Absolutely fabulous meal for five with 3 children catered for very well and great food options for adult's mains. Every member of staff was very friendly and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. Excellent quality and delicious food.

Had lunch here today with my friend — would definitely recommend. We had a lovely welcome, great service, amazing food and the atmosphere was really good. The gammon was perfect too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have not stayed at the hotel but had a fantastic Sunday lunch. The staff were very friendly the food was very good, would recommended this place for a good harty meal. This pub/ hotel has a good outlook overlooking the sea.

Lush rump steak with peppercorn sauce, lasagne was lovely & the lemon posset was really tasty! Breakfast was fantastic & we had a lovely relaxing overnight stay. We will definitely be back!

Dog friendly is a big plus point for me, to be able to sit with my faithful pooch by my side (inside or out) and enjoy my lunch is fantastic, and wow did we enjoy it, cooked beautifully and plenty on the plate too, excellent staff chatty and friendly, clean tidy pub with amazing views … highly recommend.

Very nice pub to eat in, if you take your dog even better. Dog nice on the bar. The biggest collection of whiskey's I've seen. You can sit outside, with your drink and watch the sunset. Really enjoyed the food there.

Having had some superbly served ales in the afternoon decided to return for our evening meal. Menu was a good range of choices and prices. Staff were friendly and attentive. Watched the Sun set into the sea from our table. Can't wait to come again!

Stayed for 1 night en-route south to North Wales. Lovely hotel, 3 bed family sea view room was beautiful, very spacious, bathroom with large shower, spotless with everything you’d need. Great bar/restaurant serving very good food, real ale etc. Excellent full Welsh breakfast (other choices available) Good location with town centre 5 mins walk. Highly recommend, very good value for money and very friendly staff.

Great. Classic waterfront pub in Aberystwyth, the rooms are delightful and all new, clean and well-appointed. We had dinner: all great. Try the classic welsh breakfast included in the price of the room.

Went for the pub, not the hotel. Was expecting more from the food as is a pricey menu. Gammon Steak very tasty. Fish (not the chips) decent. The disappointment were the chips, not even the kids ate them. You are basically pay for the location, close to the shore and a nice view. Good selection of beer. Friendly staff.

Just a five-star-experience! Modern yet traditional pub and hotel right at the seafront in Aberystwyth. We stayed in the hotel for a few nights up on the third floor with fantastic views of the sea (felt like sleeping on a ship). Room was tidy — furnishings with much love for detail — and the staff was very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely and plenty. In the evening we enjoyed the seafood and burgers and great selection of beer, ciders and whiskey in the pub. Would come back anytime!

Good pub with a nice selection of ale and beer. Food was of a good pub standard. But you really go here for the sunny days when you can sit outside and look over the sea and Aberystwyth front down to the castle.

Once loved the Glen but unfortunately dogs are no longer allowed in the rooms. Friendly staff, good service and the food is OK. When we did stay with our dogs we were lucky enough to wake up to the view of dolphins in the bay…

Great beachfront location. Quiet. Great food. The room was very nice with a very roomy toilet/shower room that was gleamingly spotless clean.

The Glen has a fantastic seafront location that on occasions has views of amazing sunsets. The front deck has lots of outdoor seating and dogs are welcome inside and out. I have eaten here many times. The food is good with lots of daily specials. The bar serves a selection of real ales and ciders that are well kept. The Glen is a large pub divided into lots of smaller spaces so you are likely find a table. There are two pool tables to the rear with a TV that shows sports — although the pub is so big you will not notice this if you are sat in the front. There is no designated car park although you can park on the seafront and on the road behind the pub.

Frequented this 2 nights running, 2nd night decided to have a meal as well as drinks, probably the best pub in Aberystwyth for both drink and food, quality of the food was superb, plenty of real Ales available along with other drinks, price of meals and drinks were reasonable, will be back again in the near future. An excellent dog friendly pub with HUGE meal portions. We opted for lunchtime "snack" sandwiches which were mahoosive and came with loads of chips and salad so we gorges our selves. Ave staff and a great selection of beers and largers.

What a find! Lovely sea front hotel with restaurant and fire. Fantastic whisky bar with a selection that's second to none. Will be making regular visits throughout the year for sure.

We had prewarned The Glengower that a large group would be congregating for drinks for a colleagues retirement. It was a very busy night, and some of us tried to order food only to be told that no table number meant no food. There were no free tables. The tall guy with grey hair and glasses was very rude when we ordered food and very rude to our boss who tried to put a tab behind the bar. Such a shame as The Glen had a much better reputation than this. Upside were the 2 barmen. Very polite and helpful. Very disappointed overall.

Good bar in a beautiful location. Food is very good too. Also if you are into whisky then this is definitely a spot for you.

Good range of ale, though very rarely any dark ales or stouts. The food is very good, and a decent range of vegetarian options.

Always a big fan of food and drinks at The Glen. My only slight gripe would be that portion sizes seem to have shrunk recently. That being said, the quality is still very high. The atmosphere there's is fantastic, whether you're out the front in the summer watching the sun set, or cosy by the fire in the winter.

I always go for a couple of drinks and a good meal, located by the beach with a beautiful view and lovley to watch the sunset! Wide range of food and day specials! Reasonable priced As well.

Arrived at the hotel at 11.55am today. There wasn't any free parking space nearby so we had to walk a fair distance. It was very windy and cold so we asked if we could sit in and wait for 5minutes before the restaurant opens as we had our 2 years old with us. We were told by a member of staff possibly a manager to leave because he said he was busy doing something on the computer. As it's a hotel as well I felt that they could at least let us wait inside with our daughter. Disgusting service. Even after we explained that it's not nice outside they couldn't care less. I will not be returting any time soon and will do not recommed this place to anyone.

I love the Glen, great food, great beer and they allow dogs! What more could you want. Service is fast and friendly, in the summer it's got a great terrace and in the winter a nice big wood burner. Perfect.

While not an inexpensive place to eat, the food is really nice, they serve a good pint, with nice atmosphere and staff. It's great to come in the evenings to sit on the seafront, though be aware if you want a seat outside the front you might have to be early! Overall a great pub.

Comfortable room overlooking the bay, lively restaurant and bar with solid fare and a good selection if cask ales and whiskeys. That staff were all really friendly and helpful.

Love the Glen, dog friendly not only in the pub but also in the rooms which means you can have breakfast and dinner with them. Great, friendly staff, very good service and the food is excellent. Added bonus, if you are lucky, like us, you can wake up to the view of dolphins in the bay :)

Lovely pub on the sea front. Ideal place on a sunny day to have cool drink & watch the sun go down! Seating outside if your lucky to find an empty table. Inside is large with plenty of seating. Large selection of speciality drinks ; gin, whisky, ales etc. Home cooked food with a specials board. Dogs are welcome inside & out.

Had an excellent overnight stay here, our room was the family room (15) overlooking the sea, it was so relaxing a fabulous view
We chose to eat in on Sunday evening and the food didn't disappoint, homemade chilli was delicious

Much improved over last time I visited a couple of years back. Much needed refurb which has made much better use of the space available, and still reasonable prices and good quality food and drink.

Fantastic friendly bar. But food service ends too early. We got there at just gone eight on a Saturday night and the kitchen had closed. We had a pint and I have to say all the food I saw being served looked wonderful. Just a shame we missed out.

Only recently started to visit Aberystwyth as my daughter has just begun her 3 year University course there. On a recent visit, with our dog, we needed to search out a dog friendly eatery. The Glengower came up via an internet search so we decided to give it a try. We've been back twice now, friendly staff, great food and nice surroundings with a great sea view. We will be seeing a lot more of this place over the next 3 years and aiming to stay over soon as the excellent quality rooms are also dog friendly. Keep up the great work all at The Glengower!
