Cute place! It had a nice kitchenette with fridge, sink, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, utensils, dinnerware, etc. I like no carpet for beach area rooms … but, they still need to clean the floors! My clean white socks were black after walking around for just a little while in the room. I also was looking forward to using the jacuzzi tub, but it was dirty, as well. We would consider staying again, just hoping for a little more detail to cleaning.

This is a cozy little local place. Its location is like 1 mile to the beach access road. The rooms are large and the pool is very inviting with its palm trees, tropical plants, jacuzzi, patio lights and gazeebo. The room had a coffee maker and they offer complimentary towels for the pool. The floor in the hotel had tile thankfully! Have you ever stayed in a hotel by the beach with carpet? Yuck. The breakfast was on par with some of the bigger chained hotels that we have stayed at: my favorite was the carrot cake muffins and the waffle maker. We had biscuits and gravy one day also and sausage patties the next. My kids liked the danishes. The hotel has boat parking as well for anyone who needs it. We stayed here the summer after Hurricane Harvey so the hotel is painted a bright aqua color. The only thing I would ask for is more hooks in the rooms for towels. For a family of five we could really use them.

Breakfast was good if you cold get some. The place was so crowded it made for a horrible breakfast. No coffee, no eggs no bacon. The waffle batter was never full. Syrup was out. There was a nice kid who was in the navy who was nice but on Memorial holiday you think they would of plan ed better and had food out. The oatmeal was gone and dried out. No milk for cereal. It was a mess. The hallways were smelly and ceiling was peeling from a flood or just being old. Overall not that bad. I would stay there again but not on a holiday.

Very pleasant. Large rooms, excellent pool. Family friendly and all the amenities you need… Laundry, breakfast included, ice, parking. Rooms aren't super clean but are OK, no baby cots and tiled floors made it a bit more interesting with a crawling baby but all in all excellent value.

Room was nice for the price. It was clean but the floor was sandy from the previous people. Guys at the desk were EXTREMELY NICE and very helpful. Breakfast was typical. Waffles, bagels, donuts, OJ, limited fruit tho. Nothing really healthy. Overall, a good place to stay.

This is the second time we have stayed here and both times were great! They have great accommodations, the staff is always friendly and the location is perfect. We didn't use it but I noticed there were handicap chair lifts into the pool and hot tub.

I believe that this is an awesome place to stay. Staff is very very nice and the rooms were really clean. Good amenities.

Place was just amazing for the value. Stuff was very friendly and really helpful. Location is perfect. Only couple miles to downtown. Great work recovering the place. Pool was clean and jacuzzi was amazing. Breakfast included and decent. As soon as there are waffle makers, all is good!

Hot tub was the best feature. Room was below average. Guests in the room above were running/pacing back and forth late at night and early morning. Called front desk twice without results. Thin walls so voices carry room to room. Free breakfast was ok but no protein.

The room was decent. You can hear the upstairs guests running around, but it isn't overly loud. The heated pool was nice to swim in.

A great place. Super friendly staff. I was super happy that it's pet friendly. I will definitely stay again!

Great place to stay. But please replace the iron and ironing board. Was really old and dirty. Some people still iron.

Very nice place. My only concern, it was a week before spring break. 70.00 a night went up to 199.00 a night.

They've tried to update since the hurricane, and honestly I really was fine with the place until we went to bed. The walls are paper — thin with no insulation. We heard the person in the room next to us snoring like a bear all night, and then a family with small children were up by 6am making all of the noise in world. Kids and people snoring are definitely not plantation suites fault, but insulating and making sure doors close are. Good start to reno, not sure how they can fix the sound at this point.

Nice cozy place that you can feel the spirit of port aransas for real. Great caring manager Vick is always there. Good experience.

Rooms had been redone and were better appointed than expected. Problem was hotel was extremely loud late into evening and early next morning. Thin walls.

They should not have reopened before the hotel was completely refurbished. My room floor was covered in drywall dust and walls were not finished. Just was dirty all around.

Nice place, obviously they just had a hurricane here so damage is rampant. The rooms are missing finishing touches, there is no breakfast, hot tub doesn't work. Drains are not working properly in tubs, sinks and there is debris pretty much everywhere. The pool is slightly heated and the staff is pretty friendly. The beach is really nice and we all had a great time.

Well, where do I begin? … The problem with our stay wasn't with the management, which were actually very nice people. The issue had to do with cleanliness. The room was so bad, I actually had to purchase new bed sheets and comforters because the condition of those in the room were so dirty that we couldn't sleep on them. The bathroom and furniture was stained, dirty, and smelled bad. The other guests that were staying here were not the type that you would want as neighbors: noisy, rude, and not "kid friendly" … I'll leave it at that. Although it was conveniently located close to thebeach and good fishing spots, overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We visited about two months after Harvey decimated the area. They are definitely working hard to get the place repaired, but they left a lot of debris laying around the pool area and in the parking and in the parking lot. The staff are SUPER friendly and the rooms are really nice with all tile flooring. The Jacuzzi tub is a little worn but still nice. The bed is VERY comfortable and the pillow is wonderful. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it — but don't expect a perfect place until they've had more time for flood recovery.

The place was trying to repair damage from hurricane Harvey. It was only half done, but the staff was great and my room was fine.

The Plantation Suites is excellent, we always have a delightful stay. The pool is open till 11pm, the breakfasts are delicious, and the staff is always very nice. We prefer to stay here when visiting Port Aransas.

Simple check-in, checkout, and about a one mile drive to the beach. Rooms are clean, and the breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Motel was ok except for the weird stains on the bathroom walls. The front desk lady was rude. Overpriced and probably won't ever stay here again. Not a great experience for the price!

Is in a good location. Spacious rooms. Downside. Cleanliness of the restrooms. Grassy areas. Are covered with stickers. We would recommend.

Hotel extremely nice and friendly. Hotel rooms were clean! Free breakfast, hot and cold. Which was awesome! And close to the beach. This will be our home every time we come!

Good, friendly service. You can't use the ice machine to fill up your personal ice chest. Free breakfast was nice. People were helpful.

Excellent rooms, they are large and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and I enjoyed the continental breakfast and the fact that they are dog friendly. My only complaint is that the walls are extremely thin and you can literally hear everything your neighbors are doing. Some of the guests complained about hearing dogs barking a lot, but it is dog-friendly, so what do you expect? :) Love the location, it's a 10 minute walk to the beach and near a lot of good seafood restaurants.

This was a great stay! Close to the beach & restaurants! Good breakfast with real eggs! Swimming pool and hot tub! Place to BBQ and a place to wash things off from the beach.

We have stayed here many times. They are always great. The rooms are always clean and they even have a fish cleaning house. They have always been very accommodating especially this time. We will definitely stay again as it is our only place we stay.

The kitchenette double queen rooms are spacious, tidy, and beds are comfortable but the kitchenette lacks. It has a small fridge, microwave, and small counter top toaster oven. Beware of booking a bottom floor room for the installation is poor and you can hear if you have people upstairs feet stomping around all night. Also we happen to get a bottom room that is next to the stairs and walkway so its very noisy all day and night and being that is located right there you will here people talking and yelling outside in front of your door through out the day and night. Also its wonderful that they allow pets but not so wonderful when the owners let them outside the door to sit and bark for a lot of the day and throughout the night. I feel the hotel should have policies about that. This has not been a peaceful stay by anymeans, but instead a very noisy one actually. So word of advice if you book a room here choose an upstairs room or if you get one on the bottom floor make sure its not the one directly behind the stairs and at main entry way unless constant crazy noise is what you want to here 24 hrs a day.

The hotel holds no surprises, with rooms following a similar format to other hotels in the area. The stay was comfortable with all amenities that you would normally expect. The hotel was undergoing a face lift after a busy summer season so things externally were a little tatty. The main concern for me was the rather frosty greeting at the front desk after a long drive to the coast.

Good location. Reasonable rates. Clean rooms. Rude front desk staff. They didn't honor free drink policy. Rowdy neighbors. Weak breakfast. Stickers in grass.

Didn't even get to check in. I'm 18 and apparently you have to be 21 to stay there, I paid in full, they took my money, and when I asked for a refund when the kicked me out they refused to give the money back. We're filing a dispute.

Room 38. View was less than great but the room is clean. Housekeeping is very kind. Jet bath is cool.

I loved this place last year and came back. Horrible! We could hear the people who above and beside us. Snoring guest next door kept us up. Crying kid above us for hours. Partying outside our door until 1 am. I came out to talk to them to them to quiet down. No maid service! Had to ask for towels and had to pick thrm up at the front desk. Staff were mediocre. Not really friendly. Breakfast is always good, but very dirty this time. We did enjoy the pool quite a bit though. We will not be staying here next year. Crappie place for the money. Bummed it was horrible this yesr.

Wifi was on and off, which you needed because you didn't get good cellular signal. Rooms were nice but there was still stuff left over from the previous guest. Breakfast was good.

The rooms were nice but when I said im paying cash thats means im paying cash not run my card.

The hotel is great. Clean and well kept. But for being pet friendly, they don't care that their entire grounds are covered in burrs.

Roaches roaches roaches, air condition would work only when it wanted to, the beds were hard, their was a steady stream of water from the ceiling in the middle of the night, the manager said she'll have it looked at after we checked out but a guy showed up at our door waking us up, you have to be in your room at a certain time to get towels, no made service, you have to bring your own cleaning supplies and clean your room or else you'll be charged extra, you can here people next door and above you, lights only work when they want to, the grass had allot of stickers, bad for my dog, parking lot is too small, had to park around the corner, breakfast was mediocre, pool and spa was nice, the guy at the front desk asked if their were any problems and after I told him he said he would fix the problems but he didn't offer to fix the problem with us, the paying customers, lucky to get a 1 star rating, I'll never be back and I suggest you don't waist your money on staying at this place… extremely disappointing…

We have stayed here every time we have come. Love the hotel but be careful booking through Expedia or any other online place. They booked our room even though we had confirmation. Nice! Bring my family all the way from Austin and we get to sleep in the car!

They dont have soda machie u got to walk but they got a hot tub no candy machie but nice people.

The stay was great, clean rooms, great service, etc. But there are no back up generators. Our power went out due to the storm, and we couldn't even find the staircase to the parking lot.

It was the Thursday prior to Labor Day weekend. We saw a post on Facebook from Plantation Suites saying they had rooms available. I checked there web page and liked there King room with spa tub. (We have stayed at Plantation Suites numerous times so we had an idea what the rooms looked like. ) I called there number and spoke to a very nice person. Her name was Katie. I told her that I saw her post on Facebook and wanted to come down for 1 night with our pet. She said no problem. I booked the room. We arrived that Sunday and when we checked in to the room it WAS NOT the room I THOUGHT I booked. I was given a 2 king bed standard tub and wanted the 1 king spa tub room. Well, Kimberly (Another very nice person at check-in) explained to me that my reservation was a 2 king and not the one I was stating. She said the rooms are all sold out so there is no way to switch rooms. The manage contacted me later and I said it was MY fault for not verifying the reservation that came in the email. This was not Katie's fault AT ALL! This is where it gets GOOD! The manager took 10% off the room for the inconvenience. JUST AWESOME! At Check-out, we noticed that the 10% was not taken out but the pet fee WAS! Which was HIGHER then the 10%! Now the following I'm not saying because of the above treatment, but we comeback because of the Pet friendly, GREAT rooms, OUTSTANGING pool and hot tub area, OUTSTANDING STAFF, GREAT breakfast, GREAT location to everything in Port A! We will be back!

This was our first trip to Port A and we were a little nervous about getting a nice quiet hotel away from the teenagers. Plantation Suites was a perfect fit for us! The front desk was always attended, we got two free soft drinks upon our arrival, we never had to ask anything from housekeeping as things were replaced almost as soon as we used them. We had a king sized room with a full kitchenette, there were even pots and pans to cook omelets in! The room was also free of bugs and had jets in our bathtub which was very relaxing. I never heard the people next door, above us, or people at the pool. A full length mirror and almost 900 channels were a nice touch! I will definitely be staying here on our next trip! My only compliant was that housekeeping was trying to get into the room 30 minutes before our checkout time, but they apologized and that was pretty much the only inconvenience that happened on our stay. A+

1. When booking this room in advance, I clicked on the “pay at the hotel radio” button. The day of the reservation, I had a discourteous phone interaction with the hotel’s male Indian manager, in which he gave me lip about my hesitance of providing my credit card information number the phone to hold the reservation. Since my military family, significant other and I all use USAA, we didn’t want our information compromised. He stated that it was the hotel’s policy to have a credit card on file and that it was my fault for booking the room on a third party site. I stated that it was his failure to communicate this policy in advance instead of the day of. I gave him my mother’s card and my card in which they both did not go through. Apparently, USAA flagged our accounts for fraudulent activity since we made current purchases in San Antonio and then a large Port A purchase was made. Point blank, we arrived at the hotel ahead of time; paid half cash and half card, and guess what happened? They charged my partner’s USAA credit card twice, and all of our card information got compromised. This is exactly what we were trying to avoid in the first place. 2. Beds were hard, place was filthy, and good luck getting towels because you are going to have to snag some from the pool just to dry yourself after taking a shower. 3. This place was poorly understaffed which is understandable because I wouldn’t want to work for that horrible manager. Don’t believe me?
