Very clean and comfortable! our new go to spot while traveling south.

I am a disabled veteran with a service dog. The front desk tried to charge an additional fee for my medical condition. The woman at the front desk went into an emotional breakdown as I tried to explain she was discriminating me for being disabled. This lodge needs to take a hard look at who it hires and how the train people to interact with disabled and handicapped people. I'm am still working though the stress of the situation.

Friendly staff and guests. Already place to relax and have a good time.

My first time here with some regulars and it was so much fun. The food was tasty, the staff very friendly & attentive (Samantha was awesome), band was really good. I will definitely join them again when I visit from NC ♥️

It was delicious! I had the brisket tacos and my husband had the catfish sandwich. We sat out on the deck and it was so pleasant.

I have eaten at Skyline numerous times. The food is tremendous, its always served quickly and hot. The servers are cordial and very helpful. Deserts, especially this week’s’ chocolate galaxy cake are out of this world. If you missed the annual craft fair you not only missed a great opportunity to help the community but missed several great bands. Skyline is turning a new page on great food, accommodations and entertainment. Dont miss Junes’ event!

We stayed at the lodge last night and brought close to 40 people with our group of riders. The lodge staff was nice but the pub staff was so unorganized and rude. Let me break it down for you at 9:45 I walk to the hostess stand and ask “are you out of food” (because when I entered the restaurant I heard someone say they are almost out of food) the hostess said they were out of some items. I asked what was the quickest way to place my order here or at a table I was handed two menus and told to sit right here. 30 seconds later the waitress said the kitchen is closed because they were completely out of food. Now I understand that there were several events going on that day 1. Plan ahead 2. Be prepared 3. I’ll repeat this again plan ahead! The male waiter from last night was so rude and was cursing about the management and refused to even ask my husband and I if we needed a drink or anything. We had to leave to get dinner at a gas station Subway. We will never stay here again due to the rudeness provided by the staff of the pub. We wanted to enjoy dinner and drinks with our friends and you ruined that for us.

The hotel is great, the girls at the front desk make you feel at home. Do not expect anything fancy but if you are going to ski, snowboard or tubing at Winterplace this is the perfect place as it is only few minutes from the ski resort and they have a convenient restaurant on site. Also the bedrooms are clean and confortable. Will get home and recommend it to family and friends.

We made an “impromptu “ ski trip to winterplace this past weekend and stayed here Sunday night. Can not say enough positive things about our experience. Our room was lakefront and spotless. Staff could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Restaurant was awesome and bar/lounge was fun and lively. Our kind of place. We will be back for certain. Regarding Covid and safety. Skyline lodge was in compliance as far as we were concerned. I feel if other patrons had worries or complaints, well they had no business going on a ski trip! They need to stay home!

There is ZERO adherence to COVID policies here. Zero masking of staff, front desk, housekeeping, reataurant etc. Also the employee working the front desk just verbally berated us for even asking. Holy. Cow. I mean — wow. Avoid this place if you are expecting any adherence to COVID. The signs are up but they immediately change the rules once you step inside. Never been treated like that for asking a simple question. She seemed ready to pounce on anyone that questioned her policies.

We had our annual Christmas party there last night! great service and food! Tuesday is half off all drinks and food. 1/2 off bottles of wine with a great selection. I was very happy! ️

Beautiful view. Amazing food. Live music. Our room smelled wonderful. Couldn’t ask for more, we’ll definitely be coming back!

I don’t really know how to rate my experience, best food ever worst waitress ever. I had to go to the bar to order drinks and food. My server took my order and then never brought it. They seem to be short staffed with not enough seats. The band was awesome, the food was great, and that server needs a position at the front desk!

Food and Beer was awesome along with the staff. Highly recommend!

Thus is my second stay and am either happier with this experience.

AWESOME Facility, Great Friends And Staff, And The outa Town Guests Are Always Intriguing!

This place is great. Very friendly but not fancy. The rooms were a place to sleep. The beer was cold, the food was good and the fire pit was good for the soul. I felt like I was staying with kin. Definitely do it again!

Great food and atmosphere. And great people! Was there with the band and everyone went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The outdoor patio has lots of room and a fire pit! Gorgeous outside view offering free paddle boating and fishing in the Summer. Such nice and cozy rooms!

Drove thru on our way to Florida and stopped to stay here for the night. Called ahead and asked if there was vacancy and the gentleman that answered was very friendly and since it was after hours he watched out for us to open the door for us and got us all set up quickly. Clean room, very comfortable beds. In the morning the young lady behind the desk was obviously under the weather but still made full effort to be cheerful and helpful.

The lodge is great. Building is clean and we'll maintained, the food was fantastic, and the staff was amazing. I was there for a social function and they did an outstanding job coordinating and setting up for it. There was live entertainment, and the bar is a popular place on weekends. Really enjoyed my time there and look forward to returning.

We went here for dinner on our 42nd wedding anniversary. We sat out back on their deck and had a very pleasant waitress. The food and adult beverages we had were delicious.

I booked this hotel while on a hiking trip near Beckley and I was very pleasantly surprised with my room and the staff. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The room was impeccably clean, there was a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave, and the bed was very comfortable… all for only $60. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area. The only very slight negative was that they gave me a room facing the parking lot and very close to the office. A room with a lake view would have been ideal.

I didn’t know that the room I would be in wouldn’t reach their internet which was important to me. Didn’t feel that it was easy to fish at. Wasn’t really a good area that was easy to get to with my 6 year old. Cook burned our food from the pub. Overall I was disappointed. But it was a pretty area to relax if you wanted.

For the price it was great. I'm always worried about clean and it could use some updates but it was clean. There was a class reunion and we weren't sure of eating in the restaurant but drove about a mile to a subway. Would definitely stay again.

Quiet, cozy and rustic. The staff have all be extremely helpful and pleasant to be around. We travel a lot for work and spend weeks at a time in hotels, so far we have enjoyed our stay here at the Skyline Lodge. Great food and great view.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Very clean, the staff is super friendly, and the price was great. We had a lake view and it was simply gorgeous. I would stay here again whether I'm just passing through for a night or for an extended stay.

Staff is so thin that you wait for ever. Floors were sticky. Some staff were really nice whilst others were not so nice. The barstools seem nice but the seat was detached from the frame. Apparently the AC wasn't working so it was quite warm. The food is sub pat at best. Really greasy!

Nice little place. Couldn't beat the price. Just a quick stay overnight but we all enjoyed it! Loved the fire at night and the view of the water in the morning.

Beds are comfortable and the room was clean except the floor of the bathtub which was really dirty simple as bleach or a magic eraser to the bottom would have fixed this issue. Also, heads up for those with kids staying Saturday night they play live bands and keep kids up with it. The Wi-Fi they offer for free-is sub par it doesn't reach all of the rooms. The grounds are nice, the fridge and microwave are a bonus. And the front desk staff was friendly. The best thing about this place is it wasn't ran by a corporation!

So peaceful during my stay. Sure miss the paddle boats though! Next time I will remember that the restaurant is closed on Mondays, too! No other good restaurants around for MILES!

For the price you cannot beat it! Quality of food and drink section at the bar is on point and the rooms were definitely adequate. We will be back! Dear hotel staff… the toilet in room 110 is wobbly and the room is really musty.

A few minor inconveniences, but nothing to flip out about. For what it is, I think it was pretty darn good. :) Also, if you decide to eat here, the food took about an hour / hour and a half to get to us, but it was worth the wait, and what they lacked in speed they made up for in spirit. Would definitely recommend.

2 stars are for the gorgeous view of the lake and the spacious wood deck where you can sit and look at the lake. The facility is older, and my room, at least, wasn't updated. While I was OK with that, some of the inconvenience which I found the most irritating was the lack of electrical outlets. Also my room was next to the entrance to the restaurant /bar. All 3 nights I was there, I was kept awake until the wee hours of the morning. Partially my fault as I should have asked for a a second floor room. They ran out of towels the last night I was there. My bathroom wasn't cleaned the last night I was there.

Great place for a bite or a beer. Karaoke guy on Fridays is great, too. They always have some good music going and nice pool tables. Check it out!

This resort is beautifully located in a secluded mountainous terrain, with a huge a back deck extending across nearly half the distance of the building’s construct. A portion of it steps down over a sizable pond creating a pristine view. The deck is connected to a down home country bar/restaurant that greatly enhances the experience. Though I did not have the time to indulge in drinks, entertainment, or food, it absolutely created a great atmosphere I know I will one day soon, come back to partake in.

Very quite and River side hotels. While going we felt like why this was located very far, but after reaching it was located very edge of the river and also have some wild life. We have seen deers and horses roaming near to hotel and other pets like ducks and dogs are besides hotel room. This also had a bar and party always, but we couldn't go as we were really tired.

We were at a event Fun Run for ATVS then good food live band great friends.

Good food but they stop serving around 9. Non-smoking in the building but the place has a big deck.

Very beautiful area mountainous view. Rooms have door acess to the outside. Breakfast is coffe and Danish in the morning. Although the bar and food from the bar is good. Kind and courteous staff who are very helpful.

Do not stay here if you have kids! There is a bar at the hotel. There were a bunch of drunks screaming and yelling outside till 4am until I had to walk out and talk at them. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. The bathroom fan sounds like an airplane engine. The restaurant is not good either. The pay breakfast is not worth it. The food is cold and not worth $10 each for the crappy Buffett. They have one little sterno under each carafe… beds were hard and do not use the pillows in a pillow fight if you value your life! They are so hard you will put you through the wall! Only good thing is that they refunded us the 2nd night as we decided to stay elsewhere our last night.

We were driving home on 77N and a bad snow storm popped up, so we decided to get a room overnight to let it pass — so this place was 5 mins right off the highway and was perfect for what we needed. Rooms with doors to the outside, cozy lodge area with wood burning fireplace, restaurant and bar, new mini fridge & microwave in room, clean sheets & linens, table & 2 chairs in room, and just the right amount of space. Not the most aesthetically pleasing, old looking carpet not sure how clean it was, and the bathroom/tub could probably use a deep cleaning to get some set in stains out, but overall ok. A little pricey for a Tuesday night I think and for what it was.

I love this place. It's been a home away from home I stay with skyline several times a month. The room's are clean and you will not find a friendlier staff. I will not stay away where else when I stay. Not to Minton the food is awesome. The locals are sure to stop by for dinner.

The rooms are nice and clean. The food is good only when a certain cook is there otherwise it's terrible. Great bar atmosphere and a nice outside deck with a fire pit.

We've stayed here twice for bridge day and it's really an excellent place to visit. I noticed two recent one star reviewers also rated motel 6 as a 5 star in the same week. Seems fishy. Stay here. The staff are great. The food is good and they have craft beer in the bar. The deck with the lake view is also a great place to relax. Cheers!

We came in for a Weekend event. Our Room was overlooking the pond & very clean. We came in on Thursday evening and they had trivia in the dining room. We choose to sit out sit and enjoy the view. The food was good, especially the onion rings. The french dip was also my favorite. The staff was awesome, they laughed and joked with us making us feel welcome. They had a fire in the fire pit, with chairs to sit around and relax. They had karaoke and music… which was interesting. Love listening to others sing (most sang well). This is an awesome place to stay. Highly recommend this place. Thank you Skyline.

This place was amazing! The staff were very accommodating, friendly, and personable. The lodge sits beside a lake and was so nice to be able to relax with great views! I would highly recommend staying here. The food is great and awesome prices at both the restaurant and bar.

I was beyond exhausted while making a thunder run, and happened to find this place after calling several hotels that were totally booked. I was highly impressed with the friendliness and courtesy of the staff on duty. Then the room was clean and quaint, very comfortable. I didn't get a chance to eat from the restaurant, but the bar had good drink prices and the atmosphere was very comfortable; casual and fun! I will definitely be staying here again.

This place is GREAT! Clean rooms, Great personnel, free paddle boating, great food, wonderful view off of the balcony, and outside doors to your room. Loved it!

This place is a gem. What a wonderful place to stay. Has a restaurant and bar so you dont have to go anywhere. The restaurant is closed Mondays. The lake in back is awesome you can even take out the paddle boat. So relaxing, enjoyed the staff and bartender. Will highly recommend to other travelers.

What a wasted night! Arrived at Skyline at 7:50 to watch the live band Beneath Redemption there was an auction going on for a charity (Lillian Faith). A great cause and had no problem listening to what I thought was the end of it. However it last until 9:30. The band was scheduled play from 8pm to 11pm. The band was setup and the auctioneer (using this term loosely) was using the bands p. A system! The bad did not get to perform a normal sound check like any live performer would do. Their 1st song served as their sound check and while a little loud no where near earsplitting. They play 5 songs total and where asked to stop playing because the hotel quests were complaining. This was at 10pm. They did not even get to finish a set! I have seen many live bands and they were not loud. I am not sure what the booking agent thought a hard rock band named Beneath Redemption was going to play but I guarantee it was not going to be a lullaby! As for the hotel guests I really wonder what they supposed was going to happen on a Saturday night at a bar with a patio out back below where they chose to stay! Mind you this patio has a pavilion like area for live entertainment! And to top off the night I had ordered a burger and fries which took me an hour to get. The burger was dry and tastless and did not have much ketchup, on it. Had I known they were going to cut the band's set short (it was already an hour and a half short be for they began) I would not have even ordered it!

Very nice place to stay. We were traveling to NC and were stopping for the night and the Beckley exit hotels were all booked or disgusting. We called this place as a last resort at 11pm and they took us in and boy were we impressed! Very friendly, clean, and awesome price. Would love to go back one day to enjoyed all of the fun activities they offered.

This is a conveniently located hotel. Nice clean rooms, excellent staff, and comfy beds. There are paddle boats and fishing in the water out back. We will definitely stay here again! Reasonable prices too!

Great Atmosphere! Amazingly beautiful setting by the lake. The deck is beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable. A/C was not on when we got in the room, but it cooled down comfortably by night fall. The restaurant has a good atmosphere, big screen tv's and great service. Our server was very attentive and nice. Bar was great too. Two pool tables there as well. The night we were there, they had live music and drink specials, so there was a nice crowd but it wasn't overly packed. Room were well priced for lake view. I would definitely stay again. Its not far from Beckley, easy drive down Route 19. I would highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway or quick stop.

The Skyline Lodge is priced right and right beside Winterplace Mtn. The room was clean except for the beer bottles under the night stand. The beds are quite lumpy and on wheels, which was weird. Friday night is karaoke night, if your room is within 5-8 rooms of the bar you might as well join then because you won't be sleeping. There are no carts to carry stuff to your room and no parking on the back side of the building. The staff was nice and friendly. It was kind of neat to stay at a place where they still use actual keys for the rooms. Housekeeping left a stack of towels but did not make our beds. Which consisted of a sheet and a VERY thin bed spread. It offered little to no warmth.

We were caught in the horrific snow storm Pandora. The staff not only helped us dig out our car but welcomed us in even though they were booked. They treated us like family from the first moment to the last. I and my friends and family will make Skyline Resort a permanent vacation spot. I have NEVER been treat with such care and compassion. Thank you Phil, Amanda, Tyler, Jimmy, and the other guy who help dig us out (Mikey? ) Mason, Heather and Jenny. You all are beautiful people and I am a better woman for having met you☆see you soon.

Excellent location and amenities. That's my take on the Skyline Resort in Ghent WV. Great staff too. Kristen, Shalice and Jodi have always treated Debbie and I exceptionally well. Based on my experience with these folk, I recommend Skyline Resort.
