Love it! Great place for family fun!

We were looking forward to our April 2022 stay at the ranch. Our plans included 3 nights accommodation. The area and grounds were kept nice. However, the remote and quiet location quickly dampened our spirits when we went to bed. Likes: Remote and quiet location Rustic decor Friendly front hotel staff Hospitality: 5 out of 5 stars Dislikes (needs major improvements) 1. Beds — absolutely horrible (all beds/both rooms). Springy, non-supportive and overall a disaster. I would expect a bed like this in a cheap $50/night hotel in a remote location in the desert. Absolutely insane that you charge over $200/night for a 2-bedroom suite. I was waiting for a spring to pop through the bed and jam me in the back. 2. Shower — the shower pressure was “full” only when the dial was hot. To take a warm shower, I had to turn the knob almost completely off. When that happened, the water pressure was no more than a sprinkle. It was either full pressure (at the hottest temp) or low pressure that wasn’t scalding hot. A regular shower took me over 20 minutes due to the unregulated water temperature and pressure. 3. Faucet water. Maybe this is the eastern non-Texan part of me, but water from the sink should be relatively clear. I understand the area is on well and septic. However, you should really invest in a water filtration system that removes most of the impurities from the tap. I couldn’t drink the tap due to it being so cloudy and dirty. 4. Electrical outlets.

Great welcome on arrival, fantastic setting, Buck was so informative and brought us to feed the horses and deer, the cabin was stunning also, overall a must-do when visiting Bandera 🤠

There was no water park as advertised. We killed 4 spiders in our room, 2 of which were in my bed! For $452 for 2 nights, our Villa had window units that didn’t work correctly. The only sink in the Villa was the bathroom sink. We were told they were sorry nothing could be done as we booked with Expedia. They apologized.

We absolutely loved our stay at Flying L Ranch Resort! Kathlyn was really helpful from the beginning to the end. If you are looking for places where your whole family can enjoy activities outside, this is the place. Would definitely come back again!

We had a fabulous time! Some of the activities were closed due to COVID so we will be back again when everything is open! Wonderful birthday weekend.

Great get away staying in the cabins with the golf course straight in front of us. Inside the cabin was amazing and really clean.

The cabins were awesome and the views per priceless. But the golf course grounds crew at 6am… it does have to get done.

Flying L Ranch Resort was fun for our whole family and I definitely recommend it, we had a great time and made great memories. We will definitely be going back!

Lunch at the 19th hole restaurant is always soo good. Today I had the gourmet grilled cheese, let me tell you. 10/10. Best thing I’ve eaten there.

Beautiful place to spend family time. Food in their restaurant so delicious and great prices. Every one is so friendly and helpful here. Love the rooms very spacious, comfortable and very clean. The kids loved the play ground along with the s’mores over the fire. The kids loved feeding the horses, longhorn and deer’s. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Our family only stayed one night but we will definitely go back for a longer visit. Everyone was friendly. Buck was such a delight and very entertaining.

Buck was so friendly and really went out of his way to help everyone enjoy their time, very knowledgeable on the history of the flying l l as well as a great singer.

Staff is very friendly. The rooms are nice but the deck could not be used because of the swallow nest and all of the bird droppings on everything. And the birds charged us when we opened the door.

My daughters and I have visited the ranch seven times now. We extended our current stay twice because we love it here so much! Fun outdoor activities, clean & comfortable room accommodations for any group size, good food and the friendly staff keep bringing us back. The Flying L Ranch is our home away from home.

Excellent facilities, great shows, kids loved activities.

Expensive. “Amenities” aren’t included in the god awful price. Shower door fell off. Bed sucks. Ceiling fan squeaks all night. Bartender is an angry lesbian who looks as if she hates life and who’s service is even worse.

Friendly staff, home enviroment, plenty of sights, southern hospitality, rich history and the best people ever.

It’s an awesome place for family fun and all around fun. Awesome people amazing food.

Only been here a few hours and everyone is snotty. Staff is very rude. Water park closes way to earlie for kids who want to swim late. And it seems like only the Hispanics don’t get attended to. I have seen theee Hispanic families and no waitstaff ever go up to them. I will never stay here again or recommend it to friends.

The cabins and rooms were comfy, the staff was friendly and the location is beautiful. My family is planning many trips back. Absolutely love our stay.

Great place for the family and a wonderful place to unwind and slow down! The Flying L Ranch has a variety of activities just waiting for you to take advantage of “if you want”. Horse back riding, golf course, cozy lil water park which includes a wave pool and a great outdoor bar/grill. The customer service we received was very accommodating. My 8 and 10 year old had a great time. We look forward to a return trip.

Great country dude ranch with awesome water park! We’ve been here 9 times over the last 12 years. Great place to bring kids or just relax and enjoy the scenery. Love the cowboy western theme. Love the s’mores by the campfire every night. Love the free nightly activities they offer. New ownership and things are improving. Give this place a try if you want to experience something unique.

So far after the first day, things are good. No big issues. Room is good, guest services good, fixed what was needed, minor issues.

I read a lot of negative reviews online about this place so I was nervous about going. No reason to be. We had a great time! Be sure you’re there to experience the Saturday chuckwagon dinner and catch the wagon ride as often as you can to feed the deer.

Nice place to have fun, cool off, kids friendly! New owners, prices have gone up! The water park is nice, but not as big as the other water parks, yet there still charging like it is! Adults $25, kids $20… Not Right!

Great family fun place to stay and play in the water park along with campfires, singing and wagon rides! The Branding Iron Saloon inside the main house was upgraded tremendously and is now a great place to have a beer or mixed drink of your choice while listening to great bands and relaxing or taking turns on stage for Karaoke! Great job with the place and turning it around for the better.

Racism is alive and well here at the flying L. All the way over to the golf shop with the 2 young white girls there. Maybe its the new owner that took over?. I spent last summer here and everyone here was super excited to service us even though we were (are) Hispanic. So disappointed. I would be ok with a sign that says whites only. So at least you would know what to accept. Shame I won't be coming back here again.

Very well run golf course in the Hill Country. Under new ownership, and they have made many changes for the better.

We went to the water park. We had such a fun time. Our 10, 8 and 4 year old all had a great time.

We love Flying L. Prices went up this year, so we will only be able to go a few times this summer. Small enough that you can let your kids explore independently but enough to keep them busy all day. Love that you can get adult drinks and sit in the surf.

We came all the way from Minnesota to have our wedding at the Flying L. There was a thousand miles between us during the entire wedding planning process, and a switching of owners during this time, and right before our big day. However, Kathlyn Cunningham, Maria Hopper, Susan Jenkins, and many other staff members at the Flying L stuck together and became a fantastic team for our family and friends. They helped to make our day very special all while working through their own ups and downs. We appreciate these people tremendously and couldn't have picked a better place to have our wedding. Everything you need is all right in one spot, and the amenities are fantastic! Although we didn't personally get to enjoy all of them, we heard fantastic things from our family and friends about the horseback riding, campfires, wagon rides, water park and more! The Apache cabins are absolutely adorable, the land is beautiful, and our big cabin was perfect for the bridal party and their better halves! — We will be back for another family vacation! Thank you!

Can not say enough about this Guest ranch. Probably the best family vacation ever. The kids will have memories to last a lifetime.

I have lived on this beautiful Ranch for three years. The history is fascinating. The new owners are doing a wonderful job of restoring and rejuvenating. My favorite part is still the abundance of wildlife that live among the residents here. Ask Buck Shannon to introduce you to Kevin Bacon when you are here, he would love to meet you.

Incredible views, rich in history, southern hospitality, world renowned executive chef serving delicious meals, Lone Star Lagoon waterpark for the kids, 18 hole championship golf course, horseback riding, and The Chuck Wagon Dinner and Show is a must to go see on Saturday nights. They have a campfire and s'mores every night and you can always go in the wagon to feed the deer, axis and black buck. Whoever said you can't have it all has never been to Flying L.

Under new management. The ranch is beautiful! Multiple lodging choices. There is a small waterpark and golf course.

Amazing place home from home. We are from the uk and it would be our chosen holiday destination over and over again.

Home away from home. Try to get there as often as possible. We love the Western atmosphere, the cowboy music with Buck and friends, Chuck wagon dinners and eve fires.

This place has great potential. There were some maintenance issues that need some work but the customer service was friendly and attentive. The resort is going a change of ownership so they did not have there liquor licence and the little bar was closed. The club house was closed for food so better off bringing in your own food and snacks. The horse back ride was beautiful so if you get the chance do it! We were also here during a cold spell so we did not get the chance to use The water park or pools. The resort is geared towards children under the age of twelve or geared towards the retirement age. We are in our early 40s and we have 2 teenage kids (15 &16) they were a little bored. We did enjoyed our stay with lots of fishing and deer watching. We also enjoyed the awesome little town of Bandera. Antique shipping and good eating. We took a little trip to Boerne to see the caverns which was really cool. So over all it was a good vacation. Just a few misleading advertisements. I'm hoping that due to the owner change this place will only get better. And all the the little issues will be resolved. I would be willing to give it another chance.

Staff is friendly and helpful. The resort is run down. A full kitchen is available. Some of furniture needs to be replaced.

BEWARE! We Had our daughters wedding there Jan 2018 and got ripped off! They have no wedding organizer and no one who knows what they are doing! They talk a lot! but do not follow through. Biggest rip off was they added 20% charge on everything a week before the wedding with no warning (not like we could change locations) and on top of that, on the morning of the Wedding they say they will not unlock the doors until paid in full. Talk about being blindsided. They admitted to wrong doing but did nothing to fix it. So disappointing! DO NOT risk it, find another event center!

I am beyond disappointed in the horseback “riding” they had. The horses were dull, had ill fitting tack, and rode nose to butt the entire time. It’s pathetic and not worth the time OR money… way too over priced to just walk and trot (if you’re lucky) The scenery was fine, nothing you can’t see for free at the bandera river. The pace was boring, the lunch is basic, and overall I would never recommend them to anyone. It’s a typical dude ranch with a guide that talked ENDLESSLY and dulled plain horses. For experienced riders I recommend Cross G Ranch, for people who’ve never touched a horse, I would STILL recommend Cross G Ranch… unless you’re into slow, snail pace, uneventful rides. Sitting at DPS for 4 hours was more fun than this, at least that line there moved faster than the horses did.

Great place to experience the old cowboy country of America. Every building looks like an old saloon and even have cowboy shootouts on the ranch. Coolest thing was waking up and seeing 30 deer on your front lawn and another 30 on the back lawn.

Very nice ranch resort situated far from the city's hustle and bustle yet close to the downtown. Lot of activities to do at this place and very kid friendly. Do not miss the horse riding if you visit this place.

Great golf course in Bandera! Beautiful scenery of Hill Country. Nice break from the city courses in Austin and San Antonio.

Been coming here for 26 years and go twice a year with my family who are timeshare owners. It's really gone downhill. The buffet used to be nightly and amazing, now it's rarely and awful. In lieu of buffet sometimes, they'll do made to order, and last time the fish was inedible. We go into town to eat now. The proshop is supposed to have food, but that's rare too. The bar? Never opened. Wi-Fi? Good luck. The people? They used to be so nice and friendly and wonderful, now the only remotely valuable employee left is Buck. If you're traveling here, make sure it's a high traffic time of year, otherwise the place is a ghost town.

D not like the place at all the room was dirty, the furniture look very dirty, the dishes was not clean, my husband and I been Timeshare owners since 1989 and this is one of the dirtys places, the towels look very dirty, I'm used to 5stars nothing blower then 4stats this is a 2 star resort. The carpet was dirty, we will never stay there again. The staff was very nice, but that's all that was good. I don't understand how they can rent out a room like this this, we was very unhappy, the shower door was dirty. Our vacation was not what we expected it to be, will not go back there every again. The picture was very decided.

I came here for my school's new student retreat and had a great time! Our rooms were gorgeous, the food was good, and the scenery was nice! There is a water park, swimming pool, and various other activities available for recreation. Overall, we had a great time.

Wonderful destination! Great for a short or long vacation. Very close to downtown historic Bandera. If you are visiting I highly recommend the Natural History Museum. And the ghost town is also fun.

Came for water park. It is a small one, with only one big slide. Nice for an afternoon. Entry price is a bit high. Food prices are fair. Nice to be able to have an adult beverage. Restrooms need help. Could also use more shady seating.
