Beautiful and nice place.

All suites are one bedroom/one bath with full kitchen. Great location in Kapaa on the east side, midway between the big resort areas of Poipu and Princeville. Reasonably priced, with shops, restaurants, drug store, and grocery store within easy walking distance. It’s one of the best bargains on the island.

Love it! so fun and nice.

We stayed in an owned unit. They were affordable, close to the beach, shopping, and centrally located. We'd stay here again.

Nice lodgings for budget-conscious travelers who need a safe place to sleep & shower on the Coconut Coast. Friendly staff and nice suites with full kitchens. On-site coin-operated laundry machines came in handy, as did the Plantation Hale’s proximity to the Coconut Marketplace (right across the street). The central location in Kapa’a was great for driving to spots North and South on da Garden Isle. Mahalo.

Large clean rooms and the staff was very nice. Definitely would stay there again!

No great beach (Although there is a beach across the street. Is just not that nice). The room is nice. One bedroom, and pullout couch in living room. Kitchen with everything you need. Close to drug and grocery stores.

It's close to just about everything… Shopping, dining and the beach. It's a little dated, but the grounds are immaculately clean, the young woman at the reception area is extremely nice and helpful, and the pools are wonderful. Not the most ideal place for a romantic getaway as there are kids running around pretty much everywhere. If you are visiting Kauai for the purpose of enjoying the natural wonder of the island, staying here is a great location. It's not like you're spending the day indoors anyway. You're out exploring, and need a comfortable place to sleep. Keep in mind though, if you have a downstairs unit you can hear every footstep and door slam of your neighbors upstairs. Generally though, it was great to have a full kitchen and separate bedroom/ living room. We saved a lot of money making several meals at home versus dining out. I'd recommend it.

The condo was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Check-in was smooth and the staff was very friendly. I didn't use the pools but they looked nice. This resort is off the main road so that's what you see from the balcony along with the mountains. The beach is a two minute walk through an empty lot. Beautiful to look at but very rough and rocks on the shoreline. Not safe for swimming. Lots of other beaches are a short car drive away.

Adorable! And being from Cali — it’s all about location, location, location! Staff was super friendly and so nice! They went out of their way to ensure that I stayed in the same unit as I extended my trip twice and had multiple reservations. View of the ocean, and you can get to the beach either via a short nature walk or through one of the neighboring resorts. Longs drugs one one side and ABC country market on the other and with in walking distance to Lava Lava and other great resort eateries! Decor is cute and comfy, feels like home and lived in. I have stayed at high end resorts and spent all week unable to truly relax, afraid I would break or spill something (I have hand/arm disability) and feeling like I had to be on my best behavior and dress to impress. I have stayed at quite a few time share condos over the past 5 years and never been disappointed as I belong to an amazing travel club and now only stay at condo resorts. There are 3 pools, beautiful grounds, great activities deals and best deal on car rental too! Wish list — dishwasher and washer/ dryer in unit and a shuttle service would be awesome additions! It is very affordable and an exceptional value!

One of the greatest experience I had on my trip to Hawaii. Beside being super affordable the hotel gave us unlimited beach towels to keep to fun going and sand free. I was a big fan that the kitchen came stock with dishes, pans, and mugs. This was a big plus since I enjoy cooking and rather eat and laugh in the comfort of my room instead of going downtown. I highly recommend this hotel to those who love to use a hotel for sleeping and cooking between outdoor adventures.

Great place with a great location on the island! It has some nice rooms for the price that you pay, and make sure to visit the concierge, the hotel gives you some good deals on booking things to on the island. Great experience!

June 2018 My husband and I booked a privately owned unit (C 14) for a four month stay. When we went to view the unit I notice that the furniture was old and needed to be replaced and the floors were dirty. The owner of the property said that the place would be clean and ready for to move in upon our arrival. When we got there and checked in the place look the same as it did when we went to view it the floors were disgusting the white tile floors are permanently dirty no matter how much your mop they will not come clean the bathroom is disgusting the tub has peeling around it and a sinkhole that they had covered with a bath mat. The place also have bugs. I spent as much time outside of the unit as possible. The owners really need to remodel the unit because the area it is located in is great, it’s right near the beach and walking distance to downtown Kappa.

Nice staff. Room was a bit dated and smelled a bit musky. I'd suggest a room on the second floor if you don't want to hear your upstairs neighbor walking all night. Don't forget the additional amenities fee of $16 per night. Beach is walking distance but not really a swim beach. All in all, ok for the price compared to others. This hotel is on the windward, rainy side of the island. We didn't have as much fun as we had expected. Definitely cooler and greener on this side of the island.

Affordable, clean large rooms with kitchen. It's pretty much a one bedroom apartment and even has a fold-out couch. It's also right next door to a shopping mall and a place to book all your Kauai adventures.

Good location, near ocean, clean room. There are nice places to eat and shop nearby. Beds could have been more comfortable. Overall a good place to stay. Price was also ressonable.

Really great place to stay during your visit in Kauai. Central location to North and South shores. They have three pools and two hot tubs available. We stayed in a privately owned unit, not sure if that makes the difference. Beach is a walking distance, but doesn't seem like it's safe to swim there.

Lovely facility with a wonderful location. Easy to access both ends of the island from here. There are many places to shop and eat close by too. If you don't have a car the coconut market place is only a short stroll away as is the beach. This hotel is good value for money. We liked that it was self contained and we could cater for our meals as we pleased.

Was a nice & clean room. A nice little patio with chairs to relax on. Pool & spa are very nice. Staff was nice & helpful. Blake at the excursion desk was so great! Secured my son & I tickets that day for a last minute excursion Kitchen could use some updating (VERY old stove).

The beach closest to the hotel isn't ideal for swimming but it is very close. The staff were extremely polite and friendly at all times. The hotel is within walking distance of a few big stores and restaurants. Ideal location if you plan on driving to all parts of the island. Also, the bed in the room was the most comfortable bed ever!

We were upgraded to a recently renovated suite which was nice. Little bit of traffic noise facing the garden view in the A building. Clean and very friendly front desk attendant. Would stay here again!

BIG suites, close to the beach, but unfortunately looking at what looks like a construction fence on the beach side. Daily room maintenance includes towels, coffee, shampoo and the likes. "Deeper" maintenance (sheets etc. ) done twice a week. $14 daily resort fee includes Wi-Fi (each room has its own), parking, pool/hot tub access (3 pools, 2 hot tubs), pool towel, safe key. Safe is too small for a lap top, but tablets will fit fine. Walking distance to beach (around the fence), shops (tourist on one end, Long's on the other), restaurants. A little pricey ($250/night plus taxes and fees), but it IS high season.

Plantation Hale is in the perfect location on Kauai for your vacation. We were able to explore all areas of the island and nothing was too far from our home base. It is also of the main road, but is accessed from a smaller street with speed bumps, which is quiet and safe. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and they were wonderful about our late check in. Each grouping of 3-4 buildings (A-K) has their own pool. Parking was always plentiful and none of the lots are far from any of the buildings. Laundry was also easily accessible in our building and reasonably priced. Across the street is beach access, and while we didn't swim at that beach, it was great to take a stroll or watch the sun rise and set. Conveniently located near Plantation Hale is a small grocery store, a drug store, and lots of restaurants (Kapa'a is just down the road). I would highly recommend Plantation Hale for your stay!

The room was very comfortable, with a good mountain view. We disappointed to see some company had put up a wall across the street which certainly detracted from the view of the ocean. We had a good, and relaxing stay. The maid service was excellent.

Amazing staff… helpful, indefatigable, aloha. Room was disgusting honestly. Walked in and it smelled like a retirement home. Moldy, 1960's couch. Ants in the kitchen as soon as we put food on counter. Stained rugs and damp. Bedspreads so old. This place needs a tear-down I have to say. Again, staff was awesome and helpful.

Love staying here within walking distance of the beach, resturants and shopping. The rooms are clean and well kept. They have three swimming pools too. I'll be back.

Always enjoy my visit at Plantation Hale. Front Office staff are very helpful and friendly. Accommodations are perfect for me and family. Plantation Hale is my go to place, close to shopping, dining and beach. Of course their pools are great too if you don't feel like walking to the beach and they have outdoor BBQ stations. Love love Plantation Hale.

We stayed here for 9 days over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was very affordable, modest, accommodations. Location is perfect; half day trips to the north or south side of the island were great! Here are some fantastic restaurants & shops within walking distance of this hotel. The market next door was still under construction but it will be gorgeous when completed. One morning there was a farmers market in that parking lot next door; local produce for cheap! Some units are more updated than others (we were on a group vacation & saw about 4 units), but all of them come with a fully equipped kitchen to facilitate making your own meals (even a gas grill). They even give you a grocery discount card at check in! The pool/hot tub were always clean; a bit chilly but I imagine in warmer months that is a blessing. The housekeeping was wonderful & had excellent attention to details. The bed was very comfortable & we always had hot water with good water pressure. Our room was on the mountain/road side & the only time I heard traffic was when someone had an unnecessary level of bass booming. Above all, the entire staff was extremely friendly & helpful. I’m shocked to see others write the opposite about the staff! We enjoyed every encounter we had with everyone & they went above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We will stay here again!

Plantation Hale felt like home and was the perfect place to relax after a busy day on the island! Newly updated, fully stocked kitchen, very clean, and felt like home for our 8 day stay. Front desk staff responded to requests quickly, and concierge was super helpful when we booked excursions. Great location near the beach, restaurants, and grocery. Highly recommend!

Not my favorite resort to stay at … 1). Don't like the air conditioning placement where it's split/shared between two separate rooms, not getting the full effect of what an air conditioner should do for any one room, at times part of the room felt warm, depending where you are at in the separate rooms … 2). Some dirty dishes found in cabinets with stuck-on old food … 3). All Pool areas has the dumbest rules in place, they have couple of round tables and chairs inside the area, but all/any foods or drinks are not permitted in/at the pool areas? Yet they have a trash can in each area … I'll NEVER choose this resort to stay at in my future, there are other better ones in close proximities!

Very nice suites with plenty of space, private kitchen and balcony. The equipment is a bit old, but clean and tidy.

Me and my husbands first time to Kauai and I must say the stay at the Plantation Hale made it even better. I promised myself that I would take the time out to do a review on our accommodations, because other peoples reviews do help me to make decisions on where to stay when me and my family are on our vacations. The Plantation Hale was clean, which that is very important for me when staying away from home. The decor was good, a little plain but suited our needs. The parking was free and if your particular parking area was full, you could always park in the next parking area with no problems. You do pay a resort fee, but it was only $99 for 7 days. It had a quiet and relaxing environment. All types of cooking utensils was supplied; we cook some of our meals in the room… helps to same on money. The staff was great and showed us much hospitality. It would have been nice if the washer and dryer was in the room, instead of down the hallway, but if nothing else that would be my only gripe… I will definitely recommend anyone staying here, I was pleasantly pleased!

Room was a weird mix of new and old. Like the LCD TV in the living room and the stove was an old push button, think like the inch long buttons that click in. But the room was nice, service was great, and the location is amazing.

Within a 5 minute walk to the beach, big spacious rooms. Quiet area next to a couple gift shops and grocery stores. Only annoying thing is trying to get a little privacy with the old style blinds.

People were great! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Pool had just right amount of shade and the beach was able to be seen and heard. Good value.

Very nice place to stay, but a little spendy. Yes, I have been recommending your establishment for quite sometimes, and they always come back and always enjoyed their stay. I often get thank you from my relatives and friends for the recommendation of your establishment.

We had a great stay here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My only. Complaint would be the shower. The half door is awful and the water saving shower head was so bad. I felt like I never got all the soap out my hair. Making me stay in longer and probably using more water then if the pressure was higher. Otherwise the room was perfect for our family of 5. Location is very central on The island. There was road noise but it never bothered me at all. We were in b13.

Staying here for a week for our honeymoon, the staff is all friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi works good, pools and hot tubs clean. Only two downsides are there are only two smoking areas, and the beach isn't great here. I won't hold either against them though.

Love the location! The service is awesome. Everything you need is in each condo.

It's been nice so far. A bit disappointed we didn't get a king size bed after placing it in the requests weeks before. We are here for our 25th anniversary and having to sleep in separate beds is disappointing but we're making do. View is beautiful. Ac is so appreciated. And everyone is nice.

We stayed here for about a week. The facilities are well kept the pool and hot tub area are well maintained. There are grills throughout the property which we did not use. The closest beach is a few mins walk but we were told this was not a swimming beach. The closest swimming beach is a few mins drive. There are stores within walking distance. Our unit had ac in the bedroom only which was definitely needed otherwise it would've been too hot at night.

The hostess was very nice along with all of the staff here. The room itself was decent. There was no crib in our room when we showed up even though we requested one ahead of time.

Nice and cozy condos with multiple pools and a friendly staff. Condos have all the necessities including ovens. Laundry facilities are on site, nearby convenience stores and good stores have everything you could need. They also have an activities office on site to help you book all your island activities.

We selected Plantation Hale for the many convenience it offers especially the well equipped kitchen and nearby supermarkets. As a disabled veteran a first floor accommodations was absolutely necessary. With a ten day stay and a tight budget cooking our meals has been a great savings. Personnel have been exceptional especially Reservations Ms. Ho who saved us from a predicament of staying longer than our original five days to ten days.

The hotel offer the advantage of having a kitchen, however the cleaning it's a complete different story. As a mother and a nurse, I have concerns because they only clean the floors every three days!. Can you imagine having your children around dirty floors even in the kitchen? not even mention that they have carpet under the dinner table!. Also, be aware that they have hidden charges.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Place was actually pretty clean, although the kitchen could use some new appliances. Knives were dull, blender was not worth using. My worst critic, the beds. They are hard, and not comfortable what so ever. Pillows were flat and smelly. I ended up going to the store and getting some new ones. Other than that, for the price. It was pretty good!

I like this place cause the price is reasonable and it has a full kitchen. The price that we were able to fine we really good off Travelocity for a package. Definitely would come back again.

Local friendly, guest services seem to be happy at their jobs, which make the environment happy & easy going. If you want sincerity of the local ppl, this place does a good job. Being in the cleaning business myself I tend to judge hotels for their cleanliness. They ARE in fact clean. Cleaner than most. Def recommended.

Great location, clean and well kept. Pools are clean and easily accessible. BBQ at each pool is great for outdoor cooking.

Truly awesome! We stayed for 8 weeks and the customer service, room servicing could not have been nicer, more friendly, and it was so clean. Full-sized kitchen with a nice complete bathroom, and full beds: beds were so comfy we slept in the quiet comfort at least 10 hours a night the whole time. We will be back as soon as possible. Love this place!

Friendly service, great room.

Location is wonderful and being in Kapaa makes seeing the north and the south of the island so much easier. Close to shopping, grocery stores, restaurants and a 300 walk to the beach with a nice open field between the hotel and the water. Check to see if the Monk Seals are on the beach! The people are all extremely friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. Housekeeping made sure we had the kind of coffee we wanted and did an excellent job on the room. Having a full kitchen is a huge plus. The cost of eating out on Kauai gets expensive quickly. You have 3 grocery stores within 5 minutes of the hotel and Long's drug a 4 minute walk. Our room was in the middle of Bldg E on the second floor. Very quiet and relaxing with a garden view. The beds were very comfortable and the AC was a blessing to have. **Even if you don't smoke, go out and talk to the people smoking who own condos here. They can give you a lot of info you won't get anywhere else.

FILTHY place to stay! Don't waste your money staying here. The kitchen was disgusting, the fridge had left over good particles from previous guest, the dishes were all dirty with dried on food particles and coffee stains. The bathrooms had hair in the tub/shower and all over the floor. We asked them to come and clean it, and when we returned at the end of the day, they had only brought in sets of clean sheets and left them on the end table. It smells like mold. We had a large party come with us, so we had 3 seoerate condos, with the same results in all if them. In one, the toilet kept clogging and over flowing. This happened 3 times, until we requested a new room! Our air conditioner unit went out and had to be replaced. You are right off the freeway/Hwy which is always busy and loud! The rooms advertise they accommodate or sleep 6. Well, there was two twin sized, it says full size, they were more like a twin sized bed in the bedroom and a hide a bed in the couch, which was extrmemly uncomfortable! With one small bathroom! It may accommodate six, but don't plan on six adults or even teens! Way too small! The only positive wad the staff at the front desk was very friendly. Other than that, there were no positives. There are plenty if nice places to stay on Kauai that would make your vacation a lot more worth while. One being right across the parking lot!

Stayed in a standard suite. You get what you pay for! Overall experience was "ok. " Room was clean, basic, "no frills, " with 90s tropical white teal and mauve wicker furniture. The room didn't have central air conditioning, but an A/C box in each room's window — it was loud! Had to turn it off and have the ceiling fan circulate at night. The original room they gave us was right beside the highway. When I saw one of Kauai's famous wild chickens by the front door top near the bushes, I knew we had to upgrade at all cost. One, the main road or HWY is noisy all day and traffic starts early in the morning. Two, wild chickens with a rooster lurking in the background will start making noises around 4:30 — 5 am. The windows in our room were not double pane. The first floor room we ended up staying for 5 days was right next to the public laundry room area. Luckily, we were never in the room when it was being used. This wouldn't be my first choice to stay here again if I there was room at the Kauai Coast Resort in the same Aleka Loop complex or even at the Courtyard Marriot next door.

Very, very, very disappointed. Booked the room 4 months in advance of trip. They gave us a room at the end of the last unit right next to where construction was going on from 7am until 6 pm Monday thru Saturday. Could not sit on the lanai to relax as we were continuously blown away/ overcome with diesel fumes from the construction equipment and the "beep, beep, beep" of the construction vehicles backing up. Unable to sleep in due to same as above. We asked the first day to be moved and were told "Sorry, can't do it. We're booked. " Come to find out they were only booked for that weekend we arrived and they could have moved us on Sunday or Monday. Bathroom was dirty, bathtub was warped and like standing on a surfboard on the ocean. If you weren't careful it would have been very easy to fall in the shower. Kitchen "stove" laughable. We didn't even try to cook on it as we were afraid an electrical fire would start. Would never, ever stay there again. Never. Total and complete waste of money. It was our first time on Kauai as we typically go to Maui. Back to Maui we go! Great, affordable condo's there in Kihei, right across from the beach. Don't waste your money at Plantation Hale.

A terrific place. The rates are low. Our little suite was very nice. No view or anything but at the price so what? They have pools and hot tubs and nice grounds. Big plus is a pleasant stroll to a nice practically empty beach. Friendly workers. Right in the middle of things.

Great place to stay. Was there with my family for a vacation. Friendly staff. There's a community grill that you can use so we had hamburgers and grilled pineapple a couple of the nights we were there. The rooms have a full kitchen with glassware and silverware so it made it really nice since we were able to buy some food and make it ourselves to save some money. Great experience overall.

Very dirty — DO NOT stay here. We checked in with a party of 5 adults. The first room only had one bed. I was issued a second room and it was filthy with dirt/hair on the bathroom floor and feces on the outside of the toilet. I took pictures and went back to the office and was issued a third room. This one smelled like mold and had hair shavings on the counter and hand towels so we turned back in the key and went to another hotel down the street. We requested a refund (as we did not stay there) and they refused. They wouldn't even refund the extra 'resort fee' which was not included in the contracted price.

Room A-8 = open the bureau drawers and smell the mold, saturated my clothing. Carpet pads are rotting, furniture stained, chipped and disgusting. How about the moldy coffee grinds left in the coffee maker? Hair and rotted food in butter tray, drawers and debris in fridge? THEN, most staff is in Arizona so noone can come clean or help as "its not part of the hotel". Shell Vacations is the WORST hospitality company I''ve ever dealt with. Beach access? Yeah if you trek thru a field. Stay somewhere else, tons of great places that are "clean, hospitable and TRUE beach access".
