I attended a wedding here, it was a very nice location that was simple to find. However there seemed to only be street parking and there are lots of stairs in this old building. The ceremony was beautiful and there's a bar down stairs for cocktail hour as they rearrange for dinner.

It's a historic building with all its quirks, but I love that and didn't miss the TV. Did miss the elevator that has been delayed. Beautiful wedding venue, staff is wonderful. Berry Fields cafe attached is a great perk.

If you love trains you will love staying awake all night in a room above the tracks. They showed a breakfast included on airbnb, just to take it off the website 10 min after we mentioned it to them and they told us they had no breakfast. Booking on airbnb is also more expensive and gets you the train-friendly rooms. They refuse to swap your room for one of the many empty ones pretexting they are reserved for walk-in customers (who pay less than you then). Light bulbs were not replaced, dust on top of door and window frames and furniture. Bad experience in spite of the nice building.

We toured the hotel as a potential wedding venue, and we were very impressed. The prices are very reasonable, the ballroom is breathing, and the rooms looked very comfortable and are surprisingly spacious for such an old building. There are tons of little architectural details from the 20s, and the staff (Heather, in particular) were very knowledgeable and helpful.

I give it a high rating because of its unique character and history. The rooms are all kept in pretty much the same way they were when the hotel was built. So don’t expect anything fancy here. There a are rooms that share a common bathroom and there are rooms that have toilet and bathtub. Some do have a shower but ours did not. It just had a tub. If you want to shower, you have to walk down the hallway to the common shower. It’s all nice and clean so no dramas. One thing to consider: We came here more or less by accident on a Monday evening. There is a bar attached to the hotel but it is closed on Mondays. The hotel closes sometime around 8pm and you do get a key to the front door so you can come and leave as you please. Back to the hotel itself: It’s unique. If you love vintage and classic then you’re going to like it here. If you usually stay at the Hilton or any other chain then you’re probably going to have to adjust somewhat. :) There is a cafe attached that opens at 7 for breakfast. The hotel has a nice old ballroom used for functions and events. The really nice thing is the large deck that faces the park and offers guests a great way to socialize or just enjoy a drink or dinner (which you have to bring yourself on a Monday). There is a supermarket down the road if you want to grab a few things. Other than that, there isn’t exactly a lot happening around here. Again, it was a Monday and things should get somewhat busier later in the week.

I was looking for a hotel near the Centralia Amtrak Station and liked what the property offered. Checked in late Sunday evening and was asked to prepay for the two days I had requested. Was given the key and a quick description of the property. Told it was myself and one other couple here. Said it’s slow during the week. By time I got to my room and unpacked I went down stairs but the gentleman that checked me in had left and everything was locked up. The next morning I went downstairs at 9:30 and asked the lady working behind the front desk if I could have a late check-out. She looked at me like I was a leper and asked why. When I told her that I had a 3:50 train to Portland and that the station was not open between trains. She said they had to have the rooms cleaned by 3:00 pm. I asked if I could get a refund for Monday’s stay if I could find another property that would a later check out and she again gave me a strange look. She did say no one will give you a late check out but feel free to ask. She said she would have to check with “Eric” to see if he would agree to my request. I told her that since 11:00 am was check out I would like to know before this time so I could be out before if “Eric” agreed. She promised that she “would let me know before then. ” While I was waiting I contacted the local IHG property who offered me a 2:00 pm check out.

The Berry Field has excellent food and give you plenty for your money's worth.

Went for a business event. The ballroom is a gorgeous restored 1920's style Opera theater hall. A great place for weddings and events, we had a DJ, caterer, and 150 people attending and there was room for all. Dance space was non-existent until we moved some tables, but other than that it was great!

Neil and Jodi own two amazing wedding venue locations: Centralia Grand Hotel and Ballroom and Aerie Ballroom. The locations are a block away from each and we utilized both for our wedding. After an extensive hunt of wedding venues, none of which we loved/could agree on, we took the drive down to Centralia to tour the hotel and the Aerie. Neil met us at the front desk and showed us around the hotel first. His friendliness and professionalism shined through immediately. He is so warm and inviting. The hotel is ridiculously beautiful and Neil gave us a history of the building and all the charm and love that has gone into keeping it in impeccable condition. We then walked down the street to the Aerie. The second we walked in, we knew this was our venue. Neil and Jodi have done an incredible job of maintaining the almost 100-year-old building, respecting all its history and charm. We paid our deposit and signed our contract that day. We blocked out almost all the rooms at Centralia Grand Hotel for ourselves, our parents, and our bridal parties. Upon checking in, we were greeted with warm smiles and complimentary champagne. Every staff member we encountered were welcoming and attentive. The rooms are comfortable, cozy, and have an amazing old-school charm that you must experience. We had our rehearsal dinner, as well as our wedding ceremony and reception at The Aerie.

What an amazing place to find in a small town! The 1920s lodge is renovated and reborn, with two restaurants, 9 stately rooms, the ballroom and meeting rooms, and a really nice antique Mall in the basement. It's all been restored to it's original grandeur, in a cute and walkable downtown with theaters, antique shops, specialty stores and easy access by train or car halfway between Portland and Seattle. It'd be a great place for a regional club event or a wedding.

A cute quaint 1920's themed hotel with reasonably priced rooms big and small. Some rooms even have the claw foot bathtub.

This is a beautiful property owned by a local Centralia couple. If you appreciate historic buildings and their rich heritage, this is the place for you. If you are comfortable with creaky wooden floors, this is the place for you. If you do not mind the sound of trains rolling nearby, this is the place for you. If you love the serenity of a peaceful soak in a clawfoot tub without the distraction of a TV, this is the place for you. If you value local businesses and their love for community, this is definitely the place for you. The owners clearly put tremendous effort into the preservation of the hotel's original charm while also offering modern amenities like free Wifi. Jodie (owner) greeted us warmly when the husband and I checked in. She also offered us mimosas, which was an unexpected but pleasant gesture! Per Jodie's suggestion, we walked around the premises, admired the old photographs scattered across all the walls, and gaped in wonder at the architecture. We had a wonderful stay here (Room 301; end of hallway; queen bed) and highly recommend Centralia Square Grand Ballroom & Hotel.

This place is AMAZING. The hotel is gorgeous! We stayed in room 305, and the bathtub was perfect. The staff is SO nice, and they even gave us a little tour of the building. Branch, the bar located in the hotel had delicious cocoktails and food. Wildberry had a great breakfast with huge portions. Plus there's antique shopping! Yes you can hear the trains, but I'm used to noise so it didn't bother me much. We will definitely be coming back!

We had appetizers and drinks in the Branch restaurant, which was awesome. The service was perfect and the food was amazing. After we attended a wedding and it was beautiful. The building is older with so much character. We had a great time.

It was nice. Enjoyed the wedding, nice having the place to sit before the wedding and while the tables were being setup.

I went to the ballroom for my senior prom, and I had a great time.

My wife and I went to Centralia for a wedding and stayed at the Grand Ballroom Hotel. We stayed in a auite large queen suite. While it had the charm of an old hotel it had the negatives of an old hotel as well, little sound insulation. The hotel does provide ear plugs but I can't sleep with something in my ears. The sound of people coming in late from the wedding wasn't terrible but the trains running what seemed only blocks away every 30min or so made it difficult to get a good night's rest.

Funky nice historic hotel. They have a fantastic balcony lounge right over the central square. Nice rooms, robes, and bathtub.

This hotel is so beautiful and romantic! We stayed here for a wedding and I love how they have restored the hotel to its original (well with some modern modifications) 1920s style. The historical building is comfortable (has AC), relaxing, and affordable. The staff and owners are friendly and accommodating. The adjoining restaurant was also delicious! I highly recommend staying here when you are in town.

This place is amazingly beautiful. I've seen photos of what it used to look like and the people that remodeled it did a fantastic job. It's clean, classy and the people who run it are family owners that are originally from Centralia. They restored a piece of history to it's original glory! The ballroom is breath taking and pictures do not do it justice. It's got the original 1920s feel. Expect this place to give you the original treatment (some shared bathroom facilities which are lovely and private, the fabulous stair cases, in town and by everything, personal service). It's a great price too. The nightly stay is affordable and so is the ballroom rental. Every detail is meaningful. Go take a tour at least if you are in town. The Berryfield's Cafe is on the first floor, so if you stay make sure and partake. It's award winning breakfast and lunch. There are also two floors of fabulous antiques as only Centralia can offer. I only have glowing things to say about this place. Be sure and check it out! The owners will happily tell you all about it. :).
