This is the most beautiful hotel, with the most amazing staff. The restaurant will knock your socks off and the beautiful spa will leave you feeling renewed. There are so many amazing restaurants and super fun places to shop less than a 5 minute walk away. Choose the Highland if you just need a little getaway right here in your hometown.

The room I had was awful, the bathroom sink was clogged, The shower didn’t work, the hairdryer didn’t work. And I had a noisy black couple next-door to me screaming and fighting at 6 o’clock in the morning!

I love their bar… very cool bartenders last night… I think it was Aldo and Scott… introduced me to some new spirits.

I was not impressed with the stay here. It's overpriced for the tiny rooms they provide. Upon entering the room, it smelled old and felt humid. I had a much better stay at the Renaissance Hotel in Dallas for a much better rate. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Oh, and parking is VALET ONLY. I think the valet cost of $32 should be included in the rate since it's overpriced and you're pretty much forced to use it if you're driving yourself there. The only reason I gave it one star is because the service was decent.

Loved The Highland. The location and room were perfect. The fitness center was also very nice. Knife Dallas (the restaurant in the hotel) was amazing. I highly recommend The Rib burger.

I went here for a 3 day seminar and I was not informed that you had to pay for your valet. I got there bright and early and pulled up but couldn't find any parking upon arrival. The Valet parking personnel came up and told me that there was no public parking and I had to park my vehicle through them. I think it's really important to let visitors know ahead of time and prior to arrival. I was a little disappointed to attend a 3 day seminar and end up paying over $50 including the tip. So, if anybody is wanting to know, valet parking only, … at the The Highland Dallas.

I have been wanting to eat at Knife restaurant, inside The Highland, for quite some time. I went by myself and had no trouble going right to the bar where I was greeted immediately and handed both a drink and dinner menu. Everyone was very prompt and kind. I ordered two cocktails and the skirt steak with mac and cheese. Everything was great and I even returned the next morning to try their French toast which by the way was the single most amazing breakfast I've ever had. I can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. Honestly, I may take my wife and son next weekend since she has returned home from vacation.

We stayed overnight on our wedding night in advance of our honeymoon. This is an historic Dallas hotel that fell into disrepair and has been renovated into a boutique hotel. It is well located in North Dallas (we Ubered to our dinner reservations at The Grape, also recommended) and is host to a fantastic restaurant (Knife) and bar. We enjoyed our stay…

Marvelous ambiance. Smartly appointed rooms with a delightful, saline pool. KNIFE restaurant if ya wanna get swanky for dinner.

Excellent hotel. The dining room inside (Knife) is the jewel of this hotel. Try their Akaushi steak if you get a chance.

I am a vendor in retail formalwear in the Dallas area. Though I did not have accomodations, I had reason to visit briefly for business purposes. I must say, this is one very attractive place! It really has a modern appeal but tweaked out to true Texas style. Add to this, the overall sensation of being at a day spa given the water display in the lobby. Everyone was very helpful, considerate and friendly, from the valet, to concierge, front desk and even in the restaurant where I was invited to look. This place is a must see! Upon entering the restaurant, don't overlook the meat freezer on full display. Very cool! I cannot wait to visit for dinner!

Wonderful job with the design of this hotel! Really wish my stay has not been so short as the room and hotel were so nice. I like that the hotel has a different feel than others on the chain, the advantage of the Curio brand. Also liked that there were good blackout blinds in the room. Kept it nice and dark. Very nice bathroom with beautiful stone and soft lighting. Would definitely come back here to stay again.

Shortened stay… shabby home…
Room that overlooks the freeway next door and on the climes.
Dark Rooms… no coffee machine door bathroom that slides very badly.
I do not recommend for a family stay…
It is in my opinion what caused this extremely cold reception…
I went to spend my money elsewhere where the reception and benefits were up to par for an equivalent price.

Was not in the actual hotel, but the spa is amazing. You can get a facial, microblading, massage, acupuncture, and your nails done all in one place. The atmosphere is very soothing and the staff is great. Definitely recommend Exhale.

Knife Restaurant: Breakfast with my sons for a wonderful Mom's weekend at SMU. Service was incredibly slow. Our waitress never checked on us and we finally ordered from a food runner. We'd heard wonderful recommendations about the food and the chef-inspired menu, but were sorely disappointed. Our breakfast "sandwich" was served on a mediocre white bread hamburger bun with dry scrambled eggs and over cooked bacon — no sauce, no garnishment, nothing. Bland, bland, bland. I should have stayed at home and made a better sandwich myself. For a $12 price tag, the sandwich cost Knife $2.00. Won't be back.

The burger was fine the service was excellent. The presentation left a lot to be desired. I will be posting photos under my review. For being the best burger in Dallas I was rather disappointed.

This is the third time I've stayed here. Nice hotel. Unfortunately, they often book the outdoor space for private events which means you can't be out there and have to go into the over crowded bar.

I've been spending time in hotels lately, so it's easy to know and compare different ones. The Dallas Highlands isn't a bad hotel, but it doesn't really qualify as good though either. The pluses: Clean. Friendly staff. Not stingy with the pillows. Bed is comfortable. Television is large and modern. Fast internet (although it timed out frequently if you went idle for a short time, but not if streaming something). Detractors: Shower has severe water pressure, like peel-your-skin off high water pressure. It doesn't adjust. I am here at training conference with about 120 people and the number (two) and speed (glacial) elevators, coupled with the inability to use the stairs as an option (only allowed in a fire or emergency situation) made for a logjam during every break or end of day. The typical wait was seven or eight minutes per cycle, so if you ended up near the back of the group you could waste a good chunk of time accomplishing nothing. There isn't a place to buy snacks/aspirin/water, or anything else in the hotel and there isn't anwhere nearby to buy it either. There is one vending machine (not on the conference floor, meaning you had to wait in line to use the elevator and good luck with that! ) and it only sold junk food. Overall, it's not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, but it's nowhere close to the top. I can't give two and a half stars, which is where I would put it, so it's graded at a three out of five.

The room was lovely but my thermostat and shower were broken. They quickly fixed the thermostat and I didn't bother to call in about the shower, just dealt with it. Only two ice machines and one was broken also. No sign by elevators stating it was broken so I had to trek back to the other one that was on another floor.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was comfy and beautiful. The atmosphere was very upscale and nice. It was especially great because we could bring our dogs.

Absolutely gorgeous. The staff and catering staff so friendly. Completely worth it with such an ample tub.

My wife and I have stayed here several times. We always love it BUT we are always very irritated by the $30/day charge for parking. It may be irrational but everytime we stay there this is always the one thing that simply drives us crazy. We have to pay $30/day, we have to wait for our car whenever we want to go anywhere, and then you feel compelled to tip the valet repeatedly. AND, it's not like there is a alternative. There is simply no other place to park.

Great location in uptown close to shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Staff was helpful and provided exceptional service. Rooms were immaculate. I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice rooms and atmosphere. Convenient to the train station. You have to ask for an in-room coffee maker though.

I expected a lot more out of the rooms. The king bedroom was small with an expensive price tag. $30 for overnight parking & valet seems a bit ridiculous. The only reason I gave them 3 stars because I enjoyed the bed a lot! My slumber was disturbed by yelling cleaning staff at 9am. This hotel is in a great location for shopping.

Great location in downtown Dallas right down the street from love field. Rooms were spacious, clean, and staff were great.

Was attending an event at SMU so the location was great. Nice hotel with nice toiletries (a plus for me), I would stay there again.

So very disappointed in this place. Parking way overpriced. Very loud housekeeping in the early early morning. When you order room service everything is priced individually, chicken and french fries $50.00. The front desk staff (Savanna) very rude and talk to me like I was a child. I left items in the room and called the next day, I got Savanna again on the phone, she put me on hold for 10 minutes, came back and said there was noting left in the room. The bag with medications, maybe thrown away, but a scanner? I don't think so. I will never stay here again and will discourage everyone that will listen not to be fooled by the beautiful looks of the place, customer service was awful!

Fantastic property with an upscale yet relaxed ambiance. The pool area was beautiful and there were plenty of lounge areas to just escape and relax.

This is a great hotel! It's like the "Cheers Bar" of hotels — a place where everybody knows your name. From the valet parking attendant to the front desk to the restaurant to the bar to the great room service guy, everyone addresses you by name and provides OUTSTANDING service. The place is right next to Central Expressway but don't let that deter you. The room was so quiet that all I heard was the A/C and my wife breathing. We will most definitely stay here again on our next trip to Dallas. Top notch!

Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is very clean and modern. Complimentary coffee and tea in the morning is a nice touch. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Dallas.

Room is clean and well appointed. The front desk staff are efficient but a little on the stiff side. Bell captain, valets, & house keeping, are all very friendly and efficient. The building itself seems like it has been updated on the surface, but the bones are outdated. It has a few rough edges. The only thing that I would consider as a real negative is that there is no free parking, your only option is the $27 per day valet parking. This one thing might make me consider another choice on our next trip out.

Great hotel for the price. Room was nicely finished, staff was great. The pool is really nice with a few little cabanas for shade. The one problem, and it's pretty unfortunate, is the sheets on the bed were aweful. Like plastic, maybe they were old and burnt from the dryer? I dunno, but they were very uncomfortable. 4 stars for that.

Excellent service, comfortable rooms and an impressive restaurant. I was pleased with every aspect of my stay at the Highland Dallas.

Went for a wedding reception. It was pretty nice. The staff was very helpful. Our table jokingly asked for milk and waiter came back with little cartons for all.

The hotel could have 5 stars if the front desk supervisor/manager would have been willing to compromise or just be considerate of my concerns. I have stayed there twice over the past 2 weeks, for work. My job provided the accommodations but my personal credit card was necessary for incidentals, no problem. On my first visit, I arrived at 3am and had no problem checking in. I handed over my prepaid debit card, with only $50 on it, to front desk to which he swiped with no questions or problems. I didn't realize the $50 would be put on hold for an entire week as I was assured the card only needed to be "on file. " This is when the front desk manager comes into the story. He made it very clear there were no exceptions to the hotel's policies regarding incidentals. He did however approve a transfer of the hold to my business associates card and even allowed a cash advance from that card since the hold on my initial card wouldn't be credited back, instantly. A week later, I returned for work, with the same personal card and same amount available. The hold was barely credited back the day before. Maybe it was my fault for mentioning this financial situation because this time I was informed about the hotel's policy on incidentals included a minimum $100, per night to be charged to the card for the duration of my stay. Considering, I was going to be there 4 days, the total came out to $400 to check in.

Horrible customer service. I assumed I would get the same rate as I did in November, but they charged me double the rate. Even the customer service person I called, Mary Phillips had no clue of how to treat a customer. It is definitely not worth 300.00 per night. Should be around 90/night. No one in my company will ever stay there again.

Everything was nice and comfortable. The online description said there was a managers reception and we were told that on check in. Then when we inquired about it later we were told they no longer do that. Staff needs to communicate changes a little better.

A wonderful place to stay! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is beyond amazing. The food from Knife is delicious. The only downside is there is no coffee pot in the room.

Try the steakhouse here. Excellent Chef, John Tesar. What to remember is this: Knife Steakhouse has ribeye steaks that are dry-aged 240 days. Say flavor! Open til 12mid on weekends. @kurtwvs.

A very nice hotel. I was there for the week and enjoyed staying in Dallas because of this hotel. There's is a outdoor pool that unfortunately was a bit chilly in December but the hot tub was fantastic. The service was outstanding and everything was clean and looked welcoming. The rooms were ample size and bed was comfortable. I had absolutely no issues here. There is no comp breakfast but if you pay, you do get excellent food. I'd definitely stay there again if I'm ever back there.
