Very peaceful an beautiful place to be to relax … the sunsets here are amazing an on a full moon amazing.

This is a very unique experience. Eclectic cottages reminiscences of the old times. The cottages are fully equipped but not modern which is what makes it so amazing. Lovely lush green grounds sitting on the ocean with a black sand beach. Hammocks are scattered about. The property has everything you need. Laundry which is completely complementary including the soaps, grills, beach chairs and towels for your use. They have thought of everything. Let’s talk about the staff. They are absolutely amazing. We had a small issue early in and they did everything they could to fix it and ensure our trip was comfortable and enjoyable. We will be back for sure.

Our daughter was married here. Beautiful and peaceful. The wild chickens are a treat!

Most amazing place on Kauai! Had a beautiful wedding there and the sunsets are spectacular. Each individual cottage is different and feels like home.

Great grounds that are rustic, spacious, and full of interesting plants, trees, and birds. Great place if you want to be away from it all.

Beautiful venue for a wedding. Parking was a little confusing as direction was not clearing marked.

This place was amazing! It was quiet and relaxing, family friendly and clean. Just a short walk from the markets down the street and a few steps away from the beach. The cottage was clean, roomy and private. Absolutely no complaints, I would definitely stay again!

Wonderful experience staying in this water-front, historic rustic cottage. Lots of charm and character in a beautiful setting with green lawns and large mature trees. Off the beaten path. Quiet and comfortable.

I recommend to stay I. The large 5 bedroom house with your family /guests. Highly recommended come here before May or after August. May is their humid season and there are mosquitoes everywhere. We stayed here for 2 nights, 3 days and then stayed in prince like for the remainder of our trip. Kauai gave us a special new place in our hearts that we will never forget! Mahalo.

The Best Vacation we’ve been on while living in Hawaii. We have been to all of the islands in the past year and Waimea Plantation Cottages was not only breathtaking, but the hospitality and service we received was absolutely amazing. We were helped by Jasmine at the front desk to ensure we received our kamaaina and military rate as well as extra towels “just in case. ” The cottage was extremely clean and felt like our own little home. We were even lucky enough to be located in a cottage next to some locals playing and singing music on their guitars and ukuleles, who offered us beer lol. Every night we sat in the convenient Adirondack chairs along the black sand beach and looked at the constellations. Every morning we Sipped coffee on the porch while sitting in rocking chairs. If you’re looking to relax and getaway, this is the perfect place. The pool was a few steps away and they have an awesome restaurant on property as well. 100% I would recommend this to anyone with or without children!

My wife and I decided to break up our 10 day trip with 2 nights out west so we can access the canyon easily. We expected rustic and to our surprise this place exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The property sits on what I consider a little slice of heaven stopped in time and the cottages are so quaint that you won't want to leave. Views of the sunset on your own private beach… make this a place you go for a few nights.

We arrived and we only had one cottage but we ordered two. Compensation was good though, we got upgraded to a very large suite. Having to move multiple times was a hassle though. Houses had modern amenities, but we're pretty dated. Restaurant is good.

Great place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They'll even assist booking tours for you. I stayed in cottage 52, it was really clean, roomy and well appointed. The onsite BBQ restaurant was great for both the dinner and breakfast I ate there.

This is a beautiful property. There were a lot of nice places to sit and enjoy the views of the water. The grounds are beautiful to go walk around. It seemed like there weren't a ton of people here, so it was pretty peaceful and secluded!

This is my kind of vacation! Quiet, comfortable and well located. You can hear the ocean, see great sunsets and all the stars at night. We explored Waimea Canyon, swam at Salt Pond beach (the beach here is beautiful but not good for swimming, but the pool is great). We shopped in Waimea and used the gas grills to make our dinners. We ate on the porch and watched the birds. We had a cat visit and little geckos every night. A wonderful place to get away from it all.

I want to love this place. I want to give it 5 stars but I just can't. The cottage we first stayed in was run down by insects and started to have a horrible smell. So we had to move cottages. Thankful they let us do that. They need to take better care of their cottages. There is so many things on this property that need to be improved and I'm a pretty easygoing person. But I couldn't get over how for the money we were paying, the condition of the cottages and the property were not like you see on websites or videos. Kind of broke our heart as how disappointed we were with this place. The restaurant is delicious though!

This place is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. The staff is very accommodating and you feel very welcome. The complete area is very clean and tidy. I recommend a nice stay on a late afternoon in one of the hammocks next to the beach or in these cozy armchairs and just enjoy the view and peace of this place. I really liked the history of this place and every single cottage as well as the atmosphere.

Great experience in cottage living. Older housing and plumbing, but clean towels, sheets, and furniture. Lovely pool, naturally muddy water at the beach (was worse for us though, because of biggest 24-hour rainfall in recorded history just before we got there). Great options for cooking at home (stocked kitchen, just add food), or on well-maintained community propane grills. Relatively short drives to most attractions, and onsite movie rentals for when you just want to chill at your home-away-from-home.

Clean Quiet (except for the roosters) very friendly of course. We have stayed here a couple of times already. If you want to book excursions, ask Malia at the gift shop. They are local and can give excellent advice about the trip for the season and weather. There are a couple of grocery stores in walking distance where you can get about everything. And everything it walking distance. You're going to love it.

We stayed here for three days and were very happy with the accommodations. Our cottage had one door leading from the grass parking spot and another leading out to the back porch which overlooked the sea about 100m away. The back porch had a table and two kitchen chairs and two lounge chairs, so it was nice to sit outside when it wasn't raining. The cottage had a nice bedroom, the bathroom was spacious and had a large tub and shower, and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed to cook several full meals. The cottages are located outside of town, but still close enough to be a 10 minute walk to any of the restaurants on the main road. The area around the beach is pretty, with trimmed lawns and nice trees, but the beach itself is a little blah, with lots of driftwood, dark brown sand, heavy surf, and muddy water. No good for most beach activities, but acceptable for sitting and listening to the surf.

If you enjoy spending your vacation basking in lush tropical greenery and beautiful Vistas, the Waimea Plantation cottages are the perfect place for you. Each Cottage has unique character and a retro feel to it. The staff is wonderful friendly and helpful. The abundance of chicken and kittens roaming around makes the vacation that much better.

Such a beautiful vacation! The cottages are spectacular and so well kept. The ocean is steps away, beautiful black sand beaches. Definitely will recommend this place for anyone looking for a wonderful, relaxing vacation. We’ll hopefully be back.

Beautiful little cottages with direct access to a dark sand beach. We stayed in C cabin which was a 2 bed 2 bath with ample space and an incredible gas grill. Grilled fresh ahi that we bought in town on the grill, watched the sunset. Simply amazing. Also, the shower in our room was amazing with an ocean view. Last, but not least, the front desk people were incredibly friendly and helpful. Such a relaxing and great place to stay if you want to check out the canyon.

In spite of all the rain our stay there was peaceful, the environment beautiful. Our 3 bedroom ocean view cottage was awesome! Lots of happy memories were made. Mahalo nui loa iā ʻoukou!

We are only 3 nights into our 6 night stay here and have loved every minute of it. We are already talking to the rest of our family and trying to work out a way to come and spend the holidays here! I booked our stay on a bit of a whim for our first wedding anniversary. I have to say, it was the Hawaii experience we had hoped to have. The cottages are adorable and well spaced. They aren't perfect, because after all, some are from the turn of the 20th century. This is not the place if you are more of a W or Grand Hotel sort of person. This is a laid back, charming place which serves up a quiet and relaxed atmosphere as the primary offering. My favorite surprise, since Waimea has only a couple thousand people, night is DARK. The stars on the beach were simply amazing.

Just like staying with family. My son forgot his pillow in the room. He loves the pillowcase. I called and asked if they could mail just the case back; they mailed the entire standard size pillow and the dikamond earrings my mom forgot along with a delicious bag of cookies and a handwritten note. You'll never match service like that. Truly a family oriented place.

The view from the hammock and the sunsets made this quiet collection of cottages a perfect place to end our visit to Kauai. The cabin we stayed in was more rustic than a five star resort, but that was part of the appeal for us, and the air conditioning kept us quite comfortable during our February stay. We loved the roosters nearby crowing in the morning (not too early). Our goal was to get away from the world for awhile, and this quiet group of plantation-era cottages was just the right place to do so. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous, and Malia at the gift shop was outgoing and knowledgeable and ready to plan/suggest any activity during our stay. We plan to return again someday!

When you think of the Hawaii, the Waimea Plantation Cottages are what come to mind. Each cottage is unique, but each are completely furnished and comfortable. You are right next to the ocean at the Cottages. There is a swimming pool with a great view of the ocean, including the Forbidden Island of Niihau! There is even shuffle board and grills for all to use. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You're also minutes away from a solid sunset viewing location from Kekaha. Tons of hiking right up the road along Waimea Canyon!

Beautiful and authentic. Just know that the surf is a little dirty. Not with pollution, but with tons of small sticks and nuts and rocks and stuff. It's not much fun to go in the ocean here.

Though I didn't spend the night. This is one of the most spectacular places on the island. The sand the lawn the beach is incredible. It is a little far from the airport, but that is also a good thing because it is secluded and nice.

The west side of Kauai is special. This place is a diamond in the area. Don't worry about all that modern expensive junk all the other resorts have, you don't need it. Enjoy the Aina and relax. This is the place to do it. Wife and I spent a weekend here and loved it.

We go every 2 years or so. Always have EXCELLENT service from staff, enjoy early morning coffee, quiet as we watch the chickens and roosters wander in front of our lawn chairs, walk the property in the morning or sunset beach evening. The place to go if you just want peace and quiet to relax.

We love the Waimea Plantation Cottages and have stayed in there three times and the fourth coming in February! Different cottages each time and love them all! We stay there for the peace and quiet and are never disappointed. No dishwasher; no problem! We shop at the stores in Waimea and have fun creating meals:). We don't travel for since we live on Kauai!

Went there for a wedding. Everything is great! The venue is next to the ocean. They had nice restrooms with AC! The only downside is the map of the place is confusing. At night, it's so dark, you can't see anything. So it took a while to get out. Becare of bugs flying around. But overall good experience. :) I would recommend having a wedding, if you are interested in an outside one.

5/5 this place is awesome. They have hammocks set up between the palm trees by the ocean and the sand sparkles because there's olivine in the sand! definitely a great place to be.

Love it! It's quiet, peaceful, spacious, beautiful, and very comfortable. It's not a 5star resort hotel with a spa, golf course and room service. But that's exactly what makes this place so great. It feels like home… And it's a place you can genuinely relax, unwind and unplug from all the noise… It's wonderful.

After paying $10 for a bottle of Guinness beer I feel it is too rich for my blood, but you should try it at least once to enjoy the location. 4/2017: restaurant has been closed for several months, along with bar. Check with management for details before arriving. Fantastic place to stay to believe you are really in Hawaii as it once was.

Extremely laid back small cottage living a few hundred yards from the beach. This is where the locals go, as evidenced by the frequent graduation/team pictures and weddings. The cottages themselves are old but well maintained and the pool and grassy areas are excellent places to hang out. Expect to drive if you want to see most of the standard attractions.

If you want peace and quiet away from the big city, then this is your place to be. Aloha.

Friendly staff but the entrance is the most tidy part of the resort. The houses have style but the upkeep could be better for the prices they charge. Here and there paint is coming off and we had the sucspicion only the floors are properly cleaned. Wifi and free laudry is good though.

The staff was extremely attentive to all of our needs, and they supply you with all the basics that you need. They want nothing more than to give you the best vacation experience possible. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and I would love to come and stay with them again sometime!

So laid back… the real hawaii. Rustic charm. Room smelled a little funky due to old building… minor detail compared with the loveliness. No hot tub. Amazing place to watch the sunset.

Very charming and pittoresque cottage. The place is very quiet and it's a pleasure to feel like home! You can also ask for a BBQ! Plus, it's very close from market or sea cruise!

The cottage I was renting had no window shades / door shade such that people could see into the cottage at night. Furthermore the front door was half screen half wood with no way of closing it. It felt unsafe — as a man I felt fine but if I was a single woman I'd feel unsafe. Because the front door was not able to be closed the AC didn't keep the room cool and instead I was partially cooling the outside (seemed wasteful). The location was good — close to hikes and ishatari (spelling) market for amazing poke. Unless you want just a place to rest after a long day of hiking or need to be close to the base I would not recommend staying here.

We spent 11 nights at the Waimea Plantation Cottages. We got the Bull Pen Cottage and absolutely loved it! The grounds are breathtaking! The cottages are rustic and full of charm. We have a 3 year old and a 13 year old. Our kids loved the grounds, hammocks and the pool. This is the "dry side" of the island so although the grounds look tropical, the surrounding towns are almost desert like. The beaches surrounding the area are not swim friendly but Salt Pond Park and Lydgate Beach Park are within a 25 minute drive and are great for swimming. The town of Waimea is right there, so you can walk to the grocery stores or to Jo Jo's Shaved Ice. We enjoyed it so much that we didn't venture to the North Shore until our last day on the island.

We stayed at the Cottages for our honeymoon in July 2012. It was one of the most amazing places we have ever been. The chickens were annoying the first two mornings, but by the third morning they didn't even phase us. There isn't a care in the world while stepping back in time at WPC. We loved our stay, and we will be back for another week in July 2015.

Great food, beer, atmosphere, and grounds. Very relaxing and no crowds.

Some TV updating would not hurt. Very relaxing, great value for location.
