I'm here right now and love it! When you pull up, you can tell right off the bat it's q nice hotel from the outside. As you walk in, it's clean, organized and welcoming. The guy that I dealt with at the front desk today was great. Walking to my room was a pleasure as the hallways smelled very clean with no odd odors that a lot of cheap hotels typically had. The biggest surprise was the room itself! Attached are some pictures. Everything was perfect. I couldn't ask for more. Management is definitely on top of their game! If you're in the Roanoke area — Sleep Inn Tanglewood IS THE PLACE TO STAY AT! I've slept at Carla Inn last night and Day's Inn Salem the night prior. Both of those were complete rat holes. I travel a lot for work and Sleep Inn Tanglewood is the best bang for the buck you can get in my opinion.

Heater was broken in main sleeping room, bearings we're going out something horrible! beds are so old they are rock hard and covered in stains. NO hot water at 430am! ice cold showers.

Fine establishment. Room was nice and seemed very clean. Was a tad difficult to find the entrance going behind the KFC, but Google maps was helpful. Breakfast was very lacking and waffle batter tasted sour.

Not impressed. This hotel does not have regular king size rooms; you must buy a suite room if you want a king bed. Hotel is old, outdated and dirty. We had stains on the sheets, stains on the upholstered furniture and carpet. The whole hotel needs updating. Wifi is terrible! Electrical outlets do not work. Had troubles getting TV reception. The breakfast inedible. Will not stay in another Sleep Inn.

Great place to stay. Courteous staff, clean rooms and so quiet. They have a very good selection for breakfast also.

I have been staying in Roanoke area on business for 20 years. I have stayed at numerous motels during that time but after staying at the Sleep Inn in Tanglewood area I have found my Roanoke motel for the future. Very nice staff and the rooms are clean and fully equipped. If you are going to stay in the area I highly recommend this motel. Local Mall and restaurants within walking distance.

The room was perfect — 2 queen beds & a living room area! Very spacious! And the price was amazing! The staff was very friendly, personable, & professional. This is definitely my hotel of choice when in the Roanoke area — great stay!

2nd floor queen bed room # 205. Near lobby and breakfast room. Room smelled like smoke that had been deoderized and mattress was old and worn out. Air worked okay once we turned it on. Staff was friendly enough. Slightly below average for choice hotel chains. Would look for other options if in town again.

Planned on using Wi-Fi for a Praxis exam… was kicked off causing me to loose over an hour's work! The study site would NOT allow saving of information. I called the front desk. "The internet is working for us, " said the clerk. This did not assist me in MY dilemma. I decided to wait until late when perhaps there would NOT be a great deal of sharing the line and the risk for the momentary loss would be less. I completed my 2hr practice test and was reviewing (#12/120) when you guess it… at 1:30AMish IT HAPPENED again Thank goodness I still passed my test the following day, but the fact that I drove 2 hours and PAID to have solitude and study did not work out! The room, however, was clean. Who knows about the breakfast… I was far too upset to eat!

Quiet and good location, beds were comfortable and the showers hot. Breakfast was of average variety but good quality, would visit again.

I arrived in the evening and didn't realize where I was exactly. It's very close to the local mall. Only a few minutes from a Walmart, and the staff was friendly during my stay. The bed was pretty comfortable, a good medium between something soft and firm, perfect for me. The boiled eggs we're disappointing but the rest of the breakfast is your normal continental complementary breakfast. The coffee is consistent and hot.

Would stay again. Basically clean. Everything worked. Very nice staff. Decent breakfast. Better than average pricing. Good value. The suite was good to have — 2 separate rooms with a door in between and a separate toilet in the bedroom area.

Good hotel, comfortable rooms, a little hard to get into if coming from route 581, all staff except for one female front desk clerk were friendly and attentive.

Great to have a separate shower without a bath. Clean simple room, no unnecessary bit and pieces, good bed and simple basic breakfast. More than fine for a one night driving through. Good price too.

Very disappointed. Room was fine, but there was a high school basketball team above us. They ran up and down the hall slamming doors. When we spoke with the desk personnel all they could say was the basketball team paid to be there. Won't stay in a sleep in again. They should look out for ALL paying customers.

Decent hotel. Very affordable and clean. What you would expect from a Sleep Inn. This place is a very good budget option.

I stayed here for 2 nights, freeway screener. I normally stay at Super 8 while traveling, I wanted something a little nicer. I'm not disappointed by Sleep Inn. Staff were friendly, more options for breakfast, food was actually hot. The internet kept getting disconnected though. I would definitely come back here.

No elevator! Thank goodness we were on the first floor. Bathroom very small shower and toilet only and had a "pocket door. The sink was outside the tiny bathroom.

I was part of a bigger group that stayed here for an event over at Cave Springs High School. There wasn't a whole lot that impressed me about the place. It seemed fairly clean and there wasn't anything horrifying about it. They were unprepared for our group, and couldn't find our reservation for about 30 min. When we got into our room, it was frigid cold. My guess is that they turn down the heat to save money when rooms are unoccupied, which makes sense, but is uncomfortable for guests. The breakfast room was small, to say the least, and had a serious lack of options. They couldn't accommodate our group of ~25 people.

I just want to start by saying that the majority of the people that work here are amazing they are very helpful very friendly and very kind and I appreciate you letting me stay. But there is one African-American lady that works at the front desk who is very rude. I'm nervous to even go ask her for anything. She told me that if I came and saw her again or even saw her face that she would have me arrested. I'm so sick of this, people using the police as a weapon. Let the police do their job and handle emergencies b******. Quit making them do nothing for no reason and handle stuff yourself or shut your f****** mouth and do your job you lazy c***. I would love to stay here a lot. But I can't because this lady at the front desk makes me nervous. In fact, someone stole my toothbrush. And I need to get a new one from the front desk and I'm scared to ask her because she makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't know what to do hopefully one of my friends that works here will help me out. Because this woman is very difficult to deal with and she makes me want to cry.

The rooms are very spacious. The staff make feel like family. Made me and my family feel at home.

Room was very clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. There is not a pool or fitness center. There is a nice breakfast with hot options. Front desk was fast and efficient.

We were looking for an affordable place to stay for a concert, and was pleasantly surprised to find such a deal. This hotel is very nice for such an affordable rate. Clean, friendly staff, and a nice location. Free breakfast is offered here, nothing special but I enjoyed coffee, juice, and a muffin before hitting the road. Highly recommended!

Found this hotel last minute on a sold out weekend due to Va Tech game. For the cost, I was thrilled. Very clean, very roomy, comfortable beds, good breakfast with friendly staff. We play baseball in Salem/Roanoke alot so we will be back.

The room was small but nicely appointed. The location was great and the staff we encountered were quite friendly. We had a very relaxing visit.

My husband and I came from St Petersburg, FL being evacuated from Hurricane Irma. The customer service of the front desk, and hotel staff was above and beyond just to accommodate us. We selected the king suite. It is very large suite. It had a kitchen, living room (with pull out bed), Separate bedroom. This hotel is well worth the money. Also has breakfast in the morning as well. I would highly recommend.

Great room, but poor customer service. I received a 6am wake-up call when I didn't request a call. They called 3 times. I was planning on sleeping late, but the calls kept waking me up. When I called the front desk to complain I received no explanation and no apology. When I checked out the next morning I complained again, but still received no apology or explanation. Their employees need a crash course in customer service.

This hotel was a great value and very comfortable stay. Check in process was very efficient. Raj the person behind the counter was nice, courteous, and professional. Facilities were clean from outside parking lot to interior of rooms. Free Wi-Fi Free parking Free breakfast. My very spacious room was equipped with coffee maker, small fridge, tv, microwave. Two queen size beds, desk with chair, and sofa with pullout bed. It also had two restrooms (the room with two beds had only a toilet, the other had toilet and shower unit. This definitely was the best value for our money. I highly recommend this hotel for traveling families or guests that want extra room to stretch out. The breakfast was fresh with assortment of fruits, pastries, eggs, sausage, juices and coffee. This is definitely a come back to place for me.

It's really nice for the price! Rooms seem recently renovated. Our room had a slight smell, but bearable. Our room was clean, but the hall carpets had many stains. Overall the hotel was just OK, but the price and the service was what made me give it 4 stars! The woman working the breakfast was very helpful and friendly!

I have stayed at many Sleep Inns in the past, this one has been the best. The service was outstanding. Very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were a great size with an attached living area with a separate TV which was great for my son to enjoy in the early morning. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was very fresh with the BEST hospitality, her name was Veena. Great location for a GREAT price!

Nice suite. The outside was a little trashy, but someone finally cleaned up some of it. Had to change rooms once. Nice staff but uninformed.

I called to inquire about the rates and any discounts offered. The person who answered the phone said she would have to check with her manager about a particular discount. When she came back to the phone, I was told the manager was busy and to leave my number and someone would call me back. Um, no thanks! If you're too busy to give me rates and info. I'm too busy looking elsewhere!

Motel manager, Staff and house keeping were very rude making unfounded accusations and treating to charge my card outrageous fees. Front desk staff was unable to complete a simple transaction. The room was filthy. Asked for towels and eventually had to go look for them myself. I have traveled all over the South East and this was, by far, the worse motel I have ever been in. My advise: save your money and sleep in your car.

The odor in this establishment was overwhelming. Lysol could not even take care of it. When they were called and told about some items being left in the room, the owner said " call the police and file a stolen property report. " The people that own and operate this place do a poor job at it. Don't let the remodeling job fool you. The place literally stinks. Plus there was black mold in the shower… My advice DO NOT STAY THERE!

Nothing to recommend it. Black mold, filthy rooms, "nonsmoking" room reeked of (? meth or MJ) smoke. Front desk total a — holes. Billed credit card >$600 for 2 nights in a $64 room. Avoid at all costs.

Our room had a trail of blood on the floor and had a bunch of ants which crawled in out bags! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Stayed there because it looked like a good value ($75 for one night. ) Got less than I paid for. Room seemed nice enough although it needed updating and hall carpets looked pretty bad. Problem started next morning when I tried to take a shower. Could not get any hot water. Shower controls were a bit corroded. Front desk attendant tried to get the hot water running but could not. He went to the room across the hall but could not get any hot water there either. He let me use the shower in a room down the hall, where he could get hot water. Breakfast was ok except the decaf coffee was lukewarm and nearly empty. It was obviously yesterdays decaf. Service was slow because the hotel is obviously understaffed. There was only one employee to staff the front desk, get the food ready, and deal with my shower issue. I asked for a partial refund, but the employee said he was not authorized to give that. He said he would appeal to the manager for a partial refund and sounded like it would happen. That was two weeks ago and I haven't gotten anything yet and don't expect to at this point. Will pay a few bucks more for a room at a good hotel on next Roanoke visit.

Dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Upon arrival the floors in my room were filthy and needed to be vacuumed and shampooed. The nightstands were never moved to be vacuumed behind. The air unit was filled with dust and a moldy odor filled the room. I developed a sinus infection after just a couple of nights here. The side entrance door does not lock or require a key card for entrance so people enter at all hours of the night. The entire hotel is in dire need of a deep cleaning and upgrade; although, given the demeanor of the unhelpful desk staff won't likely help much. If you value your health and sleep DO NOT STAY HERE.

My husband and I stayed at the sleep inn it was very good stay the breakfast was good. Remodel new rooms and love their new showers. We had a change of room at the last minute and it wasnt a problem. The night receptionist as well as the day one were very polite.

My rate of $62.00 per night was very reasonable, but having stayed at other Sleep Inns I expected the same quality here as I've experienced at other locations. The general appearance of the hotel and my room indicates it's time for an upgrade. Cracked bathroom sink, broken A/C vents, floor molding missing in the hallway, etc. Carpet in my room needs to cleaned. Went barefoot in the room and noticed the souls of my feet were dark this morning. I requested a smoking room, but there were no ash trays in the room upon my arrival. M. J. The pleasant and helpful front desk manger looked for one, but there were no extra ash trays to be found. She explained that housekeeping had broken two ash trays and apologetically suggested I use a paper coffee cup which she gave me. Having worked as a desk clerk for Marriott Renaissance, I would have gone to a vacant smoking room and robbed Peter to pay Paul. I parked my car near the rear door of the hotel (closest to my room) and discovered that the rear door did not close and I didn't need to swipe my room key card to get in. Security? RDP (Choice Privileges Member).

We stayed here for 2 nights, Jan. 25 and Jan. 26, 2011. We were greeted warmly and were impressed with the well dressed and well mannered clerk. He was so friendly and very helpful in directions to the hospital and all our needs were met. The room was convenient to the parking, quiet and clean. Our stay was comfortable and pleasant. I will totally refer others to stay here. It is so convenient to the mall, plenty of choices of places to eat, and to Carillion Roanoke Hospital.
