Nice setting, very friendly.

Had Christmas dinner here at the weekend and it was sensational! Great price, atmosphere was lovely and the food was just brilliant! Highly recommend!

Friendly staff really helpful a credit to the owner, lovely clean room, didn't have dinner here so unable to comment, felt like a Chinese which is next door but one, wished I d eaten at the hotel poor experience, I would highly recommend this hotel, thank you to all.

I've been the last 3 weekends and it has to be the most well organised and safe place to be in Chester. Staff work hard to make sure of it and they can't do enough for you. Best place to be throughout this pandemic for drinks/food and to be with friends x.

Have to say this venue was extremely clean. The staff were covid aware and very attentive. Lovely place to eat and drink.

Had a takeaway roast for our dinner and it was fabulous. Tasted great, they weren’t shy with the portions and we still got to enjoy a lodge roast, just in our own living room! Highly recommend, especially considering the current circumstances.

Got to say this has been one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Compliments to the chef. The staff were really friendly and never stopped still. The atmosphere is lovely, nice and cosy, clean and looks like it has been freshly decorated recently (if not then they really look after the the place. ) we're here from Blackpool until Saturday and we are coming again tomorrow.

Stayed here 29/11/19 2 nights friendly welcome beautiful room everything we needed in room. The most comfortable bed iv slept in, in any hotel. Breakfast was nice plenty to eat to start your day. Great bar used by locals and guest really good atmosphere to start your evening out.

We had our mums wake there the buffet spread was amazing everyone complimented the food.

Had lunch there today with my granddaughter. Really nice food. Even the sandwiches were quite a plateful. Didn't wait too long before the food arrived. Comfortable inside and nice to sit outside too. Would happily go there again.

Lovely bar. Food is fantastic, all home made and reasonable prices. You are best to book a table as it does get very busy. There is also a very large outside area which is lovely on a dry day.

We stayed here for the first time this weekend. The rooms were finished to a high standard. Very clean, comfortable and felt at home. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely… Steak was cooked perfectly. The breakfast was lovely. I forgot to mention in the booking that I was gluten intolerant, when we checked in the said it wasn't a problem (something that has been an issue in previous hotels even giving them notice) I haven't felt as comfortable in other hotels as I have here. All in all, I would give Bawn Lodge a 5 star for everything. Should we come to Chester again, we will be booking ourselves here. Thank you :-)

Nice clean comfortable room. Good location 10 minute walk into town centre. Friendly staff. Breakfast ok no mushrooms but didn't spoil our stay would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Really good hotel and when we were there quite a busy bar. The only reason I haven't giving it 5 stars is that our room was at the front overlooking the beer garden which because it was a nice day was quite full and a little loud. We had a three bed room which was fairly spacious with a nice little en suite. The room had a fan, tv, fridge and tea+coffee making facilities. 15 mins walk into chester itself. Breakfast was included in the price too.

Just returned home from a 2 night stay. Excellent breakfasts/evening meals. Beautiful clean room, lovely big shower. Bonus was the fan in the room with the hot weather. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Will definately return again. 15/10. Nice comfortable relaxed stay.

This is the place to be, good craft beer at good price, excellent food quality service free parking at back.

Excellent range of drinks, could use some more heated areas outside given our tempestuous weather, and a little leas volume on the outdoor speakers.

Great place to stay with family or not very close to historic Chester… Will go there again soon. Good very good and atmosphere great too.

Myself and my partner went for a quiet meal, we were both spoilt for choice when looking at the menu and eventually decided to have the pie of the day and the steak. Both were cooked well and the steak was cooked to my liking. The staff were friendly and frequently asked if we needed extra drinks and if everything was ok with our meal. Great value for money too as we had two courses and drinks. We would highly recommend the Bawn Lodge for a good quality meal at a great price.

Excellent bar staff and good pints. The lad behind the bar called jack was a good laugh as well, made us feel very welcome.

Great hotel, friendly atmosphere and the bar area is second to none in it appearance and the variety of drinks plus with the new look in the garden it adds a hole new dimension to the place 12/10 *.

Got a last minute booking for a great price. Wasn't 100% sure when I arrived, but was pleasantly surprised by the lovely big modern room. Spotless clean, crisp white bed linen, comfy good quality mattress etc. The room had all that you could need including tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer etc etc. The drinking chocolate and cookies were a nice treat. Also very peaceful and quite nights sleep. The bar was nice for a quite drink and the breakfast was good too. Good location, really can't fault this place.

We stayed only one night but the food we had was really good. Breakfast was good aswell. The staff were helpful quick to serve. The room was comfy and very warm relatively clean. Free car park to the rear and only a 10/15 min walk into Chester. Good prices on everything beer food snacks. There is a little high street with shops directly opposite. All in all good value.

On Saturday 2nd December, my family and I went to the Bawn Lodge for a meal after the Lantern Parade at Chester Zoo. As always, the food, atmosphere and service was amazing. The next day my daughter-in-law called to say her Mother had lost her purse. There was a substantial amount of money in it too. We called the Bawn Lodge straight away and someone had handed it in. We wanted to find out who had handed it in, so the Manager kindly looked back through the cctv footage for us. We found out that it was actually a member of staff, Keenan. I wanted to post this to say thank you to him and all the Bawn Lodge staff! It's really heartwarming to see first hand how kind and honest people can be. Mo was so thrilled and extremely grateful, as we all are, so thank you again!

Great urban outdoor space, lovely atmosphere. Worth a visit if you're in the area, especially in summer.

If I was visiting Chester again which I have done I would not go back there. The room was nice but very noisy the breakfast was not good not much choice and the person that waitresses is extremely rude if you read some of the comments on trip advisor you can see which one theyre talking about she put a diabled person on a bar stool and asked if she was with the walking group, plus other remarks to us she was just damn rude, the fire alarm went off also and the breakfast was half cooked egg looked like someone had spat on it. Plus your eating in the bar were during the day and evening you have to wrestle with drinkers to get to your room. Instead go to the Holiday Inn where I was last week 10/11/2017 great room and the breakfast was lovely good choice and plentiful. And brilliant views.

Great Bar with a good choice of real ales at a good price. I paid £2.95 for a pint. Food is also very good. Really chilled out atmosphere, sitting outside soaking up the sun and nice music.

Stayed for 2 nights on a weekend away in Chester. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the bar is well stocked and always a good choice of guest ales on. Breakfast was good and plentiful, no need for lunch one day as we were so stuffed from our cooked breakfast. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, would happily stay again.

Stayed at the Bawn Lodge for two nights in room (a triple bed — all singles) and loved it! Close to Chester downtown. Great breakfast in the morning. Comfortable beds and a happening place to be.

Stayed for a night last August. Staff were very good when we found who to talk to at the bar to check in. Ate that night and had a few beers with the locals. Good people and good atmosphere. Breakfast was good and the room was good. Would recommend.

We have just arrived to day and our room as just been decorated out and its very nice will up date when we have had food.

Great value and very friendly staff. The breakfast was very well cooked and good quality. Room was comfy but the bed a little hard for my liking, others would no doubt find it perfect. The only shame is that they don't do food past 6.00pm although the staff pointed out a couple of places to eat which were very nice and only a few minutes walk.

We nipped into the bar for a quick drink or two as we were stopping at a b&b around the corner. The staff were friendly and the drinks were reasonable as well. The staff were great as we were not locals we needed to know what road we were on for a taxi and the hassle was took out of it by the girls behind the bar ordering our taxi for us and coming to get us when the taxi has arrived.
