A three-day break booked through 'Secret Escapes': Can't fault this hotel, everything was excellent. Great room, clean, good restaurant food, excellent pleasant and service-minded staff in all departments; wonderful Spa facilities free for hotel guests, good location for various attractions in the area.

Lovely hotel with good size room for family of 4. Lovely pool and spa area. Bar and resteraunt serve amazing food. Friendly staff. Only downside was the smell from the shower curtain in the bathroom — swap it for a glass screen.

I have recently held my 40th Birthday Party at Cottons and I have to say it was amazing. We arrived on the Friday night, and left on the Sunday. The staff couldn't do enough for us, the food was delicious, the room was brilliant, just what we had asked for. I treated myself to a spa treatment which was very enjoyable. Can't thank you all enough for making my weekend such a special time. We will be back soon.

Lovely place to stay. Just at rewind festival and is only a 10 min drive. Great well appointed rooms ours had slippers and dressing gowns aswell which were great. Huge comfy bed with a choice of pillows. We will be back and next time we will take advantage of the spa and pool.

One of the best spa days ever! My Mum and sister treated me for my birthday yesterday there. The three of us had a wonderful time. Everywhere is spotless. Fixtures, fittings and even the linen products (towels, robes, blankets) where excellent quality. Friendly, efficient staff. Enjoyed our lunch — even down to the detail of ‘Happy Birthday’ being piped on my dessert plate. Only negative comment was two other ‘ladies’ there for the day — they did not appear to understand the idea of ‘relaxation’ and rudely spoke loudly wherever they sat! We asked to sit in a different area in the restaurant rather than listen to them! The request was graciously met and sorted. Only one tiny improvement — please put body lotion in the spa changing room as you have in the main changing room. We will definitely return!

Fab Hotel and great location. We only stayed one might but loved it. Staff were helpful and curteous. Room was very spacious and clean. Lots of goodies in room. There was 3 of us in room and we slept well. Made full use of Spa in morning and loved it, would highly recommend.

We stayed here to celebrate a relatives Pearl wedding anniversary. We had afternoon tea, evening meal and breakfast. Very nice hotel. Staff very friendly and food was nice and well presented.

This review is of the spa not the hotel. The place is small but very nice, all the staff were freindly and helpful. During our stay we had a facial and massage both of which were excellent. All the facilities were clean and you can get food and drinks at the pool. The two minor negatives were that there were children allowed in the pool which made it feel like a public baths with kids shouting and splashing, less relaxing and more time to go home. But I am told they are only allowed in at certain times. The second and more bizarre is that to eat your food you have to go to the main hotel restaurant rather than the eating area next to the pool. It didn't feel right sat with people in suits eating their lunch and discussing business while you are sat in your bathrobe. The two niggles are minor, overall we had a great day and were well looked after.

Decent rooms. Clean and efficient design. Good food. I would give it a 7 out of 10

Good ambiance in the restaurant, and the food and menu selections were excellent. Unfortunately the service was poor and the waiting-on staff were not very competent! There was a lack of management!

Comfortable room, great spa facilities. Not much choice for vegans on the menu although they did have dairy free milks.

Excellent location, really nice spa and pool. Room had eveything we expected and more. Breakfast was really good quality.

Reception is really well decorated, inviting and clean. Staff are always lovely whenever I come here. The food in the restaurant is delicious and fresh. Rooms are a decent size, clean and well presented. I've stayed here a few times and it's quiet so you can get a good night's sleep. Beds are comfortable and plenty of pillows are provided. Would definitely recommend staying here!

My husband stayed at this hotel overnight … he left his jacket and rang hotel an hour after leaving he then was told they have his jacket and would receive it withing few days of course this didn’t happen he rang back to be told it’s not been sent yet you should receive it by Saturday! Jacket never appeared we have spoke to a few of staff over weeks and no one has ever got back to us to tell us what’s happening so the upshot of it all is he never got his jacket they sent it by Royal Mail without recorded delivery which they told me they normally do but in this occasion they didn’t … the manger wasn’t interested she told me to chase up Royal Mail even though it was then who sent it and know what post office etc they posted from! Not a brain between them wouldn’t be surprised if jacket was never sent! They should think shame on themselves as my husbands employer booked this hotel all day and and also an overnight stay for a large number of staff… not even an apology they couldn’t care less gave it one star because I had to for this review to be posted I would have given them minus.

Attended my Granddaughter's Wedding here. They hotel provided the complete function to a very high standard. The bedrooms were spacious and immaculate. We had a large screen TV. In our room screening most UK. Programs, including sport. A most enjoyable function and stay.

The good: Nice spacious room. Large flat screen tv. Friendly helpful staff, really nice. Free gym, pool and jacuzzi access. Great facilities and condition as well. Great breakfast selection and spread. The bad: The aircon made such a noise, really bad even when turned off. The vent outside the bathroom was worse it drove me insane with noise I'm not even sure what it is its just a hole in the roof with mesh covering it. Bathroom is a bit dated and needs attention Stains on the floor carpet looks like old food spills all over the entrance. Vegan and vegetarian breakfast options were okay-ish.

Brilliant spa facilities; pool, sauna, hot tub all great. Restaurant very good quality but lacking in reasonably priced meals, wine list very extensive but expect to pay over £10 for a large glass. My standard double room was clean but cramped and I'm not sure the extraction was working, it had a distinct smell of damp will ask for a different room next time.

One night stay. Nice room and the spa is very nice. We had a post wedding group breakfast which was disappointing because of the service and a time limit on the room due to a follow on event. Overall though quite nice.

Had a fantastic weekend. Great room. Restaurant food excellent quality and spa facilities were very nice. We used the facilities on the both days and paid for a couple of treatments. I must say nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I definitely came back feeling refreshed. Would definitely recommend.

I attended for a Christmas party with work colleges. The meal was great! Drinks were expensive but lovely, and the entertainment was fab! But would of liked a few more resent songs to be played. Over all it was a fantastic night! Thankyou!

Went to Cottons for a conference. Conference facilities were very good. Refreshments were available at all times including hot and cold drinks, bacon buns for breakfast and assorted classic sweet jars in the afternoon. Lunch was at the restaurant downstairs which was excellent. Room was a bit warm for my liking but room was good size for the presentation.

Old something old fashioned and worn Out. No outlet according to EU Standard. Standard rate completely overpriced.

A lovely hotel. We didn't visit the spa facilities but enjoyed a great night's sleep and an excellent breakfast. There was a little mould on the bathroom ceiling and a leak in the breakfast room which isn't great — we had rainwater on our breakfast table — but the staff were lovely.

Went with my wife for our anniversary. The spa treatments were lovely — 5* for those! The pool was ok, but it wasn't a relaxing spa setup. The food was nice, though overly expensive and tiny tiny portions. £17 for a tiny main meal! Was around £40/head for 3 courses and 1 drink. The pillows were awful, and the duvet tog wasn't well matched with the room temperature (very warm! ) — worst night sleep I've had in a long time.

Visited as wedding guests, service and food were good for the event. Breakfast was manageable. A nice expansive venue, rooms were very "used" … Windows dirty and covered in spider webs. Generally nice, rooms could do with a lick of paint and some tlc.

The hotel is easy to get to, and is located on a nice stretch of land with plenty of parking. The spa treatments are well priced with various pre-set packages to cater for all desires. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, and the rooms were well furnished. There was no noise at night. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

Lovely hotel with some very nice touches such as takeaway coffee cups in every room. Little guests are very welcome and this hotel is excellent value for money. One odd tips here is to keep a tight hold of your plate, waiting on staff are terrible and will lift your half eaten meal whilst asking if you have finished? No! No, I have not finished this half eaten meal! Leave me alone!

The location is such that you need a car to go to the town. Taxis are available but need to be booked in advance usually. The hotel staff are friendly and premises are clean. Phones may not work in all the room and it is better to check if you need it. The Wi-Fi is reasonably good. This is my second stay in Cottons and I would recommend it for a few nights.

We were here to attend an 80th birthday celebration and every staff member I dealt with was fantastic. The food was delicious (evening meal and breakfast — only part I didn't like was the lack of apple juice in the morning). We used the spa, which was well equipped seemed slightly small for the number of rooms the hotel has, but I still enjoyed the visit. The bedroom we had was lovely and I thought the bed was comfy. All in all a wonderful visit, thanks.

Returned to cottons for our 5 year wedding anniversary, everything was amazing! We had our wedding party here, everything was amazing then, the hotel has been improved even more since. Most of the staff were really helpful and polite, especially reception who were lovely — The only downside was the bar staff who seemed a little disinterested, but we didn't let it take the edge off a lovely stay! The outdoor seating was really nice, sat with my wife having a drink with the sound of the fountain I'm the background, once it got too cold there was a large crate with blankets and pillows available, a nice touch! Thankyou cottons! :)

Comfortable hotel. Need a car in order to get anywhere though and is relatively expensive for the location. Would be good for a weekend getaway.

Excellent service and staff. Clean rooms. Lovely spa just a tad pricey.

Would recommend the signature rooms. Room service food was suprisingly good too. Staff were lovely and I will definatly be back again.

Best spa hotel visited in a long time. Far away from the rush of the city so relaxing. The restaurant at the hotel serves excellent food.

A very enjoyable & relaxing day. Although if I booked it again I would book directly with Cottons & not Spa breaks as they were not very helpful when I had to change my appointment. All the staff at the Cottons were brilliant. They could not have made us more comfortable and welcome as they did. I will diffidently book this again.

Lovley hotel. Great location for knutsford. (5min drive away) Beds are good. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast was really good! Large amount on offer and tasted great. The bar and restaurant has been recently renovated (or at least seemed like it! ) Mother in law liked the spa (tho busy) and said her massage was good to. Only thing that stopped it being 5 stars, was that the ground floor toilets are in a big need of a re-do! Baby changing here was not ideal!

Staff on reception lovely, very nice hotel and room, breakfast good, only minor gripe would prefer normal coffee in morning served by humans, not from a machine.

We went for a wedding. It was lovely, food was good and the staff were brilliant. I think we will book again, so we can enjoy the Spa and restaurant properly.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Came with a group of girls for a hen doo and for the price of the package, It was definitely worth the money! Staff were more than friendly, cocktails were lovely and the food was gorgeous! (I had the steak which was perfect) Rooms were ok, we had one of the bigger rooms between 3 of us which was just the right size. One of the dressing gowns was dirty, but the maids were kind enough to change it for us straight away. Couldn't fault the breakfast in the morning, on till late which gives you plenty of time for a lie in or a swim before you go home!
