I'm actually more impressed than I thought I'd be. Room is clean and comfortable and the rates were great. The only small complaint that I would have is the elevator is painfully slow and somewhat scary and our room keys stopped working in the second day and we had to go back down and get more made. Other than that, I'd stay again and recommend it.

I was just a guest of a friend that rented the room. I have stayed there before and the stay was very pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The price was adequate for the location and the breakfast was not bad either. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars and not 5 because in my opinion, 5 star hotels offer room service.

You get what you pay for at this hotel. Front desk staff was friendly. The lobby was really nice, clean & decorated. The reason I'm not rating with more stars is my room was not being maintained or cleaned well. Carpets were stained and rippled. The threshold going into the bathroom was half broken out. The pieces that remained were quite sharp. Its a real hazard. The chairs were stained and the chair that went to the desk still has something spilled on it. The hair dryer had hair stuck to it old hair spray kept the hair on it. Plus the vent on the hair dryer was filled with lent (fire hazard). The breakfast offered was pretty limited. If you want to take a shower you have to call the front desk for full sized towels as the room only has hand towels and wash clothes. It's a shame this property is not being managed well. It looks relatively new. I posted 3 pictures of the problem areas in my room.

We have stayed at the Wingate in the past 2013. The hotel was very nice then. It is in need of a face lift. Our room was in need of a deep cleaning. The carpet, drapes, mirrors, lamps were all filthy. The only thing that was good was the bed clothes were clean and the price was low.

I stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and it was clean and in good condition. I couldn't be more shocked at how a lack of maintenance and attention to detail has caused this hotel to fall. The floors were stained in multiple spots, the chairs in the room had stains on them (every one), the wallpaper in the bathrooms was peeling and exposing mildew. This hotel is a poor representation of the Wyndham brand.

Marty was great! The hotel is amazing and staff was great! Breakfast was awesome as well. Room was clean and cozy. I like to sleep with the room cold and the air conditioning unit in the room definitely worked! Will always choose to stay here when visiting Abilene! 10 stars from me!

Love the beds. This isn't the most modern place, but I have no complaints. I would use this location again.

Shout out to the front desk lady, Amanda, you can tell she isn't feeling to well and she still goes above and beyond the call of duty, she is awesome, if every front desk was as accommodating and helpful as she is the world would be a better place, if I could rate more then 5 stars I would, she's awesome!

Location was easy to get to. Rooms were clean and neat and service was helpful and very kind.

Customer service was outstanding. Rooms were clean and looked nice. Breakfast was great.

It was dissapointing to show up and be told we're sorry we overbooked and we don't have a room for you after some expressed anger they came up with a room to make it right thanks to the ladies at the front desk.

Awesome place. Nice comfy bed. Friendly staff. Great location. I'd give them 5 stars if I hadn't gotten eaten up by bed bugs in room 100. I'm HIGHY allergic to them so the bites are easily identifiable, but take a few hours to develop, well passed check out. I always pull the sheets off and look, but it was 2am and I'd been driving for 10 hours, so… When I called and told the staff they were very nice and appologetic and assured me maintenance would look into it immediately.

Check in was easy and hotel has curb appeal. Rooms need updating, door latch plate bent, bathroom very small, needs new mattress. Overall good experience.

Booked a hotel here due to the frozen streets on new years. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and warm. They gave a mini apartment feel, at least the room I stayed in did. It was a pleasant stay overall and the breakfast was really good.

They gave us a room and the door would not lock. Seriously, they didn't know about that before putting people in there? Also, we ask for a crib and they gave us a play pen. And don't get me started with breakfast, they served DFAC eggs. Like the eggs that Soldiers eat when they are out in the field. I would know, I am a Soldier.

DO NOT EVER STAY HERE… Wingate hotels anywhere else are good… just a heads up.

They have rooms that are clean, and comfortable. Wish I had a picture of my personal comfort about this place!

Awesome customer service. The lady who works at the front desk, hope, was awesome. She made our stay easy, she was accommodating and an all around awesome person. If I could rate more I would. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The other reviews must have been cursed because during our stay she went above and beyond the call of duty. Hope is awesome.!

The hotel customer service was horrible and not accommodating to my inconvenience and pain and suffering and I will never stay again in this hotel. I came to the Abilene area for work and planned on staying in a hotel until my living arrangements were secured. I decided to stay in the Wingate due to the amount of time, the cost, and previous reviews that I had seen on the internet. I checked into the hotel Tuesday night; Wednesday afternoon/evening I noticed a cluster of small itchy red bumps around my neck area. At this time, the source of why I got these bumps was unknown. Each additional night I stayed in this hotel, in the morning I noticed a new cluster of bumps located on varies parts of my body. Friday morning, I woke up a noticed something crawling in the bed, which were several of small bugs, and then is when I realized this was the source. Hotel management was informed and an “investigation” was supposed to be taking place. I was then moved to a new room. After returning to the new room from work sitting at the desk area located towards the front of the room, I noticed something crawling on the untouched made bed. I walked over and noticed that it was an ant. I killed that ant and went and sat back at the desk. I then noticed something else crawling on the bed and by this time it was several ants. Hotel staff was informed and I was moved to another room.

Though the price and service were great, some things I must mention were sub par. The treadmill and t. V. Were broken in the small exercise room. The pool had no lights on at night either in or around pool. The whirlpool inside was green with algae and not inviting. Upkeep issues. The room was clean and bedding and linens were comfortable. In the bathroom, the ceiling filter for fan was rusted and dirty. The soap dish on tub was missing and the hole not replaced with a tile. The breakfast bar was typical as with most hotels. However I will say that reception was friendly and welcoming. We will stay elsewhere another time.

The lobby and representative behind the desk was very impressive. The room was amazing. The bathroom needed a little touching up here and there, (a bit of rust and broken tub tiles) but all in all, for a pool, breakfast, hot tub, gym, and close proximity to the air Force Base, you really can't beat the price. It was a great overnight stay! We will definitely stay here again I'm the future.

Adam the A-hole! My wife and I had a late check-in. It was close to midnight. Adam appeared as if he was either High or we woke him from a nap. Rude and condescending. In the morning we got up for breakfast at 6:45 nothing was available and when we asked he snapped at my wife rudely. On top of that the hot tub is green, the pool is full of dirt and bugs, broken tile, trip hazards. No wonder it's only 70 bucks! Don't know how that guy even has a job! Never again!
