This was my second stay. The grounds are beautiful — an oasis in the city. Spacious, clean room with comfortable bed. Amazing, healthy breakfast options with great views of the pond and the resident ducks. Extremely friendly staff. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again!

I would like to start by saying I paid for my room and it was not a free work stay as part of a conference. We were in Seattle (our first time) for a Seahawks game. We paid over $250.00 for a double full room in building B. Pros. The gentleman at the check-in desk was extremely kind. The breakfast was great better than most. And the staff at breakfast very kind lady. The grounds are full of fun little squirrels amazing trees it looks like in it’s prime this place was beautiful. You can walk to restaurants that is nice with how bad parking is in Seattle. Cons.
Our room was odd. When you lay in bed and look at the door to your room you can see light coming through and there’s a mail slot in the door that somebody could see right in the entire room if they lifted it. Part of one of the cabinets was overhanging into the bathroom door way by at least 3”. There was no headboard for the beds that were along the windows and you can’t lean a Against anything while watching TV in the evening. Also my son kept hitting the metal blinds in the middle of the night and waking everyone. The beds were very old and stiff. There was odd patch work with miss matching paint. The grounds were nice with big old trees but the double pond was half drained and super green and gross. The map says they have a game room however there were no games and the desk staff didn’t have a key. We had nothing for our 12yr old to do.

The staff here was friendly and even allowed me to check in a little early which really helped. The area is quiet and close to UW and the children's hospital. There are many places to eat near by that can be reached in minutes with a rental bike which are everywhere. There is an amazing bike trail 5 minutes away to the north that I highly recommend finding and taking a ride on. Now the bad. The pond is a horrible green mud swamp with discarded cinder blocks sitting in the muck. High levels of algae give off dangerous fumes, it was a concern. The grounds are poorly kept. The room was not terrible but it could easily be better. It badly needs an update. The carpet is old dirty and stained. The bed did not have fitted sheets, they were mostly clean, but I did find the random short dark hair here and there. The worst part was the smell. It was a very strong citronella smell (I assume to repel bugs). It seemed to be sprayed on the bed headboard and I had trouble sleeping because of it. I would stay here again, but only because I'm poor and can't afford better. With new carpet, better upkeep, real pest control, and fitted (clean? ) sheets this place would be an absolute gem.

I was staying at the Talaris in order to be close to Seattle Children's Hospital, where my little sister was having a brain tumor removed, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my visit. They even provided us with little food boxes so that we could load up on the complimentary breakfast foods to take with us. Every interaction was pleasant and helpful and the grounds are beautiful, not to mention plenty of parking. Highly recommend.

Was really excited about this place. The grounds are beautiful and it's in a good location. Front desk gentleman was nice, but that's all the good I have to say. The rooms were a real let down, definitely not at all as nice as I thought from the pictures and other reviews. The toilet hardly flushed and the sheets felt very starchy or something? The shower was very old and even had a pull cord, leading us to believe this could have at one point been a nursing home or something. The thermostat allowed you to adjust it but did not actually effect the temperature of the room which was miserable in this heat. The whole place had an old musty smell. Overall not a great experience.

Very peaceful, lovely place. Bungalow type room kind of smelled musty. Floors need replaced. 70s style wood decor needs deep cleaning. Needs a dead bolt on the door. Excellent, excellent breakfast. Comfy beds. Right next to children's hospital.

This was a beautiful location for a wedding reception. The staff were wonderful and friendly.

Beautiful location. The food was excellent. We had a little trouble with the layout for the room for one of the presentations but otherwise things were good.

I am completely shocked to read good reviews about this place. It is incredibly old and completely not updated, I'm guessing since the day it was built (I can't even begin to describe how awful the room was here). The bed feels like it must be the original from the '60s and the shower head is like a spigot on a water hose. The grounds are nice enough but the "footpaths" are limited and just go in circles or dead ends — I guess you could walk along the drive way with no sidewalk if you wanted. Housekeeping barely even remade the bed and didn't even attempt to tuck the bottom sheet under — just a loose piece of sheet under you and lopsided, loose sheets over you. I would avoid at all costs — I was taken aback and tried to spend as much time away from the hotel after I made the mistake of booking here.

We stayed here a few days ago. What a hidden gem inside the city. This is truly a place to stay and relax. Not being a fan of huge high-rise hotels, this was perfect! Boutique in size, spacious grounds to walk and relax and the breakfast was very much above average. The parking is a unspoken big plus in my book. No extra fee and you can park very close which makes it great when traveling with suitcases, etc.

Had dinner there, food was pretty good, not sure it was worth the $40 I paid to attend the banquet. Service was pretty good except the bathroom was out of paper towels and the waitress forgot to fill up my water cup.

We held a two-day meeting there earlier this week. Many of our meeting attendees stayed in the hotel, and they were pleased. The meeting went well — the room was spacious and suited our needs perfectly, the food was amazing and healthy at the same time, and the staff were friendly and attentive and always seemed to appear out of nowhere when they were needed. Thank you so much! The icing on the cake was seeing the eagles each day.

This hotel puts effort in the places where it matters the most: great fresh breakfast with lots of healthy low carb options, really comfortable beds and chairs. The centre in on an amazing 18 acre heritage park site right in the University District and close to the Children's hospital.

Location is very quiet which is a good thing. The rooms are ok for the price. Nothing fancy or anything that stands out in particular. The staff there are amazing and very nice people. They were accommodating and polite people. All in all a good stay.

This is a hidden gem in the rapidly changing Seattle world. Hotel, conference center, an unusual combination in a residential neighborhood. The buildings have been in better condition but proximity outweighs that in my opinion. Beautiful grounds.

The place seemed to be next to a lot of greenery. Definitely seemed conservative, which is fine for most social/group events. Loved the setting of the conference rooms. Very easy to track through the area, and plenty of space for extracurricular activities!

Lovely setting and the building exteriors are beautiful. Interior of lodging rooms are dated with worn carpeting and furnishings. Clean but modest inside the rooms. Beautiful outside.

This place is okay for a conference. Needs a heavy remodel in many of their lodging areas. The food is just okay, the restaurants in the surrounding areas have better hot food. They do have good salad here. Looks nice outside with the fountains and all, but the place just feels average. The staff at the dining area is nice.

The night manager is fantastic here, very impressed by him! Other than that, rooms are a bit smaller than expected and louder (infrastructure noise) and the shower temperature is a bit hard to control but those are minor issues. The food was also great.

Interesting retro modern architecture, university dormitory meets retreat center vibe if designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Relaxing manicured grounds with resident bald eagles (cool). Very charming night desk guy! Great customer service and dining recommends. Comprehensive continental breakfast with great views (Don't forget your voucher).

Fabulous, hidden gem! This is a very special place and one that should be protected and preserved. Super quiet room, peaceful surroundings, yummy breakfast, caring staff. What's not to love?

It was beautiful! The conference room was nice. The food was good, but I wasn't sure if one item was peanut butter or something else, a label on major allergens is helpful.

A big thanks to the Talaris to its charming staff specially Mario Bob Jordan and all the staff at breakfast, at reception and inside the hotel. Who by their extreme kindness have supported us very much in our ordeal. They helped us a lot during our daughter s stay at the hospital. Thanks very much to them. And it is a superb setting very near to the hospital. Go there you will be very welcomed. The grateful French.

The staff is fantastic (Bob and Jordan were both incredible), and the setting is amazing. These two things alone were worth 3 stars. The rooms just need to be updated. The air didn't work, the TV didn't work, and the bathroom had neither a lock nor a fan. We would stay again if things were updated or the price was lower.

The location is very nice. I haven't dealt with the staff at all. The room was very clean but they are all weirdly connected to each other so you walk in and then 2 doors are for the other rooms so I guess the whole thing could be ajoining. It's dated and musky smelling and the AC doesn't work well at all. It is very quiet in this area and the rooms seem kinda thin walled, but we have only been in the room to sleep. Can't seem to get the cable to work either after many, many attempts.

Met in one of the larger rooms for a social event. The grounds are nice and the location is great with easy access to UW and children's hospital. Only downside is the parking lot isn't secured so you need to take all your valuables out of your vehicle.

Beautiful architecture, great meeting and breakout spaces in what feels like a rural retreat setting in the heart of Seattle. I've attended several conferences here and the food and service is always high quality.

4 stars for the ambience and 18 Acres of greenery, although all this has already been put on sale : — (the rooms are from 1980s and feel their age. There are some decent eateries and a nice groceries market within walking distance. This is a calm and green sanctuary in the middle of Seattle's concrete jungle.

The conference I attended at Talaris went smoothly. The location is beautiful. The staff was friendly and attended to needs quickly. The food was all very good. I would be happy to attend a conference here in the future.

What a disappointment for a business that touts their "wildlife landscape" and such to murder an innocent family of coyotes. Was there really no other way to rid your property of them? Perhaps trapping them in humane traps and returning them to the wild somewhere else would have been better! Why did they have to die? It's disgusting that they were murdered simply for doing what all of us want to do: LIVE. You should honestly be ashamed of yourselves for doing such a huge disservice to the wildlife on your property that you have no problem bragging about on your webpage.

It was nice and functional, but a little rundown. The pond there is nasty. Coffee and other refreshments were good.

The Talaris conference center was absolutely gorgeous and serene. I received complementary breakfast and the staff was nothing but wonderful. They definitely made my stay in Seattle much more enjoyable. I would definitely stay at Talaris if I'm ever in the area again.

Nice environment and staff. Close to UW but far from downtown.

Pleasant atmosphere, but far from downtown Seattle. Lyft drivers had trouble finding it. Rooms were clean, but a little old. Also, the Wi-Fi was on an unsecured network.

Beautiful and quiet grounds, with ample parking and easy access to most services by walking. Near university. Friendly and helpful staff, nice complimentary breakfast. Rooms are cl pleasant and quiet, not fancy and new but clean and amenitable. Bob, the night desk guy is awesome. D'Vonne the day guy was great too. Mario in the dining room was super friendly and informative. Older property with historic structures. But don't let that deter you. The grounds and convience are awesome and I found the unkeep of the property was not overlooked. Some reported funny smells, peeling paint but I didn't see any of that. The room did feel cold but it was 69 degrees in the room so I chalked it up to not being used to a humid area.

Rooms and facilities were clean but dated. It was hard to contol the temperature in the rooms. The beds were very comfortable. The showere was very weak and the water temperature was cold to warm; did not get hot at all.

Beautiful location, great service. My room was a little cold, but a great experience.

Such a beautiful hotel tucked away from the busyness if downtown Seattle.

Old funky rooms, smells of old rotting wood, very musty. Bad TV reception, more than half the channels weren't included in the subscription or were fuzzy. What your paying for is the Breakfast arrangement, which a chef comes in and cooks actual food, not microwaveable Eggs and bacon. The grounds are beautiful! Unfortunately, I'm not sleeping next to the pond of ducks or with the Eagles in their nest. Was very disappointed after all the beauty of the grounds to then walk into a room that was very run down! Someone needs to prioritize the essential list! Only reason they get business is due to the fact they are the only hotel next to children's hospital! Very overpriced.

The staff is great! They are very friendly and customer focused. The grounds and location are beautiful! The breakfast is not your typical free hotel breakfast. They had fresh smoothies, eggs, kale and kid friendly choices. The rooms could use some updates. I would rate it even higher if they updated the rooms with a lighter, brighter paint palette, higher end fixtures (shower heads), new tile, carpeting and solid surface countertops. If you need to stay somewhere in the University District, it's worth considering.

I am currently staying in the Cascade Suites. If you are visiting Seattle or the beautiful University of Washington campus, Talaris Conference Center is by far the most peaceful and rewarding place to stay. Talaris is located on acres and acres of gorgeous land with a large pond surrounded by weeping willows and oaks at the center. The rooms, though simple and modest, are immaculately clean, comfortable, and as quiet as the remotest Buddhist monastery in the Taebaek Mountains of South Korea. You will not be able to hear one car or other guests. The beds, with thick down comforters and both fluffy and firm pillows, are wonderful. Two large desks provide ample space to spread out paper work if you are visiting for business. The showers are modern and the temperature can be adjusted to steaming hot. Top of the line bicycles are free to check out for the whole day and explore the area with. Perhaps the greatest aspect of staying at the Talaris is the outstanding customer service. Bob Stricker, the night concierge, is the best at what he does and will ensure that you have an excellent stay.

Old worn out room. High prices. Cold showers. Terrible beds. If it wasn't next door to the Seattle Children's Hospital it would be completely worthless. As it is, it was just mostly worthless. I would recommend staying anywhere else if you can.
