We went to Seattle for a nice get-a-way, but our trip has ended in the worst nightmare. After having a day and night exploring the city, my girlfriend went back to the hotel and I followed behind shortly after. When I got back to the hotel, my girlfriend had locked the door (as she was alone, in a new city in which she didn't know anyone), but had fallen asleep before I had got back. After speaking with Jim, the manager on duty, he immediately escalated this by telling me to sleep in a separate room for the night (in which I had to pay for) or I would get evicted, with threats saying he would call the police. The call was made by Jim to the police as I refused to sleep in another room, while he was on the phone to them he told the police that this was a domestic abuse case (no such comments regarding abuse or anything close were made) and I was to be taken off the premises. After an hour or so my girlfriend came to find me in the lobby and spoke straight away to Jim and explained it was an accident — Jim was not bothered at this point and told her that the police would still be on their way; we would be escorted off the premises and advised us to pack our bags. When the police showed up, after talking to ourselves, they could see that this situation was a complete misunderstanding and tried to talk to Jim in letting us stay — Jim clearly was stuck in the situation and would not back down, meaning we were put out on the street at around 4:30am. The police responded to us: "We normally never laugh at domestic abuse cases, but this is ridiculous". The police offered us to drive around to find a new place and could not believe that this had happened to us. After contacting Wyndham Hotel Group we were forwarded to the manager, Chris Taylor. He was very unhelpful, took days if not weeks to reply to any form on contact & now, even months after, he has not given us a refund for our night, nor our additional stay we had to book at 5:30am. Neither the Wyndham Hotel Group, nor the manager Chris has made any effort to resolve the weird behaviour made that night. Our advise is stay away from any affiliated Wyndham Hotels, the customer service and customer care you should expect from a well-sized hotel group not only falls far below a normal way of operation, but in our opinion is at the bottom of even our lowest expectation.
