Good hotel to stay. But one star less for the dirty indoor pool. Breakfast was good. But they should add a couple of veg food options. And maybe milk. The cleaning staff was really nice.

Very clean, outstanding service, delicious buffet breakfast included. Mini refrigerator and microwave great conditions and the coffee maker was a nice plus. Besides my children have a blast at the pool the days that are raining… very close to so many restaurants, Aldi, etc. Love it ❤

When you pay $150/night, it is expected a certain standard that this hotel did not have. Hair happens but again, for $150 it was very disappointing to see random hair in the tub and the sink. Carpet in the room wasn't vacuumed. Build up mildew in the shower and corners in the bathroom is never pleasant and the fan wasn't working. Shower head was probably never cleaned. I have stayed in cheaper places with better cleaning standards. Room is outdated, AC was set for 60 degrees yet room was warm during the night. Breakfast is decent, good size room, bed is okay. Location is convenient, restaurants and grocery stores and probably everything you may need around. Close to Bush Gardens and Water Country USA.

The hotel is very nice, clean and very accommodating. My family and I are staying in a king suite on the 3rd floor. The room is a good size and has all we need for myself my wife and our 21 month old son. The 4 star vs. 5 star is just that the little things the small details that make all the difference just are here. The breakfast isn't world class and the AC has some quirks but overall great quality and great service all around. Love this place.

This is a 2nd stay at this Holiday Inn Express in Williamsburg and we are very pleased, again. We have a very large room with a king size bed, plenty of space, two TVs, a few different kinds of chairs and so we feel comfortable. Breakfast was very good with quite a few options. Our room was tidied up nicely and we feel fortunate to be in a super spot for visiting Williamsburg.

Beware of the slick tiles around the pool. Our 2 yr old slipped and fell on the back of her head. Did a accident report, showed the manager where she fell and I slipped twice. Nobody has called to ask how's she was doing. 2 days in the hosp. Also in room 323 there is black mold above the window from a leak. We where moved to another room 123. FYI… We brought home BED BUGS from this hotel and they are still renting out the same room for weeks now. Now we have to have our house treated and it cost $2, 000. We didn't ask for the disgusting problem, who would. Beware if you stay here.

The hotel rooms are ok. The bed is comfortable but the pillows need work. The pool was freezing cold and the spa wasn't working. The free breakfast was ok. The staff was very friendly and the best part of the hotel.

The hotel was ok, as well as the room, we were there for 3 nights. BUT… while checking in, the young lady at the front desk was way too interested in flirting with a young man that was from Africa and when it was my turn, she would not look at me, was rude, hateful, way out of line in her behavior towards me. I probably should have called for a manager right then but I didn't. Three days later I found her working the breakfast area and her attitude was just as bad as it was on check-in. She was slamming trays around, huffing and puffing like this was so beneath her. She needs to either be put in a position where public does not see her or actually be fired. She definitely is not holiday inn material. If I had not have been pre-booked, I would have found another hotel.

The room was nice and the continental breakfast was great. They had healthy choices to choose from. But the pool which is what my daughter was mostly interested in smelled like mildew and made me nervous.

It was amazing experience for someone who has never been to a hotel the pool was nice and the food was amazing credits to the cooks, the staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and perfect for someone wanting the best place to stay.

Very accommodating, great service up front. Clean rooms, ample size. Rates were a bit high this particular weekend, but would stay at again.

Went here as a chaperone with 3 5th graders. Room was not large, but was adequate for sleeping. Beds were comfortable, and the pillows were grest — one firm pillow and one soft one. Shower had great water pressure. Good selection of TV channels. The front desk was friendly and quick to get us the extra set of towels we needed. The room was clean. Hotel was close to shopping, tourist attractions, and restaurants. Overall, a good experience.

Nice hotel with a decent free breakfast. The staff was awesome. Great personalities, helpful and friendly. Best staff in any hotel that I can remember.

The elevator was down to the 4th floor, you had to walk a long flight of stairs, but there was no sign at the entrance, 4th floor or in the elevator. They avoided mentioning having any construction or maintenance. The worst part was the front desk employee who was rude (not just to me, but to other guests right in front of me) as I had to follow her to respond to my question about the type of meat used in the sausage served at breakfast. The latter was a stingy like meal. At the door, that woman did not greet the guests as any regular front desk agent should be doing. She seemed disheartened and unwelcoming.

Excellent prompt service, clean updated rooms and sufficient maid service. Overall we had a good stay.

Last minute illness lead me to book a hotel at holiday inn. Availability as well as curiosity of the hotel chain for future use of my wedding for guests this year. After arriving in the area for a day trip I became ill — I went online and looked for an overnight stay vs attempting to drive back home. Holiday had one room available for 200 something which wasn’t an issue. The issue observed was my interaction with manager on site that evening. As myself and my party with me stood there she appeared from the back and went to a computer and gestured in the most unprofessional manner. No verbiage. Due to my state of health I did not communicate the inappropriate behavior. First impression is so important in specific places and for me hotels would be one. She went on to first say there was no room and inquired how and when I booked — I replied via online. The whole interaction was not to a standard I have observed in all other stays in other hotels in my travels. I was surprise when I saw her name on the wall identifying her as the manager and disappointed. What was more disrespectful was as she was with me another guest arrived at the counter and she pause from communicating to me to properly acknowledge and welcome the male and let him know she will be right with him. She speedtalk instructions to me and hands me the keys with smeared letters to ineligible writing to where we went to the wrong room.

Wonderful place to stay. Last night a very bad experience. Night clerk handle every thing very professional. Plus extremely busy. The hotel made it right. My opinion she should be named employee of the month. With a reward. She was so carring with us and also others. Shannon is a wonderful desk clerk. She will help you with any kind of needs.

Very friendly and efficient service in the front desk. I asked for additional towels and they were delivered in no time.
Impeccable rooms and hallways. Excellent breakfast… definitely will be back.

Stayed here twice. Nice hotel, good location. Complementary breakfast is very good. Great value.

Was greated right away and booked in. The lady at front desk seemed a bit stand offish but did inform us how to get to our room and where breakfast was going to be. Husband and I was going out to find somewhere to eat and we noticed a gentleman worker and asked his suggestions. He was extremely nice and helpful. The room we stayed in is pretty big with a separate seating area. Great hot water for long bath (15 degrees outside) I was able to figure out how the room heat works so very comfortable now. The breakfast area and lounge is very clean, will be able to comment on breakfast at a later time as this is our first night and haven't done breakfast yet. There is a drink machine on another floor but no snack machine, it would have been nice for snack machine so we didn't have to go out in such cold weather to grab a snack. Overall it is very satisfying.

If you want to take a shower let them know when you check in, otherwise you have no towels Also, person that checked us in had attitude. We paid for early check in, She was very obnoxious about it, She said "check in is at 3" We said"we paid for early check in " She said"don't matter, checckin is at 3" Don't pay for early check in No towels to take shower Bad attitude from beginning In morning first thing I need is coffee, the coffee they serve is garbage water soaked in coffee plant leaves. I want to be treated like a human being, spending my money, no matter where I choose to spend the night. I will, sleep in my truck, before I ever spend another night in any room associated with Holiday Inn.

The hotel is easy to get too plenty of meal options in the area. The room is good, I did not stay long to know much about the hotel.

Clean, spacious rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. Right in the middle of restaurant row, walking distance to several eateries and shopping. Close to many popular attractions.

My family always goes to Holiday Inn and this is by far the worst run. Facilities are nice but service is the worst. One day they could not provide enough large towels (even at front desk they had small ones and had no explanation). Another day they did not clean our room. No towels at the indoor pool. All days the breakfast was sparse (such as no cinnamon rolls for the last hour, no skim milk or yogurt the last hour, no hot water to make tea or oatmeal, etc. I literately watched several families show up before the end of breakfast time and turned around as the place was almost cleaned up which should start after the posted breakfast hours. I am assuming the employees are nice and this is due to a very cheap owner. My family literally said this is the worst Holiday Inn ever which is saying something since we have ~2M points and have been to locations at the beach where the A/C did not work. I highly recommend you go to one of the 4 other Holiday Inn locations in Williamsburg and pray they do not have the same management.

Some of the nicest staff I've seen serving at a hotel of its class. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The free breakfast was an excellent compliment, though I feel the quality of the food could use some improvement as it was a bit dry.

Overall a pleasant stay. My one complaint is that there are no fans in the bathrooms. Beds were perfect for a good night's sleep.

Very nice, staff friendly and courteous. Nice selection for breakfast. Had to ask for bath towels as none in the room and they were brought promptly.

This hotel gave us the sign early on that it wouldn’t be a pleasant experience. The smell in the lobby bathroom was unbearable and was very tough to breathe. Came back 2 hours later the smell was still there. The smell in the lobby and room smelled like an old ashtray that had experienced flooding in a sewer plant. The room was dirty and the sheets had smelled like they hadn’t been washed in weeks. Do yourself a favor and head towards the bypass where all the nice hotels are. Plus they are cheaper.

Our stay here was lovely. The king room was very spacious as was the bathroom. The bed was comfy and the pillows were great! We just spent one night but I would definitely go back! Thank you!

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Close to a lot of places in Williamsburg. Pretty decent breakfast. Would recommend as a clean, well priced, no frills place to stay.

Staff is on top of things and helpful. Room is clean, pool was extremely warm. Shower is almost too powerful. Got a great deal on another stay while here too.

Not perfect. Not bad. Doing some renovations. Hopefully fix the little things. Staff was friendly. Good location. Water pressure in shower was a lot however tub very slow to drain and could use some more nonslip mats. Beds are comfortable a little squeeky but not too bad.

Great hotel, going under some renovation when we stayed, but other than a closed off area it was great. The rooms are big and well appointed. The breakfast buffet is great for business travelers and has a nice selection of hot and cold breakfast items.

My mother, brother and I were in Williamsburg on a biking trip and it dire need of a last minute hotel room. It was 10:00 at night and we happened to see the Holiday Inn Express and Suites. We inquired about availability and found this to be the case and decided to give it a shot. We did not have enough bike locks for our bikes and decided on a whim to ask if we could bring our bikes into the hotel. David was the manager that evening and was extremely helpful in getting us booked in a room AND letting us keep our bikes in the manager's office hallway (I know it was a weird request). He also made sure he relayed to the morning manager's about our situation. We were overwhelmed by the warm and friendly reception at such a late time in the evening by David and the rest of the hotel staff. The following morning after fueling up with the plentiful free breakfast, we were looking for an alan wrench to fix our bike seats (weird request number 2). The hotel manager that morning (Teresa, I believe) not only gave us the wrench, but she and my brother worked for about 45 minutes to stabilize the seats so that we would have a safe ride back. Overall the hotel staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful and I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the Williamsburg, VA area!

Called to make reservation for to night was inform nothing on bypass in Williamsburg VA for me member. Was told they had room 51\2 miles away in Williamsburg VA for members. Was inform could not use points had to pay for room. This is 2time in Mo nth that I have had problem in Williamsburg could not use member points. They send out letter telling you have to use your points then when you go to use your points they have nothing available. This is getting to be a big head ache any more with holiday inn.

Worst hotel experience ever. Front desk reception was rude with attitude from the get go. Couldn't find reservation to found them but then was told our rooms weren't available told to call back in an hour was told rooms were ready and went back to hotel where front desk reception with attitude all but called me a liar that someone told me the rooms were ready. Check in was at 3. Didn't get our room til after 4 then got a totally different room then was booked. Toilet overflowed in room and we were told couldn't be fixed until the next day. I was staying there under elite membership but never once was thanked for staying at their hotel. Worst hotel ever. Then at check out same clerk with an attitude at the front desk refused to print me a receipt for my stay when I asked for one. Again was never told thank you for staying with us. After her manager told her to print a receipt she flung it across the counter and said there your set. No goodbye, thank you nothing. Jaw dropping rudeness. Make sure your vacation isn't ruined, don't book at this location. I stayed a night at Homewood Suites the other night under elite membership and was 100% taken care of from the get go. Big difference.

Clean rooms, friendly service, nice indoor pool. Ask to be upgraded to larger room if u r a priority club member.

I have used holiday inn express for about 2 years. I absolutely love the service amenities and value! I have stayed at different ones across the us and loved them all until I came to this one. I am so dissatisfied with this location. For one, the room was not as clean as it should be. There was hair in the bath tub upon arrival, small stains on the outside of the toiled, and holes in the sheets on the bed. That was the first issue. I was also told that. Breakfast was open until 10:30 am. I got there at 10 and in the middle of fixing my 7 year old a Plate the woman snatched up all the food and took it in the back, how rude! Needless to say I took advantage of the cracker barrell down the street. I have told so many of my friends about these hotels and I would feel so bad if someone spent money here because of me. There is also a couple arguing in the room next door to me. I just lost my mother and came here to get away for two days… I am so disappointed… The one thing I can say that is good, is that the front desk staff was really courteous… For anyone visiting here, please do not let this location scare you away from all of the holiday inn express locations. This is rare I promise!

It was very pleasing to me, our room was nice and clean whenever we returned prior to leaving it, the pool was very nice (clean. Etc), and my personal favorite is the amazing continental breakfast.

The rooms are clean, prices are reasonable and they have a good breakfast.

Location is great, rooms are up to date and very clean. Staff is nice and very informative.

The building is a bit dated. Two elevators are not close to each other. Air conditioning unit is quite noisy. Breakfast is fine. There is enough space in the dinning area. Front desk is reasonably helpful. Room is pretty clearn.

Do not stay. Don't even call for reservation they will keep your money horrible! Manager has attuide. I stay at a lot of IHG hotels and I am a platinum member. Stay at the Hotel 8 they will leave the light on.

Checked in and they couldn't find our reservation till we gave them the confirmation code. What's with that? The next day they took all of the used towels and said they were short and never replaced them. So we had 1 towel to share for the rest of our stay. Never emptied the trash can. Even though it was full. The hotel itself is fairly new and nice. They just don't do a very good job of running it. We asked again for towels and they still didn't bring them.

I had a great stay here. I forgot my toothbrush and the quickly had a FREE one on hand. The room was larger than I expected and the beds very comfortable.

Exactly what I expected. This Holiday Inn Express meets basic expectations and has friendly service. Easy walk into town. Nice pool, small exercise room, and acceptable breakfast. If you have every stayed at a Holiday Inn then you know what to expect and this hotel provide consistency with a good price tag. No complaints (no smell, bathroom clean, and internet was fast). :).

I decided (against better judgment) to book a room while on the road. My take on being adventurous. I called and requested a non-smoking suite for one night. When I got to the room, it was a standard. I called the front desk to verify and was told to come to the lobby to get a new room and key. I switched to another room only to discover it was a smoking suite with a horrible odor (I would guess it was the remnants of cigarettes. ). (Thankfully, I travel with lavender linen spray. ) Also, there were no toiletries. I called the front desk again; and the person who answered the phone (in mid laughter) indicated that I had to come back to the lobby and get them. So much for being adventurous and giving the Holiday Inn a chance. Off to another location today.
