I am really enjoying my stay at the Sheraton at the Capitol. My room is very spacious and nice. The staff has helped me to save money on parking fees and is very helpful in general. The hotel is walking distance to several places of interest. And for a small deposit I am able to keep my dog in the room. My one complaint is that there are not enough plugs in the conference room.

Great location, an awesome rate for my business trip to Austin. Comfortable and quiet location, beautiful modern redo of common spaces since my last visit here. A grab-and-go food option, a nice, lively reataurant, and plenty of parking that's not too far of a walk to the elevators. Always a great experience although the room renovations are sorely needed, but coming soon, which is why they are docked one star. The staff is very friendly and this is overall an excellent place for a business trip. Very much recommend.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The lobby was beautiful and had plenty of places to sit and relax. They had fruit water and free coffee in the lobby which was really nice. The pool was not very clean when I went but it is beautiful outside. The location was nice. It is on the edge of Austin so if you are wanting to walk places you will have a good walk depending on where you want to go. The room was nice and clean but did feel a little dated. The pillows were incredible and the bed was comfy. I would definitely stay there again.

The location was on the edge of downtown, not inconvenient but about a half mile or more from most places of interest. The room was nice and had as much room as most hotel rooms. Everyone was friendly and the lobby was nice for what I paid. I booked through hotel tonight so I got a pretty good deal and it definitely made it worth it.

Overbooked. Even after my husband's company paid to block off rooms. They were not prepared at all. Terribly unprofessional. You have to pay extra to have a refrigerator in your room too. And NO one has an answer to why this wasn't better planned when this was booked well in advance. Additionally, this particular room is SUPER outdated and does not even belong in this hotel. The lobby may be modernized but not this room. There is not fan in the bathroom for air circulation and so it gets very stuffy in there. No bathtub. The view is also terrible. Seriously no point of having a window.

From the moment we walked in we were met with very hospitable employees including Andrew and Chance. Mike from the Sheraton lounge also did an amazing job accommodating everything we needed. He went above and beyond. I felt like they were more than just employees but friends. The bar manager at the yard also was a great guy and Hannah was an amazing bartender whom was very knowledgeable about local breweries. Great job guys!

The rooms are good. The hotel is very nice and the staff is very helpful. The hotel is a non-smoking hotel. Although there is a small smoking balcony, cigarettes are only available near the Convention center located 7 blocks away. The breakfast yogurt with fruit from the small store at the reception is delicious and for a breakfasts to go also not too expensive.

We went for happy hour and ended up just getting a room for the night. Everything about the hotel was exceptional, and I don't give praise lightly. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in both bar and restaurant where we had dinner. Food was beyond good and great value for money and service in both places attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I could go on but suffice it to say I was very pleased with my stay, and although short and sweet this time, I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

Awful customer service, very poor security. Our car was broken into while parked at the Sheraton parking garage, and when we tried to speak to the general manager about it (after speaking with numerous others at the hotel) she refused to call us back. All we wanted was a phone call and they wouldn't even do that! There's plenty of other hotels in Austin that understand what customer service means. The lobby and common areas are nice and updated but the rooms need some refurbishment. The front desk staff was okay, but security overall is very lax! Our friends were solicited for money by some guy wandering through the hotel parking lot, and the hotel staff doesn't seem concerned about this issue, as they don't even have security cameras throughout the garage — only at the entrance and exit!

Friendly staff and great service. Awesome pool… indoor and outdoor. Indoor hot tub and changing rooms. Nice large "backard" area. Groups can spread out, kids can run. Daily specials and music in the yard on weekends. Swanky decor and clean rooms and comfy beds. Late check out requests until 1 pm… early check in probably not as available because of the late checkouts but they'll secure your bags if you want to go explore.

I had the first room you come to after exiting the elevator! You would think all the foot traffic would make it noisy but that was not the case! I loved the convenience of being right there, as I am used to having to drag my luggage all the way down the hall. The room was beautiful: clean, wonderful shower with warm water and strong flow, a fridge (! ), and more lighting than half the hotels I've stayed in. I loved it!

Great location near UT Campus and right off the hwy. Rooms were nice and staff is very helpful. Lots of stuff in walking distance. Rooms a little outdated but looks like an upcoming remodel in 2018! Thanks Sheraton. The indoor pool is perfect for winter.

Rooms are nice and the hotel is okay all together. Unfortunately we were greeted with a bad attitude by a Hispanic woman at the front desk. Sucks cause that's the FIRST person we encountered during a Packed Sprint Cellular event. All the other staff were friendly and welcoming. Great stay overall and the location was great.

Nice, clean room. Bed was very comfortable. No free breakfast and garage parking is $30 per night. Neighborhood was okay, seemingly safe walking to and from stadium for a night game. Questionable if walking toward downtown, especially at night, due to homeless shelter nearby. Plenty of cab/bike taxi options however.

Me and Uno's friends stayed there for the night. It was nice and clean our room which is all we enjoyed in the short time we were sleeping there. The view of the room was pretty.

There were a ton of issues at first when our rooms were double booked. At first the staff seemed rude and unwilling to help. But they definitely made up for it and were very kind and helpful in the end. It's also very beautiful and has nice amenities.

Good proximity to downtown area and a great staff. The path to rooms can be a bit labyrinthine at first but you will soon get used to it. The bar area is great. Nice, open feel. With the terraced pool area adjacent to it there are plenty of places to break out and work or relax. The staff are great. Attending an industry conference and the setup is working very well.

Good experience in general. The hotel is dated and needs updated. It wouldn't be able to command the prices it does if it didn't have the convention space it does. Clean rooms, (need another place to sit, one desk chair but lots of open floor space) fridge, etc. Bathroom is fine nothing special whatsoever, nice bath products. Lots of upsells which are included at cheaper, and yet more modern hotels (typically of convention hotels). The hotel isn't really near any thing and isn't in a particularly good neighborhood so plan on driving (and paying for expensive parking) or rides share/ taxi.

Stayed here for the second time for an annual conference. The hotel is very pretty in the lobby and restaurants area. The rooms could use an update but they were clean and the cleaning staff were responsive to guests. We received club access due to our starwood status and the club was fairly basic but the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was just fine and the wine and beer in the evenings were pay, not free. I enjoyed the quiet of the club to relax in the morning and evening. The location of the hotel is near to the Capitol, as in the title, and the surrounding area does not feel as if you could walk around safely, as I would in other areas of Austin.

I stayed at this location for a conference and enjoyed my stay immensely! The staff was professional and friendly, the conference spaces were cozy, and the restaurant and bar locations offered some delicious food. My room was comfortable but it did feel a bit dated given that the hotel is aiming for a professional, modern vibe. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would consider staying at this location again.

We had a very good experience during our stay in Austin while staying at The Sheraton State Capitol Hotel. The room was clean, smelled good. We loved the fact that all the linens were white. The pool area was really nice along with the play area. The restaurant food was really tasty. Special shout out to Silvestre and the waitresses… We also had a chance to use the fitness rooms… very high tech. We are definitely coming back to Austin and stay at The Sheraton.

Pretty nice, comfortable, not the cleanest, but fairly clean. Be prepared for a 30 dollar fee for parking. Toilets sit real close to the floor. Great for kids, but reminded me of grade school. Nice hot showers. Great Starbucks coffee in room. Bar does not do mixed drinks, live music at bat, restaurant is OK at best and staff was friendly.

Excellent place. Its near the best places in the city. We loved the commodities and the service. The place is beautiful! \ What I didn't like is that the parking lot floors 4 and 5 have no direct access to the lobby so we had to carry our luggage down two floors of stairs.

Had a great stay. Loved the pool and closeness to everything. Want to give a five star review to the valet Ian Green he helped me so much when we got there with my bags logging in to the Wi-Fi and with telling me about the attractions nearby. Very nice guy!

Expensive, I guess is because the location. Rooms are clean. If you stay here check out their restaurant burgers are very good. Best burger I have ever had!

The Sheraton's conference facilities are spacious, clean, and have a good speaker system (both audio and video). Wait service was good for both lunch and dinner. The chicken, as a caesar salad and as an entree was moist and had great flavor. I recommend the key lime pie as a dessert selection.

The hotel needs some serious work. I was here for a conference that lasted 2 days. When I got to the hotel at three in the afternoon my room was not ready for some reason that they could not explain. To wait for my room to be available I went to their restaurant and ordered a flat bread pizza. The quality and cost of the pizza was disproportionate. I paid $14 for what tasted like a $0.99 store-brand frozen pizza. The food service at the conference was abysmal. Food was never served on time or warm. The only saving grace was that the hotel room was decent and cleaned regularly. However getting to the room was a problem since one of the three elevators was broken. I would definitely look for other alternatives any future stay in Austin.

Would give it 5 stars but they are in the middle of a major remodel so some things are not available at the moment. Great location in downtown Austin though. Easy walk to 6th or Rainey street.

Rooms, location and service are great, but the hotel is undergoing construction. I have been fine with this aside from a few weird noises at times throughout the day. However, I tried to use the pool area and hot tub today and was very disappointed. There are leaves covering the unmaintained pool and for no reason at all the hot tub is out of order. There is no construction going on in these areas so I was really displeased.

The room was clean and recently updated. The hotel is undergoing renovations and work was being done all day Saturday while we were there. Lots of drilling. Very loud. Pool and fitness center were good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

What can I say about this place… Its walking distance from 6th street, but I'm not sure everyone will be confortable doing that walk at night. It just looks deserted by there. The hotel rooms are smaller than I'm used to for a sheraton. The lounge is ok. The hotel has a pool and a couple of restaurants. The prices are a bit too high when I compare it with other sheraton hotels (I was there ACL wknd). I'm glad I picked this over the more central options, I'm not sure how much noise the other hotels near 6th street get… Im sure its not as quiet as here.

The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The valet service is superb. They had my car ready by the time I got down to the lobby everytime. We had a great view from the room and it was a decent size. My one complaint is the bed sheets were rough.

Let's me start off by saying my experience went completely downhill the moment I walked into this hotel. First, I was told there were no rooms available with two beds even though the lady right in front of me was given a room with two beds. I figured she was the last recepient of the room with 2-beds. Next, I come up to my room only to find out it connects to another room where its inhabitants are extremely loud. I called the front desk and the lady was very unpleasant to talk to. She said she would have someone call me back. I waited about an hour before I called them again and was asked to go downstairs to arrange a change of room. To my surprise, the customer ahead of me was also offered a room with 2 beds but I didn't think much of it since the clerk I spoke to over the phone made it seem like I would be getting a room with 2 beds. I figured the very first clerk I checked in with was either unexperienced or didn't like me very much. So I finally made it up to my room only to find that I was once again given a room with one bed and to top it off, there was un-flushed, used toilet paper in the comode. Nothing says Happy New Year's Eve like getting a five star welcome into your hotel, right Sheraton?

The whole place is under construction. Ran us in circles telling us where to get food. Landmark restaurant was expensive and only sold sandwiches. Rooms are small. The ironing board was unusable and we've only been here an hour.

Turns out, they overcharge by $40-$50/night and the manager says he can't do anything about it. Entire hotel is under construction and the sounds are miserable. Beds are rock solid and uncomfortable, elevators are so old they would repeatedly stop working while people were inside. Nightmare experience for a friend's wedding weekend.

So where do I start… Came here for one night 12/11-12. There are currently renovations being done to improve the lobby and bar which I have 0 problem with since I WILL BE RETURNING to this hotel! Our room was great! The had the softest pillows and bedspreads you've laid your head on in a long time. And it was a decent view! Very clean! Hotel staff were all incredibly helpful and courteous. The pool and Jacuzzi area are amazing though they are working on the outside as well! About 300 feet from tge outdoor pool area… If your the type who that really wouldn't mind swimming indoors in the winter… This shouldn't be a problem! Lol… My only issue was that when we used the wrong card to leave the garage, we used the button on the gate machine to call the front desk. The machine started to beep… And that was it. No one ever came out or on the intercom. When we left to go out at 2am, it was beeping… When we checked out at noon … It was still beeping! It was initially our fault so I don't diductbthat from the experience! Its close to this really great restaurant called Brick Oven and is overall a really nice place! Would recommend 1000 times!

Nice hotel, good service by the staff. They are doing a lot of renovations, so there's a lot of construction activity going on in the Lobby and dining areas. I'm sure it will be nice once it's complete, but until then it's a little on the distracting side.

Horrible Service, over priced horrible food, dirty room, the floor in which I was stunk like sewer.

The Sheraton is pretty standard for a mid-high end business oriented hotel. I've stayed here many times. Some of the amenities can seem a bit dated and there are the occasional maintenance issues. However the front desk staff is helpful in taking care of any issues that arise.

Beautiful property! Front desk staff was extremely friendly and very helpful even when I booked my reservation for the wrong date. Brittany was extremely patient and helpful.

Parking per vehicle is $22… The keys they gave us didn't work then the replacement didn't come until we called guest services before leaving for the night. The TV didn't work and they didn't fix it even after I called to inform guest services. The iron didn't work, although that was replaced quickly still an inconvenience. The shower was all whack and both spouts were on at the same time. Guest services weren't very friendly and a hotel service person came in the room without knocking. The room is nice and comfy I'll give them that… But the ice maker in our floor didn't work either… There wasn't enough sugar or cream for the coffee… Just not the best experience. Not coming back here in the future.

We stayed at Sheraton Austin from July 23 to July 27. We had a great and fun experience. 1) The hotel is at the convenient location to walk to down town, 6 street and other historic places. 2) All employees especially, Naiza Durvesh, Bailey K and the bartenders and servers at the bar were really great, fun, professional and helpful. They made our stay very pleasant. Thank you all. Ethi.

Some guy was running down the hallway on the 7th floor at around 1:30 or so in the morning screaming ''I am going to f'ing kill you'' and before that it sounded like there was a party in the hall. I realize that it is hard to control what idiots check in, so… I don't blame the hotel. I did not feel comfortable with my young child. It they made a few small changes it could be much better. It would be nice to get snacks and drinks by the pool. No such luck. Restaurant hours are weird, so we had to eat in hotel lobby. This place could use a little TLC and polishing.

Rooms were ok but valet was awfully rude! then we were overcharged. They are crediting back after I had to call 4 times! credit won't show for 3 to 10 days?! they should hve never overcharged to begin with! I shouldn't hve to be wasting my time chasing my money; the same money they shouldn't hve taken to begin with.

Worst experience in a Sheraton Hotel. It all started at check in, we arrived after 5 pm and was told my room was not ready. Really? check in is 3 pm Room was nasty and had an odor. The air conditioner barely blew air even on high. I could go on and on about the room. The staff is short and kinda rude. If this hotel was not the host hotel for an event I would have checked out. stay away.

A spectacular ripoff. For $400/night what you get is a Holiday Inn marquarading as a Sheraton. The "deluxe" room was a joke. Tired and uninspiring, no perks of any kind one might expect at this price — mini bar, fridge, free newspaper, breakfast or Wi-Fi, lousy towels and a Motel 6 bathroom. They nickel and dime you for everything. I yelled a them repeatedly until they ran out of excuses and gave me $200 off my 2 night stay, still a ripoff and still waiting for the $200! The one day we were there for a full day the cleaning staff didn't clean our room until we were out for dinner, but they forgot to give us coffee cups and gave us decaf, not to mention the lousy coffee maker leaked everywhere! Avoid this place if at all possible, or if someone else is paying for you.

Most horrible experience ever! Had to book rooms with multiple people staying and they had the names all messed up. Then when it was time for check out and to be billed; they did NOT charge the right cards the right amount. Then after returning having figured out that the right amounts were not charged had to wait 5 to 10 business days for them to fix their mistake! Once that first mistake was fixed of theirs THEY CHARGED OUR CARDS AGAIN A MONTH LATER! Never again will I book rooms there for any of my staff members.

Hotel is great, staff is friendly and rooms are comfortable, but I have no idea why in this day and age when people have electronics coming out of every pocket, there isn't a single available outlet next to the bed. So you have to make the decision between unplugging the clock or lamp. Since I have a 630 flight in the morning and don't want to chance my phone alarm not working, I now have to use my phones light as a flashlight cause my lamp is unplugged. Get more outlets! Everything else is great at the hotel.

The staff @ the Sheraton could not have been more accommodating. Their knowledge and insight on what to do and where to go made our trip more enjoyable than we could've imagined.

Great location but a little dated at present, breakfast area and bar just been renovated to a nice modern standard, rooms to follow soon which will notch this up to a 5 star review for me.

This has been one of the worst experiences at a hotel. We can get over the fact that the rooms are small, outdated, worn and dinged. We can’t over the fact that they’re smelly and dirty. We asked the staff to address several issues in our room (dust bunnies and hair from previous guests stuck in the carpet, greasy hand prints smudged down the windows, etc). They answered quickly that they would take care of the issues. But did they actually do it? NO, THEY DID NOT. We were shocked and disappointed to return to our hotel room after being promised these issues would be addressed, only to find that they were not. It didn’t even look like someone attempted to clean. We asked the hotel again to clean and they offered to change rooms (to another dirty one, I’m sure). If this level of dirt and filth is visible to the naked eye, I hate to think what is lurking on a microscopic level. Horrible experience, inconsistent service (room service too). I will never stay at another Sheraton after this and I recommend you think twice about it, too.

Their reservation policy is basically highway robbery. I reserved a room a month and a half in advance yet had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. When I cancelled the reservation they told me that there was a cancellation fee and I specifically asked whether I would still have to pay the full amount even when I never even stepped foot in the building and they told me no. HOWEVER, after reviewing my credit card bill for the month I saw that they charged me the full amount as If I actually stayed there. I tried to call their billing department but they haven't even responded to any of my messages and it's been a month. I'd advise anyone and everyone to stay elsewhere unless you like being made a fool of.

My daughter and I stayed for two (2) nights, but originally planned on staying for six (6) nights. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. The room was clean and spacious, but was not pleased with the dark interiors. Our room has a nice view of the Capitol. The Landmark Lobby Bar and Grille served good food. Reasons why we cut short our stay: 1. Although the hotel provided free one (1) hour Wi-Fi access, this feature is available only at the lobby. 2. Quite far from McKinney Falls State Park. My daughter attended summer camp at the Park, and we had to travel to and from the hotel every morning and in the afternoon for five (5) days. We spent considerable time on the road in the 2 days we were at Sheraton. 3. No nearby restaurants. The nearest restaurant is at least three (3) blocks away. 4. Hotel room rate when we booked was different from what we were actually charged.
