Review of Homewood Suites 3*

We have stayed here several times because they have larger rooms that will accommodate our two small children. It has always been an ok hotel. However, this past weekend, we stayed there and I accidentally left my clothes in the closet when we left. This was my fault that I left them there, but hotels in my experience are good about keeping things left in rooms for customers. I was driving home later that day and realized I had left them in the room, hanging in the closet, so I turned around. When I got back to the hotel, they claimed that they had not found anything and told me to call the manager the following day. I called back the following day and they told me that the manager would not be in until 3 p. M. So I needed to call back between 3 and 11 that evening. I called back at 8:30 that evening and they told me that the manager is only there during the days and I would need to call back this morning after 8:30. I was able to leave a message for the manager at this point. But it felt like they were definitely trying to give me the run around. The manager called back this morning and was less than helpful. I explained the situation to him again and he told me that the maid had not found the clothes and that they didn't have them basically saying that I was wrong. It made me wonder how many times people leave things in the hotel and they just tell them that they do not have the item because it was stolen by housekeeping. I told him that I would be reviewing his hotel and he was fine with that. I told him that I stay in his hotel when I am in the Dallas area and he would be losing my business because he did not try to make this situation right. He was fine with that as well. This hotel does not subscribe to the philosophy that the customer is always right. In fact, in their minds, the staff is always right. I was thoroughly unimpressed with the staff and especially the manager. He did nothing to try to make the situation right. He did not say he would even continue looking for the clothes. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
