Perfect place for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors!

Beautiful view of the river.

The in town location of this hotel is convenient and walkable to local restaurants and shops. The balcony, view, and sounds of the river are a plus, as well as the cleanliness of the room. This was our end of summer trip, and we we enjoyed the last warm day of the season. We were able to easily find hiking trails from the hotel and enjoyed paddleboarding at Pearrygin Lake State Park. Winthrop is a place with activities for all.

Loved that every room looks out on the river. You can easily walk to everything in town. The couple who own the hotel are really welcoming. Love the room decor. Hope to come back in the fall to see all the colored trees from our balcony!

We were hoping to like it. But would not recommend it. The bathroom smells rancid. We had to turn the fan on for five minutes before being able to use it. Was told by the front desk person that is the normal. We did not have parking one night and we were told to either park in spots where the car would be half on the road or block people in. Then told we could move the car to an open spot in the morning. I have a small child and it is not safe to try and take out, or put in, a small child from the car while the car is on the road. Very disappointing. The rest of the town has been a cool experience.

That deck view was so peaceful! Clean, comfortable, friendly, and within walking distance to everything in town. We will return again!

I loved having the private balcony facing the river. It was so relaxing. The bonus was watching the eagles in the early evening.

I called cancelled a reservation on 8/5 and they still charged my card with me not checking in. Some line that I needed to cancel it with Expedia who I booked with. I have always changed my reservation with the hotel. Then asks me what time I called in so they could look into it. No response back even after another email. I will Never recommend this establishment. Poor customer service.

I will definitely go back to this hotel because they have riverside lawn chairs, a decent hot tub, and I saw an eagle and a deer family from my little balcony. The rooms are not fancy, but they have the basics. There’s a convenience store a block away if you forget toiletries.

This is a great place to stay. Sat on our deck, listening to the river, watchimg people float down the river, nice sunset, great moonrise. Bed was very comfortable and the room was very nice. Plenty of nearby walkable aces for breakfast, lunch, dinner and shops to check out.

This was our 3rd stay and we had a great time as usual! It's awesome to leave the slider open at night. We can hear the river; really makes for a great night's sleep! My only criticism is that I shouldn't have to pay extra for "streaming internet". I already paid a premium to stay here.

We stayed in a queen room with a river view. It had a small deck with a couple of chairs, table with 2 chairs inside, a single sink and a small refrigerator. The room was clean and pleasant. The hotel has a small group of chairs behind it along the bank of the river. The location was nice, within walking distance from the shops, restaurants and bars. We had a really pleasant stay and will definitely book here again.

Loved this place. It's centrally located right in town so everything is walkable. It is clean and comfortable. I slept really well. I loved that it is right on the river with a balcony for my room. Friendly desk staff… I didn't try the hot tub or check if there were any other amenities. But it was exactly what I needed. I am not saying it is a 5 star hotel… but that they did a great job with what they have! :)

I really enjoyed staying at this cozy hotel in a great location. I love the view of the river from the balcony and it is centrally located right in town so you can walk around and explore all the fun shops. The rooms are well maintained and clean and the staff were helpful and friendly! I forgot my laptop plugin and I was able to borrow one from the owner. That was a life saver so I could do some business I had to get done while visiting.

My family recently stayed at Hotel Rio Vista and we couldn't get over the river view! Plus, it's right at the edge of the main drag in Winthrop, so it was an ideal spot. Friendly staff and clean accommodations.

All the rooms have a view over the water, the parking is convenient to the rooms. The bike storage area is tiny, can only fit about 2 bikes which is meant to service the entire hotel and you have to carry your bike downstairs. Rooms were clean and spacious, there is kitchen amenities in the room.

Top notch. Amazing service and a great location that overlooks the river. Rooms were clean and the AC unit ACTUALLY kept it nice and crisp. The gentleman at the the front desk was awesome, fast efficient and knowledgable. Cant wait to come back.

Located right off the main strip in the quaint frontier town of Winthrop, this Hotel offers awesome riverfront views, friendly staff, hot tub, and a great centralized location at a reasonable rate.

Great place to stay, comfortable bed, amazing views, right in town. We saw many deer on the river in the morning. Wanted to try the hot tub but was always busy in the evening. Good amenities but surprised there was no hair conditioner or hand lotion in the room.

Comfy beds, neat and clean, wonderful view and wildlife to boot if you're up early enough.

Words cannot even begin to describe how wonderful my experience was here! The view from my balcony overlooking the river was beautiful! My room was always cleaned. But honestly what makes this place phenomenal is the owner Paul and his family and staff! They helped this hiker in need well beyond anything I could ever have expected! If you ever happen to be in the little town of Winthrop and would also like your faith in humanity restored… stay here! Thank you Paul and your family and your staff for being so absolutely wonderful to me!

We just had a two night stay at Hotel Rio Vista. Good location, close to restaurants and shops. Beautiful spot overlooking the river. Our only complaints were the carpet on our floor was stained and the room smelled like beer. We also the please tend to room sign on the door and no one tended to cleaning our room. If we needed towels or anything we would have to ask for it. Staff was friendly. Nice spot, peaceful and relaxing to listen to the river. Would maybe stay again. Bedding was clean but the room didn't smell great. Could be cleaner.

Big Screen tv Free Wi-Fi They have a Jacuzzi, but it is small Microwave and refrigerator Cons: No breakfast Parking is a bit cramped in some places No accessible outlets by the beds in the Riverside Double Queen room.

I saw a doe giving birth to a baby deer across my room, which was magical. Great location, great service and great view.

Perfect hotel for us. Beautiful views, steps to shops and restaurants and a few minute drive to cross country ski and fat bike trails. We listened to the river, went to sleep after looking at the stars and woke up to pink and purple skies. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The desk staff knows the area, also. We will definitely come back here.

Wonderful weekend getaway and place to stay if you're doing the Cascade Loop! The room was VERY clean and cozy. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the river. All the restaurants and bars are a short walk.

Great location, right in the heart of downtown Winthrop! Stunning river view decks in every room, privacy, cozy and comfortable beds with all the amenities you need for a getaway and the hotel hot tub overlooks the river! You can't beat the location. Walking distance to all the best restaurants and bars the town has to offer, very helpful front desk staff and such hospitable owners.

The Hotel Rio Vista blends well with the old western surroundings of Winthrop with beautiful wood siding, trim, balconies, and furnishings; hand-painted signs; and wrought iron fixtures. However, this doesn't mean you're roughin' it — far from it. Very clean and comfortable rooms with new HD TV's, satellite, Wi-Fi internet, fridge, etc. The view and setting are incredible: right next to the convergence of a couple of rivers; in downtown Winthrop with all of it's quaint shops and restaurants; within close walking distance to little hikes in nature where we saw a variety of wildlife, etc. Hotel staff were accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely stay there again.

Awesome boutique hotel with great views of the river, right in the heart of downtown Winthrop. The rooms are clean, and had free Wi-Fi which is always a bonus! Thanks for the great friendly service! We will definitely be back.
