Had a pretty good time. The people were nice and fun and the pool felt great. The bar has some pretty good food and the music was loud.

Very nice rooms! Great front desk service.

A friend of ours blocked off some rooms for her wedding. We wanted to stay with the wedding party so we made reservations. We had 3 people so in order for us to sleep three was to put two adults in full size beds (not) or a queen bed and a roll around (additional $$ per night). We heard back in the day when this property was owned and ran by a larger national brand that is was one of the best in the area. Well now that it is locally owned it is CRAP! The bride sent out a text to all of us to apologize in advance for the condition of this property. It had went really down hill from what they remembered in the past. Well let’s jump ahead to our arrival. We had been with the party all evening and was ready to check in well let’s just say I wouldn’t let my dog sleep in the room. With the prior advance notice we wanted to inspect the room prior to check in so we did. There were dead BUGS in the bed (strike 1-2 & 3). After that we cancelled our reservation and went to the Hampton Inn just 100 yards away. After talking to others that actually stayed there they would not have stayed either. Dirty bathrooms… dirty carpet… food was lousy… wait staff in restaurant was rood when told about the food. Once home I was going through my banking statement and wow there was a $100+ charge on my card from this establishment. I called them and they told me they would credit it back. 3 days later I called again and told me they were not going to refund me due to a 24 hr notice is required.

Checked in. Checked right out. The room was filthy. Maintenance tried saying we did not have mold in the vents. Pictures prove otherwise. With 3 small children, there was no way we were staying in this sh**hole. I was fearful my kids would walk on a needle outside. I wouldn’t let my enemy even spend a night here.

It got off to a rocky start having been overbooked due to the outage at the Mill where my husband was sent to work for two weeks, but after a couple calls and good customer service in the end it all worked out so far! Room was decent and clean for this type of hotel also. He has only been in one night so far, so if anything changes I will update, but so far I am happy and will send him here again.

For a reasonable Hotel I was comfortable. Liked the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in push container on wall. Great Mexican restaurant on property.

Arrived late at night, reception was kind, room was very clean and quiet, provided breakfast was very good. Waitress was efficient. Check in and out was fast and efficient.

After reading some of the past reviews, I was a little concerned. We stayed 1 night here, had no problems with anything. The room was very comfortable including the bed. We saw no signs of any bugs in the room. Sure the hotel needed a little cosmetic work but for the price, it was reasonable.

Giving this a 1 star review because a zero star is not available. The room was not what I expected for $169 for one night. It looked like it needed some repairs — — repairs to the floor, bathroom ceiling was falling down, shower head squirted everywhere. Also, the front desk indicated the "lounge" played loud music until 2am when I questioned in the middle of the night why I could hear loud music from my room from across the hotel. Who goes to a hotel to hear loud music?! I plan on sleeping at 2am, not hearing loud bass from the music! This is a place to relax; it's not a club. If you like to sleep I would go Someplace else.

Do not stay here. Upon arriving, I notice nats in the bathroom, dead bugs all along floor boards, and the next morning at their so called excellent restaurant, there was a few nats in my son’s lemonade. Their gravy isn’t even consider gravy. More like soup. Also, I asked for extra pillows and never got them. And stains all over the floors! I don’t even want to know where those are from. And no, there is no view of the mountains. If you value your money, go stay at the two other hotels down the road. I highly suggest the Hampton Inn.

Don't ignore the reviews! I'd give zero stars if possible. We booked a room in February and arrived for our reservation this month. We checked in at the front, went to our room and came straight back to check out. When you post a sign that says no refunds after checking in for more than 10 minutes that's a sign that a lot of people have asked for refunds! It was loud from the music and partying at the pool, the room was dirty and unkempt. It did not feel safe AT ALL. The "head housekeeper" April is a poor excuse for anyone working in customer service. She went to the room where my mom was waiting for us to return to get our things without any sort of identification or hotel uniform and my mom asked her to wait a second so she could secure my dogs. April comes back to the front saying she slammed the door in her face, this was April's first lie. She put her hand in my face (I'm 7 months pregnant) and wouldn't listen to anything I had to say. Then when we asked for the manager we were told he was too busy and getting ready to leave. What kind of manager is to busy to solve a customer's problem? Extremely poor customer service all around. April and Steven at the front desk said Priceline would need to call and speak with the manager to authorize our refund and assured us that would be no problem. We asked for something in writing saying we didn't stay there and they refused. Priceline called multiple times never being able to get a manager on the phone.

There is a lounge in the main building and the music is so loud that it drowns out the TV in the room. 1:30 am and it is louder now than before. And went down to get something to eat at 9:05 pm because the menu said the restaurant was open until 10, but it was closed. Also, I paid cash when I got here but could not be assured that my credit card was not charged also.

If there was a "negative" star rating I would rate this Hotel a — 5 star. Room looked clean but had a musty smell. Building itself was not well kept. Worst part was the mgt seemed more interested in its bar patrons then hotel guests. When the bar let out there were fighting and loud drunken arguments in the parking lot which made it impossible to sleep. When we complained we could not speek with the manager, because he does not accept calls when he's not on sight. They said they could give us a $3 discount for our inconvenience. Do yourself a favor and never stay at this hotel.

Rooms are a little dated. There were a group of workers from the local paper mill staying there because of the shut down… nice enough folk just got a little loud in the parking lot. Otherwise was a pleasant enough visit. Staff was friendly and courteous.

I stayed here when I could no longer travel on I-64 due to the winter storm. Words can not describe how grateful I am that they gavae me a room at midnight and because of the storm they charged me a lower rate. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was fresh. The only issue I have is that the rooms were a but run down BUT the service is worth it. I will make it a point to use this hotel in the future if I stay in Covington.

Great place for lodging and beautiful view.

The locals visiting seemed enthusiastic about the mediocre food served on a buffet that the cook refilled the overcooked veggies with all the cooking water and left to cook even more. Two pies were excellent but two goops of an identified substance were terrible at which to even look, much less to try! The room was darkened like a nightclub and there was no view as all the blinds were drawn tight. There was no ordering from a menu on this Sunday afternoon.

But on the up side, they did warn us ahead of time that the bar was having a party when we checked in, and placed us in the rear of the motel so as not too be bothered with noise. But, didn't know we wouldn't have any hot water too take a shower the next morning before we left. When I called the front desk about it, I was told that maintenance was on its way, but unsure of a time frame as to when it would be fixed. She said she'd call them and try too find out, and call me right back. After 30 minutes of waiting, I called the front desk again and asked about a time frame of the water issue being fixed, I was told simply, THEY'RE ON THEIR WAY. Well, I managed too take a cold wash cloth and wipe myself off, then walked to the front desk and tried too get answers, at which point I was informed that the manager wasn't there yet, too give my name and number and he'd probably work out a refund for the inconvenience. I did and proceeded on my way… never hearing from anybody the rest of the day. Called and complained the following evening, asked for my name and number and was told the same thing… never heard from anybody again. Tried a 3rd time, in which this time I was told that my nights stay had been paid in full and there was nothing that could be done about it, thanks for your stay.

I arrived for my two night stay on Monday, November 27, 2017 after closing escrow on our new home in Covington. It would be two days before furniture arrives so my dog and I stayed in one of the only hotels that allow pets. We arrived shortly after 3pm and was met by a untrained front desk agent. She was unable to change my second story room to a ground floor or attend to any of my other requests. And to my surprise my credit card had already been charged. I entered my room and had to take a step back, even my dog refused to enter. After about one hour searching for another hotel, failing, I bought a Fabrize to remove the stench. The second night was by far a true nightmare. I woke around 5am with bedbugs in my bed. Now that was not the worse of it. I took two photos of the bugs and headed to the front desk. I showed the clerk my photo and was met with hostility. If this were that last hotel available you would be safer pitching a tent.

This was a very nice motel/hotel room. It was updated with nice floating floor, TV's, and fixtures. The restaurant served a nice home-cooked style breakfast. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

When I first read the reviews, I was really nervous that I was going to have a horrible stay but that wasn't the case. The people were nice and the breakfast was amazing. I think the only issue was that the room smelt a little like weed. Other than that, the beds were fine and bug free and there was plenty of room. Nice fridge and microwaves were in the rooms and I had a lovely stay. Thank you Magnuson Hotel.

The hotel was just okay for the price. They experienced a water leak and turned off the water for hours at a time without notifying guests — fishy. The breakfast program is very misleading because they make it out to seem like a free breakfast buffet, but it is only available when there are over 100 guests apparently? They give you a coupon to cover a breakfast meal on their menu instead. We found multiple bugs in our room as well. Also, the whole place reeks of cigarettes, especially the bar where patrons are allowed to smoke inside — YUCK! The bar is a nice facility but there is a cover charge and again, the smell of cigarettes is almost nauseating due to the amount of people smoking in the bar.

I don't even know where to begin with this hotel. First off breakfast isn't technically "free" if there are less than 100 guests in the hotel. They don't even open the breakfast bar when there are less than 100 guests in the hotel. They give you these little vouchers that give you $8 off breakfast at the diner. Which is pretty nice, but it still isn't "free" breakfast as much as it is a "subsidized" breakfast. Second off, there was no working water. It was awful and the main reason why I refuse to give this hotel more than a single star. They were experiencing a water leak and had to shut the water off for around 18 hours a day — and they didn't even tell the guests this until they asked! There were points where I had human waste sitting in my toilet for hours at a time. Third, there will be bugs in your room. Fourth, the bar has a $5 entry fee. It is a disgrace that this "hotel" can pass itself off as a hotel when I've stayed at Motel 6's better than this.

There are allot of bad reviews on here. Its by no means a 5 star hotel and could use a little tlc. But for the price its not bad our room was clean and bug free and I would stay there again. Breakfast buffet food was pretty good other than the bacon. It was a little to crisp well more like burnt but the rest of the food was good.

Great bang for buck hotel. Excellent buffet. When I went receptionist was polite and very kind.

Breakfast was awesome! Room was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities. Staff was nice. Bring your dancing shoes!

Is the best! Most of the time you always see negative reviews Well not today! This place is very clean, and I call it the the reason for that is because they focus on cleanse! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Check it out for your self and see. A great place to come and escape the city life! Thanks again for your time and I hope you enjoy your stay like I did mine!

Beautiful place. My kids loved the pool. Stayed in August while visiting family and had a complimentary breakfast. The food was delicious and there was plenty. The room had some some flaws and I didn't find the bed very comfortable. Overall a nice place.

I have enjoyed my stay very much. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the room was immaculate, and overall I have nothing bad to say about the hotel. I will stay here on all of my future visits to the area. I feel the need to express once more that I have never experienced such an accommodating Hotel staff at this price point. Highly recommend to anyone coming to the area.

Great personalities, helpful staff! Good restaurant food, nice room for a good price. Could be cleaner, found a dead bee under the floor lamp when we had to move it! Yuck! Simple rooms.

Don't stay at this hotel. Rooms were dirty. I had to go to car to get my own clorex wipes to clean the room. Exposed wires. Never saw the maid. When my father and I checked in needed a double bed, but when we went in room it was a king. Had to go back to lobby. They reassigned us to a room on 2nd floor. But the elevator was not working. So my 81 year old father trying to climb stairs with some light weight luggage. Room key didn't work 2nd day. They put a notice on microwave cart stating you only have 20 minutes to look over room to move if you are not satisfied with condition of it. The Hampton Inn should be open by the time we are in Covington again. I felt very dirty leaving that skid row hotel. Don't stay here drive a couple more miles and stay at a real hotel. The resturant dirty linens and food wasn't good either.

We stayed here this past weekend and the only thing good about our stay was the breakfast. We arrived late and received our 2 connecting rooms. When we got into the first room not only was it filthy, the light over the bathroom sink didn't work. I had to ask the front desk 3 times to replace the bulb and to clean our room. We have stayed here in the past, but it seems since the new ownership took over the place has gone way down hill. We weren't expecting a 5 star resort but for the prices they charge we do expect the rooms to be clean. Will be staying elsewhere from now on.

Hot water took 10 minutes to warn up. Sink didn't drain. Room smelled funny. Way too expensive. No soap. Friendly staff. Noisy ac. These other review aren't kidding about the night club, definitely could hear it until 2am and weren't even in the same building. Beds were pretty ok. Definitely not worth the money but if you have to stay somewhere it Will work.

I have family in this town and we have been staying at the mountain view for years. Recently it has become the Magnusons and the quality is lacking to say the least. The room smelled like it hadn't been opened in years, plus the cobwebs and mildew on the bathroom ceiling and the wall. They had no pack-in-plays for use because the ones they did have were faulty. How about purchase some new ones? There was a note left in the room in regard to the bugs in the window. For 114$ a night I feel like I was getting punked.

For a standard overnight stay, it isn't terrible. The price was a bit high for the quality. It is a motel, not a hotel. The bathroom was pretty dirty; hair everywhere. Zero soaps and extra tp is left in the room. Coffee is in the room but they don't leave any creamers or sweeteners for the coffee. The fridge was set on 2 with the knob missing. It was not cold enough for the food we wanted to leave in there. Breakfast is included and is served in the lobby's restaurant. The food was okay. The servers were pretty terrible. Wi-Fi password is given to you at check-in, which I prefer over calling the front desk for me. The pool looks nice. I didn't get in it though. If you are doing anything beyond the woods areas nearby, it is pretty much a 45 minute drive anywhere.

Rooms were filthy. We couldn't even walk barefoot on the laminate floors without our feet turning black. Pillows were stained. Shower curtain was dirty. Breakfast buffet was cold and nasty. Our one waitress was either still asleep or high, it was hard to tell which. The guy at the front desk when we checked in was very nice. There were extremely noisy, rowdy crowds in the parking lot outside our rooms until all ours of the night. This is not a hotel, its a motel at best, and is certainly not worth the money. I wouldn't give any stars but I had to pick one to post.

They missed up our rooms had to go and change the room, the room it self was not clean, floor was not vacuum, the coffee pot was misits life, we ask for it to be fix and when we came back to the room it was NOT, so we left a day early.

It's an old school drive up motel, but clean and decent. It was cheaper than the other options too.

Clean, professional; right off the highway we were travelling on, close to restaurants and has its own. Free warm breakfast was nice.

No longer a Best Western, but has always been clean. The attached restaurant is pretty good, too.

The hotel rooms do not look like pictures on the web. I booked a room for my family over the phone and the lady who helped was very nice and polite. After I booked the room with a no cancelation policy, I found out the hotel is a party place. We had three children with and I was disappointed to hear that news. The hotel employee was helpful and moved my family away from the bar. The pictures online show the hotel to have updated rooms. The room my family had sMelled badly and were not nice. If an 8 year old said it wasn't a nice hotel then that is the truth. I reserved a hotel so my family would have a nice place to stay. The pictures online do not compare to reality. I would not recommend this hotel unless they do renovations. Lesson learned. Honestly, I would like to have a partial refund. The experience was not good for my family. In the future I will bot reserve a room unless the hotel has been completely renovated in the last 5 years.

This place is okay, the mattress was of ok quality, too soft. The plates in the buffet breakfast was not washed properly. The air conditioning fan was making more than expected noise.

Stayed a Monday night. Great customer service. Friendly employees. Clean rooms. Kid friendly. Awesome restaurant style breakfast buffet. Highly recommend this place. My kids are high spirited and every employee were very social and kind.

Don't waste your time or money. My fiance' and I booked this hotel because it's halfway to Richmond and when we got there at 1:30am they told us that they cancelled our reservations. We booked a king bed and they were out of them, so we ended up sleeping in separate full beds. The cherry on top was the bar attached to the hotel was busy and loud. There were tons of people running around drunk and yelling. By far the worst experience I've ever had.

SERVICE MEMBERS look elsewhere. Where to begin. Hotel: In general is completely run down! Walls are thin, rooms have grime everywhere that most likely won't come off with cleaning. Other patrons were sketchy and maybe me feel unsafe. Bathroom door in my room was crumbling. How it manages to receive an average of 3.9 stars from reviewers is beyond me. Staff: My biggest complaint is with the way my reservation was handled. I called to make a reservation as I was staying with pets and needed to ask questions. The front desk person who answered was too busy to take my reservation and directed me to use the website. I did and accidentally booked for the wrong day. When I arrived on the day I thought I reserved a room for I was informed that I had already been charge for the night reserved and would need to pay for this night too, but my credit card would be credited back for the night I didn't stay. I asked the front desk staff to confirm this with the manager because if I was not going to be credited back the night I didn't stay I was not going to stay. They contacted the manager and said everything would be taken care of in the morning. This is where my 2 star rating went to 1 star. I stayed in the beginning of October and its currently December. I have been promised by the Manager Joanne multiple times that my card will be credited back and it hasn't happened yet. Each time I contact them at least 10 times now, its a new story.

A great place to stay and In a very convenient location right next to Taco Bell and I-64, They have a great little restaurant and bar and the pool was definitely a nice thing to have access to while we stayed.

Jade at front desk was very pleasant and made sure we had an appropriate room. We checked in on a Friday night without a reservation. The restaurant was very good — more than reasonable price and Renee was very friendly and helpful. The food was not outstanding, but was good and definitely made on the premises and plentiful so would eat there again. The room was a little heavy on the air freshener and was clean if not immaculate. The bed was comfortable, noise level not a problem, air conditioner worked well and internet was accessible without password issues. Will definitely stay there again.

This hotel was awesome for the price we only stayed one night but the room was clean the shower pressure was great and the pool was clean could have used more kids pool toys but I understand people might steal them free breakfast type bar decent not the best but its better than just apples and bagels and its free for a family of four that saves an expense and we had our dog and the fee was just 12 dollars.

Customer service was great. Brenda was kind, courteous and professional. We ordered pizza from Michael's New York pizza as Brenda told us it was really good. It was REALLY good. Our room was clean. We would definitely stay there again.

A night club across the pool from rooms? This was something we were not told. The music and bass rattled everything until 2:00 am. This place was terrible. The bed frame was a wooden box which is ok but it wasn't attached and sitting on the edge of the bed put you on the floor. When we called the desk the offer nothing in the way of help. I don;t recommend this place in anyway shape or form. Go somewhere else.

Loved our stay in your little town nestled in the mountains! The views are amazing, the staff was courteous and we loved the pool! Will be back.
