A Place to Stay Rooms Hotel

We had FULLY PAID reservations for the weekend and the host requested more money 3 days before arrival. They found out we were coming to town for the Lita’s rally. When we refused to pay more (it was already paid in full) they canceled our reservations at the last minute so they could charge someone else more. NOT cool. Definitely not a place I’ll book with again. We’ve let the biker community in Texas know not to trust this host. Shady shady… oh and the reservation wasn’t under my name, it was under Melanie’s but I was rooming with her so it very much effected me because I ended up not going to the rally because of the issue.

This business does not care if they rent to you or not. The reservations I was trying to book required that I call to book the place to stay. Did not get the courtesy of even a call back after numerous attempts.

Great, low maintenance place to stay for a trail run :) clean and homey.

Rude, yelling owner accusing me of trying to spend the night because we were watching TV in living room and told them they had huge Cockroaches that fly! Common bath and kitchen for 8 rooms — my dorm room was 3 times the rooms size including bathroom for 2 adjoining rooms. They said they were going to charge me rent! I'm 71, single and live in Bandera. While I was still standing with my mouth agape, she said she'd call cops and have me forcibly removed. By that time both my friend and I were trying to get her to settle down. She threw out my friend and told him he, do get no refund. We reported it to the Marshall as we are a resort town with a good reputation for friendliness and helpfulness. Y'all don't take she or her rude hubby as reps if the town — they aren't. If you come back don't go here on Main Street or low ceiling small room Bricks, but food there is good.

Loved it here. It was definitely worth the price. I will admit that I did not read the entire description when I booked room, however their description is very accurate not misleading at all. It is exactly as the name reads A Place to Stay. It is a medical office converted to a place to stay. It is decorated to fit the Bandera western theme and everything was very clean. I believe most rooms were occupied when I was there, and I never heard any noise and the communal restrooms were not an issue at all. I will definitely be back!

Very welcoming, cozy and beautiful rooms clean beds and it's just a beautiful home welcoming inn.

Very bad experience… 1.2 person bed was a uncomfortable sleeper sofa. 2. Showers had soap scum and very out of date. 3. Upon arrival, no Wi-Fi nor instructions on how to get it. When I asked an) ur it, nobody responded. 4. Note in room said beware of snakes, rats, spiders in and out of place since this is hill country and they aren't responsible. Also not responsible for swollen items. 5. Key issue…, upon arrival if late, you have to get your key out of public accessible mailbox, lock up, then replace when leaving. We felt unsafe.

Booked with this company on AirBnB, and failed to notice their $25 PER PET fee prior to booking. Tried to cancel within minutes of being advised or the extra $57 charge (not sure where the extra $7 comes from) on our original $71 booking, but was forced to pay a non-refundable "reservation fee" to get any money back. This company claims to be veteran owned and family oriented, but they just want to take your money. Look elsewhere.

Cozy little place, I recommend.

Nice furnishings and okay washrooms. But there's a radio in the common area which keeps playing. And sometimes other guests turn up the radio and play it through the night Walls are very thin too. Can hear the neighbours.

Very economical for a traveler like me on a budget… without the feel of being on one. The place is cozy, well located in Bandera. So convenient… I am so thankful for this place.

This place is an amazing and interesting place to stay, at first I was shocked to find out it looked as if it was an office converted to "a place to stay". The people are very personable and friendly, and the rooms are very cozy and clean. They have a kitchen that allows for full access and is very nice. My only complaint is that the TV has few channels, but the location has phone service so that was resolved. The place is very charming and has many unique features.

I've stayed at the HIDDEN DEAR! I loved every minute of my stay! And my hostess, Barbara Moffett, made me feel so welcome, and made me feel like I was family! I would highly recommend staying with her to anyone!

This is NOT a five-star hotel. However, if you want clean, comfortable, and convenient, this is the place to stay. Walking distance to every single place in downtown.

The greatest little town in Texas. Friendly good food and great music.

We had a fantasticTexas Hill experience. The town offered rodeos, wild west reenactments, good food, fun shops and the true cowboy experience we Chicagoans were searching for. The cottage was lovely and our host made us feel right at home!
