Not so grand! When booking be careful not to get inside facing rooms as they are small, dark with only a small frosted glass window. I did complain and moved to front bedrooms with a reduced additional cost of £30 per room per night but these had dated decor, especially bedroom carpet and bathroom. Squeeking floorboards, no TV for first two nights, very noisy bedrooms at the front with traffic noise and then on Friday night a party in the outside bar. I have received an email from the revenue manager stating he would personally look after my booking if I were to return which I never will.

The Grand Jersey Hotel is a lovely place and I have no complaints about the size of my room or the toiletries and tea/coffee etc. Provided in the room. However, the shower is quite temperamental and it is very difficult to get the temperature right, as there is a fine line between scolding hot and freezing cold. Also, it either shoots out in a heavy jet or trickles pathetically, there is no in between. The bed is great, but too many unnecessary cushions. Finally, I witnessed the lift break this morning as the doors failed to open all the way meaning 2 women had to struggle to get their suitcases out. But, all in all, it is a nice hotel and I would stay here again. Have definitely stayed in worse places.

Rooms were clean and in a good location but could do with a redecorate and updating. Make sure you have a drink on the terrace bar at the front. Breakfast was also very nice.

Lovely hotel. So central to everything. Staff were so attentive. Went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. Great breakfasts.

Guests were restricted to access to the outside terrace bar to some degree when private parties were using the terrace bar. However, I would like to point out that the staff were brilliant, always happy to help and walk extra mile. Wonderful food, great menus. Staff friendly and cheerful. The Concierge Hugo sets a good example to staff with looking after guests and he remembered our names all week. Thanks Hugo.

So far so good, as the name states it's grand, it's a very well kept traditional hotel, the spar and gym facilities are very modern the pool is a good size the gym in on the small side though, it's a 5 min walk In to town where the action is soon nice and close the views of a day time are brilliant from the bar terrace on the front, I would deffinitly recommend the hotel.

The service is a disaster, the air conditioning is even at the lowest level still loud, in the bathroom black mold, the bathtub is so small, that you wonder how bulky people want to take a shower at all, at dinner in the bar you learn that No bread is served in this room, the check-in process is extremely cumbersome, to name but a few points — the hotel is all around a nightmare, how it achieved the stars is a complete mystery to us. We were there at eight, and Jersey is really nice, but none of us will stay in this hotel again.

Lovely old hotel, perhaps not very inspiring from the outside but lovely grand feel inside. Comfortable rooms and brilliant service. Good part of At Helier with easy access to castle.

We had cream tea. It was wonderful. Even my daughter who is vegan had full options so didn't feel left out. Marvellous service, very friendly & attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Stayed here a few times now, including last night. Fantastic as always. Upgraded to an ocean view room which was well worth it with the sunny weather. Our room happened to have a balcony too which gave a nice view of the bay. Had a couple cocktails in the bar which were brilliant before heading elsewhere for dinner. The room itself was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice too. We opted for breakfast in the room which you can pre-order up to 3am by leaving your order hanging on your door handle. The selection is wide and the quality is high. Followed this up with a quick trip into the spa. The spa is nice, can feel a little crampt if it is busy but they've done well with the space they have available. Fantastic hotel.

My partner and I spent the weekend there, it was his christmas gift for us to be together at a SPA hotel. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 star is because of their concierge Hugo, he is super sweet and very welcoming. He's the star of the show there… But I would NOT consider this hotel to be rated as a 5 star one. A few things here and there made me, on a personal level rate it as a 4 star hotel.

My incredible experience at the Grand Jersey hotel started with a smooth check in. Then a member of staff showed us our room and took our luggage up to our room. The room was massive and the bed was comfy. In the morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast. The selection was incredible and so was the yogurt. We were offered turndown service every night and received excellent sleep. However, the most amazing thing about our stay was the service. On Christmas Day, we thought the hotel would be busy and we needed afternoon tea. Despite everything, the champagne lounge was open and we got amazing afternoon tea. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Super location, short walk to shops, few steps from the beach. Staff in hotel very friendly. Breakfast-nothing special to be honest. Will expect a bit more to chose. If you staying in this hotel use the spa! Brilliant!

Lovely hotel, superb staff at all levels. We arrived with a health problem that occurred when the airplane landed. Nothing was to much trouble and Everything was quickly laid on to help. If you are visiting Jersey make it your hotel. You won’t be disappointed.

Resturant is good, room ok but it's quite noisy if you stay low floor.

Been here on many occasions for evening drinks in the champagne bar and terrace. Good service, great selection of wines, liqueurs, beers and cocktails. Dinner was amazing too and service was excellent in the restaurant.

A great 4 night break for our 1st trip to Jersey. Hugo and his staff certainly went the extra mile to make sure every need was taken care of. Looking forward to a return visit in the near future.

Great family hotel in convenient location. Limited evening menu, which was expensive, but excellent breakfast. Would return.

Wonderful meal. Great presentation and fantastic flavours. Very knowledgeable sommelier. Very deserving of its 3 AA Rosettes.

Very nice hotel, had to call reception one night because the fridge wouldn't stop beeping and the next night we were moved to a different room because the air-con was making too much noise and couldn't be turned off. Shame, as the rest of the hotel was very good.

It's a great place to stay and a great place to eat. Sit outside and watch any event taking place in St Aubin bay. Walking into St Helier or to the beach is quick and easy.

Paid nearly £200 for very small bedroom with uncomfortable double bed and frosted windows as no view except brick wall. (Premier Inn have larger rooms and comfortable king-size beds! ). OK terrace at front of hotel with great views of bay across from main road, but 3 out of 5 evenings they had corporate events on so limited seating area available. Small pool in basement. Staff friendly and helpful. Definitely not 5 star standard! I would recommend booking a hotel with an outside pool so that you had somewhere to swim and relax especially when weather is good.

Great staff, incredible decor — very upscale — and very comfortable.

The food is excellent, and while it didn't include vegetarian options (bear in mind it was not the full a la carte) the staff didn't hesitate to accomodate me; each day with a different, very good vegetarian alternative, rather than mushroom risotto every time! Service is attentive without being overbearing, facilities all in excellent condition.

Very pleasant hotel. Staff helpful (particularly at check-in). Great location too, right on the Esplanade road — convenient for everywhere in town. Restaurants close a little early for my liking. Rooms are well appointed (though the room I was in lacked any power sockets on the wall where the bed was which was problematic for me). Biggest shame was the TV. Lovely HD Samsung screen ruined by a SD stream from a server somewhere in the building (no audio on CNN — audio sync issues on BBC News Channel). The menu system they've chosen to use to replace the Samsung system is slow to the point of frustration. The concierge made a point to mention the free movies that were available from the system. I'm not surprised they're free, they all looked like they were out of copyright many of them dating Beck to the 1960s. I wish I'd had the chance to try the spa, but time got away from me. Overall a very pleasant three nights that I wish could have been longer.

Stayed December 2015, Room 209. Superior hotel in the classic style, not the usual modern hotel where you dont really know which chain you are staying in, our room was large, clean and comfortable with a seperate cosy seating area and a king sized bed, bathroom with large bath, shower over, lashings of hot water and good quality soaps etc. Breakfast came with just about every choice covered from full English, continental, porridge, fresh fruit, pastries and crousants. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We have stayed in a number of top hotels and I believe that the Grand Jersey is the best.

A fantastic hotel where the staff are friendly and efficient. From valet parking to providing advice to offering an umbrella, nothing was too much trouble. The dining room staff were equally as good; attentive, friendly, polite and efficient. Beautiful location, especially if you have a front facing room, and would recommend.

We stayed at the Grand Jersey last week in room 215. My advice is don't! The website shows the hotel as next to the sea, it doesn't show the dual carriage in front of the hotel. The foyer is bright and cheerful, the staff are excellent, friendly and professional. Unfortunately when I saw our room I wanted to go to another hotel. It was like a dark tunnel with a small window with a fantastic view over the sea and Elizabeth castle. The bathroom was like something out of the 1950's boarding house, poor shower over the bath, not seen a shower curtain in a long time. Rain came through the window soaking the windowsill and toilet. Ages for the hot water to come through. Air conditioning so noisy we only had it on when we left the room. Couldn't open the window because of the traffic noise. Spent 4 sleepless nights as the room got so hot. Then on the second day we noticed a peculiar smell, tracked it down to the blinds, most peculiar fishy smell. All the carpets and sofas are dark brown, not a 5 star bedroom at all. I asked at reception if we could move rooms but was told there weren't any suitable!. The evening meals we ate in the hotel were fantastic even though the dining room is so dark you can't see the food. Breakfast were unbeleivably bad, more like a transport cafe. Why can't a 5 star hotel cook the food to order instead of serving up food that had been cooked for ages and stored in a container.

The Hotel is situated just across from the sea front and not too far from the airport by taxi. The hotel is an older style hotel and the single rooms are comfortable if perhaps slightly smaller than the modern hotel rooms would be. I was travelling with my 81 yr old mother and we had two single rooms. The staff at the hotel were excellent. They were very friendly and always asking if we needed anything. The food in the Victorias restaurant was very good and the breakfast was the usual buffet style but with everything you could want. It was also possible to order separately if there was anything that you wanted which was not on the buffet. The Spa is on the lower ground floor and the facilities are good with a pool, saunas and a gym which has a good selection of free weights and cardio machines. More than you might expect in a hotel gym. The spa offers a range of services and the price is reasonable. Overall a very enjoyable stay in a hotel with character and excellent staff.

Good Pointst: excellent Spa/Wellness Center/Gym/swimming pool. Hot tub out of action all week. All staff were very friendly and helpful. However. Arrival 28.08.2010, shown in a back room with deleted from Windows (if you slightly open no view except the exhaust boxes of the extractor system runs 24/7 so little sleep and lots of bird POO). Rooms dirty with fabrics used on soil and other debris. Lots of dust on window frames. After complaint to Office United Kingdom representatives on the same day and showed her our room, she spoke to hotel staff: updated, better the next day but, small bathroom with shower over relatively small bath room. Not good, clean basic hotel, especially in mens toilets. Room service has failed. Uitgebreid breakfast. Very disappointing experience. You need their standards to a 5 star to improve hotel.
