The service was wonderful.

Excellent breakfast and service. And catered for our vegan needs highly reccomend.

Really friendly good service and rules are great in there.

We had a fantastic family meal out at The George, brilliant social distancing measures in place and the staff were so helpful and friendly with our party of 6. Fantastic food that I've come to expect from this restaurant. Glad we chose to dine here, we will definitely be back.

Cant fault anything about The George nice surroundings friendly attentive staff good service and the food was cooked to perfection and nicely presented.

Lovely meal. Staff were very nice. Friendly greetings on arrival. Very good COVID-19 safety measures. Great value. We had steak, desserts and wine all items were lovely. A very nice early evening dinner.

Used the app to pay and order. Lovely dessert. Staff attentive but not over powering. Plenty of space. Felt comfortable with the safety measures. And the discount scheme makes it very affordable.

Brilliant stay whilst down visiting family breakfast was beautiful lovley staff was a lovley forigen lady who served breakfast she was amazing with our son notbing was to much trouble for her, room was cleaned every day with fresh towels brilliant prices for such a brilliant hotel should be more for the quality and the effort staff put in would recommend it so much we will be back in August x.

Was supplied by central booking a 20% off voucher for food, placed order at bar and informed staff I had a voucher for the food, was told you don’t use it tonight you use it at check out.
Next morning at check out a man behind reception said the total cost which I then said, “I have a 20% off voucher” he responded with “you have to use that at time of order”
I said well that’s not very good is it… his response “no it isn’t is it” with no more said about it other than producing bill to settle. Would I recommend or stay at this establishment again.

Great staff, as group of 20 plus for family gathering and not a problem rearranging tables to fit us all. Well worth a visit.

Went to have a nice chilled Anniversary breakfast somewhere different to our normal ‘Spoons.
Wish I hadn’t bothered.
We were offered a nice corner table with plush chairs and waited for our food.
Teas and Coffee came and we were approached by an older female patron who asked if we were nearly finished as they normally sit where we were.
We pointed out that there were no reserved signs out and we were waiting for a food order and she still stood there.
She then said that her husband had to sit it these particular chairs due to his bad back.
Now people that know me know I have issues with my back, knees and hands due to slipped discs and/or arthritis and also can have issues with sitting.
I didn’t want to make a scene so did the decent thing I was brought up to do, and respected my elders.
Not even a bloody thank you!
The man nimbly walked up to the table walking better than I do some days!
I spoke to the waitress we initially placed the order with when we had eaten and although I appreciate there was a sincere apology given I think it is awful that they were allowed to approach us at all.
No one has rights to sodding tables, especially when every other table was empty. Perhaps I should have got up and just offered him the chair.
This was the first time I have been here and now unfortunately it may be our last.

Quality Food, reasonable prices and friendly, helpful staff.

Very friendly welcoming staff, a delicious meal, a relaxing time even though they were very busy as it was mother's day. We had time to enjoy our meal and were not at all rushed. We could chat and hear each other despite the number of people around. Thank you for a lovely time.

Had a booking for a big group here and the staff looked after us really well. The table was set beautifully and nice activity sheets and menus for the children. They made sure that the kids food came out first which I really appreciated. Other meals did come out incomplete and not reflective of the menu but the food we got was great! On site parking was expensive but you get this back when you pay!

Good but with some problems The restaurant is closed on a monday evening. If you want to eat you have to sit in the bar area. Was not told in advance. Rooms are dated but comfortable and staff are mostly very pleasant. If you want a better eating and drinking experience there is a very good Wetherspoons two minutes across the road.

Very nice place with enjoyable atmosphere, we sat outside in the hot weather but in the shade enjoying our drinks. Friendly bar staff, decent drinks, decent place.

Faded best describes the place. Interesting building, apparently in the throes of being decorated, as judged by the masking tape on the carpets and skirting boards. Room/bed was comfortable, though carpet slightly dubious to the touch. Cheerful and helpful staff.

My 50's & 60's tribute act was booked here. Lovely regular crowd. Great fun. Hope to see them all again.

I stayed in George Hotel for nearly a week, the hotel reminds of old english inn. The interiors are beautiful although stairs could be bit scary as they are well small and one has to be very careful. The room service was good, the complimentary breakfast is amazing. the indian banquet dinner is just amazing. overall recommend place.

Came here for a private meeting and was able to do that due to the sedate atmosphere. The staff are very low key and professional and the food and drink is good. Would definitely come again.

The staff were all lovely, Sam the new General Manager was brilliant, very accommodating. Therese was very friendly and gave excellent service as did Paula and Christian. The breakfasts were spot on — very very good, so thumbs up to the cook. Jenny the Head Chambermaid is lovely and the standard of cleanliness & care of the rooms exceptional. Obviously for such an old building, over 500 years old, things do need updating from time to time and this is being done but like everything else I am sure they do not have a magic wand. The George Hotel is very convenient situated on the High Street, in the middle of this old Market Town, with excellent free parking facilities for the duration of your stay and is an excellent base for exploring the County. We would happily recommend it and look forward to our next visit.

Excellent value for our 2 night stay with larger than average room. Friendly staff. Hearty breakfasts and good pub food in the evenings. Ideally located in centre of Huntingdon with good bus service to Cambridge.

Such a wonderful atmosphere! Great food and drinks. Locals and staff are amazing. Will definitely visit again! And is super close to the train station.

I stayed at the George Hotel in Huntingdon for 2 night; lovely building tastefully furnished and decorated, friendly staff, well equipped rooms and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

For a chain pub / hotel, you wouldn't guess! The lovely old building has a lot of charm. Perhaps not great for disabled access, by there's something I really like about the uneven floors in the guest rooms. The staff are all lovely and genuine too. I tried the steak and rib combo: which I can recommend as well cooked and extremely filling!

Popped in for lunch on a Thursday, food was slow to arrive, but once here it was delicious and fresh. Definite lack of staff for the size of the establishment. Also needs a lick of paint and a freshen up.

Bar manager was very nice and professional. Female one. Food value for money and tasty.

Super friendly staff and a decent sized lunch. Husband loved the beef pie. My scampi were plenty and tatar sauce was probably homemade. All washed down with a lovely big pot of piping hot tea. And they are dog friendly so it is certainly not the last time we visit here.

Thought we would try the new lunch saver menu. Greeted very warmly as we walked in, it was explained where we could sit and how to order. Food was OK. Server was attentive. The young girl who took our order looked like she really really did not want to be there. I asked for sugar with my hot drink and that appeared to be too much effort, she wasn't overly rude but was far from friendly, not one smile. It's a beautiful building. Would visit again.

I have not stayed here, so I cannot comment on the rooms. I did join some friends for a drink one evening and can say that the bar is pleasant and the restaurant area looks cozy. Probably worth a visit if you're in Huntingdon already.

Good pub, a very good night when music is on pricues of food has gone down well worth a visit.

Had the pre-booked xmas meal. I didnt think it was up to the usual high standards we normally receive. Despite having to order weeks in advance I was a little disappointed that they had ran out of the desert I ordered. Service was quick though. Will go again, just not for xmas dinner.

Christmas lunch. All booked but some confusion over whether they Christmas menu had started. Vegetables were cold and it didn't feel as festive and special as we had hoped. Mature gentleman (owner? ) Tried hard to serve lots of people. So sadly it doesn't get a rave review this time.

Went there for a wedding food was lovely drink very good priced.

Just been for lunch. Ordered lunch for 3 of us plus tea and coffee the waiter brought the drinks wthout saucers he said sorry we have run out of saucers there was not that many people in there. This place as gone down it was a very nice place to eat in but I don't want to eat with 5 dogs farting round where I eat if you must let dogs in can you not have a area for them the hotel is big enough.

The food at this pub is reasonably priced and, of late we have had some really good meals. The staff are very friendly.

Went to ub40 tribute. Looked like it was going to happen in the courtyard but turned out to be one bloke doing muffled karaoke near the bar where everyone was shouting at each other. Sat in the courtyard listening to muffled reggae, wedding disco upstairs and dance music over the pa system.

4 adults and a baby drinks to start and all going well. In for another drink and order the main meals. Not many people in hopefully dinner will no be long as we have chosen two roasts and two burgers chicken salad child's meal. 45 minutes just about check and see what has happened to ouer dinner and along it comes. What a wait for simple basic food, loose one star. Ooops no child's meal that's another star gone. Roast just under £10.00 each lots of beef, Yorkshire greasy, mash strange taste, gravy very thick skin vegetable OK vegetarian roast very with cauliflower pie/bake not very fresh or nice. Burgers not the greatest and value for money pretty poor. Sorry that's one more star lost, the promise was all there unfortunately it was all very under whelming not even any salad with the burger just fries and a pot of spicy sauce. The only redeeming factor was the nice friendly staff and the new decorations inside keeping just two stars. Not sure we will be acting at the George Hotel unless there are some drastic improvements.

Had an amazing stay. Fantastic value for money. Awesome customer service. Lovely cooked breakfast (wish I could have eaten it all! ), my only regret is we couldn't stay for another night. We will definitely be booking in again soon!

We hadn't been to the georg before for a meal, have to say well impressed, very friendly staff, excellent service plus food was very good, hubby had gammon and I had the baked haddock florentine absolutely delicious, drinks reasonably pricedWould recommend it to anyone.

Had a meeting with the manager Jonathan Ballard and he's answer to the rudeness of staff members calling people "Cunts" is I didn't see anything and tried to cover for them, the incompetence of the manager of the year and the staff members to sort out the DB level of music on a Thursday night was the answer off "I will do what I want" If I was people I would not go there not worth wasting your hard earned money on a hotel that has poor rooms and disrespectful staff and manager, think Jonathan Ballard should really take a look at himself and his staff members, if you do try to complain the idiot will just ban you from there, he does not try and resolve he tries to cover his own ass because he's not very good at his job.

An excellent hotel with a lot of history. The staff are friendly and interior is comfortable. They service is good and there is a great selection of food. A superb hotel.

Went to see some Shakespeare. Had a lovely fillet steak beforehand and a few beers. All great.

I hadn't been to the George before but when I saw the fun day advertised myself and my husband decided to check it out.
We ended up spending most of the day at the hotel, and even stayed for dinner.
The staff were extremely polite and the service was brilliant, they were all very willing to help and constantly making sure customers were happy!
For dinner I had the roast beef dinner and my husband had a burger. The roast beef was amazing, and the fact I didn't hear my husband for about 15 minutes I can only assume the burger was good too!
There was such a good atmosphere and a very friendly feeling to the pub. I am looking forward to our next trip, and can't wait to visit with our children.

Great location on pedestrian zone only, quaint historic high street. Large rooms with bath, kettle & multi channel TV. Good food though simple (pub food staples). Room service available. Decor dated but the inn is 500 years old!

Visited for a wedding party and I was not let down. The room was nicely decorated and the food was so amazing that I wish I had taken some home!

Good location, rooms where good and quite large some have 4 poster bed, staff friendly, restaurant good choice on menu and well prepared and served. All in all a pleasant stay and would return.

Good value, attentive staff, however after an extensive makeover a couple of years ago, its starting to look very tired and 'a bit frayed around the edges'

Beautiful bar and restaurant area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable and room clean. Only let down was the condition of the bathroom. Very dated, tiles pink in places due water marks, silicone around the bath and flooring untidy and black in 0laces and ceiling paint very patchy, especially when the shower was on. However, I would definitely stay again.

I stopped by for a drink after using their car park. The parking was very convenient and included a partial refund from the bar. The drinks were standard for a bar, the service was good, and the staff were friendly.
