Friendly staff. Delicious food. Cosy atmosphere.

Stopped in for lunch and it was delicious! Would recommend it to everyone! Lovely quirky garden and friendly staff that make you feel welcome.

I’ve visited The Old Bell many times before, and just this evening had ordered my fix of their incredible chocolate brownie to takeaway during lockdown! It’s such a good portion size, melts in the middle (even when it’s cold, I ate half at the time and half later). Service is always fast and friendly! Would highly recommend the Sunday roasts and the brownies, although I will be trying their pizza next week too which equally looks as delicious. Thank you!

Had a great takeaway Saturday night, the burgers and chips were delicious and very generous portions. Ordering was very easy and food was ready and waiting on arrival.

Stopped for some brunch today after a long drive home from Devon and had a great meal! Really lovely place and very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely go back! AND it only cost us £12.45 because of ‘eat out, help our’ which was a nice surprise!

Just had the most amazing takeaway roast lamb! Can pick up and pay there with zero contact (all contactless). Had to be done, nothing beats Iain’s gravy.

Good food in decent quantities for a reasonable price. Can't really ask for more.

Initial welcome was spoiled (briefly) as we were told they were closed until 6 due to a private function; when we said we had a room booked they then couldn't find the booking. But once found, we were checked in quickly and shown to our room. Room was basic, a little tired, but fine for a one night stay. Bed was very very comfy though! Enjoyed our evening in the bar, and the food was really very good. Owner/chef a bit gruff, bad tempered even, but later on once the bar closed to the public, we had a good chat and met his dog, Rosie; adorable! Breakfast was lovely… eggs benedict, although not called that on the menu, beautifully cooked and very tasty. We would stay again :)

Shocking food, even more disgusting service. Ordered a cajun burger which came out raw in the middle. Took back, this was put in the microwave and brought out again in under two minutes. I returned again as this is not a satisfactory way to deal with raw chicken. I was told "what do you want, another whole new burger? " By a young blonde lady working behind the bar. I said no, my money back please. The money for the burger was reluctantly returned. I realised the money for the chips hadn't been refunded which I then requested. I was sneered at and told "there was nothing wrong with the chips". The chips were taken away with the meal, and were soggy after being microwaved! Unbelievable.

Nice staff, run as a traditional pub and restaurant. Serving good pub food, Sunday roasts are a must. They also provide a Bed and Breakfast service.

Wonderful place, love it, the food and the kind hospitality showed to us by all. Even opened the kitchen after close to accommodate tired and hungry travelers. Especially loved Rosie the Westie! Thanks to all for such a great experience. Will return! Tina and James Dwyer, Phoenix AZ USA.

Really friendly people. Our food was really good quality and very tasty. You could tell there was some effort put into the meals. Beer was good too. It was very busy when we visited but the service was impeccable. Thank you. We will return.

Quiz night (1st Wednesday of the month) is always well attended and meals are available before it starts. Staff friendly and helpful.

It is our "local" and we go in there a fair bit. Always enjoy the food and nothing is too much trouble for Helen. This year they started a Wooburn Pub Lunch Club for the more mature. It is enjoyed very much by local residents. Choice of two menus — always freshly cooked for us and friendships formed. Good stuff. Thank you Helen and Ian.

We dropped in after walking our dog and received a very warm welcome. We had planned to go out for a meal that evening so decided to try The Old Bell! We had a lovely meal and I ended mine with the Flaming Creme Brulee (? ). It was indeed Flaming and incredibly delicious! Will definitely go back! My pork loin I could have cut with my fork. Well done!

Allways found the food and staff exalent.

We went there to meet up with friends and have a late Sunday lunch. We took our dog as it is friendly and were made to feel very welcome. The food was lovely and as it was a decent weather day sat and ate in the beer garden.

The landlady is awesome! Very friendly and welcoming, lovely locals too! Great nights sleep in a quirky room, loved the power shower, unfortunately I wasn't up in time for breakfast! Would definitely go back.

It is a traditional English pub dating from the 16th century. The pub is very friendly — both the staff and the locals. Accommodation is available in rooms upstairs or in a beautifully converted outbuilding, called the garden room. We stayed in the Garden Room and if was spacious and we'll appointed. Breakfast was included and it was excellent. The location is a little hard to find even with Santa and it is quite noisy because of road traffic.

Excellent beer, excellent food, all round what a pub should be. Well done.

Great pub, good selection of drink including proper beer. Food has always been excellent.
