In my opinion, cleanliness is one of the most important features when staying at a hotel. It was my first time ever staying at a Ramada this weekend and I must say I was very satisfied with this hotel. Room smelled and looked very Clean. Beds were very comfortable good size room. Everything about my experience with this hotel was PERFECT! My kids loved it! Will definitely be booking again soon.

We had a great stay and loved that they were pet friendly. When we first arrived, our fridge didn’t work. I called the front desk and within 5 minutes the maintenance guy came with a new one and changed them out. Louis was very friendly and accommodating at breakfast! The kids loved him. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because I feel like they have a few updates that they could make.

This hotel is extremely affordable, cheap, and though it is a 2 star hotel, the service is closer to four. The staff is quick to respond to requests. Every staff member I encountered was polite, helpful and attentive. There is no elavator, if that is an issue for anyone in your group you will want to call ahead and make sure you get a 1st floor room. We booked 4 rooms and were not near each other which was inconvenient. The beach is a bit of a walk if you are trying to drag floats, chairs and kids. On your own it is a quick 2 minutes. They need a second shower area near the pool area, this would keep the whole premise cleaner. As sand was an issue. If you are looking for a cheap place to lay your head between. Long days at the beach its perfect. Water was clear, beach was clean.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the pool is nice and there's even a smaller pool for kids and it's perfect. The negatives are the vending machines, a lot of them don't work, also the path to the beach isn't very safe or comfortable, its a small wooden path that I wouldn't want to pass at night. Other wise everything else is nice and I recommend it.

The hotel is very well maintained and the rooms are clean and spacious. Front desk was very friendly and did not mind answering all of our questions. The restaurant in the hotel was also very delicious. The food is noticeably authentic and tastes amazing. While waiting for our food, we were greeted by a man named Luis who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It is our first time in South Padre and he gave us many ideas of what to do. In the morning you can also find Luis working hard to keep all guests including ourselves happy and making sure we get what we need. We will definitely be staying here again next time we come back!

Ask for Louie's in the kitchen, he is there every morning for breakfast. He is a very entertaining and nice host. The View from the balcony in the corner of the hotel is amazing. You can see the ships come in and out in the morning. Great place to stay affordable rates.

Our room was extremely clean and refreshing upon arrival our evening front desk was pleasant, courteous n funny which made for a nice arrival after a 9.5hr drive, thank you we did add an extra nights stay which was a bit of a struggle due to our room not being avail, but it was worked out… the only disappointing issue which was not resolved as it happened both mornings was that during breakfast, if anybody wishes to eat waffles, guests are Not allowed to help themselves they must stand in line (as if in elementary school) & one of their employees handles the waffle maker, places it on a plate and only hands one per guest this is a Huge down fall for people who have children/grandchildren or an elderly awaiting them at the table, I informed him that I had 3 grandchildren waiting with their mom at the table and I was told in a very firm voice by this employee that I was only allowed one and if I needed more, I could go to the end of the line and wait for more… & there were absolutely No exceptions per Ramada… I spoke with the morning front desk about this situation on the first day, he guaranteed me that the employee would be spoken to, however it happened again on our second morning, very disappointing… but other than that, our stay was pleasant ❤

We arrived and the check in was super fast the room was clean and the location is perfect. We will visit again the pool was clean and the hot tub was great. If you you stay here you will no regret it read a few reviews and was nervous but exceeded all my expectations. By the way the waffle guy Is the nicest most cool guy the line for the waffles was long I. The morning but her keeped everyone entertained and we loved him. If you go to south padre stay here you will not regret it.

The room was a good size, six of us fit comfortably. The bathroom in our room was falling apart. The first day after coming back from the beach we realized that our door was not locked, apparently you have to pull the door tight for it to click shut all the way. Two of beds we're comfortable, but the third mattress felt like a sofa bed mattress and the pillows were lumpy. We had a great time at the beach and the beach access was nice, but we will not stay at this hotel again.

This is a wonderful hotel/motel. The rooms are so nice, clean, and well maintained as are the hotel grounds and facilities. Every employee I had contact with was pleasant, helpful, and professional. The morning breakfast attendant was so fun and engaging to everyone who wass there. I was here 10 nights, so I had time to see the daily workings. My room was well cleaned and restocked with condiments daily, and I always saw outside maintenance working and cleaning. The whole place is very impressive.

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times while vacationing in South Padre Island. This hotel has a great location to the beach with a private entrance. The rooms are clean and the staff is nice. However the jacuzzis in the room fill up incredibly slow. It literally takes forever, but it's worth it after a long day at the beach. I would suggest that for guests staying multiple nights as I usually do that housekeeping clean the floor because sand starts to build up. All said, for the price and location this hotel is a great choice, and I plan to stay again.

The Hotel was overall great. The staff is friendly the room waa clean and came with Tea, and Coffee. Breakfast was good and included. We didn't try the pool but saw other guest having fun. Shower is spacious! A/C worked like a charm. I will definitely book my stay here when I come to South Padre Again!

Too dirty, bad treatment of the reception staff, Jacuzzi too hot the water (not regulated the temperature) on the contrary pool with cold water; Breakfast stunted, lack of cleanliness in the room (I stayed for 3 days in which they did not clean in the room or change of sheets according to why they do it when vacating the room like if I pay three days? In my opinion very badly. I will not go back or recommend the Raamada Inn Father Island.

Such a lovely and very clean Island themed hotel right on the beach, across from the bird center and sea turtle hospital. Very accommodating staff. I loved my stay and will definitely be back! My only rec would be getting almond milk for breakfast for those of us who can't have regular milk, and onsite recycling. Recycling helps so much to alleviate the impact of the "to go" lifestyle that staying in hotels and traveling brings, and helps save the oceans.

This place was clean, staff was super friendly. You have beach access away from the main areas as everything is walking distance. Close to where you can go paddle boarding/kayak/fishing and nice area for a run in the morning. Breakfast is included but like gets pretty long during peak times.

Very pleased. Everything was clean and nice, great continental breakfast, Jacuzzi, pool and I especially enjoyed having my own room within our hotel room. We we're just a few yards away from the beach which was perfect! Will be staying again! ❤

Stayed overnight at the Ramada. Got us in a room last minute notice. Very clean room. Very comfortable beds. Quiet room other than being able to hear things in the parking lot and balcony outside. If you're looking for quiet, choose somewhere else. Great stay.

We stayed at the Ramada in South padre Island on December 30th, 2017. I travel to this area 12 times each winter and I prefer to stay at this location due to great experiences in the past. During this stay I left a coin purse on the bed. I didn't realize it until I got back to my parents home in the Valley which is over an hour away. When I called the front desk the man told me that the cleaning group brought the coin purse to the front desk. Inside there was a $50 bill and some valuable reward coupons for 3 different retailers. EVERYTHING was in the coin purse! I am still shocked that during the 2 days it was at the front desk there were several honest people that came in contact with this coin purse and all of my items were exactly as I left them. This confirmed that this is absolutely the best hotel on the island! The entire staff is amazing every time that I stay there. The room was very very clean and the overall experience exceeded my expectations once again. I will be back to the area in 2 weeks and I know I will be staying at this Ramada during my stay.

Pros: Good price. Close to beach. Staff is friendly. Cons: Breakfast consists of waffles, cereal, apples, and various pastries, but no eggs or other meats. Sheets were dirty. No towels stocked in room. Tv. Remote. Didn't work right. A/C was broken. I've stayed at the Ramada Inn before, and usually it's a decent place to stay. But this time I was disappointed. When I walked in the room, the first thing I noticed was that there was a big red (blood or wine? ) stain on the sheets. When I lifted the sheet, I saw that the stain had soaked through the next two sheets as well. This indicates that the sheets were not clean and probably had not been changed after the last guest. Another problem we experienced was that the room had no towels stocked. Also, the remote wasn't really working. Some of the buttons, including the channel up button, weren't working. And finally, the A/C was not working. Because we got in so late, we didn't bother to call the front desk to tell them all the problems. We just went straight to bed. The next morning, after breakfast, we spoke to the front desk and told them the problems. He wrote down our room and said he would take care of it. When we came home that night, we found that the sheets had been replaced and the towels restocked. But the A/C still hadn't been fixed. So we had to call the front desk and tell them for the second time that the A/C wasn't working.

We enjoyed our stay here, however there are a few things that need to be improved. It can get very loud with a lot of kids being at the pool until late at night. The big gap under our door didn't help either. Cleaning could be better. The microwave was dirty and the windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The beds and bathroom were fine. The free breakfast is nothing special, but the guy making it is very friendly and helpful. If you can get a good deal, this place will be fine. If you want a more quiet and better quality stay, I suggest paying a little more and go elsewhere.

Ramada South Padre is a great family vacation spot. This was our third stay at this facility, and I recommend it. The off-season prices are amazing. It's not right on the beach, but it has an access walkway to get there easily. The rooms are spacious and clean. We really have no complaints about our stay there.

My sister and I went in the off season for a small getaway in November. Luis was absolutely delightful. He was full of great suggestions as far as where to eat and what to do. Everyone working the desk was welcoming and helpful. The rooms are cheery, and everything was clean. The beach is just a short walk on a boardwalk away. Great stay, great people, would do it again.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very large, clean, and the lining very fresh and new. The bathroom was very well kept and smelled nice. The bed was comfortable and the pillows as well. The AC worked good and room temperature was kept accurate. Lighting was great and TV and wife worked good. The room was quite and very pleasantly modernly decorated. The plus in our room was the jacuzzi it worked great we loved it. We would definitely stay here again and we would of stay longer if the room would of been available. The breakfast was pleasant a continental one, real nice and people serving us and very hospitable. There was extra items for BF at extra cost which was a nice option, very low prices too. The BF are super clean and nicely decorated to match the ocean ambiance. The front dest rep. Very nice and all the stuff as well, made us feel welcomed. The whole hotel is nicely kept and very clean as well as a great view. The price made this place a "GEM" compare to the other places we stayed during our visit its the top one.

Everything at the hotel was great. The staff was friendly and food was great. The only problems I would say was ants crawling up the corner of the wall by the microwave and on the top of the counters. It is only 2 minutes from the beach and has great access. We are going to make this a yearly trip and will most likely stay again.

Price was great, and my review is much dependant on that fact. Hotel is about 15 minutes north of the bridge getting on the island. Parking can be quite an issue in the evening. You pick this hotel if you want a cheap place with walkable beach access. The refrigerator in our room was broken, we didn't have towels when we checked in to the room, the faucet handle was mostly broken and our front door handle broke off completely but I fixed it myself… All in one weekend. So pretty bad there. But the room was clean and staff were friendly, the breakfast was good. Most important, we could walk to the beach from the hotel.

Great location. Close to the beach and lots of shopping and food. Clean rooms. Super friendly staff. I've been here a couple times and I'll continue to book with them when we come to South Padre for a quality hotel at a great price.

We had some bumps at first, but all of our concerns were addressed. One of the burners on our stove was out so we were able to move to a different room. The pots didn't fit well on the stove as they were different sizes and the dishes needed to be washed before we used them. There were also some ants in the kitchen and bathroom of our first room, but management refunded our first night for the inconvenience. My favorite part of our stay was the staff! Everyone was so helpful and accommodating — especially Luis. He recommended places to eat and sightsee, helped us read the menu for the delicious restaurant on site, and always had a smile and friendly word for us. He made our trip!

Rooms are nice clean. Is a pretty nice place was able to get a late check out at 12. AC works great have stayed here several times when just wanting a place to shower and sleep. Nothing fancy but good.

We had a great time here at the Ramada. Everything was great the only drawback was the parking and the guest who brought their 50million cars with them. But other than that, the hotel was clean our room was clean and roomy. The staff was awesome and the breakfast was wonderful. We met Luis his waffles were great he had us laughing the whole time we were in line. This was the best mini vacation ever.

My first time in South Padre Island the island was beautiful and the stay at Ramada Hotel was excellent. The room was very clean and staff was friendly and courteous. I really want to give a big thank you to Luis he really made breakfast time fun. He was energetic, pleasant and a good sense of humor. I like how Luis greeted the guests with a caring smile. Even the guests was friendly and helpful toward each other like a big family. Thank you Ramada staff and especially Luis for making my first time coming to South Padre Island a fun and memorable.

This a an awesome place! Front desk people were friendly. Our room was a king size private room and we had a Jacuzzi in the room! Yeah, baby! The room was clean, no carpet! Bed was so comfortable. My husband and will definately come back! We absolutely loved it! Not mention it's close to the beach, it's walking distance. I wouldn't say "On the beach". Only take away is that the continental breakfast only consist of Danish, waffles and coffee.

They've really stepped up their game! Security patrols by armed security really makes you feel safe. It's one of the best hotels on the island for the price. They have their own beach access which is really nice. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are a decent size. We've stayed here once a year for the last few years & really enjoyed it.

Great stay! The staff was very receptive and friendly, had a couple of minor issues once we got to the room… The maintenance man responded within 5 minutes and completed the repairs just as quickly. We will definitely stay here again. Family of 4

This was a nice stay located on the beach, restaurants, and shopping. Check-in was very quick. We had booked through hotel website. Room we had double beds and was very spacious and comfortable. There was a couch, a microwave and fridge, and a coffee maker too. The room was cleaned daily and we didn't have any trouble. Beach is just a short walk behind the hotel. Hotel has private beach access. It was really clean and well kept. There were some chairs and umbrellas as soon as you walk onto the beach to rent to use. Breakfast wasn't bad. There were several options — bagels, muffins, donuts, waffles and cereal. There was also coffee and juices to choose from. The staff at this hotel is very friendly and always smiling, I really appreciated the staff. It was a great stay, I would definitely recommend.

This hotel was very nice, room were nice for bigger families. Staff was very friendly! It would be nice to have a little more variety for breakfast, but wasn't bad. They have access to beach. Would stay again.

Hotel rooms were good, beds were comfy and the room was nice and clean. We really liked the floors were tile and not carpet. Had 3 bar-b-que grills so we were able to cook out and not have to wait for a grill. Pool is little and was always full, but we spent most of our time at the beach anyways. So no biggie. Close enough to the beach to walk! The hotel is pet friendly a big plus for us! Had a great stay.

Nice rooms. Courteous staff. Love the private access to the beach. Very convenient. Kids enjoyed the pool and I liked that not only was there a pool for my older children, but for my 3 year old as well. Would definitely stay again.

Great beach access, very friendly at front desk, The gentleman who makes the waffles in the morning was also very nice and friendly. Pictures of rooms are exactly what they look like in real life. Rooms are very clean and safe to stay at. Great place to stay would defenitley stay again!

The rooms themselves were nice. Nothing 5 stars, but nice for the price. The beach access was great, as it allowed us to walk to the beach rather than drive. The food at the restaurant was good and fair in price. The breakfast was ok, but not great. It could do with additional things such as eggs. The staff was very nice, especially Luis and his son. They went out of their way to make sure we felt welcomed and they took good care of us. They were friendly and very courteous and helpful. He should be a manager. He'd do great as one. Overall, it was a great experience and would highly recommend this place.

Friendly staff, good prices, updated rooms.

We stayed in mid May after the Spring Breakers but before the main vacation season which is where most of the negative reviews are coming from. The price was very reasonable during this time at less than $50/ night (you can't find a better deal than this at any other hotel on the island during this time). The hotel isn't on the beach but it's only 1 block away and has a direct private beach access which made it easy to run and grab anything you forgot at the room. The staff was very accommodating. We brought 2 dogs, 1 being a pit bull mix which was not a problem for them. We saw they even let someone stay with their pet pig! The room was very clean. Its amazing how much sand can pile up but they can get it spotless! Free breakfast has juice, coffee, donuts, cereal, and waffles (the waffle man is super nice and helpful). Obviously if you come during spring break (anywhere on SPI) and expect a quite, kid/student free environment then you must be delusional. We didn't have any problems with noise or other guest during our stay. We will definitely be staying here again!

Very pleasant stay. Our room was large and very clean. We had excellent beach access. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast items were muffins, danish, doughnuts and cereal. They also made fresh waffles. There was also fruits and cereal.

The condition of the sink in the bathroom was horrible. Room service came while I was in the room, asked them to come later, never showed up.

The worst experience I have ever had with any hotel in my life. I'm 50 years old and travel for business & pleasure monthly. My daughter (22yrs old) stayed there March 8-11 for Spring Break. She was forced to pay all the money for the hotel upfront plus and additional $200 deposit. My daughter ran out of toilet paper and the front desk clerk Michelle told her she had to come get her own toilet paper. When my daughter checked out, she was told she couldn't checkout until housekeeping checked the room. My daughter stated she needed to go to her car and she was told she could have a seat on the sofa but she couldn't go to her car. REALLY, in what world do hotels detain their guest? She was detained for 30min. And housekeeping came with dirty towels and sheets. The front desk clerk (Michelle) than told my daughter they were going to keep the $200 deposit and charge an additional $10 per towel. I have never heard of this policy in my life. Towels and sheets get dirty all the time, that's what laundry detergent and washers are for. I called the hotel and asked if an infant soiled the bed would they charge and the clerk told me yes. I will not ever book another stay at ramada hotels. It's not even worth 1 star!

The service was very good. The room was very clean.

Well, for starters the kitchen staff was extremely friendly… especially Luis, he makes you feel like family. My wife and I ended up eating at Su Casa Cafe for most of our trip… the cook takes so much pride in her cooking and and all her menu is AMAZING. Front staff was very helpful as well, always greeted everyone with a smile. Everyone seemed happy doing their job.

It is in a great location an the staff are very kind. The price is perfect when you come from a large family. An the beach is at walking distance BIG PLUS ;@) … Can't wait to be back for the summer again … We spent most of are time on the beach. So the room was just for sleeping an that was pretty good to. I do advice everyone to go horse back riding on the beach. A big plus. South padre here we come.

The rooms were clean and adequate. We did have a refrigerator that did not work and problems with out door lock, but any problems were fixes immediately and the staff was very nice. There is a pool and hot tub at the hotel with some nice murals along the wall there. I got the feeling the whole hotel has been newly renovated. Breakfast was good. Luis quickly made perfect waffles for anyone who asked and seemed to enjoy talking to the guests. My only complaint is there was no fruit or yogurt to eat, but lots of pastries, cereal, waffles, and bagels. I don't recall how much we paid, but this was an amazing deal for the money. Clean, safe, and excellent service.

We are staying at the Ramada in South Padre island Texas. The grounds are very noisey, kids are playing in the parking lot, knocking on doors and parents are bbq'ing and drinking beer outside there room. This went on until 1am last night. Who let's there kids stay up that late?

Excellent hotel, very spacious room, fridge, microwave, beach a few steps walmart and heb very close by, the breakfast although very basic was ok but the treatment is the best, without a doubt would return.

I stayed here in June, and my experience wasn't too bad ironically. Vacation went well overall… Until I got back home and it went down from there. I started getting bites but had no idea where they were coming from. I started searching on the internet for similar symptoms and came across bed bugs. I had never had them before, so I didn't know what they looked like. Saw the picture on the Internet, went to my suitcase (same one I took on vacation) and saw them. Not really the type to want my blood sucked by these things crawling all over me while im asleep, as I'm sure this is how most feel. So my advice is to just stay away! Even if they claim they got rid of them, you can never be too safe. It is such a pain and they spread all over the place. I'd rather it be me than a child, but keep your kids in mind just in case!

Prices are very very reasonable and service is great in general. The complimentary breakfast buffet is small but has great staff to ensure a good experience. Close to the Convention Center.

There was routes, laundry machine 1 was for availability giving us a hard time cuz it was packed, pool was always full. Water didn't seem as clean.

There was sand all over the floor and in the beds. It was horrible to lay down in bed on the first night and feel sand in the sheets. It was so noisy with too many college kids packed into each room. The breakfast were horrible it was only bread, i. E. Bagel, waffle, or muffin, and cereal. Parking was very hard when the security guard would close off the entrance with a rope and then left it unattended making it impossible to drive into the parking lot of my own hotel. The staff was so slow especially when checking out it took them 30 minutes to check me out and give me a clear to leave. The advertised amenities are misleading, the hot tub was not warm enough, the shuffle board and mini golf and volleyball net were very worn down and not worth playing on. I will never stay here again.

This hotel was fair. The rooms were decent — beds could of been better but what else would you expect from a 2-star hotel. My overall feedback though is that this place was overflowing with Spring Breakers. They had one security guard on duty which probably wasn't sufficient; but at least some effort. There was a fight 3-doors down from us one night, not very pleasant but the police showed up rather quick. People were up loud well past 5 AM numerous nights. The amenities were okay. Breakfast closed earlier than posted, and parking was tight. I would recommend this as a budget hotel any time of the year other than Spring Break. If you are visiting here during March, I wouldn't recommend this unless you're looking to party for Spring Break. Overall — decent hotel for the price. It's a 2-Star hotel, don't expect anything more than that and you will be fine.

They charged us too much for the plates that were otherwise listed on the menu price. This is wholly unacceptable in food service. I had cold enchiladas, with room temperature beans and rice. Sickening, disgusting food. Why has this place not been shut down.

The truth. Very bad that hotel. The room was flooded of water because the air not Serbian. Not is because not arranged well. And only told am sorry! I. I do not recommend it.! Nadaa.

Do NOT Stay at this hotel, you will regret it! Stay Away if you value your family and your health. This was the worse experience we have ever had in our lives! The rooms are filled with bed bugs that will eat at your skin every night. The cleaning service does not provide new sheets on your stay. They will only make the bed with the same sheets, a quick sweep and mild rag mop. My 3 year old daughter was bitten on her little face, her arms, neck and legs. She is crying on a daily basis and her Pediatrician confirmed the massive rash and bumps were bed bugs. Our young son 9yr old has red spots on his arms and legs, he is special needs child. My husband had his arms, elbows and legs filled with hives and itching for a week and still itching. As for myself I have bug bites on my face and scalp which are very irritable. We stayed for a week and we were unsure of what was happening because we have never encountered bed bugs before. We thought it was mosquito bites or allergic reaction to something. So, when we finally reported the findings upon checking out. The supervisor or manager whatever she was "Sonia" told my husband "OH Well, you pre-paid through Expedia. As a mother I contacted the front desk once again very upset wanting to speak to management "Billy" and left several messages. I had a pediatrician confirmation on the bed bugs.

I will never stay at a Travelodge affiliated hotel again. This was the worst I have ever been treated by a Hotel. I will stick to my FAVORITE place La Quinta and pay double if I have to. First the sheets were full of sand, although I understand this is close to the beach, the washer/dryer should clean them properly. The pool had tons of small bugs in it and was not very pleasent to be in. The cleaning crew would bag so hard on the door it woke my 1 year old up 2 days in a row. When I left I accidently left behind 2 wedding bands and it took them 2-3 days for them to call me back to say they had not found them. I left them in plain site by the alarm clock so that I wouldn't forget them and they still said they did not find them. I guess they arent cleaning/wiping down the dressers either. They over charged my card and it took me 5 calls and 2 seprate emails for them to call me and tell me I was charged properly by their records and I would have send statements. I have already done this and half expect them to call me back and say there was some other charge they forgot to mention and keep my money once more. Worst vacation hotel ever.

An unauthorized charge was put on my credit card. I sent an email through the contact us link on their web page and never got a response after 2 weeks. I phoned, was put on hold for 10 minutes. Finally got them to phone me back. They said it was a "resort fee". I stayed at this hotel twice last year with no "resort fee". When I checked out, my checkout receipt did not reflect this charge. They said it was from booking thru a 3rd party. I booked directly with the hotel. The charge was $8.58. And they did not offer to credit it back to my account. It is a shame this small unauthorized charge will deter me from ever staying at this hotel again.

Good place for the Regal. Walmart 5 min access to beach & habs gdes for groups.

It may not be a 4 or 5 star. But it's was worth the stay! Most of the hotels on SPI are old (dated) and over priced. Travelodge was clean, had excellent service, and the price was legit. They offer free continental with super awesome waffles. Luis, an employee, works the breakfast for all the guest, is very nice and helpful to all the guests. My one complaint is upon arriving check in, Hector, the reception desk employee, made a copy of my ID and CREDIT CARD which is a HUGE FOUL! When asked, he said it was policy. Anyone should know that all your information obtained with a physical copy of your credit card can be dangerous. Yes even businesses and employees who work for the company. I contacted my bank immediately and they also agreed no one should ever make a copy of your credit card. I would recommend the manager change this policy and implement new safeguards to protect their customer's information.

It is very expensive for the service offered. Does not respect the committed rates, one day you charge more than another.
