Review of Asante Sana Inn 3*

Cancelled right away! FALSE ADVERTISING, terrible service, creepy environment & rude owners. It amazes me that there are even good reviews about this place on here. I wonder how people live because when I walked in this place with my boyfriend, it was the weirdest experience ever. There was no one around to greet us. We didnt even know our room number or how to get in. We were confused. We read that there were private bathrooms… WRONG. There is 1 bathroom for all the occupants in that Inn. I used that bathroom and I couldnt believe that there was no separation from the shower and the toilet. It was literally the same floor. So the floor that we all step on with our dirty shoes, we have to shower on. After standing around for minutes and looking around not knowing what to do. We went upstairs and finally got a hold of the owners over the phone. The place looked super creepy, like we were in a haunted house and we were going to get murdered. I didn't feel safe whatsoever. The fact that the rooms have a code to open the door that is EASY to figure out was creeping me out. The owners made the place look so nice and homey online. Nope. After we talked to the owners and told them we were leaving they didnt give us any of our money back. They had the nerve to say that the bathroom was European (I've been to Europe many times and they are not like that) and that we arent getting our money back because we "already checked in" and other hotels dont do that. Well, THIS wasn't a hotel and there was no way for us to actually check in. Us calling the owners to ask a question… that was our check in. They screwed us over and ruined our day. False advertising all the way… dont go to this Inn. Do yourselves a favor and go to a legit hotel. At least when you walk in you'll get a friendly greeting and they will do anything to make your stay at that hotel a great one. That's exactly what we did after we left. We booked another hotel so much closer to the D. C monuments/museaums for the same price as this crappy Inn, and we felt like we were in paradise. Cant even compare! We are still very disappointed and the owners were jerks about it.
