quite a steep entry to the carpark.

This Hotel is perfect! friendly guys, clean, big doubble room with 2 big beds, Prices for food (dellicious) ok. I felt sad when we checked out! (sorry for bad english. I'm German).

I stayed in Bristol Marriott City Hotel for 3 night, have spent over £300. After checking out, I found that I left my personal belongs in the room. I called the reception to see is it still there. 2 hours later, I was told the room it empty but nothing there, she would ask the cleaner and get back to me the next day. After a long progress, they informed me, your staff is gone. The cleaner bin it! Then I asked for the compensation, only £30 as the face value of my lost property is £40, I only require £30. Finally, a manger declined my requirement. It is not about the money, it is about the responsibility, safety and reputations. Can't believe it happens in a world class hotel.

Fantastic — the staff were so polite and attentive however one staff member in particular shone — Amy — she went over and above all our expectations — she even presented my wife with birthday balloons, chocolate, card and a free drink — she is an asset to the hotel — wonderful many thanks to all — I do not have one complaint and would be happy to stay there again and recommend to friends. Again thank you Amy.

July 2013: Saturday/Sundayat the Marriott Bristol City Centre. The hotel is next to a multi-storey car park with discounted parking arrangements for guests. It is also adjacent to the main shopping centre and opposite Castle Park which leads to the River Avon. For: hotel staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and breakfast was included. Overall, a pleasant place to stay. Against: coffee at breakfast was undrinkable but the coffee lounge outside the breakfast room serves decent coffee, payable extra.

In the heart of Bristol, very well located, very welcoming staff and very attentive to our needs. Very comfortable room with TV, toilet and breakfast kits, informative brochures about the hotel and the city of Bristol. Free access to the sports and relaxation club (gym, swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna) is very popular. Close to the bus stop which leads to Bristol airport. We are very satisfied.
