Smokey rooms-disgusting and TERRIBLE customer service!

Continental breakfast is coffee, juice, and plastic wrapped sticky buns. Tiny little place, should not be called a convention center. Not at all what I expected. Will not stay here again.

The worst hotel I have ever been. The staffs were very unwelcoming. The room had very bad odor. The breakfast was nothing but some cheap packaged cake. I intended to stay for 3 nights. I ended staying only 2 nights. Stay Away from them.

I was there for leisure. The pictures are deceptive, its quite a bit uglier (the outside) than what it seems like. The inside is as expected, and is nicer than the outside. It's only a 10 minute or 20 minute walk to most locations like llyod center.

This is a Motel, not an Inn. It is the old style with outdoor room doors, and a 2nd floor with not elevator. They have tried to update it, I've definitely seen worse, but there are a few things I wish I had known before I booked. While the carpets, drapes, walls are on better condition than I expected, the mattresses desperately need to be replaced. You can feel the springs while sitting on then, however it wasn't so bad when sleeping. The other standout was breakfast. I usually search for hotels that only list themselves with free Wi-Fi, free parking and free breakfast. This place claims all 3, but their breakfast, IMHO, should not be allowed to be listed on sites as a free breakfast. They offer free coffee, drop OJ and a basket of prepackaged Danishes. While I appreciate any free food in the morning, I specifically want free breakfast to save the hassle and extra expense of finding food in the morning, which I still had to do while staying here. The location is a little loud, but right next to a Streetcar stop for both the A and B Loops, which was very convenient if you plan on spending most of your time in the downtown area using the light rail and streetcars.

Safe. Secure. Clean. Lightrail is across the street, so very convenient. Also just across the bridge from downtown Portland but $100 LESS. Not fancy, but we slept well. Decent place.

Absolutely rudest owners I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. Room key stops working, wouldn't give me a key cause I didn't book the room. Wouldn't give me a towel for my girlfriend. She has to get dressed to get both. She asks for an extra pillow and gets beraided, told she can't have any extra people in the room. She was not given an extra pillow.

If you need an inexpensive place to stay in Portland that's close to downtown, this ticks the boxes. It's a motel, and while it might look a little rough on the outside, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly, and we didn't experience any noise issues from the road or other rooms.

Location to the Arena can't be beat. Right across the street. Room is old and some outlets don't work. Definitely 2 star motel. Feels like a 1978 hotel that has not been updated.

Very good value. The furnishings were fresh and clean. Highly recommend this property.

Good hotel for the price. Bring your own pillow, they are a little flat. Had smoking rooms, had no problem with a later check in. Lovely ma and pop hotel.

Not so good hotel in not so good neighborhood. Not terrible, but for what we paid I feel it should of been a way better location. Took my service animal for a walk around the block and I counted 5 syringes on the ground. They could of been for insulin, but I doubt it. Thats just the neighborhood. It was really costly for what we got. Showed up at midnight and was out by 7 am. Nice shower and bathroom. The bed was comfortable and it was close enough to a pizza place for delivery.

The most amazing place I've ever done laundry before. To say I would recommend this place is an understatement. They have very nice Electrolux machines, an AMAZING barista and video games. Bruhhh bring your laundry and come to spin and learn the art of chill ☕

Rooms were large, beds were comfy, and amenities all were as advertised. For the price, definitely a good deal. No problems with cleanliness that we observed.

Best sleep ever at a hotel. Comfy bed, TV has lots of channels to lazy your day away. Location for Blazers fans is sick.

The hotel was exactly how I expected. It wasn’t fancy but it was clean with Wi-Fi, a comfortable bed, and close to downtown. One thing that bothered me was that I was charged a $50 deposit after already paying for the room. The room itself was only $90? Seems a little steep. I was told it would drop off upon check out and it’s still lingering, days later. Luckily I am not short on money, but this could be detrimental for lower income individuals who are more likely to stay in a less expensive hotel like this. I tried to call and it seemed as though someone picked up and immediately high up. Probably will not return.

Clean and comfortable enough. Amenities are limited and the pillows were paper thin. Awesome location if you are in town for an event at the arenas becauae it is easy to walk.

I thought this was a okay hotel for the price but it's more outdated and I sensed it wasn't an altogether safe area. The bathroom tube didn't have a drain stopper, but the room did the job for the night for my business trip. I would look elsewhere in the future but the staff was nice though the night time attendant did seem pretty tired. I've just stayed in better for the price, but again, if you need a place for the night on a budget and you are not looking for anything fancy, this will get you there. Just make sure you feel safe and park closer to the front doors if you don't know the area like I didn't. I was a bit worried about car break-ins, but for the most part, people seemed fine.

So I came into the hotel not expecting much at all after reading all the reviews online. I am glad to say that as of October 2017 the hotel is adiquet for what you are paying. They had cable, water pressure, it was clean, and the front desk clerk that has a heavy accent was berry helpfully. When I booked my room I did not know that I needed to look for listings that start with "N" for non smoking. And this guy went out of his way to help me get a non smoking room. I did go from a king bed to a queen, but that is a small prise to pay.

This place is okay but the shower grout was all covered in mildew. The carpets had burns and stains. The shower head was a joke. The cleaning staff obviously didn't take their time vacuuming. The room has no microwave and no refrigerator although it had a cabinet to contain both. If I hadn't gotten a special deal and had paid regular price for the hotel I would have been quite upset.

This place actually rates NO stars. Stay at your own risk. My son and I stayed for three nights over the labor day weekend. I should have bailed out when I pulled down the covers on my bed and a large dark spider ran off the bed. It was late and we were tired so, after checking for more critters we turned off the lights. The room was spacious but the place was run down. The inside of the bathroom door was filthy with dark hand prints all over it. The towels were nice so I got over the bug incident. We stayed for three nights. When we got back to the room on the last night of our stay, No One had been in to clean the room. The beds were still unmade and all of the towels were damp and on the floor. It was late again but I canned down to the office where the night clerk cannot speak English to complain. He wasn't surprised. I figured out this is their standard MO with guests. They shave costs by not cleaning rooms on final night stays. What a disaster. I will never stat at a Roadway Inn again!

Not a good experience. First off, we were put into a smoking room even though it said nothing about it being a smoking room on Tripadvisor (where we booked the room). The manager had a smug "got you" attitude when he assured us it was posted online and that there was nothing he could do to help us. He said all the rooms were full, even though there were clearly only a few cars in the parking lot. The room is your typical discount, no-frills room you might expect from a motel 6 or a best western, but didn't appear to be very clean. It definitely smelled like old cigarette smoke. The topsheet on the bed had mysterious brown spots on it, so we immediately threw that down on the floor. The bathroom was definitely a low point too. After flushing the toilet, it fills up VERY noisily for several minutes which was definitely a problem in the night. In the shower, they put this dirty looking rubber mat down, I suppose to keep people from slipping and falling. I didn't want my bare feet touching it. All in all, I can't recommend this hotel.

A little run down, but a good location for the price. Easy access to rail & bus.

Bathroom was loud af, owners seemed stingy with towels, over all clean and economy place to stay though.

Disappointed. You are better off closing something a little further from downtown as portland's public transportations are excellent.

Can't say for certain, but pretty positive I contracted bed bugs from this place. Service was awful. Go FAR away.

Ugly looking motel from the outside, but the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is great. The rooms are a little dark and since it's right at the street it can vibe a little noisy.

Much nicer on the inside than I feared upon pulling up. Clean and no homeless people in the immediate vicinty. The service was sufficent for the price.

Weve stayed here twice. Its reasonable, clean and close to everything. Especially walking to the Moda Center.

Wow. NEVER have I had such rude service, especially at a place with so many problems. You'd think you were staying at the Ritz the way the woman at the front desk talked, too bad you were rushed back yo reality upon entering the room. The smell out of the heater is only equivalent to that of a rotting mouse, or cow manure on a hot southern day, I couldn't decide. While the bed was sort of comfortable, the smell still overwhelmed the room. I decided to just take a qyick bath, go to bed and get out asap. Unfortunately, the shower head offered less than desirable water pressure. When the water turned on to heat up (that's how we roll in the south) it swooshed so hard, I was surprised that the middle of the tub was still there. The temperature was either Satan's butt or Elsa's finger tips. (That's a disney reference) I risked it and jumped into Satan's butt. After feeling like my skin had been pressure washed off with the depths of Hell, I found that my clothes had fallen off of the toilet. I reached down and grabbed them with one handful. I should have paid attention to what I was grabbing. Little did I know that I could have contracted HIV or Hep A, B, or C. In my shirt, which was on the bottom, I found a very used syringe. Upon further inquiry, I also found a spoon. I'm sure that some person, somewhere is missing this set-up. I just threw it back behind the toilet. I tip toed to my bed, climbed in, searched for the remote.

My family stayed in October. Reasonable price, clean room, friendly service and close to the train station. The streetcar also stops right out front.

The outside looks scary, especially at night. However the building is lit well. Very limited food delivery options in this hotel. Don't be fooled by the "convention center" in the name. It's about a mile from it. 5 minute car drive and about a 15 minute walk. Staff were decent and very prompt. Hotel room was nice and updated except for the TV. However if the TV is the only complaint then you have a good room. Decent channel selection. I probably would stay here because I fly in and don't want to uber to the convention center daily and food options were limited but if I ever drove in I would definitely stay here. Simple room for a good price.

Our stay at the hotel wasn't as bad as some of the previous reviews (we didn't check Google reviews at the time of reservation; only a few days prior to our trip). The neighbourhood the weekend we went was clean and quiet. Didn't see any undesirable-type people roaming around. It faces a somewhat busy street but traffic just flows, no one stops to pay the place any mind. The room and bathroom were very clean, and we're picky. The worse was a bit of a rust stain running down from tub's overflow, but nothing gross. The furniture was a bit dated but we didn't care about that. The bedsheets were thin, but it was +30*C that weekend so didn't matter. Wifi was terrible! But asked the staff who seemed to like us and they reset their router and things finally worked decently; though the closer to the window you are the better. Staff was nice to us the whole time and didn't charge us any deposit. The 2 biggest improvements that can be done is that the room could've also used a microwave and updated TV's. Can't reheat anything if you don't make breakfast and can't hookup any device (s) to the outdated CRT TV to watch what you want instead. The curtains could also use a privacy liner too, you're options are either completely open or completely closed, but no option to just let a little bit of light in if you want. The curtains themselves could also stand to be the light-blocking kind.

Old, rundown, dirty and very poor Service. Breakfast is a disaster! The location is the only positive. One Night is a Horror in the Hotel.
