WARNING: Video contains much hateful racism and cursing language.
Our family decided to spend the weekend in Seattle. We arrived at the Holiday Inn in Lake Union-Seattle. We arrived at the front desk at 924pm, with others already in the lobby waiting to be checked in. After sometime of no agent in sight, we found a janitor and asked if someone was working the front desk. He stated he didn’t know where she went and would go search for her. After a few minutes the janitor said he couldn’t find anyone and said maybe the agent on shift was sleeping in her car since she had mentioned earlier she was tired. The janitor went to look and returned once again puzzled having no idea where she was. At 10pm I started contacting other Holliday inn’s in Seattle and told them the situation. They said to wait till 11pm until the new shift started. So we did just that and waited since we had already prepaid. At 1104pm the employee enters the Inn and heads to the front desk while on her cell phone. At this time is when I started recording because I could feel this was not going to start or end well just by the tone that was coming off the agent while on the call to whoever she was speaking to. The tension was high. After her call I told her we had been waiting for 2 hours and wanted to get checked in and gave my reservation information. That’s when she started blowing up. She began calling us Mexican and told us to go back to Mexico. Roland, being Hawaiian, corrected her and I backed him up on the correction. The agent then told us to go back to Hawaii while calling me names and threatened to take us outside. We ended up leaving and checking into another hotel. This is not over. A follow up investigation is taking place. I never have imagined in my wildest dreams I would have been put in a situation like this. What hurts more is that my two boys had to witness the entire thing. It’s hard to think that we live in a world that racism will never go away. 😔
